More bloodpoints means that they get to spend them on more moris and really strong add ons like Iri heads and black incense, which are also frustrating to go against.
-
I'm going to tell you what isn't subjective; profit.
-
I predict an increase of Bubba's camping the hooks with ebonys.
-
Not really. I remember I felt frustrated by ruin, but I adapted and started going totem hunting with small game for a while, that was good enough for me until I learned how to power through ruin.
-
I understand the regression penalty is a pain for new players, I've experienced it myself when I started playing the game, but I wish you would still keep the hex skill checks that denies the progression bonus, because that is what made the hex useful against good survivors who can consistently hit the hex/great skill checks.
Consider it.

BHVR has no idea what they’re doing. They nerfed ruin bc it required “little effort” from the killer to be so effective yet Decisive, insta heals, keys, etc. all exist. That right there tells you all you need to know lol.
Don't forget the hatch.
-
You become a three perk killer with no ruin in 30 seconds sometimes. Does that count?
-
Time to milk a new generation of players that are oblivious to the flaws of this game.

I just want swamp reworked pretty sure most people find that map absolutely unbearable for both sides
That's a nice map for trapper tho.
-
When I was a noob I always ran small game to look for the totem; that solved the problem to me.
Then as I ranked up I saw how some survivors would be able to power through ruin so I tried doing the same until I stopped caring about looking for the totem and got better at hitting those hex skill checks. I also learned that if there's ruin it's better not to have more than two people working on the same gen.
Sometimes you don't even have to do more than two skill checks when repairing a gen. Then, I noticed that games without ruin felt like playing the game in an easier difficulty setting, which made them kinda boring and uninteresting.
-
I have already stopped playing killer unless I have the map offerings I want or moris. Now I don't know. We'll see, but the ruin nerf doesn't sound good.
For me it was about denying the bonus progression from great skill checks in the first two minutes of the game, because ruin doesn't last that long at red ranks. Now you are more likely to lose a gen in 30 seconds before you can reach it to aPpLY ThE prESsURE.
-
Yeah, go play something else for a week, like civilization or something.
-
Because killers will be bots without any rank soon.

The one thing that I'm thinking might be going under the radar if its true... is maybe ruin will be more stealthy. Currently survivors know ruin is up as soon as they get a skillcheck, and a little message pops up showing ruin. Maybe that message wont pop up, and instead survivors will have to be attentive to know that their gens are regressing by themselves.
Its kinda like how Huntress Lullaby is pretty garbo because it announces itselve before it can have a real impact, while devour hope is more likely to survive longer due to survivors not knowing they should look for a totem until someone gets 1 shot. MAYBE the devs will let ruin have that sneaky aspect where survivors wont instantly know to look for it. The survivor who goes to unhook his teammate might not finish his gen first before going for the unhook, allowing for it to regress without his knowledge quite abit.
I think you would just need to tap the gen for a second to check if the killer is running ruin. That's it.

Killer A.I. must be close to completion.
Of course they won't let the survivors know it's a bot so they can still have fun thinkin they are bullying a real human being. 😂

I think the logic behind it is simply profit. I won't deny they are concerned with balance at all, I believe they are, but they seem to be struggling in finding a middle ground between profit and balance.
-
Like I said in another thread; in my opinion the change has more to do with sales than balance. They might be trying to find a middle ground between profit and balance, but I don't think they can do that properly.

Good survivors get through great skillchecks and people learn totem spawn points. Ruin is usually gone the first minute of every game majority of the time, and sometimes less. This gives people the opportunity to either A) see how new Ruin synergizes with other perks (like Discordance), and/or B) try new builds out.
You said it yourself; good survivors get through hex skillchecks. If you are going to use streamers as a reference for balance you should take the good survivors as reference aswell, but the devs are doing the oppositte thing; they are balancing around people who get frustrated by the perk; little to do with balance and more to do with money/sales in my opinion.
I know ruin normally doesn't last more than two minutes, but two minutes of denying the great skill check progression bonus plus the time good survivors might waste looking for the totem and cleasing it may be good enough to prevent 3 gens from popping before your first or even your second hook. Besides it's a bit harder to finish a gen with 3 people on it while ruin is still up.
I would approve more the change if hex skill checks remained the same and at least denied the progression bonus.

Easy there. Speaking the truth tends to hurt people's feelings. They don't want to acknowledge Killers like Fudge and Scorpionz do just fine with 0 game stalling perks in red ranks. And consistently, too.
You are talking about streamers who play the game on a regular basis for hours and make some money out of it. The game shouldn't be balanced around the best killers and at the same time around the worst potato survivors who can't power through ruin.

Killer main's input: if y'all can't live without Ruin, then you probably need to reconsider how good you are at killer.
Ruin is simply a good perk and it sounds like it's going to become worse for reasons that seem questionable. If your answer to the complaints is that you should reconsider how good you are at killer then the same reasoning can be applied to the survivors who complain about it and are unable to power through it.
If the change has been done because new players get frustrated then in my opinion the change is more motivated by money/sales. They may be trying to find a middle ground between profit and balance, but I think they are unable to find that middle ground properly.
-
I was starting to think that the recent ruin change has something to do with how the new ranking system works.
-
I remember seeing this and having the same reaction Not_Queen had.
-
At this point they should remove great skill checks and progression bonus from gens and simply have skill checks that avoid the explosion.
-
Killers will be bots in a year or two.
-
We've all been there. I remember I found ruin annoying, but also made the game more interesting, because every game without ruin ended in 7-8 minutes and it was boring as hell.
We've all been there, but we got better at hitting hex skillchecks to the point in which we didn't care about ruin at all and now are able to power through it.
Ruin didn't need this, it needed a small buff. I'm very disappointed right now as a survivor and as a killer.
-
Sounds like trash.
-
Bubba, Michael and old nurse. In the hands of good killers of course.
My heart starts beating faster when I'm in a dead zone and bubba starts charging his chainsaw. I'm afraid to bodyblock when going against him too and I can't really bodyblock Michael because he might pop EWIII.
Old Nurse was very hard to lose. Haven't played against a nurse in a while.
Rin looks kinda cute, so she doesn't scare me. The rest of the killers make me feel more helpless than scared when they bait me or win a mind game.
-
Fully healed, start working on a gen, unhooking = ds deactivates.
This would also help to deal with no healing meta/genrush issue.
-
Underrated killer... probably Wraith? I know some people agree he is strong with the right add ons and the right build, but I know he still underrated by many.
Funny you mention Jeff, because that's the only survivor I don't own yet. I'd rather spend my iridescent shards on bloodpoints and cosmetics.
-
You can also record your game with Nvidia Geforce experience if you have an nvidia card.
-
Iri heads for sure.
Black incense is also strong.
-
I don't know about any tactic with her. But in my opinion the best thing you can do against a 3 or 4 man swf team with OoO is playing as ghostface or wraith, juggle and sneak up on the OoO user whenever you have the chance. You will see them, but they won't be able to see you.
-
Make nurse able to cancel her power too.
-
Any killer with high mobility or that has the ability to leave his presence around the map like trapper and hag.
Killers like Pig and Clown need a small buff.
For example; I think survivors should start the match with a reverse bear trap on their heads, this would buff Pig's presence on the map from the beginning of the game. She also needs to move a bit faster while she is crouched.
I have no idea how Clown could have more map presence, I wish I could come up with something...

yes but you can’t know if you’re getting toxic players until games started. Do you bring a Mori every time?
I used to bring one everytime I had one, but I'd rather burn map offerings now. I still do bring moris if I don't have map offerings tho.

Then I'm immediately chastised by everyone, treated as a villain, and actively punished by the game with a lower Bloodpoint count.
If you use it on everyone yes, but that's assuming you get to play against 4 idiots.
I don't think most of them would be rewarded with a pip if you take them out of the game really fast, but for me it's hard to tell because I rarely get moried.
-
As a killer you have a tool at your disposal which allows you to punish behaviour you don't like by taking the survivors that you consider toxic out of the game as fast as possible; the moris.
-
In terms of rank, I would say that they are one of many objectives you can do in order to pip, because for the game you don't win unless you pip. You might escape without doing more than 1 gen and just safety pip because you didn't do enough; in terms of rank you completed an objective which is escaping, but you didn't win a pip. At least that's how I see it in terms of rank.
-
No, you are not the only one. I'm on PC and I'm playing against green and yellow rank killers more than usual.
-
If you do a quick attack instead of the lunge you are more likely to hit the survivor who drops a pallet. Works better when you see the survivor camping them. Sometimes it has nothing to do with latency, it's just that you got greedy and didn't throw the pallet when you should've.
-
No, I don't think the game is great. As a matter of fact I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I play more survivor games, because killer isn't very fun, so I guess that makes me a survivor main, although I would play more killer games if the game had better map design.
I'm rank 2 survivor and rank 5 killer atm.
-
I remember I've seen someone suggest this before on Steam. Not a bad idea.
-
What I don't understand is what they kept the 5 second stun of ds after they nerfed enduring.
-
Art the Clown, but that isn't a very famous movie.
-
I usually use brutal strength on most killers. I've started to only run franklin's demise on Demogorgon if I see more than one toolbox since demogorgon kinda has built in brutal strength with his Shred. If I see a flashlight I run lightborn with him. He is my main anti-item, anti-flashlight killer.
-
I think he also mentioned the fact that you can get to keep the key after the match, but killers can't keep their moris.
-
In terms of what the game considers a win he is absolutely right.
-
I agree it's more fun to play survivor, at least at the high ranks where camping isn't very common and where you get decent team mates most of the time.
However with the current matchmaking low rank killers are getting stomped and that's not fun for anyone, unless you enjoy outplaying the new players for laughs and giggles (I know I don't, that's why I also don't like playing against swf teams with their rank 15 friends).
My advice to killers who are feeling frustrated with the game is to always use map offerings to avoid the bad map design; avoid going to Haddonfield, Red forest, Ormond, Autohaven wreckers and farm maps.
I've stopped playing killer unless I have the map offerings I want or at least moris, those make playing killer more fun and that's all I care about right now; having fun. I'm tired of having to sweat so much to get a pip or sometimes even just a black pip. it's not worth it because in my opinion the game doesn't reward killers with anything really valuable and the game feels more like a chore than anything else.
