Compared to TF2 where literally the first game I join after a few month break a hacker joins, steals my name, and starts aimbotting people and trying to get me kicked instead? Nah it’s not too bad in DBD
lol TF2 is so much worse, but it actually used to be even worse than it is now

Most killers are also bad at this game. They keep whining about DS and UB and DH.
They have a good point though. DS + unbreakable is stupid and straight up unfair. DH is pretty BS sometimes because all a survivor has to do is press E to Extend chase. They both require no skill to use.
Ruin + undying however takes some sort of skill to get good usage out of it. If a killer has these perks, they have to manage their chase times much more effectively. They have to make the decision of "do I keep chasing this guy and get a down, or do I go back to scare people off of this generator so it regresses? And will doing this be more helpful or harmful to me?". It is also fully manageable as a survivor. It can be a little lame to cleanse it 3-5 times, but it is actually much easier than most people think. It is just cleansing a totem or two after all. Your teammates will also be doing the same since everyone hates the combo so much.
Even a good killer will whine about DS + UB and DH. Look at Otzdarva and every other killer player that streams. Even they say that it is stupid.

I have never watched an Otz video but I've never agreed with people who say Plague is bottom tier.
They call her power useless because all you need to do is not cleanse, and she becomes an M1 killer. I'm like, are you people for real? That basically makes her power read as: "All Survivors have No Mither, but instead of being quiet and leaving no blood the are extremely noisy and glow green."
How that isn't a strong power is beyond me.
The strategy of not cleansing is outdated, that was back when plague had no corrupt pool at base kit. Now that she does though, it encourages survivors to cleanse much more often. She fully counters and healing perk and has a strong projectile that can hit through multiple survivors. I don't understand why people say she is low tier either.

Sorry but that's just not true, Wraith is good with windstorm. And survivors will get caught in the open...if you can move fast enough to get to them which is why windstorm is so necessary to making him actually playable. You can't just make a beeline to survivors and not try to hide your approach. You have to think about where survivors can run to, and if you can, body-block them or get them to run to a different area. And in short loops you can use his enhanced lunge to easily get around those loops and hit survivors. You're definitely not playing him right if you think Wraith should be played like every other chase killer.
You should give Wraith another try with a build that works with his playstyle. BBQ, Sloppy/MYC, Ruin/Pop and enduring is what I usually run.
I still disagree. I want him to have chase potential so he isn't looped like a normal killer. I do actually play him correctly (the hit and run playstyle) and I can show you a video of me playing him if you would like. It is also hard to go up to survivors in the open when the area is super open since the survivors will see you coming. Of course, this should be much easier to do with his upcoming buff. Now you won't have to hide your approach as much.
My Wraith build consists of CI, brutal strength, sloppy butcher, and surveillance all level 3 (that is all I have on him atm, I really want MYC). As I said, I play him with the sort of hit and run playstyle which of course means to sneak up to get the initial hit on survivors and to not commit to longer chases. I then use the speed from my windstorm to go to another part where I know or predict a survivor will be. Surveillance helps me with this since I can see if survivors get on a generator I recently kicked. The bone clapper helps me get the initial hit on survivors because they will always be unsure of where i am uncloaking (literally his second-best addon besides the coxcombed clapper).
Going up against a good survivor team (not even a SWF) will make you realize the limits of windstorm on Wraith. It helps a lot, but then again not by a whole lot against good survivors. They don't even have to be that good either.

I still think it is trash.

Honestly, the usefulness of DS or the idea of an "anti-tunnel perk" shows that tunneling is a problem. I believe it is because it can be unfun, but it is also one of the few viable strategies a killer can do sometimes. The fact that BHVR made a band-aid fix for it just makes it worse over time. It is like putting a bandage on a gunshot wound.

I'm not talking about 5% movement speed, I'm talking windstorm levels of movement speed while cloaked. He should be 140% while cloaked by default, then BHVR can rework the windstorm add-ons into something more interesting.
Wraith doesn't need another ability, windstorm speed literally makes him a good killer. He's not supposed to have good chase potential, none of the stealth killers are. His main strengths are map mobility and a playstyle that spreads pressure and catches survivors in the open, and he can do this really well with windstorm. If you're looking to play Wraith to chase every survivor from healthy to down then you're gonna lose because that's not how you play Wraith.
The whole reason Wraith is so weak in the first place is because he has no chase potential. Just because he's a stealth killer doesn't mean he shouldn't have some sort of power in a chase. Even with purple windstorm and a bone clapper, he is a mediocre killer.
The better the survivors, the more apparent it is that Wraith is a bad killer. No good to average survivor would ever let you catch them out in the open.
Windstorm alone does not make him a good killer, he will still be decent at best depending on the map.
-
That means any aura reading perk or addon the killer has to see you will not work. So if the killer is in the range of your meters from the tokens, the killer can't see your aura no matter what.
-
Because the devs are updating the maps graphically, not balance-wise. Because better graphics are of utmost importance.

I main the piggy and the trap RNG is the least of my concerns, on average its 2.5 searches and since you have 4 traps your average box searches will be close to the 2.5 number most of the time, sometimes you even get a satisfying headpop if you mess a bit with the trapped survivor.
What i hate about her is her crouching time. I almost nerver crouch with pig because it takes a ######### eternity and if you want to make a rush you give out your position, wich makes it only usable on small pallet loops, very very niche. I think the needed change to pig is make her crouching the same as Ghostface and please remove the crouch/uncrouch knife sound wich also warns the survivors you are there.
She is not a stealth killer right now, she is just a game stalling m1 killer with potential to be a bit better in some loop and it's a bit sad :(
I don't think she should be a full-on stealth killer since her power is already full of other things. You use her stealth to creep up on survivors when you know for a fact where they are. The stealth is fine, but her ambush isn't. Assuming she is buffed, she would have a good chasing power, game slow down, and full-on stealth base kit. That would just be way too much.
The RNG should be the main concern with the ambush. On average doesn't really mean 2.5 searches, I feel like most of the time when I am against a pig, I get it off the first or sometimes the second try, and no that is not an exaggeration. Randomness in a game like dbd is unhealthy especially since it is an asymmetrical game already. Like I said before, just look at trapper. Even with his new incoming buffs, it will still allow a survivor to get their trap off their first try. This is inconsistent and unreliable.
-
I think all killers should be more unique. They are all kind of the same right now. You can loop all of them (except nurse), blind them (p head somehow), and stun them. I think that it would be in BHVR's best interests to create unique killers after they fix their game but we all know that'll ever happen.
So basically, no. I think that p head is very unique still and I would rather see a new killer with abilities that let them, pressure survivors, in different ways that is fun for both sides.
-
I think the "fearful" effect should be changed. It does make you find survivors faster which is good, but any good survivors would hear your bell and immediately run to a safe spot. It also doesn't help him in a chase.
I also don't think that he should have the bone clapper as base kit. It should be increased to purple rarity and it would probably be overwhelming for newer survivors.
The purple windstorm base kit seems pretty nice and I have said before that it should be a thing. Not too strong, but enough for him to juggle survivors.
The buff he got in the latest PTB was a great start (of course it was sort of bugged on the PTB), but he still needs chase potential.
@ALostPuppy said:
All Wraith needs is extra movement speed. That's literally it, he's way too slow without it and it would instantly take Wraith from garbage to good, because the one thing holding him back is his movement speed. It's so ######### irritating that BHVR still haven't taken the hint.
If we give him something like 5% increased movement speed at all times, survivors could still loop him a little bit and throw pallets down early. This would not solve his problem of not having chase potential and kinda just seems like a band-aid fix, if even.
Like I said in my own Wraith post, I think that the Wraith should put some passive effect on survivors by shaking his bell side to side to sort of curse them with it instead of cloaking. This could be available when he is not cloaked. It has to help him in a chase, and I don't think that it should reduce survivors' movement speed because that would be too simple. I have said it before, but this is pretty challenging to just make up a new effect that would help the Wraith in a chase.

The problem with Pig is that her chase power is extremely weak, in exchange for a slowdown power that is probably the best in the game with an added lethality unseen by ANY killer.
Her stealth is the weakest stealth in the game. While crouched, she moves slower than Nurse. Only Ghostface really moves as slow as her while crouched, and Ghostface doesn't even NEED to walk while crouched most of the time. The difference between Nurse and Pig while crouched is greater than the difference between Hag/Huntress/Deathslinger and all the normal speed killers! That's right. Nurse without blinking would beat a Crouched Pig in a race by more than Pig uncrouched would beat Hag in a race.
As for her Ambush attack, it's far too easy to counter. And it's not particularly useful in loops if survivors know how to face it (the problem is, most don't. Which is fine, until you run into the ones that do.) Mostly you just have to run away from a loop if a Pig starts her ambush. And it's pretty punishing when she misses unless she has the addons. She pretty much has no anti-looping power against any survivor who knows how to counter her.
In chase, Pig is basically an M1 killer with a weak power. She can kill her terror radius at the expense of any speed whatsoever. (Keep in mind that in a race between Tier 1 Myers, Crouched Pig, and Tier 2 Myers, Tier 1 Myers time would be closer to Tier Myers 2 time than to Crouched Pig's Time) And she has a dash attack that can catch people off guard if they don't know how to deal with it.
If you're playing Pig and you're getting downs, you can start to snowball from there. It can massively slow the game down. But if you're having trouble with Pig, you're not going to have a good time at all. Her true power only comes into play once she gets someone down. And then it's pretty limited not just to before the gens get done, but you only have 4 RBT's too. The tradeoff, of course, is that these things can be extremely lethal.
What Pig needs is more tradeoff. Some anti-looping, a buff to her movement speed while crouched (seriously, spine chill already MURDERS her stealth worse than any of the other Stealth killers) but less lethality in her traps, and less RNG. Her dash needs to be tweaked a bit to make it less punishing, and more rewarding without needing to use add-ons.
I feel like her stealth is fine. She already has a lot of other things going for her. Giving her full-on stealth would be a bit too strong if she was reworked properly. Her stealth is to creep up on survivors when you know their exact location.
For spine chill, all you have to do is look away when approaching survivors. I will admit though, it is pretty stupid how spine chill activates when you are "undetectable". I would patch it out.

@Blueberry said:
The RNG of her traps is not what is holding her back.
Yes they should function how they did previously for end game collapse and yes they should have their gone on first box removed.
That said, what's holding Pig back is her trash crouch/ambush. 99% of the time you'd get a hit with her ambush you could have just played the loop normally and got the hit as well. Not to mention failing to land the ambush is actually punishing whereas the ladder is not. IE it's almost never worth using her ambush. You're better off just uncrouching for an m1, that's poor killer design. Her crouch view point is also still way too low, she can't even see above grass.
On top of those trap changes, she needs straps at base, remove the roar on her ambush or at least put it at the very end, increase the speed on it slightly, and raise the view point on her crouch. The ambush is just too predictable since you hear her crouch before and the roar that comes with it. This makes it way too easy to avoid or just move tiles as soon as you hear her.
Lastly she needs an addon overhaul as most of them are terrible. (Rule Set #2 at base please)
Current Pig is just a basic m1 killer with a little bit of slow down and mediocre stealth.
@UncleStabby said:
Accidentally deleted my own comment. Rip. But yeah, she needs a rework, no doubt.
@Blueberry is absolutely right though, the RNG isn't exactly what's holding her back. The trap needs to induce more panic, generate more stress than it currently does. There are tons of ways to do this, of course (Such as even inactive traps preventing survivor escape until removed, for example.)
Idea #1: Making the ambush less punishing and predictable to use in a chase while changing her traps to be less RNG reliant
- The pig's missed cooldown for her ambush is reduced to that of a normal missed attack.
- The roar from using her ambush is removed and the sound from her *shink by crouching and uncrouching is removed
- Increase the height of the POV while crouching by just a lil' bit
- The effect of the combat straps become base kit
- Inactive traps will instantly kill a survivor attempting to escape the trial, shows the aura of the furthest jigsaw box from both exit gates. Searching this jigsaw box
Her RBTs - The Pig starts with 4 RBTs. If a generator is completed while a survivor is wearing a RBT, the RBT is activated. While activated, the survivor wearing one will have to search 2 jigsaw boxes to get it off. If a generator is completed while an RBT is already active, increase the number of jigsaw boxes that a survivor will have to search by 1. Does not happen a second time with the same trap on the same survivor. The duration of an active trap could be reduced to 2 minutes since we have one less jigsaw box to search.
I am not sure how to incorporate the 4th box in, maybe we could reduce the number of boxes to 3 normally. Having a survivor search 4 boxes seems pretty sucky. These changes could make her RBTs work on more than one survivor because they would have to think twice about finishing that generator while someone has a trap on them. The distance of each jigsaw box could also be adjusted to be far, but not literally on the other side of the map far. Just enough to be fair for the killer and the survivors. The ambush changes might still need some changes though.
What do you have to add or change?
-
I would actually do my job.
-
mmm no?
-
Pyramid head's theme is just so good.
-
A dream patch? How about a proper patch. Every time there is a new one, it has maybe a perk rework or two, slight changes to one killer (possibly), more bug fixes than content, and mainly a short paragraph of the new "content" we get.
Some changes I don't agree with though, like the bone clapper being base kit on Wraith. The iri head change was bad overall. Instead, the idea of it not reducing the amount of hatchets and keeping the insta down potential only if the huntress hits a shot 24 meters or further.
-
@GoobyNugget said:
I just want her ambush changed in some sort of way, like someone else said, remove the roar, or atleast make an ADDON that can remove the roar.
Make it base instead of an addon if either one, making a killer addon dependent is poor design. Just look at Wraith and windstorm.
-

I sort of disagree with the RNG part. Imagine if a survivor couldn't escape after the last generator like before. They could either search the first box and get the trap off, or they could search the fourth one. This makes the power of her RBTs very inconsistent. RNG in dead by daylight is unhealthy, just look at trapper even with his buff. Suvivors still have the ability to escape a trap on their first try. Maybe it isn't her main issue, but it is an issue nonetheless.
I do agree with the ambush though. The stealth you get from it, I think it is fine because it is only for creeping up on survivors healing or working on a generator when you know their exact location. The ambush can feel very bad to use in a lot of tiles, it can work at some but not all. Any sentient survivor will make sure you are without a dash attack at almost all loops.
She also needs a complete addon overhaul, same as demo. Her addons are just terrible. Combat straps base kit would be great. However, I am unsure about the rules set #2 because that addon actually encourages survivors to do generators and with her current RNG based traps it can either work well or suck.
So to make her ambush viable in a chase, we have to make it less predictable and less punishing with a better POV.

Making this thread after also having made a thread about how DS is too strong and needs a nerf...? 🤨
Some of the examples you listed make sense (trying to force a BT hit, running in the same direction as the other survivor/getting in the way while you're trying to chase the other person, etc.) but a couple of the rest are just actual tunneling. You do you, but nobody enjoys not being given a moment to breathe or being punished for their teammates :/
Some survivors ARE asking for it for the way they play after the unhook but getting chased into a dead zone doesn't really fall under the "asking for it" category, imo
DS is an anti-tunnel perk, that gives way more value than an anti-tunnel perk should be giving. This can also stack on four different survivors for a full minute of protection to do whatever you want.
It may be actual tunneling, but it is beneficial to me when playing killer. The survivor also had the chance to run to a safer part of the map, so I see it as punishing them for being in the wrong place at the wrong time if I am close by when they had the chance to run. I didn't mean a survivor should get tunneled because they messed up. For example, if I am close and I see you sneak behind a z wall on the edge of the map, I would go after the person and slug. I know it seems harsh, but I like to get as many kills as I can when playing killer. Sometimes that means tunneling a survivor. However, I don't go out of my way to tunnel.

I get it if you are going for rank. But at some point even that doesn't matter anymore.
I play as "fair" as I can,, unless you BM me. Then I will sweat on your ass.
