LOL, no, it's more complex than that, sorry to get in the argument between you @YaiPa and @_VTK_
The real problem here is the correct interpretation of data and results, the low kill rate of Nurse might be caused by players who try to use her, not by Nurse mains, example: how many GOOD Nurses have you played against? I'm talking about players who 4k every game not even giving you a chance. Compare that with the amount of times you've played against a Nurse who's learning or just trying to do a challenge. Now, numbers:
Good nurses I've faced on XBOX red ranks: 3 (I actually have their GTs) with an average of 3k+
Wannabe Nurses I've faced on XBOX red ranks: 20+ with an average of 1k+
WE KNOW A GOOD NURSE IS THE BEST KILLER IN THE GAME BUT LETS SEE THIS EXAMPLE...
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/095/BXYQ5V4TBCSX.png
*This are random, NOT REAL NOR ACTUAL DATA, simulation intended. You can see an actual kill ratio can be modified drastically by the outcome of learning or not Nurse main players who want or have to use the killer. WE KNOW NURSE HAS THE TOUGHEST LEARNING COURVE and in this simulation you can see there are more players randomly or occasionally playing nurse than Nurse mains, which could be what's messing with the average.
You need to know there's more complex thinking in interpreting stats and where they came from. Killers specifically have WAY TOO MANY variables missing in their released stats, those specific charts have to be carefully interpreted.
that was my the point. They are superficially using miscellaneous and badly taken data to balance the game.

Stats for Hawking show what they show: the killrate. There is no reason to question the stats. Interpreting stats is a different thing and I said it many times already. Even if stats for Hawkins are slightly skewed (although you have a weak argument, since both killers and survivors are new to it, not just survivors), it doesn't really affect the other stats.
Saying that stats are worthless, because you don't WANT to believe in them and nitpick at details is just laughable.
I guess I'll believe nurse is the weakest killer then :/

Opinion of a biased main vs stats collected by an unbiased algorithm, I wonder what has more value /s
Collecting and correctly interpreting the stats is the only way to balance the game because of all the cognitive humans biases: confirmation bias, frequency illusion, Dunning-Krueger effect, just to name a few. So, stats are fine, regardless of whether they fit your subjective reality or not, you'll just have to accept it.
Concerting gen times. Gen times are fine and it's mainly not the maps. It's the gap in looping skills (=chase times) that makes it hard to balance the game. 1 good looper can change the outcome of a game. Throw in 2 or 3 and Killer will DC. What DEVs can do is buffing bloodlust to cut out extremely long chases or re-work the way pallet towns are placed on maps, so that survivors can't safely run from one pallet town to another one. Survivors will need a buff in return.
The first thing they teach you at whatever statistic class is not to jump on instant conclusion with the data you gained. For example, Hawkins is the map with the highest kill ratio, is it the strongest map for killers? No, simply it was the last released, hence not many people knew the survival basics of the map such as pallet spawn and correct pallet looping at the time data was taken.
Also, as already said, their data was taken incorrectly: for example, what is a red rank match? A match "hosted" by a red rank killer, but what about the survivors? They didn't tell us.
for such reason, these kind of datas shouldn't be taken seriously, unless with much more data.
-
I might be a sleeper agent, whenever I see .TTV my homicidal instinct raises :)
-
Despite maps are the biggest problem atm in DbD, you shouldn't take care of the statistics, those numbers they threw at us are completely worthless, lacking and also badly acquired. Those numbers caused more damage than other.
-
Long story short: it’s done to prevent survivor hiding and taking the game in hostage.
sure, they could make that the last survivor aura at 5 gens is being shown to the killer, but you know, survivor always deserve a second chance, otherwise they riot.

Maybe he is a streamer and does not want to reveal his perks for stream snipers? Maybe he uses Noed or Blood Warden etc. which basically are counterable by survivors if they know his perks.
Let's be serious, a German console streamer who has so much subs that people are willing to stream snipe him? No way, also just quick checked the channel and there aren't any twitch links whatsoever.
-
Heh, if you want an angle and momentum check before vaulting a pallet, like for windows, then more then half of the pallets loop would become much less safe, which I wouldn't be upset of, but I don't think it's that fair.
-
I like how you hide your perks and add-ons, like you have found a secret combo and you fear somebody could steal it, it makes look dbd somewhat competitive.
-
Sprint burst is godlike only if you're already very good at looping and at taking every vault as a fast vault. But dead hard is much polyhedric and most of the times has no counter.

Grim pantry is a pretty decent map for her. I actually like that map.
The god window at the central structure is a legit infinite thanks to the awful chase system, so unless the upper gen is completed, survivors can just keep running you at that building.
-
No, she's much map dependent, in some tiles (like grim pantry) there's literally nothing you can do.
-
Not if done alone, without addressing the reasons why ruin was used.

If there's gonna be 90 seconds of exhaustion you should be able to run while the timer drains to balance it out. Also does the 90 second exhaustion stack? (So if you hit two exhaustion hatches back to back it would be 180 seconds instead of 90?)
You get back to 90 seconds when you get hit a second time.
All these things will be changed with huntress rework/add-on change, which will happen not soon, I guess.

Why the hell is there a 90 second exhaustion addon?
huntress was created and designed when exhaustion worked differently, since you could gain exhaustion back even while running. Nowadays 90 seconds it's clearly an overkill, but they asked me for huntress' strongest and most optimal combo...

It's easy to get addicted to since you're constantly rewarded with points/upgrades, has iconic characters and a grind that pretty much never ends.
Those 3 things are what i assume draws a lot of people in and why it keeps a dedicated base.
super grinding system, awful matchmaking that leads to awful killer experience, long queue times, high skill cap that hits hard when you reach purple ranks.
i don't know how somebody can get addicted if he play every 10 minutes/gets destroyed by people with much more experience than him.

Changing Billy's base kit will be a death sentence for BHVR.
I know the game is gonna die. But, if the added a cool down to the shock, who clearly wasn't an issue for decent survivors, I'm scared of what they will do to billy, considered op by many high level survivors. Pretty sure they will nerf carburetor.

I don't think even BHVR is foolish enough to change Billy's base kit. If they think the ruin revolt was bad...people will raid their HQ in Montreal if they do that.
sure? because I'm start seeing a fil rouge on how their reworks are: just add a red bar filling as cool down. They added cool down for nurse, they added cool down for doctor, they'll add cool down before revving up the chainsaw after a miss because "billy doesn't get punished".
-
if they keep this pace, when they will rework (read nerf) billy, probably at the start of 2021, maybe they'll fix emblems system (chaser in particular).

This was my first game ever as a killer about 3 and a half months ago.
I'm amazed on how this game can get new players.

Huntress infantry belt and 90 seconds exhaustion add-on.

They also get permanent ban if they do it 4 times.
"24H -> 48H -> 1W -> PERMANENT
This is a sliding scale and determined on a case-by-case basis. If an offense is considered to be particularly egregious, the duration of the ban may skip one or more steps in this process."
still, people lag switching get 24h, while people cheating pixels instaban.
-
They most likely get a temporary ban, as it happens in these cases. The only way people can get insta banned is for cheating legacy or items.
-
sooner or later they will nerf bbq because has over 70% usage at red ranks and gives too many bona to the killer, so I don't care about that. also it doesn't block auras, it's just harder to see.
-
I'm rank 1, but my anger isn't directly towards the ruin nerf, rather than towards the major incompetence of the devs, their obvious bias for survivors, their lies and an entire paragraph of ######### they keep ignoring or pretend is fixed.

This is the thing, it will almost never happen that all 4 do this. If 2 hide and 2 start gens then what? You get to chase 1, 1 is actually working on a gen, and 2 are doing nothing except maybe cleansing dull totems... I will consider that a great perk even if it’s gone after two minutes and I’m down to three perks.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/992640#Comment_992640
If you’re on a set up killer it’s great setup time, if you’re on a mobile killer then after a couple loops you start to branch out a bit to catch someone hiding near a blocked gen, I guess in killers like Clown, Bubba etc you don’t get much.
Hey actually, you get two minutes toward Gatekeeper emblem and that is very important to killers according to BHVR
as I said, it's good on setup killers, otherwise, not so much.
thanks for making a thread about my "wrong" corrupt intervention takes, just to agree with me in the end.

Again you say this, but if it becomes meta for everyone to wait that is the same as All 4 survivors searching for Ruin for exactly two minutes and doing nothing else. True then you would be down to three perk slots but Even in its current state I think most killers would count that as a positive.
Why is positive? The game lasts longer true, but if you don't achieve anything, then you didn't get anything from the perk.
-
if the time passes but as killer you didn't get anything from it (such as a hit, a hook) you wasted a perk slot. Stalling corrupt will become meta, survivors will just cleanse totems and hide.
-
considering the time survivors currently spend in lobby, dodging is the last thing you should do.
also, just use mlga, it should works even with dedicated servers.
-
corrupt intervention works well only on trap setting killers, hence hag or trapper (can work also on Myers). It will never replace ruin in terms of strength and stall potential, survivor can just wait 2 minutes, hiding in lockers or in the corners of the map, and if you keep looking for them, without doing anything productive, then it's a wasted slot.
but plague is good for infectious fright.
-
tbh, cheaters have always duped accounts so banning is pretty much worthless. The real issue is the reporting system, very lacking.
-
survivors have always been stronger than killers, since day one. In order to change things, we don't need slight reworks or tweaks, we need a big update, dbd 4.0 or smth like that.
-
I would get banned instantly, :/ sorry
-
badly designed killer that nobody uses has intended, with horrible built-in mechanic. Perfectly balanced!
-
More like it's an outdated perk.

Just because a game failed at something doesn't mean it doesn't have other inspirational aspects to it. Last Year's killers' brutal take downs and their personalities far surpass Dead by daylight's killers in my book. And I am not here trying to sell the game for anyone, because I totally agree with you on the part that the game pretty much failed on its start and I don't even play the game myself. I just think there's something that can be taken as a inspiration to use on dbd, and there's nothing wrong with that, devs do it all the time.
The fact is that in order to have success, last year is doing everything dbd stated won't do. In fact we have monstrous killers, gory kills and they're planning to add a new priest-like killer, some religious related killer we probably won't have in dbd.

Most of the times is 2 weeks after the ptb.

Gonna rock the new skin from the rift? The "after fight" david?
If I reach it, of course. Isn’t it in the premium track tho?
-
Sure, it’s one of the best perk for most m1 killers, as you said.
-
David main: every kind of face or torso, but you can be sure I’m gonna rock his blue sweatpants, such a cool skin.
-
Last year is a dead game that did literally everything to die since its day one. Just because now it got a reboot doesn’t mean it should be inspirational.
-
For my experience creepypasta are straight garbage stories, I've read among the worst works of art ever. I think the creepypasta itself is kinda dead nowadays tho.
but to answer you: no, I've never heard nor read any dbd related creepypastas.
-
No.
to fix dead by daylight they need to show some balls and do a big update changing many things together, like it was the 2.0 patch. Otherwise iri heads (just to mention one big issue) will get reworked in 2021, when huntress (a normal killer, without major issues) will be looked, because of course other killers need to be looked into before.

Any recolor as a PAID cosmetic is a lazy cash grab lol.
Whether an item looks better than the original is purely personal preference and shouldn't be used as an argument.
But the Rift is literally a cash grab so if people buy it good for them I guess lol.
"A fool and their money are soon parted." ~Thomas Tusser
That’s why you should buy the season pass only because it gives you back your cells. Otherwise hundreds of shards, bland recolours and few good skins aren’t worth 10€.
-
I mean the hag recolour is sick, super Sayan blue.
-
Peanits said to me there’s absolutely no connection between the play rate/strength of killers and their pricing. But, tbh to these days I don’t believe him.
-
as survivor: my patience, while there are some people who like to babysit baby survivor, I really can't tolerate bad plays or inefficiency.
as killer: i lose line of sight with distant survivors
-
Bro, everything is done in their wallet's favor. For example nea's Japanese skin with pink hair and facemask is their best selling skin and, guess what, it's the least discounted skin.
-
PGTW, noed, enduring, spirit fury, will become the basic build for almost every m1 killer, you can switch save the best for last depending on the killer.
-
If my vote is the only one I'm gonna be upset ngl.
