you shouldn't be able to full heal after being hooked just by using the fountain.

Maybe that's the way it should work. One thing I noticed when playing against Plagues (I rarely play her myself) is that gens pop faster and I think it's because it has something to do with the fact that survivors don't or can't waste time healing.

  • Survivors. OoO is too strong on SWF of experienced hard try survivors who know what they're doing.

  • I don't know. I get those downs most of the time. You really don't need to press M1 for that long, it's a matter of miliseconds. There's a sound cue before you can release M1; Oni grunts when you can release M1, you can also look at the hud to know how long it takes to release M1.

I think that it will be a matter of muscle of memory once you get the hang of it.

EDIT: Noticed he just grunts once and it's when you can release M1.

That would make the Mori useless. It would once again be completely abused by SWF which is why you want this, the fourth person could hide and do nothing while the other 3 do gens.

That's what they already seem to do when one of them is dead on hook btw.

  • Yes, it's normal. What wasn't normal as far as I remember was seeing green rank killers going against red ranks, which is what is happening now and killers are getting stomped and genrushed. I've just had a couple of matches in which gens popped in 6 minutes playing against green rank killers.

How is using a mori bullying? Nice try but doesn't pan out well for you mate.

It's not, but it can make a killer overpowered and what I was wondering is if the argument would also be a valid argument to not use moris, from an ethical point of view. You could even question if "ethical play" (aka survivor/killer rule book) is even a valid thing.

I mean feel free to use a broken mechanic as a crutch all you want, just watch out for when they change it and now you can't play the game since you relied on it so much.

It's funny, because I actually think those loops are broken too, so broken to the point in which your advice is to give the survivor a free escape; basically a safe zone for survivors that only a mori makes it worth your time or certain killers and perks can counter.

I want to be able to play more than just two or three killers and not be forced to have to run a single perk like bamboozle on every build just because I might get a map with a loop that potentially gives the survivor a free escape. The solution for me is not running always bamboozle or only playing as Spirit, Wraith, Billy, Hag or trapper. I think the solution is simply getting rid of those god loops.

If you want to not deal with god loops, play a killer that counters god loops or use bamboozle.

I'll deal with them how I see fit, as long as it's not cheating or exploiting the game I'm fine.

Yes, a thing that can circumvent the flow of the entire game and give you free kills would indeed be an important resource, because you circumvent the flow of the entire game and get free kills.

Kind of, just like judging by your advice going to that loop gives you a free escape.

  • @AsePlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/918829#Comment_918829

Well of course it does, it completely circumvents the flow of the game and gives you free kills.

And most importantly makes my time chasing around a god loop worth the time, which is an important if not the most important resource when you play killer.

  • "So everyone you ever encounter..."

No. I'm not arguing that everyone does that or that everyone can make it to that loop no matter what. I simply saying that moris help me deal with them better, that's all.

  • Yeah, I've tried that. Works when the others don't do the same.

  • Remove all god loops first, thanks.

I use my moris so I can invest my time in chasing a survivoraround the ironworks of misery three times.

You can't deny the effectiveness of his methods though. I wish I could use him as an example to everyone who keeps saying slugging, camping, and tunneling don't work at rank 1.

No, I agree. Camping or tunneling are viable strategies that will work well; for example you can do the 3 gen more effectively by hooking a survivor between the 3 gens you are trying to protect and simply let them do the one that is further away from them. They won't be able to touch those gens or go for the save if you just stay there or at least have a very hard time going for the save if you simply injure them and not chase them.

I've done that a few times. It's true it works. Is it annoying? Yes, but so what? Survivors aren't little angels that don't do annoying ######### too.

Uhhh that's not how it goes down. I typically 4k every game, and 3ks are because of hatch of course. Maybe not as much bloodpoints but I have full builds on my favorite killers and don't care about it much.

That build is the peak of tunneling but it's not like you can't get away with it on the M1 killers as well. It's strengths are that you can protect and doctor the nearby gens with pop goes in between phasing back to the hook for 1 shots or tunnels.

Maybe watch some of this guy: https://mixer.com/ProVengeance_

He is who I watched to learn how to play mean. All the other streamers play very nice but this guy has no problems tunneling and camping when it's advantageous to do so.

I watched a bit, that guy sounds like he really hates survivor mains and their meta perks. Made me chuckle listening to him.

  • When I see just one flashlight in the lobby I always bring Franklin's or Lightborn, they help a lot, you should try to use one of them.

I know some survivors will change their items and add ons before the counter hit 5 seconds, but when they do that I just ctrl+alt+delete and move on. I think you should do the same.

In my opinion there should be a way to prevent survivors from doing that in lobbys, because I'm guessing that you see the survivors to prepare according to what you see in the lobby, right? Or what's the point of seeing their items such as flashlight and keys?

  • The only thing that can counter a ds is a mori and since ds is so meta and common you might aswell stack on moris and bring them whenever you can.

Maybe the devs will consider nerfing ds when survivors start complaining more about moris... or maybe they'll nerf the only ds counter.

What do you think would get nerfed first for the sake of balance? The right thing to do would be to nerf both.

  • I don't think this would really solve the problem, instead of one key multiple survivors can still bring keys and open the hatch three times, specially if it's a swf team.

Unless they completely remove keys from the bloodweb.

It really depends on your personal win condition in this situation. In your case you get to kill the person. In my case I'll gladly take the bait and leave the guy on hook. 1 more chase and 1 more hook means a bunch more bloodpoints.

Because of the way you've worded your comment, I think you might be able to answer this - one thing I don't get is why people are so afraid of getting DSd - I've literally seen people who've already closed the hatch (both exit gates closed) still slug the last survivor for 60 seconds in order to avoid getting stabbed. Why is that? It reminds me of people who religiously respect pallets and just wait for bloodlust to down a survivor. Is it in attempt to deny your opponent the bloodpoints or something else? Forgive me if i've interpreted your comment wrong and you're not this kind of person.

I'm not afraid to eat the ds when the last survivor is unhooked, it's just boring and not a very interesting thing to do.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Imagine thinking the opposite party is a bully for simply using tools the game explicitly allows you to use.

I wonder how many survivor mains would say something similar to that about moris.

  • Even survivors seem to be frustrated by ds, without being aware of it.

I mean, I've had a few complaints about slugging the last survivor after downing the survivor who did the unhook. Do survivors seriously expect me to pick them up after they just got unhooked? They might have a ds for all I know.

Also, I've had complaints of camping the hook after I hooked a survivor very close to an exit gate that is opened in which I can see the other two remaining survivors standing there trying to get my attention and bait me. Sorry, but I can't take the bait and let you unhook your friend, because he will most likely have ds for all I know. I could chase you and hook you, but then that survivor might unhook you ds me and then you will ds me for all I know.

I don't understand why survivor mains seem to expect the killer to be a mindless chaser with no strategy. It's almost as if they forget that there is a real human being controlling the killer.

  • You could try two things:

    1. Don't use your power until you've hooked one survivor. While he is hooked use it to wound all the survivors and apply pressure when they are trying to go for the unhook. You could potentially have them all injured which will make them easier targets or make them waste time healing.
    2. Once the survivor is unhooked just chase him to hook him again if you come across him, if you don't come across him wound the other survivors to get information until you find him and hook him again.

I think that's basically it, I personally always try to hunt down survivors who have already been hooked with killer instinct to take them out one by one. In case killer instinct isn't giving me any information I just hook the last person I wounded.

  • There may be a variety of reasons for a killer to camp even when there are still 4 gens left.

    1. He hooked you near two gens that are about to pop.
    2. He saw scratchmarks coming from different directions (which lets the killer know there are at least two people not working on gens)
    3. You are about to enter the second stage of the sacrifice or die on hook.

I've camped the hook for a while a few times when all or at least two of these conditions are met.

  • I honestly think pallets are already strong as they are, I doubt they need to be buffed in any way.

    There's plenty of Endgame perks.

    Sure, but not endgame hex perks. I think you missed the point;

" I think this will serve two porpuses; one is making the game last a bit longer and also test if adding some sort of secondary objective will actually slowdown the game a bit."

    Also:

"At the higher ranks I rarely see killers running noed. I think they don't use it because they feel they don't need it and maybe because they feel it's a crutch perk."

Feel like this right here is just a good reason to bring a mori...

Yes, I remember a game in which a Claudette kept sabotaging my hooks and running to a corner of the map.

I was going to hook her, but then noticed there were no hooks around so I dropped her and killed her.

    You never know.

  • I think adding any secondary objective that implies exploring or running around the map will nerf all hex totems anyway.

  • I don't know, but these game seems to attract certain type of personality with antisocial and sociopathic tendencies. I play quite a few online games, but this community is the most toxic community I know.

  • What if noed gets nerfed then?

I sorta like the idea of endgame hex perks, makes the killers more scary and unpredictable and would make games last longer. I also like the idea because it's a mechanic we are all already familiar with, which is simply cleansing maybe a couple of totems, there are four survivors after all.

  • Like I said in another thread, I'd add a little additional perk slot for killers that would be exclusively for endgame hex perks, noed would fall into this category. I can think of a couple of new hexes; a hex that shows the killer the survivors' auras or a hex that prevents the survivors from interacting with the exit gates for 80 seconds. Adding a variety of endgame hex perks wouldn't let you know what to exactly expect as a survivor once all gens are done, making the endgame unpredictable.

Of course, a totem counter would be needed.

  • The red rank potatoes are probably the survivors being carried by their swf friends.

By the way, they already tried making it harder to pip as survivor and red rank killer ques were too long.

  • @rubberduck said:

Make ruin punish survivors soloing a gen, make it regress faster and make ruin respawn on another totem after 2 mins.

The idea of ruin respawning is good, that would be a nice buff.

  • They could make gen regression a thing even without ruin and great skill checks just avoid the regression instead of giving you the progression bonus. I also suggested in another thread to make noed basekit and add a totem counter, or make the totems do something else like blocking the exit gates like bloodwarden or something scary and game changing that forces the survivors to cleanse them. Just an idea.

  • @RakimSockem said:

The solution is to leave it alone because nothing is wrong with friends wanting to play a game together :)

Not sure if serious or trolling, I mean do you really think killers want to nerf swf because they think there's something wrong with playing with friends?

@Xerge I dont understand the urban evasion players, how can good is play this form, is to boring and break the mechanic of the game

    Playing stealfh is boring

I understand; Dead by Daylight always meant to have stealth mechanics, it's even tagged as a stealth game on steam. I don't know what you think you paid for but the game is not meant to be just about getting chased by a killer.

  • Seriously just hide, if you run around the map and try to loop he will destroy all the pallets on the map if he is on blood fury. You can try to loop him but many pallets will be gone. Again, it's better to be stealthy against him.

  • I think it's fun, he is scary, that's why i play stealthy against him, you can't run around the map while he is on blood fury. If he starts slugging just hide and wait until his power ends and pick up the first person he slugged in case he managed to slug two or more.

  • You can already check profiles and dodge, making the info available in game would only make you dodge faster if you feel like dodging, what I mean is that I think nothing will really change; killers who dodge will still dodge even if you don't show them who is on swf in game.

  • I see Pig as a killer who is meant to slow down the game rather than a stealth killer. Yeah, I know she has a stealth ability but it's only useful under certain circumstances (for example if you want to camp a hook or the survivor 3 genned themselves or if you are runnng surveillance).

Ghostface's stealth ability is far superior.

  • He is weak if you go for chases until you down someone, he seems to be good at juggling with a certain build (sloppy, thana, nurse's). Top tier? Not sure. Try juggling with him more and find out for yourself.

  • @Kenshin said:

that sounds boring to me. and i dont think its too much to ask for being able to play the actual game. or is it bhvr?

Maybe, but I'm getting what I want which are chases (not sure what you want, but I don't think you can expect to play the game normally in its current state). If you proxy camp someone will always come for the save, but you need to actually proxy camp, I mean at least leave the hook for a while to bait it.

Or you could just wait for a fix or risk kicking the gens. It's up to you, have fun.

  • Here's how I've adapted to the current situation:

I'm only playing as Oni without add ons and offerings using endgame perks (noed and rancor) and enduring for chases.

Since I can't kick the gens and play the game properly and already have endgame perks as back up I don't really care about bp, pressuring the gens or rank. I'm just proxy camping the hook to get a few chases and practice. So far I'm doing good, you should try to adapt instead of just playing normally.

  • Buff clown, get rid of the slowdown when he throws his bottles. And make pig move faster while crouched.

  • Quick idea and easy fix, but probably an unpopular one; make noed basekit and the secondary objective cleansing totems, add a totem counter and there you go, something that slows down the game a bit more and makes the game a bit scarier.

  • @Frank_Sriracha said:

How do killers get good without getting discouraged at rank 8 or so? I've got 130 hrs in and gone from anticipating every session of DBD to dreading them. All survivors are super rude, super cheesy, and super ######### annoying to play against. The rift is grindy as ######### and the Bloodweb has made an enemy of me.

What keeps killers in the game for so long?

Maybe the fact that you can still have some fun? It's gotten to the point in which I only play one match as kille per day most of the time, specially if ruin didn't last more than a minute and I had to try hard or got a ######### map for killer. After that I just play survivor for 1 or two hours straight.

  • Imagine making noed basekit - at least for now - that would give you a fast secondary objective, but they would need to add the totem counter. It may sound a bit too much, but I like the idea. Makes the game more interesting and scary.

  • I think OoO doesn't work against stealth killers anymore

  • It's simple, sometimes tunneling is what a killer has to do to apply more pressure or get at least 1 or 2 sacrifices, because there's not always enough time to do 9 chases, besides sacrifices give you more points than hooking survivors - securing a couple of kills also rewards you if you care about the emblem system and do not want to depip at certain ranks.
