  • No, the perk in itself is weak af, because after the timer ran out, the perk is dead.

It's like a destroyed Ruin, but the survivor don't even have to "waste time" destroying it. They just need to pick different gens, which isn't that hard to do to begin with.

  • @iceman2kx

"If they are getting completed that fast, you aren't pressuring the survivors enough. Doing gens is literally their only objective, what are you doing to stop it? "

You obviously do not get that. It is a flaw at the core of the game. The Devs never calculated the times right. They expected the survivor to play stealthy and trying to avoid the killer and bunching up to help each other. But that's not the way good survivor play. They play EFFICIENT. And the whole chase calculation is just completely off. It is a major misscalculation that puts killer at a severe disadvantage against any decent team and they do not have to be SWF, they just need to follow some simple gen rush rules and pick the right perks and can repeat that without any trouble.

Take a look at my calculations and tell me what the killer should do.

Most killer can't apply any more pressure than chasing anyone and with SELF CARE around just switching targets and spreading out the damage isn't working at all.

With ~35 sec per hit and SC needing 32 sec it doesn't help the killer in any way to switch targets and drop chases.

The killer needs survivor to make bad decisions.

If both sides play on the same skilllevel, the killer will lose with 1K max.

To get more the killer has to be waaaaay better than the survivor.

Sometimes I admit that it helps to switch targets, if you can spot a weak runner that you can take advantage off... but exactly that the Devs try to take away by artifically protect those easy kills from getting "tunneled".

  • @Telli_Fury

So please spell it out. Are you ok with punishing killer player for mistakes of the survivor player?

    @Entità

Seriously… I do not believe that people will remember your name and "take revenge" on you, just for finding Ruin or taking the hatch… you have to play like a douche to make them remember you.

  • Welcome to Dead by Genrush:

4 survivor spread out to do different gens.

    Killer can only chase one.

With 30-40 sec per hit, 3 gens will pop by the time the first victim is on the hook.

Without camping, patrolling or tunneling, you repeat the same process for the 2nd hook, because just one SWF buddy will come to the rescue, while the other 2 are already going for gens.

So you end up with 1 victim on the hook, all gens powered and the gates open 180 seconds into the game (plus the time they needed to walk the map to find the gens and maybe an extra 16 seconds for healing the first victim).

Guess why so many killer use Ruin and Noed? And guess about what perks complain the most? ;)

  • @Telli_Fury

Why do you want the killer player being punished for things the survivor player did?

  • Terrible idea. If the killer uses multiple perks to stack them up, why not? He actually paid for it.

  • "By your own logic, this is punishing killers for something survivors did."

    That's the usual survivorlogic.

Survivor do unsafe unhooks? Punish the killer.

Give them free exhaustion relief, invu frames, BT, DS... everything to cover up that it is the survivor who made a bad play.

It's always punish the killer for things suvivor did.

  • *lol*

Just for the record: I TOLD YOU SO!

It just took longer than I expected for the Devs to reverse the pallet nerf.

First they nerfed pallets, used it to "balance" killer powers accordingly and than they give the pallets back!

    Pretty good job so far.

  • @Cymer

"her very own perk that let her swap Terrorradius"

How long does the swap last on PTB?

  • @powerbats

You can't "plan ahead", because you have no indicator about who might have DS.

So nothing you said is valid.

  • Yep, I never understood while they are treated differently.

  • @Bug_Reporter

"Do you realize that you can puke until they get hurt and then give them an insta down?"

    That really made me laugh.^^

The survivor logic behind that is so weird.

A killer that has to use his power (multiple times) and the injury still needs time to build up and survivor mains call the next hit an "insta down", as if nothing happend before and the "insta down" came out of nowhere.

  • @NoShinyPony

So they will basically FORCE every killer to pick Enduring?

Because DS will get balance for killer that actually have it and every one else gets screwed.

    Pretty good job so far.

  • @HazeHound

Overnerfed? What are you talking about?

In my opinion the perk gets actually buffed. All drawbacks and valid counterplay gets removed.

The "counter" after the change would be hardcamp for 2 minutes or delay every 2nd pick up for 60 seconds. And since you don't have a clue IF the victim has DS, you need to act on every survivor as if he had it.

  • @Entità

"Nice! Why should a survivor be forced to play with facecampers or tunnelers, then? The idea only survivors can be toxic is wrong: I see too many killers who ruin survivors' game experience,"

Sorry, but you are actually wrong.

What you describe as "ruining [their] game experience" is just the killer doing his objective.

Killing people, removing them from the game. Tunneling and camping are just ways to do that. Sometimes it is just smart and efficient to do it, sometimes it is more hurting the killer than the survivor (Kill 1 while the other 3 basically get a free escape).

The thing is, the killer player is playing an evil, demonic, psycho, serial killer. His play being "toxic" is part of the job description. He is NOT the nice guy. He (or she) is the enemy, the antagonist, the villain.

If dying is "ruining your gameexperience" in general, you maybe should consider playing a different game.

To me the whole concept (that the Devs support, most likely due to popular demand) that every survivor has some sort of "right" to play each match for a certain amount of time, is still strange to me.

Someone is always the unlucky one that is removed from the match first.

If that happens to you so often that it bothers you (you not personally, but generally speaking) to the point that you dislike the game, maybe a change of playstyle would help.

Avoid getting found and chased first might help. (Seriously)

That would also help the killer enjoy the game more, because that would actually slow down gen rush if more survivor would try to avoid being first to get caught.

  • @HorsePower

"SC benefits the killer" has been debunked a 1000 times, can you please stop spreading that nonsense? Thx.

  • @Kagrenac

That statement doesn't make sense... explain...

  • TL;DR

I only read the beginning and than started cross reading it, because I soon realized that all this is just about nerfing killer and pleasing survivor.

Everything killer have and could do is deemed unfair/unfun.

Let alone his view about Noed and Ruin. Just delusional.

  • If you don't want to get dodged by name:

Don't play like a douche that killer want to remember and avoid.

    Don't using mocking nicknames.

Don't use clantags (along your teammates that want to rub into into the killers face, that they are SWF).

Don't use streamertags (some people seriously don't want to be publically bullied on stream, just for others entertainment).

  • @Okuu46

Your opening post is spot on.

The issue is that the Devs only care about the survivors "fun".

When the meme pops up that "everyone should have fun" that excludes the killer.

    Everyone = every survivor.

Killer need to remove player from the team to get an edge, but the Devs support the delusional idea that every survivor has some sort of "right" to participate in the match for a certain amount of time and shouldn't be eliminated "to early" no matter how bad they play or how good the killer played.

  • Do you remember when everyone said "if BT bothers you, don't camp!"?

That basically became a meme, because it doesn't work in reality. Survivor mains kept claiming it to defend their point, but there are tons of situations that would trigger BT without the fault of the killer.

Same is now for the upcoming DS. "If it bothers you, don't tunnel!"

That won't work either, because both -BT and DS- are just covering up survivor making bad plays/unsafe unhooks.

Survivor get stupid trainingwheels for playing stupid and the killer gets punished for it.

That logic is just plain bad gamedesign.

And it is really pathetic how survivor mains keep defending it this way. No reason, no real arguments, just memes, social stigmatisation and peer pressure.

  • @Poweas

    Your sarcastic, right?

  • So killer should be balanced around bad connections?

    That will be interesting.^^

  • If I get my Remember Me stacks and kill the obsession to avoid him being unaffected by said perk and another obsession pops up… I am "delusional"?

If I avoid hitting or killing the obsession most of the game, just to get and keep my stacks from STBFL or PWYF and all of a sudden that obsession switches… I am "delusional"?

Maybe I even choose to pair those perks (STBFL/PWYF) with Rancor, to get a tactical advantage of not hooking him and just Mori him at the end... and still I am "delusional"?

(Feel free to take my questions rethorical if you don't have a decent response.)

  • @Kagrenac

"It got its stun weakened, it now has a pre-requisete, and can be denied activation by slugging.

If you're that scared: dont tunnel, run deerstalker and enduring or something to counter it.

    Adapt."

Oh yea… the old meme… killer "just need to adapt", but survivor will cry havoc if the would need to adapt.

They rather DC against Freddy or Legion.

    1. The reduced stun is already said to be "under review", even before it hits the PTB.
    2. The "prerequisite" is basically non existent and can only "countered" by a full 2 min camp.
    3. "Don't tunnel" is the next meme. That already did not work with BT. "Just don't camp" didn't work with BT. The new DS will just encourage survivor to do unsafe unhooks and the killer gets punished for their bad plays. Sorry, but that is just straight unfair.
    4. Just run perk X, has never been a valid idea, because killer would need to run like 5 perks "just in case" anyone has perk Y. Not to mention all the perks killer have to run to counter survivor abilities that don't even need a perk to perform.

And ofc don't forget to spice that up with a nice "if you are scared" to make the killer look like a sissy, if he has a valid complain.

Social Stigmatisation is always good to avoid reason. ;)

  • @artist

All counterplay gets removed, no dribbling, no indicator that someone might have DS to prepare (while survivor still get all sort of notifications for every possible surprise).

(The only true counter to DS is simple, hard camp. Don't let them off the hook, first hook = last hook = no DS. Sounds fun, huh?)

Skillcheck gets easier, so UP and Madness won't stop it anymore.

Stunreduction is still "under review" and I expect it to not make it live.

Survivor don't need to be the obsession and wiggle for certain amount of time, so all 4 can pick DS now with no drawback.

Since there is no way of knowing killer have either to slug and risk a pick up to wait the timer out, or just eat the DS.

Enduring is only a "soft counter" IF the actual "stun" is 3 seconds and not again some shinanigans with animationtime doesn't count or some similar crap, like before.

And in a drive by all killer obsession perks get trashed (DL, STBFL, PWYF, Remember me).

Which also result in no tactical gameplay around the obsession anymore.

  • Blocklist don't work, because that would work both ways.

  • Simple cover up for survivor doing unsafe unhooks.

  • I actually think that the whole "rework" will end up as a BUFF to DS.

  • You cure/treat DEEP WOUNDS and it is not considered "healing"... yea, perfectly logic.

    :P

  • No matter how we twist this.

Mending, Snap Out, Fountain drinking… all of that should be considered "healing".

Anything else is just trying spoon feeding survivor and find a reason for killer perks not to trigger.

  • @MhhBurgers

"Yeah let's ignore that currently only 2 killers can hope to defeat great survivors"

They don't need to be "great". Just decent.

  • @douggie123

    "Coulrophobia might resolve this issue"

I don't think so. First, you have to be within the TR. 2nd I think it will get the same treatment as Snap out and Mending… it is healing, but is not affected by anti healing perks.

    *puke*

  • It makes most obsession perks useless.

Dying Light, Remember me, STBFL, PWYF... all will get trashed.

  • "If it is gonna take 5 seconds, healing will be too powerful tbh."

You can see the animation during the stream. Using a fountain is like 4 seconds.

  • Why should that perk be especially powerful on Spirit?

I think it's a weak and very situational perk. What should change that on Spirit?

  • Ok, found it.

So the survivor can get injured later?

Is it know what happens if the survivor was already injured, will he just get "broken" or will he actually go down?

Will the "improved puke" injure only or can I down an injured survivor with it?

Will the magical fountain just remove the sickness or actually heal?

If using the fountain is healing, will it get treated like actual healing (Nurse calling anyone)?

  • @Orion

"When "fully sick", they're damaged and become Broken."

    When did they say that?

  • Everybody knows what people think about the female designs of DBD, but everyone is to afraid to spell it out.

And for sure I am not that guy. :P

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9knToyK-wUs

  • Did I miss the part where the Devs said what exactly the effect of "sickness" will be??

Some people stat it here like it is clear for everyone. Where did I miss that info?

  • @fluffybunny

"If" ;) I don't expect him to be able to explain to me in what situation they would be "aight".

-Dark Devotion would need a decent long timer on the terrorradiusswitch and since he said "a few seconds" it is most likely a complete waste. Especially since it already has a strict limitations, because it only works on the obsession

-Infectious Fright (######### your pants) is just a QoL perk. Very situational if might help you to avoid a palletstun safe or flashlight… but not really worth a perkslot.

-Corrupt Intervention is way to weak. "A few seconds" at the start of the match and than the perk is gone for good. That is like Ruin removed immediately at the start.

  • "Survivors perks are ######### like usual. Killers perks are aight."

#########? The opposite way around, dude.

All 3 killer perks look like trash to me.

  • If the Devs mentions something like "a few seconds" , from my experience, it is max 5 seconds, so I expect those perks to be trash.

  • Mclean is the one that looks like Dwight. :P

  • McLean constantly said that "for a few seconds…"

So it sounds like it is very short and... pretty much useless.

  • Those perks really sound weak.

    "For a few seconds…" *rolleyes*

  • The killer perks sound really weak… as usual. *rolleyes*
