You see those perks I’ve mentioned? They apply pressure to gens. Gen-rushing is such an excuse for poor pressure or gameplay as a killer. You brought up a best case that I RARELY see. Not including, every survivor must not miss a skill check, the killer must not touch those gens, and the killer must be running very low-level perks to not counter a gen rush. You can spot a gen-rush team in the pregame lobby. There’s no excuse for not adjusting.
Ruin is useless if you play against survivors who can consistenly hit hex skill checks and when there are three of them working on three different gens.
Discordance will not give you any information when 3 gens can pop in 90 seconds.
I rarely play against killers running corrupt intervention (most killers I play against run ruin), so I can't really how much that helps.
The other perks you mentioned require you to end a chase and down the survivor, but like I said, three gens can pop even if you end the chase in 30 seconds; which denies you the chance to use discordance, pop or overcharge.
Genrush doesn't happen when more than one survivor are working on the same gen, it will most likely happen when you have three different survivors working on three different gens.

You’re talking literal best case scenario.
It takes 80 seconds without ruin for a single survivor without a toolbox to complete a gen. With the best toolbox, 60 seconds, solo, no ruin. Add the 3-5% regression for Good Skill checks and the 0% regression/progression for Great Skill checks. The chances of 3 generators popping, with ruin, and you getting a survivor is slim.
While it doesn't happen all the time, it does happen; I've genrushed killers and been genrushed many times after almost 2k hours of play. How many times in total? Not really sure, but enough time for me to notice there's a problem, because I think something like this should not be able to happen at all.
-
It can take you about 30 seconds to find a survivor.
30 seconds to down the survivor.
10 seconds to pick him up and hook him.
20 seconds to walk to a gen that is being worked on.
Those are 90 seconds and in 90 seconds 3 gens can pop (even with ruin), but it's not because the chase took too long and I don't think a killer that can end a chase in 30 seconds is a bad killer.

She doesn't get her speed boost when coming out of phasing.
Wraith does, but it becomes normal when you attack, killing the boost and making the extended windstorm lunges impossible.
By the way, It's true that survivor queues are taking much longer than killer queues, it may be a bug, but I have my doubts. I don't think the devs would admit there's currently a lack of killers, because that would lead to believe playing killer is not very fun, which wouldn't be good for the game's reputation and sales.
And I can confirm that I don't play killer as much as I used to, simply because playing killer isn't that fun once you become aware of all the issues and balance problems you have to deal with as a killer.

- Spirit is currently bugged and broken along with her nerf
- Nurse got nerfed and is very unfun to play as even if she can still be good, most people who wanted easy wins moved on from her
- Ghost Face's power doesn't work properly half the time (neither does Myers)
- Wraith is bugged and broken, just like Spirit
- Freddy got nerfed
- Oni got nerfed and made boring to play
- Legion getting buffed is debatable, most see it as an overall nerf
- And finally, sounds have once again been completely broken this patch.
I don't need to think when the answer is obvious. Especially when many people on the forums have stated why they haven't been playing killer lately. There's no need for speculation; too many killer players feel like they're being shafted and therefore stopped playing the role.
It doesn't matter if some people find the killer role more enjoyable than survivor. I'm one of those people, too even though I try to play the game 50-50, I don't feel like playing killer lately either, if even just because of some of the above issues, let alone the fact that the majority of survivors in this game treat people who play killer like absolute dog ######### for some reason.
So, Spirit is bugged? Yesterday I played as her for the first time after the nerf and she felt weird.
-
Four issues on dbd right now; moris, keys, bad map design and poor balance (I don't think the current state of ds is fair for killers). In my opinion you can't nerf or fix one of these without fixing the others.
-
I played as nerfed spirit for the first time yesterday. I don't know what to say. They changed her other purple add ons, didn't they? She felt slower. What exactly did they do to her? It was bad, but not only because she felt slower, also because I played against a team with two bnp's; 4 gens done in three minutes, all gens done in 5. The overrall situation made me feel dissapointed with the nerfs.
-
Never relaxing to play as killer unless you play against bad survivors.

Playing with your friends is bullying I guess. You honestly need to look up the definition of bullying if you think that, having fun with friends isn't bullying. Dumbass.
No, but you'll be in denial if your claim is that comms aren't used to make a killers' life miserable by some SWF teams, smartass.
Also, my comment was supposed be a joke, chill.
-
Not always, good survivors can still do 3 gens in less than two minutes even with ruin, because they've gotten extremely good at hitting great/hex skill checks.
Also, totem rng isn't that good, sometimes survivors will spawn right next to the totem or it will spawn all the other way across the map making it impossible for you to reach it before it gets cleansed.
-
I still run it ocasionally to keep the survivors paranoid so they remain busy doing bones (in my opinion the game needs a secondary objective or at least better map design).
Also because it's not fun when 3 gens pop in less than two minutes and because sometimes map design is not in your favor as a killer.
-
I get matched with other red ranks and purple rank survivors, the problem is I mostly play against green rank killers.
-
They already tried that and red rank killers queues were too long.

Maybe that could be there animation for when they break a pallet? :0
Maybe, but I like the idea of burning down a pallet before it's even used, but that power would need a massive cooldown to be balanced (like a 2 minute cooldown or something like that), so you can't waste time running around the map burning down every pallet before all the gens are done.
I suppose you could also put the survivors on fire to slow them down for a while; something similar to what clown does.
Maybe also putting gens on fire for a while so survivors can't touch them, which could work similar to Freddy's ability to teleport to gens; that would be his map pressure tool.
-
Wouldn't a killer who can cast fire be able to burn down the pallets?

This wouldn't be a bad idea if the game was balanced around solo queue. It's not so no.
Umm... I don't know about that. I mean, I play solo all the time and I'm doing good (win some, lose some). Altought maybe I've played with a 3 man swf team or a 2 man swf team without being aware of it. I'm gonna start checking steam profiles more often to make sure.
-
There's an add on that makes them darker.
-
They need to change it from SWF to BWF if you know what I mean.
-
If it's a 4 man SWF; match them with two killers.

A few days ago i got wretched shop, and i had this jake.Every time i would chase him he would go to windows in the middle.I couldn't do anything about it.And he kept pressuring a gen constantly so i had to keep returning to that gen aswell. After all gens got done he just spam vaulted the same windows in the shop and just kept looping around them. After the endgame collapse nearly ended he finally got out putting me out of my misery.
Oh, the Wretched Shop. Recently Yui sent a map offering and we got the map, guess what she did? She always ran to that loop over and over again. Letting the survivor escape around that loop isn't a good option because there's a gen right there; I mean you could give them a free escape, but then the survivor will just start working on that gen again and it's probably a gen which you can't really pressure properly.
I've decided to always mori a survivor when I get a map with a ridiculous god loop until they fix them.
-
All killers will be overperforming soon.
-
I prefer killer because the abilities and the characters are more interesting, but I main survivor because playing killer is not very fun when you get bad maps.

Yeah I don't know which patch it was but it was them making the basement stairs more wide
I suppose you can still bodyblock them for a few seconds before they manage to get out, you should try that in case they actually try to get out of the basement. If they manage to get up the stairs try bodyblocking the windows, you might get a god pallet drop which is always a good thing and in case they don't remeber BT is running out.

You can't block basements anymore that was changed a couple months back
Oh I see. Maybe the survivors didn't know, because they just stayed running around at the bottom of the stairs while I stayed at the top for 15 seconds.
-
I don't know how many times a survivor has ran to me trying to bait me with BT, I just wait 15 second before hitting them and they go down... And if I happen to have a mori I use it on them to reward their very smart play... It's hilarious.
This method works pretty well when someone rushes the hooks in the basement using BT; just block the stairs for 15 seconds after the unhook until BT rans out and they are all down again.
EDIT: You think they'll buff it even more after more killers realize how to counter it? Probably, that would be sad, because it's hilarious.
-
He is a hybrid between Myers and Billy, but he has a cooler Mori animation. If you enjoy playing those and enjoy using mori offerings then I think you should get him.
Actually, you don't even need to use a mori because rancor is good on him; it can help you track down the survivors to instadown them. Infectious fright is also good. Haunted grounds is also good, it can allow you to get more instadowns even before you build up your power.
The problem to me is that he is pretty weak around the killer shack and TL's and he is not very easy to control. Keep that in mind.

Flashlights can reveal him. But that's... not very common. :)
I didn't know that, I thought you only got stunned, but remained cloaked.
By the way, I'll take the oportunity to say this: the other day a survivor started burning me with his flashlight until I got stunned. After the stun I could see my weapon as if I had been uncloaked by the flashlight but I couldn't use my weapon and noticed that I was still cloaked, it even said M2 to uncloak on the hud. Was it a bug? I mean are flashlights actually meant to uncloak me after the stun?
Thanks.
-
I think it's Wraith; because he can't be revealed and his power doesn't have a cooldown... yet.
-
Yes, Michael should be able to use Tier 3 on demand, something similar to Oni.

Strictly speaking, camping is always a legit strategy. It doesn't always work, but the fact that it does at times makes it every bit as legit as anything.
Of course.
For example the other day I hooked Yui in the shack and Nea was working on a gen right next to it and ran away with Sprint Burst. She didn't give me a free hit or a pallet drop so I just returned to the gen to kick it.
Then I thought; maybe she is going for the save? Guess what, I made the correct read, I found Nea inside the shack so I started chasing her and she thought it was a good idea to loop me around a Jungle Gym that is right next to the shack (not very smart and nowhere else for me to go; I already got two people not working on gens).
While I'm trying to get a hit or at least a pallet drop Meg cleanses my totem, which was also right next to the shack, so I dropped the chase and went after Meg to get a free hit. Now I know there are two survivors around Yui so I thought, maybe Nea is trying to go for the save now? Yeah, I made the correct read again. She unhooked Yui after I hit Meg, so I slugged Yui (she rage quits) and then I start a chase with Nea.
I can't help it, but predicting what survivors will do next is simply something that comes to my mind naturally. Someone on yt accused me of camping, but whatever. I don't think some people realize playing killer doesn't have to be just about chasing survivors around pallets and structures, you can also predict their movement and act accordinly.
Here's the video in case you wanna see for yourself:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xlvme8IuHww -
It's still camping, but it's a legit strategy; there's no other place for you to go to, you are not stupid, but some survivors for some reason expect the killer to play like an idiot.
-
Yeah, I wish they made Sanctum of Wrath as dark as Yamaoka State. The map honestly looked much better on the teaser.
-
Another one I use when I play as Blendette: Spine Chill + Urban evasion or Premonition + Urban evasion.
Sorry for the triple post.
-
Oh I forgot; selfcare + botany knowledge, it can save your life against stealth killers running sloppy and nurse's.
-
Sloppy butcher is nasty. I enjoy playing as Wraith running Sloppy butcher and nurse's calling, but everytime a killer is running sloppy I find it so annoying: One of the reasons why I always run We'll make it and one of the reasons why I will start running self care + botany in some matches just in case.
-
I think these are well known:
For stealth killers who can juggle (Wraith and Ghostface); sloppy butcher + nurse's calling.
For pallets: brutal strength + enduring (I like this one on most m1 killers such as Trapper and Pig)
For hexes: Ruin/Devour Hope + Haunted grounds (this is specially good on killers who have to build up their power in order to instadown; Myers and Oni)
For endgame: Thrill of the Hunt + noed + bloodwarden
-
There are also some ridiculous windows that can spawn at the coal tower and at the pit of suffocation.
-
The game needs a secondary objective and also better map design. Three gens popping in two minutes is not fun; the killer will not have time to do 12 chases, so as a survivor you already know that the killer will most likely not be able to sacrifice anyone, unless he tunnels someone to death.
And in case he tunnels someone to death then the other survivors won't get chased and just sit on gens during the whole match. Sometimes you might get a interesting endgame, specially if the killer is running noed, but sometimes not even that.
-
Probably Plague.
Most survivors don't heal, so you don't get to use your power which turns you into an M1 killer, but the instadowns are okay I suppose. However, the fact that they don't waste time healing also makes the survivors more efficient doing gens, which makes the game end faster.
I only seem have more fun with her when I'm using Black Incense in case survivors refuse to heal.
-
Not at all.
-
I'm not sure how switching from T1 to T2 would work, but I like the idea of pressing a secondary button to trigger T3 instead of stalking 99%.
-
Oh #########, how can I undo my vote.
I forgot the Hags that use Make your choice, that ######### is annoying. She is fine, except when she can teleport to any trap she wants and uses make your choice.
If anyone has come up with any counterplay, please share.
-
I agree with all the people who say the current state of DS needs an adjustment, it just doesn't feel balanced and fair to the killer in its current state. It can punish him or her for playing efficiently. The other day I ds'd a Huntress that had already chased and hooked someone else after I got unhooked, healed and started working on a gen. Really felt bad for her, because it strucks me as bad game design and bad balance that benefits survivors too much.
But I don't think DS should deactivate when the killer hooks someones else, that on the othe hand just benefits camping and tunelling too much. I agree that the timer could be reduced to 30-40 seconds and it should deactive once you are fully healed, start healing someone else, unhook someone else, start working on a gen or start opening the exit gates.
-
Don't use the add ons that increase the trap range.
-
Maybe he thought you had ds?
-
His lunge attack seems to only be good against bad players tbh.
-
I mostly dodge people who change their items right before the lobby timer reachs 5 seconds. Sometimes I dodge a 3 man or 4 man swf team after some bad experiences when I was starting to learn the game (Haddonfield offerings, playing against survivors who were a much more higher ranks than me and the idea of coordination and communication struck me as an unfair and unbalanced advantage after a while).
I can handle two people playing together on comms, but I still consider that is an unfair advantage if I'm not playing against potatoes. Another thing I dislike about 3 and 4 man SWF teams is that they play together with their potato friends; ranks 13-15 and it's simply not fun to stomp the newbies/bad players. So I figured that a reasonable difficulty setting for me would be a 2 man SWF team paired together with either another 2 man SWF team or with survivors who are closer to my rank.
