I’ll concede on bt being better now than it was originally. I do think simply going after the unhooker fixes that however.
in regards to decisive having counterplay previously. You could juggle yes that was changed. However all of that happened before you even hooked them. Now it only comes into effect 60 seconds after they get unhooked. The meta tactics for killer right now include slugging which is a counter for decisive. Yes survivors can also be running unbreakable which counters that but I think killers won’t have that much trouble with ds unbreakable combo since slugging either forces them to waste unbreakable or ds and it’s not available again. If they don’t want to use their unbreakable that means a teammate would have to get off a gen and come one tap pick them up.
Sorry for including unbreakable into this but I went on a tangent.
I don't think that slugging is a counter to DS nor "not tunneling" because it is still in favor of the survivor team because the killer misses out on a hook stage. All it will do is buy you time.
-
Not really, it is a strategy many killers can be encouraged to use to get kills. Killing more survivors is satisfying. It is also satisfying to the kill toxic survivors.
-
What rank are you at? I doubt that most games are like that.
-
No, he will still be pretty weak. His ability to place traps is too simple and that is literally all he can do. It is also way too easy to deal with them even more so in a SWF.
-
I made a guide that can help with this.

Sprint Burst used to be 20s and tied into exhaustion recovering while running.
DS used to be you couldn’t even hook a survivor and they would stun you.
BT used to apply to the unhooker as well.
How were any of these buffed.
Wow, I am glad I wasn't around when SB was 20 seconds holy hell.
The old DS had counterplay (juggling) and you could actually have a good chance to do something about it. The new one provides a full minute of protection with no counter.
BT I consider to be buffed because it does its job better, it works infinitely on the person being unhooked which is what the perk was used for. (a band-aid fix for camping btw) The old BT required no skill to sneak up to a hooked survivor to perform a safe resue since you both had practically invincibility and almost guaranteed a save and protection for both participating survivors.

So I couldn't bare to notice that your post was edited by one of the forum mods, it happened to me before too with the same moderator. Must be hitting a nerve there I guess. Care to edit your post to see what it said? It seems risky I know, I've done it before anyway and they didn't care enough to bother editing my post again. It seems like most staff can't really take criticism tbh.
Oof, I see what they edited out. It was that a "certain higher-up" dev didn't even know that color-blind settings were coming. I don't want to be banned for saying who, I am sure you can figure it out though. That person has gotten a lot of backlash lately.

Sprint Burst, DS, Borrowed Time have all been nerfed, a lot more than killer perks.
How was sb nerfed? DS has been buffed due to many failed attempted nerfs, and BT was also buffed.

It is less of the addon and moreover the actual RNG aspect to the Pig's power itself.

I left a very lengthy comment at the very end regarding this.

Billy will always lose against survivors who know what LOS is & those who run with a plan (not being caught in the open). Against competent survivors, it's not very often you catch them off-guard.
Billy not only has a overbearing heat mechanic but he also cannot turn whatsoever without addons.
Oni on the other hand has a power that is very easy to get (2 hits) & can do flicks with. He can roam the map flawlessly compared to Billy who has to worry about running into things constantly.
Overall, I think Oni takes the cake & Billy is nowhere near good imo. I'd love for someone to change my mind.
I think the only thing that billy has that Oni doesn't have is constant access to a weaker utility and lethal power. You can at any time use your chainsaw to run around the map or in a chase, there are no special requirements. Oni on the other hand gets a much more powerful version of the two, but with the limitation of having 45 seconds to use it at a time and he has to build up his power bar.
I still think that they both are very good in terms of design and when you compare it to the rest of the cast, these two are extremely well designed.
-
Oni just looks dope without cosmetics.
-
You created an account just to say this game is bad because you think killers are overpowered?

@ASpazNamedSteve said:
I thought base Billy WAS one of the best designed killers, until they slapped an arbitrary overheat mechanic on him. I'm not gonna pretend Billy's suddenly a trash killer or anything, I just think it took away a lot of his fun. Barely anyone even complained about his base power, just instasaw + other addon shenanigans.
And yeah Oni is just awesome. His design is great in so many ways. Not sure there's any special reason for that, other than the devs just did solid, great design work all around.
Fix his camera bug, nerf Topknot, and I'd say he's close to perfect.
A few of his addons could use some work, that is a fact. I think it would be best if they buffed his base charge for his demon dash by .25 seconds or maybe .5. His current charge time for the demon dash can feel a bit too slow. Making it take 1.75 seconds at base and the topknot could buff it to take away .5 or .25 seconds.
His other addons I don't know how to buff, but he is still in a great spot.

The most important thing to know when playing nurse:
Use the first blink to get close to a survivor, and the second to get close enough for a hit. The rest is mechanical skill and actual direction of your blinks at different tiles that you kind of have to learn over time.
-
No, I would like to see a few games you play at rank one where you 4k every game with no addons. It is actually difficult against skilled survivors. She may have a meh skill cap, but she has a skill cap nonetheless.
-
Never, you should not be upset by someone pressing the crouch button repeatedly which actually helps you because they don't make a lot of distance on you.

I would love a very rare, or ultra rare add on that turns RBT's into Shotgun Collars. But I agree pig needs love she's my favorite.
It would be cool to see that trap in the game. But I don't think it would work out with BHVR.

this belongs in general discussions but besides that i would rather run mad grip since it is more common for survivors to body block you as hag when you try to bring a survivor to the basement.
even then i would still rather just run perks that will help me throughout the match as both these killers and having your game plan be winning by basement is boring for everyone.
Of course, there are other perks. I was just stating that agitation is a good choice. It might not be the best, but it definitely helps a bunch.

It is a latency issue, not a hitbox issue.

They could do both things at the same time. This is not a small indy company. They have enough manpower to do a health chapter while still releasing new content.
Very true
-
You're welcome. It is called being a good survivor player.
-
I am pretty sure that dbd can handle a period of staleness. If I were them, I would come out with a small chapter with some sort of small content and then afterwards release a heavily worked on health patch full of balance changes and bug fixes.
-
Pick an area of the map and defend it, preferably one with at least two generators within 32-40 meters close. Then trap the jungle gyms around there.
Just lock down a part of the map with your traps and don't bother chasing survivors at all if they take you away from your den of traps. "Chase" them with your traps so to speak.
If you place a trap right next to a side of a window or pallet and the survivor is not looking at it with their camera it will flick their camera and delay a pallet drop or window vault for at least a half-second if you place the trap right (I would recommend watching a video guide on Hag).
(I am not a really good hag main btw)

They aren't getting worse, they have sucked for months.
-
Well, it also doesn't make sense to kill a survivor off of first hook thereby ruining the match and the survivor's fun because the odds are now in favor of the killer. And yes, I know that this was considered a "counter" to keys, but it was much worse than keys and unhealthy.
-
Communication with the community and apparently with their own devs. A lot of problems can be attributed to that. I say they also have trouble communicating with their devs is because of the whole color blind mode fiasco. So not only do they mostly ignore the community, they apparently also have trouble communicating with their own developer teams.
I swear it sucks so much to know that dbd could be a massive game and so much better, but not with the way BHVR continues to handle things. It just doesn't make sense, why are they not fixing a game that could give them more revenue (money) and a better reputation.
-
Yeah, cuz rank 1 games are impossible without ruin + undying. /s

What I noticed is my survivor queues are almost instant AND my teammates are (almost always) awesome if I play survivor in the morning [EU].
I seriously escaped nearly every match yesterday morning and had lots of good loopers in my teams.
However as soon as it gets a little late survivor queues become pure torture. They take up to 7 minutes after 8pm and the teammates are mostly bots that do nothing all game and go down in seconds.
My killer queues are always quick. The slowest killer queue I've ever had was 2 minutes. Other than that they're pretty much always instant (less than 10 seconds) or below 1 minute if it's in the morning (when survivor queues are quick).
So just most EU survivor players are good? lol I only ever hear that they are skilled
-
They should be disabled until maps actually get reworked.
-
I think that it should activate only after a survivor stops working on a gen, not immediately after you hook the obsession and it cannot reset or stack if you somehow hook someone else as an obsession during this time.
Since survivors can easily counter it by just working on the generator (they are given a debuff warning for dead man's switch in the bottom right) I think it should have some sort of debuff if they continue to work on the gen. Maybe a regression penalty by 15% and have their auras revealed for as long as the perk lasts. Maybe, it still wouldn't exactly be a top tier perk.
However, it is a good perk on Freddy with a certain playstyle.
-
I am really unsure. But if I had to take a well-educated guess, I would say mostly ineffective. Since people will expect this to be a much more common combo, they will be much more equipped to deal with it. It is also only two totems and if they are both decent or trash totem spawns, that is two perk slots given up for nothing.
-
Yeah, it can suck without gen regression perks, but if you have tracking perks it will be okay (probably). Perks like BBQ, thrilling, and whispers are so good because they help you do your main objective faster which is finding survivors. Imagine if you could always see the survivor's auras, chances are you wouldn't really need gen regression perks.
-
Usually doing a gen in front of you because they know they can get away with it while BS is activated. And then they complain about tunneling.

Bubba is like... middle of the road design wise, he always has been. He's got a very basic power design with a slightly higher skill ceiling than... say Micheal or something.
How people can say he's worse than Legion or Twins is mind blowing.
Ik, but the twins literally are only good if you tunnel and camp which are two huge no no's when it comes to this game to a lot of people because it is not fun. And then BHVR designs a killer specialized in the two... Their biggest problem is fundamental design. Scott Jund made an excellent video on this and I recommend you go watch that.

2.5 seconds is a bit too slow. Consider changing this to 1.5 or even one second.

I'm not saying it's actually bad and I do run it from time to time. It's alright. Still, it's just a substantially weaker effect than meta or meta-adjacent perks they could have been running instead, so it doesn't make much sense to complain about survivors running it.
Not that it makes sense to complain about people running perks and using items that are in the game regardless, but still.
Yeah, even though its effect can be strong, other perks like adrenaline are still more useful.

Oh no, not Prove Thyself! They might save like 15 seconds over the course of the entire match D:
That 15 seconds can actually come in clutch more than you think. And with BNPs and toolboxes, that adds up to a lot more than just 15 seconds. Try running it for a few games.
-
Because despite the BS that happens, most of the time I find myself enjoying it.
-
"I'm sorry but Bubba is the worst designed killer"
*Laughs in the twins
-
@Hopesfall said:
and yet with those queue times, survivors are eager to be gen bots with BNPs and prove thyself
guess they like lobbies
They like to feel better than the killer in cases where they just try to bully them, and then get upset when they are unable to. At least the toxic survivors do.

Oh yeah, they're really bad sometimes lol.
I'll definitely try & record my wait times though. I'll probably just make another comment to this post when I have them.
cool

@Karao_Ke said:
Probably because killer is 10x more frustrating to play. I'd rather lay back & relax as survivor than be on the edge of my seat the entire game as killer. Shouldn't that be the other way around?
Edit: I get 10+ minute queues, consider yourself lucky lad.
For survivor? oof, if you would be so kind as to record a bunch of your times that would be appreciated so everyone else can see how ridiculous they are.
-
@Volcz said:
..Thats not long at all. You're just hella impatient. Yes killer que takes less b/c there are less people playing it, versus filling 4 survivors per match.
Go que up other games and you'll know this. OW Comp mode takes a good 3-7m on average, LoL takes 3-6m, WoW BGs take 5-10m, WoW arenas take 2-5m (depending on your rating). When it gets to 10 minutes+ consistently, I'll say you have a good point.
Am I though? The actual length of the games I play are under 10 minutes which does not feel right. They are literally almost as long as the longest queue time in that list. If all goes poorly, the games I play as survivor ends even faster when you include people killing themselves on first hook or DC'ing.
So I have a long queue time that gives me the chance of getting a game that could end in less time than the actual queue itself. If the matches in this game lasted a few more minutes on average, then I would have no problem.
I also have none of those games and would rather not download them.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
I'd like to mention that the time of day does effect the queue times. Mid day the reverse seems to occur (almost instant survivor queues and long killer queues).
Despite this, I can imagine the frustration with waiting this long in the evenings for a single game.
I know, for example there were a few times where my queue as a survivor were under a minute. Even with mid day being the best time, it still sucks on average.
-
@JPA said:
No because perks like BT render his camping largely useless.
If Bubba hooks a single survivor, the remaining 3 can repair most if not all gens before someone dies off a first hook. Camping Bubba is only so effective because of people going for unsafe hooks.
Not really actually, DS is what you would need in this situation. Bubba can actually catch up to a survivor running with sprint burst active, so that means that Bubba can catch up to a survivor who has one less second of SB after hitting them while also downing the rescuer.
-
It is not because they are both dealing with the objectives.
Tunneling = killing survivors = the killers objective
"gen rushing" = survivors doing generators = the survivors' objective
