absolutely, its lazy and requires no skill. its pretty much exploiting bad game design as the game was designed for u to die in 3 hooks not 1 (assuming ur not left on the hook)

Assuming you're left on the hook you can die on your first or second hook, so I don't think it's accurate to say that the game was designed for you to die in three hooks. If you happen to get hooked and you are about to reach the second stage of the sacrifice because your team isn't going to the rescue then I think the killer can take advantage of that situation from a strategic perspective. And from a moral/ethical perspective I don't think it's good to sabotage yourself when playing a pvp game if you want to win the game.

  • In the meantime you can always bring a mori just in case if you don't wanna play the guessing game.

  • I agree with you. I think the current state of ds is not balanced, because you aren't able to rush kills while survivors able to rush gens. Maybe it should be active less than a minute or it should deactivate after you've hooked someone else like you said.

  • The killers are on a strike against genrush and the spirit nerf.

You can end chases relatevly quickly but if you're a killer with no map pressure, you lose.

And you could get hit by a ds if you are too efficient at ending chases, which forces you to slug or eat a ds. As a killer you can't really rush through kills.

  • Yes and the killer has let me go a couple of times when I've failed to save the last person.

  • Here's how to open the exit gates if you are the last survivor remaining and the hatch is closed;

First of all, this will only work if you aren't playing against high mobility killers and it will be harder to do if you are playing against stealth killers like Pig and Ghostface, and it will only work if the exit gates are far away from each other.

Start opening the exit gate and stop before the bar reaches the "s" of escape. Hide for a while(do not run, you have to be stealthy so you might wanna equip urban evasion for better results) until you can hear the killer's terror radius fading away, as soon as you are out of the killer's terror radius finish opening the gate.

Guaranteed to work most of the times if the conditions I mentioned are met.

  • Another thread about genrush with some ideas how to solve it.

I don't know when they will do something about it, but in the meantime I advice you to stack on moris and run noed on every game to give the survivors the secondary objective they still haven't got yet.

I just played against a rank 5 Pig and she moried Nancy early in game with an Ivory memento mori and we still managed to power the gates and escape, it was fun but it left me wondering again who the real "power role" is here, so I advice you to stack on ebonys instead.

Just mori everything that moves, go on a killing spree until this issue is solved.

  • I have an answer, but it's really just a hypothesis.

Dead by Daylight is a product and the important people behind it want profit. I assume most of the playerbase are survivor mains, so keeping the more relevant people happy means more profit. I think this would also explain why the game used to be the way it was.

But again, it's just a hypothesis looking at it from a business perspective. Sad, but probably true.

Comparing looping with tunneling/camping makes me really sad, and just shows what kind of wrong understandings you have.Looping isnt restricting any gameplay, while the other two issues restrict any kind of gameplay. The problem here is that the Devs doesnt consider tunneling/camping as an issue thats needs to be solved, thus its one of the worst issues the game has since beginning. Thats just frustrating. Looping 3times isnt anything to compare with.

Does this mean that you think camping and tunneling are not good strategies under any circumstances and that camping and tunneling are absolutely wrong no matter what (from a moral/ethical perspective)?

  • @Shraar said:

I would say the difference between looping and tunneling/camping is that looping does NOT stop the Killer from playing the game. They can still chase, eventually catch up, mindgame, or switch to another survivor. Meanwhile, a Survivor being tunneled/camped has no choice but to sit on hook doing literally nothing, or worse, get carpal tunnel syndrome on that stupid button mashing phase.

Also, what else are Survivors supposed to do, stand still and let the killer hit them? of course they're going to loop, that's not "abusive", come on...

What is a killer supposed to do if he checks on gens and finds nobody on them, then returns to the hook and the hook timer is about to expire and notices another survivor is coming for the save? Serious question, not from a killer perspective or survivor perspective, but from a strategic perspective.

For example; I admit that looping the killer around the Ironworks of Misery is a good strategy; he will either waste a lot of time trying to catch you or leave you alone so you can return to doing gens.

However I think you won't admit that there are some broken loops in this game, but I do.

I hate ranking up, I hate being anywhere near red ranks, I just want to play a game casually and not as if the entire other team is just playing to win, not to even have fun

what do you mean? The game is a bullying simulator, the fun consists on who is more efficient at bullying their opponent.

  • You aren't rewarded for being efficient at killing survivors, you have to farm a little with them if you want to pip.

What I'm trying to say is that the ranking system is garbage.

    in Uh... Comment by Xerge
  • My advice:

To the killers; bring a mori whenever you can, trust me, it's healthy in the current state of the game.

To the devs: fix your game, starting with map rework. Get rid of long ridiculous loops only designed to waste the killer's time.

To the survivors who like to bully killers: I don't know who hurt you in your childhood and why you have sociopathic tendecies, go to therapy.

    That is all.

  • I think leatherface is fine. The main problem with this game when you reach red ranks is bad map design; too many safe pallets, ridiculuos loops that are basicaly safe zones designed to waste the killer's time, maps that are too big and don't allow low mobility killers to apply pressure.

That's what the devs should look into in my opinion. I still don't understand why they haven't removed that window at the Ironworks of Misery yet.

  • With the current state of the game in which a gen can be done in 30 seconds before you can even get to it, yes they are fair.

  • You could try with songs like this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWIE0PX1uXk

It truly moves your heart when you see them scream in agony.

I recommend the Seinfield theme at 4:48, but you can try different songs if you like.

  • I wish Bloody Coils wasn't ultra rare, it's such a good add on that makes trapper much more viable at red ranks.

  • Maybe whenever the wraith tries to uncloak, there could be a 30% chance that he accidentally drops his wailing bell and is unable to uncloak if he doesn't pick it up again.

Also, survivors could be able to pick it up, toss it around the map and hide it inside a locker.

  • Just 10 hours, huh? I'm not gonna lie, you found out that something is wrong with this game faster than most of us. Good for you, now you won't have to waste your money on skins and dlc's.

  • That would be Huntress. I am not very good at dodging hatchets. I also tend to play against a lot of huntress that proxy camp the hooks to slug both the unhooked and the survivor who did the unhook.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Yeah, I've seen sabo'ers run No Mither. The counter to that is to get them out of the match before they can create dead zones.

Sabotage, boil over and bodyblocking swf friends before you can make it to a hook. Very fun to play against.

  • It's a life saver, specially when the exit gates are opened and you just got unhooked.

The only solution is to make 2 separate queues, one for SWF and one for Solo and adjusting Killers, perks, maps and HUDs for each queue in a separate way.

This will never happen as it requires an INSANE amount of work and testing.

I have another idea, make swf queues also a kwf queues, so you can also use comms with your killer friend.

  • I would normally agree with you, but with the current state of gens at the red ranks I don't care.

  • Yeah, but you might also want to try Pop to slow down the gens and Infectious Fright to get multiple takedowns when you reach tier 3. Also, try to go for the hit if you are close enough to the survivor who is trying to loop you around a pallet, because the survivor might drop the pallet before you get stunned to avoid spirit fury, just make sure you are close enough so it's a guaranteed hit or a guaranteed pallet drop. And if you manage to get a hit and the pallet gets destroyed, it could be a good idea to save tier 3 for later. That's up to you, see what works better for you.

  • I tend to run Spirit Fury + Enduring with him. When I'm about to reach tier 3 and the survivor is running to a pallet I let the survivor drop the pallet on me so it gets destroyed by the entity before I reach tier 3, that's a guaranteed hit. I save the fourth slot to run different things like bbq and chili, monitor and abuse or pop goes the weasel. Maybe not the best build, but spirit fury + enduring helps me a lot when I want to reach tier 3 without having to waste my time breaking a pallet.

  • Well, listen to this; I recently played with my low rank friends using my low rank account and we played against a fully prestiged rank 20 Spirit with tier 3 meta perks who didn't play like a rank 20. Makes me wonder how many people have deranked and are bullying survivors like that.

  • Survivors should start the game with a trap on their head. That would make things more interesting and would adjust better to the saw lore.

    in Piggy Comment by Xerge
  • I've only been triggered by survivors who used instaheals in my face. One day I had enough and decided to bring a mori whenever I could just in case. If anyone did that I would mori them and if someone instahealed his team mate in my face I would mori them both. I don't know if you can imagine the satisfaction I felt everytime I did that.

What is triggering me now is genrush at red ranks, so I'm still bringing a mori whenever I can to deal with that.

Seriously, if you play killer I think it's healthy to bring a mori whenever you can.

As a survivor nothing triggers me more than a facecamper, if I somehow manage to open the exit gates I'll stay at the exit gates tea bagging as long as I can in the killers face just before the endgame collapse timer expires.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

I just play Tombstone Meyers when survivors complain too much.

And bring an ebony mori with you just in case.

  • I play solo all the time, but last night someone invited me to play with them and asked me to use comms. I usually don't use comms because it breaks the immersion and makes the game a lot easier for me; you know, the gen at X spot is about to pop, I'm working on a gen near the killer shack, I'm going for the unhook, killer is with me, killer is heading your way, totem is inside killer shack, pass next to this locker to head on the killer, etc.

I agreed to use comms only because we had a rank 20 who has just started playing the game and I thought it would be a good idea to use comms to even the odds because we were going against purple and red ranks.

All the free information you can get playing swf with comms is a bit too much to say the least. I don't think it's fair and balanced at all. I wish I had all that free information as a killer without having to sacrifice perk slots.

The only killers that managed to kill us all were a red ranks Nurse and a red rank Spirit. The nurse pretty much kicked our asses, but we almost escaped from the Spirit.

  • Repeated post.

    in Spirit Comment by Xerge
  • I feel the same way. I'm a rank 4 solo survivor and I can play multiple matches in a row without feeling any pressure or frustration. The only meta perks I always run are dead hard and ds to counter tunneling, I also always run We'll make it (that perk is very good and underrated). I save the forth slot to use different perks and try different things; perks like bond, better together, urban evasión, balanced landing, borrowed time or any other perk that I might find useful, but I never ever run adrenaline. I hate that one.

Most of the time I pip or safety pip. I find killer gameplay at red ranks to be much more demanding and frustrating, sometimes two matches in a row are enough for me when I play against sweaty red ranks trying to genrush.

A lot of survivors complain about killers that camp and tunnel. But its a strat that can be useful at times. Youre basically complaining about the survivor equivalent (though head on is much worse in this instance)

I play mostly as survivor and I understand that camping and tunneling can be valid strategies in some cases, so I approve them in those few cases if what you are trying to do is win the game, but if you are camping and tunneling a survivor with the intention of being annoying then I think we are talking about two different behaviours; one has the intent of winning the game and using camping and tunneling as strategies to win the game, which is completely understandable considering that we are playing an asymetrical pvp game in which both sides are trying to win.

I understand using head on to stun the killer to save a team mate is a valid strategy, but if your only porpuse as a swf team is to join match to use head on over and over again, ignoring gens in order to be annoying as possible to force him to rage quit or who knows what, then we are also talking about two different behaviours that cannot be judged equally.

  • @necromeat said:

Xerge. I am not sure I have seen that very much? Does that happen often? Sounds like a NOED disaster after getting gen rushed.

I really don't know how often it happens, but I've seen it happen to tru3talent a few times and I've read a few testimonies on the forum. Maybe it doesn't happen very often, but I imagine it must feel frustrating to manage to get a 4k at red ranks with low tier killers after a hard fought battle and still depip.

So youre complaining about being handed an easy win by survivors that dont care about gens...?

No, I'm complaining about how boring and annoying it is to go against people who do that. I'd rather have a fun game and only get a 2k than a 4k playing with idiots like these.

  • @PistolTimb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/821344#Comment_821344

But the gens still matter. They are the survivors' MAIN objective. If they don't do them, they lose. So what if you eat head on stuns? It's not like they're personally insulting your mother or kicking your dog. They're locking you in an animation for 3 seconds. Getting mad about head on is like Getting mad about a DS or surprise pallet stun. It's not game breaking or indicative of bm. This whole thread is the equivalent of Survivors complaining about tunneling and camping. Completely self centered and non sensical. I'm done with this thread as well. It was fun chatting, everybody.

No, sometimes gens do not matter because they do not have some sort of absolute value on them. I understand that the primary objective of the game is doing gens, however there can be a conflict and contradiction between the primary objective of the game and the personal motives of the player who is playing the game. And if what interests the player is camping the basement to be annoying as ######### or head on the entire match to be annoying as #########, the main objectives of the game do not matter anymore to the players involved.

  • @PistolTimb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/821335#Comment_821335

If you guys are getting frustrated when the survivors aren't pressuring gens, that is a YOU problem.

Not at all, because when the only objective survivors have is using head on over and over again just to be annoying as #########, gens do not matter anymore; I once played with a team that told me in post game chat that they didn't care about gens, so that means they just cared about being a pain in the ass.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/821325#Comment_821325

What is the problem with this?

If I take your example, nobody is doing Gens. If nobody is doing Gens, a Chase can go on for 1 hour, and it will be good for you.

Not it won't. It's boring and annoying as ######### to play a game like that. Like I said before I seriously could careless if none of them are touching the gens when all they're doing is coordinating head ons over and over again with the only porpuse of making the game as annoying as possible for the killer for the lulz. I play this for fun, not to get frustrated and bullied for the lulz, but if that's what dbd is all about, then I suppose camping and tunneling the ######### out of someone using and insidious leatherface just for the lulz is also acceptable, right?

  • @Divine_Confetti

I'll tell you what I think the problem is; if you have four people using head on to sabotage your chases, that means that if you chase one survivor there are three other survivors waiting to use head in three different lockers; at this point it becomes a guessing game, you have to stop the chase near a locker to bait the head on three times during a chase, which makes the survivor you are chasing gain more distance if you get it wrong. And even if you manage to bait one there are still three lockers to bait that can either stun you during a chase or make the survivor you are chasing gain more distance again. If you don't see a problem with this level of coordination, I don't know what to tell you. But I would love to see you play against teams like this and in case you have already played against this strategy I'd like to see how you handle it just to get better at countering this strategy, because you sound too confident when you say "I don't see the problem".

Completely wrong way of looking at it.You still have 2 people doing gens, but you also are guaranteed to lose the chase. How are you supposed to win if you lose every chase?

Not only that, it's just simply boring and annoying as #########. I seriously could careless if none of them are touching the gens when all they're doing is coordinating head ons over and over again with the only porpuse of making the game as annoying as possible for the killer for the lulz.

I really encourage every killer to bring a mori everytime they can to deal with ######### like this, just proxy camp and tunnel, you could also spam the mori if you feel like it.

“ I personally hate trying to make a game as easy as it can unless I'm really struggling with it.” Then don’t use perks, items, add ons, or offerings on either side. These make things easier for you.

But remember what I just said; "I personally hate trying to make a game as easy as it can be unless I'm really struggling with it". I've played with one or two perks many times and it does have an impact in my performance which not only hurts me, it also hurts the team as a whole. I try to play a game that is reasonably challenging for me and my team.

Anyway, if you feel like you need adrenaline because you are struggling without it then use it. I just talk from my own personal experience.

So nerf her just because she is popular?

I'm also tired of DS, adrenaline and other meta perks. Should we nerf them, too?

I never use adrenaline and I play solo all the time and I still manage to escape. I hate adrenaline with a passion from both perspectives because it just makes it easier for me as a survivor and frustrating to me as a killer. I personally hate trying to make a game as easy as it can be unless I'm really struggling with it. I play most games at the highest difficulty setting.

You know how survivors tell you; "it's not necessary to tunnel anyone to win". Well guess what, it's not necessary to run adrenaline to escape either. It's not even necessary to use comms to escape.

I know I'm off topic right now, but I felt it was necessary to point this out, because I faceplam everytime a survivor tells me it's not necessary to do this or that to win when you play killer.

    in Spirit Comment by Xerge
  • Also, you can't really expect the killer to go for 6, 7 or 8 chases when four survivors are still alive and there are only 2 gens left. I don't think survivors think they should be rewarded with free escapes. The killer is not your team mate after all and you wouldn't make it easier for the killer either. I mostly play survivor and I don't have any problem with tunneling depending on the situation, but I agree it's boring, annoying and frustrating as hell to get tunneled to death when not a single gen has been done and ruin is still active.

Use 20 seconds rule when facing SWF. In 20 seconds of chase you should get: hit, pallet or down.If you didnt - drop chase and patrol gens. Use Discordance to have info which gen prioritize to protect, drop chase as soon as Dicscordance pops unless you sure in down in next 10 seconds. Use Pop to disrupt progress on gens. Dont let them have free unhooks and heals if possible. Dont hesitate to slug persons from hooks if you are nearby, always wait for BT to expire after unhook before slugging. Prioritize fast elimination of 1 person from match.

Waiting for BT to expire is a neat trick, it's more efficient if you know the person who got unhooked already used his ds or is dead on hook. Otherwise I think I'd recommend going after the survivor who unhooked the other.
