give it 3 days your profile picture's gonna turn into this for "spreading negativity"
I know and I don't care, as long as I do my part on helping the word get out. This update just about pushed me over the edge. And I have been extremely tolerant of what the devs have done.
-
I know this kind of thing has happened several times before with BHVR. But this just crossed the line and pushed me over the edge. The sad part about this is that I am not sure if we can do anything to let BHVR know that what they are doing is not okay.

Oni, Spirit, and Pyramid head
I like Oni because he is stronk as hell and can snowball pressure insanely fast. I literally went afk (not knowing I was loading in a game) and after 2 and a half gens were done I quickly slugged everyone and managed to get a 4k on plagues' map.
I like Spirit because she is cool and fun to play as. She can wipe the floor with survivors (although I will admit she needs a rework).
I like Pyramid head because he is just so cool. I can yeet someone across the map in an instant while ignoring all those pesky perks like DS or BT. It is also funny to see the salt I get from survivors for playing him well. I was accused of using an "auto-aim" cheat the other day and that is when I realized how good I have gotten with him. His final judgement is also incredibly satisfying and has the best soundtrack imo.

Well, a quick google told me the current CEO is Rémi Racine, so it's possible it's him making these decisions. Other than that, we'll never actually know. I have a feeling it's a higher up rather than a Developer, but I could be wrong.
I feel that way too. I have seen the devs' livestreams and from what I can tell, they seem like cool peeps. They clearly love their game. However I just don't understand why they keep doing what they do and I think that they are just doing what they are told.

Do you really not know who the game director is? You have been playing this game how long? I'll give you a hint, he goes by @MCote_BHVR on Twitter.
"Is it the devs making uhh "certain questionable" changes to the game or is it Cote, the game director?"
-
I also don't understand why this couldn't have been delayed. Who brings out an unfinished update to live servers of the game? BHVR does I guess.
-
idk man, I don't even know
-
Honestly, I advise you to play another killer right now. The devs have admitted that the twins are unfinished (but still brought them into the game's live servers) and they are also buggy.
-
Anyone who buys the chapter either don't care that it is unfinished or support BHVR's questionable actions lately.

Just don't tunnel, it's 60 sec, get better or slug them.
Someone clearly has a firm understanding of how powerful and abuseable DS is

-
Unbreakable because it has the strongest impact out of all other perks, except maybe DS. If everyone is downed without unbreakable, then that is a loss for the survivors and they are in a helpless situation except if someone kobe's, but that is quite rare. With just one unbreakable, and all survivors are downed, the unb user can literally save everyone. I have had moments like this happen in a match. It is also nice to have the passive bonus of recovering faster. Ever had a moment where the killer slugs everyone (not the toxic kind where they just let you bleed out) to end the game or create pressure? Well unb would counter that (kinda BS tho if 2 or more people have it tho).
The reason I wouldn't use DS like many others is because you don't need it as much as you think. If you are a very good player, then you won't need DS. You could probably rely on your teammates to perform an efficient BT save. BT is already a fantastic anti-tunnel perk. When using DS You are giving up a perk slot for a perk that you might not even get to use most of the time.
-
I thought I was one of the last ones left. Frozen chocolate is great.
-
I think you are referring to "event" items such as the year 4 anniversary med kit and flashlight or the spooky hallows eve flashlight and med kit. You can't get the anniversary items anymore, but you can get the others during October.
-
Because the game is not designed for that. Sure it might work against solos, but can you imagine a SWF? You would have no power against them. Even a duo would mess you up badly.
-
I don't think this perk should be as strong as it is and just needs a nerf. Simply deleting something out of the game just feels like a lazy fix. I believe there is a way to balance it.
-
They get upset at BMing because unlike other games, DbD is much more unbalanced which makes things a little more frustrating than your average game. Good killers will know that BMing them will only help them catch up faster, but in maps where that is very survivor sided such as Haddonfield or Ormond it doesn't matter if the survivors know what they are doing and are running strong perks. BMing can either make you upset or it won't, usually it does. Most of the time it does actually. But the reason is because the killers feel helpless. It becomes more frustrating especially if survivors bring a good map offering and good perks on top of that.

Learn to utilize your HUD. The HUD contains a lot of useful information, not just the injured / dying state of survivors. For example. say you are being unhooked. You notice a little blue symbol that looks like my avatar, that means i can heal you super fast, it also means you don't need to run to the other side of the damn map to get that heal. All buffs and some killer effects such as Thana and its like, will show up in the same place and its worth learning to recognize when these are in play.
If you are on a gen injured, or with someone injured, and it's safe to do so, stop repairing at 99% and heal up. Now there are some who might disagree with this, but i tend to find that a good portion of killers will zero in on an area where a gens been completed, and a lot of people get found healing nearby, or just found injured as both repairing parties ran of in different directions.
Alternate your gens! This can be difficult to do in solo, but if you complete a gen on one side of the map, make an effort to do the next one on the complete opposite side, this lessens the chances of you being 3 genned.
If you are being slug camped, don't just lie there and take it. Yes, being slug camped is boring, but i try to have fun with it. Crawl away from your camper, making sure not to lead them in the direction of team mates. 9 times out of 10 I find that the killer gives up on the camp strategy and either walks away, or hooks me. Some will follow you, thinking you are about to rat out your team mates and will just follow you. In these cases, waste their time as much as possible. Slugged along with another survivor, crawl off in different directions, killer can't follow you both.
For the love of all that is holy, if you see a slug crawling away to hide while they recover, do not attempt to get them up while you are in a chase. This isn't an issue for swf as they can communicate if fully recovered, but in solo i have lost count of the many times i have crawled, hid, gotten to about 90% recovery, only to have someone to attempt a heal mid chase and now the killer knows where i am again. Also, even if you do get them up, chances are they are going right back down again, and you'll likely take a hit as well.
Ah yes the HUD, the thing that is so useful but noobs ignore unless someone is on a hook.
-
It is not the end of the world if they attempt to do it and you definitely don't want to let them die because of it that is just wrong and will lose you a game. Even if they do somehow kobe, it is not like you knew they would try to. Just try to go for the save and if they kobe who cares? Besides it can be funny when it does happen.
-
@Chrisko said:
ALSO...Try not to run the killer toward survivors doing a generator. If you hear the gen sound ahead and can move in a direction away from the survivors working on a gen, then do so.
This is a problem especially in solo queue.
-
I mean.... he's not wrong in a way...
-
@Warcrafter4 said:
We'd realistically need ~1 killer for every 3 survivors because survivors can re-queue the moment they are are out of the game but the killer has to stay until the very end.
As for incentives I feel like its less incentives and more removing disincentives.
Make the survivor's ability to bully killers to be lessened and try to reduce the "harassment" parts of the game that serve no real purpose other then to grief the killer like chain blinding the killer or constantly stunning the killer with head on/aggressive DS plays(Locker tech is a prime example).
So for incentives, I feel like it really would just be fixing core issues of the game such as weak killers and bad map design.

@Hex_Llama said:
I hesitate to call running Kindred, giving someone else your med kit, and letting yourself die "etiquette." I think those are options that new players might forget about, but I don't think it's, like, a social requirement of the game.
Yeah I know, but it is just a nice thing to do. If there is two survivors, then the likelihood of both of them escaping is drastically decreased. Letting yourself die on hook when there is one more person is probably the best thing you can do to make sure someone escapes. If you don't, then you will probably get the both of you killed. You don't have to do it though.

1- NEVER cleanse a totem if someone is finishing the last gen in front of it. It can be noed
2- if the killer is chasing you don”t run towards a hooked survivor. I see it so many times and I can”t understand it
@dezzmont said:
Do not loop near a hooked survivor.
DO. NOT. LOOP. NEAR. THE. HOOK.
Also, before going for a hook rescue, count to 10, unless the killer somehow teleports away or is otherwise clearly occupied. A bad rescue is worse than no rescue. A good rule is if you start your rescue when inside the terror radius your actively helping the killer kill someone faster, unless you have borrowed time.
Yes, I hate seeing people loop near a hooked person.
-
@Xbob42 said:
What exactly are they supposed to do? Queue times are based on how many players are attempting to play each role. They can't "fix" that, although I guess they could offer some incentives to play killer more.
Yeah I didn't realize that it was up to how many people play killers. But I think that giving all killers a rework or tune up would really help people choose killers. Problem is, it is all up to bhvr. Stronger killers such as p head or huntress are played at high levels because they are effective and strong while also simple and fun. If they buffed the weaker killers, it would encourage survivors to play more killer. That is one way of doing it, maybe there are other great ideas that would help.

I would say Billy is great, but since his nerf he is quite lackluster without ruin and undying, however he is not a bad choice. Blight and Freddy on the other hand have great mobility and a nice base power without addons.
Billy has great mobility and can punish overextending/greedy survivors who try and loop more than they actually can without using a pallet. However, his nerf has made it much harder to do so. Overall, he is above average.
Blight has really good mobility, but less lethality due to no insta down ability. He can traverse throughout most maps relatively efficiently. If you want to use his power offensively (in a chase), you either have to wait until the survivor attempts to switch tiles or have a good spot in a loop where you can bounce off of. Overall, he is a good killer or at least better than someone like wraith.
Freddy has no insta down ability, but his snares make up for it due to how deadly they can be. His dream projection (teleport) is also amazing for map pressure and mobility. His semi stealth while survivors are awake and oblivious status effect are great to stay hidden and counters BT. Overall he is a deadly killer who can end chases quickly if survivors do not wake up.

A good hag, or deathslinger.

@Terro said:
They could just add killer bots whenever queue times are too long. I dunno if ppl would like that or not.
That would be a lot of work for something people wouldn't really like. It is better if it is an actual human playing. Besides, toxic survivors wouldn't get to ruin another person's experience so there would be a huge drop in players, maybe idk.
-
@nerdguy5 said:
how Long do you consider “long wait times”.... because I’m getting in fairly quickly every single time....
also? You can’t play a match if there isn’t a killer. If not enough people are playing killer is literally IMPOSSIBLE to just “increase que times”
I consider a long wait time to be at least 3 and a half minutes, again this is only for survivor.
-
@Unseen_Force said:
You can help by playing killer more. Thats really the only thing that would help. Game needs more purple and red rank killers
I have and do all the time actually. But I still enjoy survivor gameplay too. I have played tons of killer lately, but I like switching on and off of killer and survivor.
-
The thing is, Otzdarva already did this. The devs of course, completely ignored him. But it would be nice if it actually worked.

Yeah that makes sense. Was just wondering since there were lots of posts I had to read multiple times to understand. Again, I am not complaining or bad talking about those kinds of posts.

I feel like the best build for p head would be the normal meta build atm.
Discordance
Undying
Ruin
tinkerer
This works especially well on p head because he is so oppressive and is very good at staying in the flow of a match as long as he consistently torments survivors.

Worst teammates in a while, played against a baby demo and my entire team went down after I got rid of NOED. Was not happy at all and was probably the worst game I have had in a while for survivor. I never ever trash talk at the end of games, but this one pushed me a little over the edge to the point where I just said "amazing teamwork" and just left. Btw, the only reason I went down in the first place was because the demo boi had mcdonalds wifi, no joke.
This match was followed by a huntress with iri head + soldiers belt and mori along with teammates who didn't even try. But at least they kind of had a reason to do so, and even I could understand why they gave up. Did not have much fun yesterday.

No, but applying deepwond along with broken, yes.
That sounds better lol. Like I said it was just a random thought I had about the perk, but this seems like it would work.

Scrambled with some salt.

You can still memorize the locations of where cages spawn btw, or he had the iri seal of Metatron which allows him to see the auras of all tormented survivors every time he sends you the the cage.

The PTB was amazing, now it is still okay I guess. But I really loved the sound of the tinking if that is what it is? The hammering or bell ringing really added to the atmosphere and gave a sense of impending doom.

Bad what about-ism. PGTW can be used easily eight plus times in a trial. DS, once. DS is not a strong perk. Too much counter play.
Too much counter play to DS what? It is not a strong perk? The only counter play would be to slug the DS user, but it doesn't even matter if they have unbreakable. If everyone ran DS, what do you think the outcome of the match would be?
-
Pretty sure that it is actually getting reworked.

So when the killer slugs, tunnels, and camps... that isn't considered ruining someone's fun? It kinda feels like people are really saying
"I truly don't care about your experience, just don't ruin mine."
Someone DCing, in terms of game play, is no different then the useless Blendette in the corner, who won't engage in chases, saves, and takes 8 minutes to finish 1 gen.
What kind of slugging are we talking about, the kind that is strategic, or is just to slug everyone to be a jerk?
For tunneling and camping of course it can suck as well. But by disconnecting, you don't even give your team a chance to get out of the current situation they are in.
Also, the Claudette in a corner is still at least if anything really, is still making the killer think there is more of a threat from the survivors than there actually is.
-
Because you are most likely ruining everyone's fun just for not getting your way.

I understand where you're coming from, however, I did this several times and I was left to die half the time because no one came back to help me, even though I gave myself up for them, so I don't do it anymore.
Yeah, the best thing you can do is run kindred and hope your team has at least 2 brain cells lol.

I agree but if your getting facecamped or tunneled I don't blame you tbh if facecamping is allowed u should be able to dc its a viable thing for someone holding you hostage.
The faster you die while being camped, the more likely your team will be camped as well. I would say the best thing that you could do that would suck, but help everyone would be to struggle until you die.
-
Adrenaline because assuming the whole team is good and they finish all gens regularly, then you should always get full value out of it. Having a five second sprint burst along with an insta-heal (and wake up if against Freddy), is extremely powerful. The impact it can have with a somewhat coordinated squad is crippling for the killer. The exhaustion perks like lithe, SB, and DH can help throughout the match, but if the survivors are good they won't need them.
-
I think the problem with playing stealthy is that you are not being hooked. If your teammates are on second and death hook, you should probably get hooked on purpose to relieve pressure off them. At least going into a chase delays a death.
-
Because it is still an amazing game that is really fun.
-
not sure how no bloodlust makes those killers unplayable
-
It doesn't sound too bad, except for the fact that killers could easily abuse this. How you ask? Well, by simply looking down or around as to not start a chase with a survivor while still gaining distance on them.
-
Some person added me while I wrecked their squad as nurse to tell me I was a good nurse. I usually get a lot of salt.
