  • @The_Crusader

" its like people forget that the game needs to be enjoyable in both roles as killer AND survivor."

    That's the point.

But in literally ALL topics the term "fun" is only used for survivor.

Killer player are human beings too and they play a GAME to have "fun", but any mechanic that is "fun" for killer is getting ripped apart how "unfun" that is for survivor.

  • The game is survivorsided and they come to the forum to complain about being underpowered and get mad that people do not agree with them.

So their conclusion is "this forum is a killer echochamber!"

Of course it has nothing to do with your ideas being bad and/or outrageous , or the game being survivorsided.

    Nonono...

  • @Orion

"I think the following offerings can be retired, for reasons I'll explain.

    • Fog modifiers. My thinking here is the same as the devs' when they retired lighting modifiers. It'll make map design easier and remove some of the clutter from bloodwebs.
    • Shrouds. The code for these seems to work most of the time, but when it fails, it fails hard. They're also backwards - killers would prefer survivors to be closer together, whereas survivors would prefer to be apart. Like the previous offerings, this would remove some of the clutter from the bloodweb.

    What do you think?"

Fog modifiers are ok, but killer should have ONLY fog reducer offerings. And those should exist in matching power of survivors offerings.

Shrouds are all the wrong way around. Survivor want to be spread out and killer want them to be clustered up. Most killer have an advantage to find the survivor close together (Doc, Leatherface, Legion are the ones that come to mind immediately).

  • @KillerRaccoon

"She’s definitely gonna be stronger at lower ranks."

So it's the same as with every killer...

  • @Arroz

"No, they are not balanced, they are weak.."

And you want back the overpowered versions?

Insta repair a complete gen with just a click?

Insta blinds, like laserbeams, that even worked when hitting from the side or through walls?

  • @Ihatelife

    "Then stop tunneling?"

    Again a nice survivor meme.

The same excuse came with Borrowed Time.

"It only affects camper, so don't camp."

But in reality there have been waaaaay to many situations where BT triggered without the killers fault and the same will happen to DS.

Survivor do stupid plays and unsafe unhooks, just because they know they are protected by their crutch mechanics (DS, BT, free exhaustion relief, invu frames).

  • Omg... a decent killer… let's better nerf her asap to bring her to a proper powerlevel… somewhere between Legion and Freddy. :P

Nice again that everything is a "free hit", even if it is the use of a power. @.@

  • I just started watching this video…

    An OP build with Devour?

1st match 2 DCs on first catch... not really showing the power of a killer. :/

    …

maybe the video shows more later… :P

  • @Ihatelife

So it is no buff that the skillcheck will become easier?

Or that everyone can use it now without the need to wiggle 35%?

Or that there is no warning for the killer that the victim has DS?

    Or that drippling got removed?

    Did I miss something?

Oh yea, and of course that all other killer obsession perks are trashed with that change. :P

  • The Enduring description has always been misleading.

75% sounds great… but the real ingame mechanic is mediocre at best.

  • Wow... this survivor logic… they get one of their most favorite perks buffed and complain about it being SOFT-countered IF all killer are using that one perk.

  • Look... we found the survivor main.^^

  • Moris needs to get nerfed, but keys are perfectly fine, right?

  • @TheHourMan

"Legion will always win 1v1. Legion will always lose 4v1. Gen rush 4 gens simultaneously. Legion gets crushed."

    Every killer should win 1v1.

And the rest ist true for every killer.

  • @Orion

You can't convince them… they ignore science. #flatearth

  • What is this "no heal meta" people are talking about?

    I have NEVER seen that.

  • @Yamaoka

Dude, seriously? You are really desperate in defending SC, huh?

Even the unlimited, self sufficient use of SC is op AND it is way to fast.

1 survivor using SC = 1 survivor not doing objectives for 32 seconds

1 survivor getting healed by another = 2 survivor not doing objectives for 16 seconds

And you still can't see the issue with SC?

  • @TheHourMan

"You have been directly contradicted and THIS is your response? "

    Actually… yes?

You can contradict anything… it that alone doesn't change it.

There are people contradicting that the earth is round.

  • @brokedownpalace

Your narrative is simple: Balance everything around the most stupid survivor.

Easy win for any decent survivor, that actually know what they are doing.

This is a common misconception among survivor mains, killer stuff always needs to get balanced around the best killer ("nerf BBQ! to stronk on Billy!") and best player ("I saw Tru3 4k without perks, nerf killer!") , but the same does not apply to survivor.

  • @brokedownpalace

I am not sure… I can't decide between *yawn* or *lol*

Literally NOTHING you say is changing anything I said.

Killer complaining about gen rush, because 3 gens pop when the first victim gets on the hook. Guess what? That's 3 other survivor just doing 3 different gens. Do the math.

Your 2nd point I already adressed, just reread it. Nothing I posted is faulty, because I can only grab an injured survivor from a vault and I can only pull potato survivor from a gen.

And your 3rd point is again a survivor meme: balance the game so that even survivor playing like idiots can win.

Sorry, dude, just drop it, the only way you can win this debate by stubbornly repeat your nonsense and make false claims, because I don't let myself get dragged into pointless never ending debates that I already won.

  • @brokedownpalace

Do the math, buddy. From ingame experience we all know that a single chase is enough for a single survivor to do a gen. A gen takes 80 seconds without any great checks or toolboxes, so each M1 hit takes 30-40 seconds. So we can assume 35 secs per hit. Less if it is a potato survivor, much more if it is a good juker. A good bit more at the start of a match with all pallets available, a bit less when most pallets are gone late in the game. But as a baseline ~35 secs is pretty realistic. So it takes the killer roughly the same amount of time to get a hit, as the survivor would need to spent with SC to heal himself up, actually the survivor is done faster. According to the idea that "SC is benefiting the killer" switching targets after a hit instead of downing them would be beneficial to the killer and keep survivor "off gens", right?

But the killer already spent 35 seconds to do the hit, giving the rest of the team 35 seconds to do objectives (3x35) and afterwards it keeps ONE survivor "off gens" for 32 seconds, while the killer again can only chase one other survivor, while the rest can still go on doing objectives. After 35 seconds the game hasn't actually changed for the killer, because only one survivor is injured, but the other survivor had time to do objectives (2x35).

The killer did not gain anything from switching targets, which should be the idea behind "SC is benefiting the killer". Because SC is unlimited the single hits that do not down someone are basically meaningless.

  • @Orion

Anyway… I could deal with the trade off.

  • @Orion

DC won't derank you. You need to hit the "leave" button.

But that is a completely different issue.

This is about the issue to block the stairs to take the game hostage.

I rather want a solution that does not cause another disadvantage to killer that don't abuse the mechanic, but simple use it in a tactical manner.

Widening the stairs would just make the the basement less scary.

  • @Orion

I fail to see the issue… just leaving is much faster for deranking, just AFKing is not doing much anyway. Leaving every other match will derank more efficient than AFKing multiple matches in a row.

  • The solution for this would be pretty simple: if a killer stays still for at least 2 minutes, he will lose his collisionbox.

That can't be to hard to program.

  • I P3d almost all my killer and still have only 3 that are fully decked out with all perks on max level.

The rest has good perks to go with, so I can't really complain, but some perks are just not available to all my killer.

For that reason I never prestiged any survivor, because they have even more perks and the grind to get what you need is even longer.

  • @Yamaoka

I told you that I do NOT want to derail this topic. There are tons of topics about this issue already.

  • @Strider

"I thought gen rushing was referring to multiple survivors piling onto a single generator at the same time to complete generators faster but thanks for the clarification."

Gen rush is best done with each survivor taking on a different gen.

  • @BACKSTABBER

"Juggling: drop and take surv few times before hook to avoid getting DS'ed"

    That is actually wrong.

    It's called "dribbling".

"Juggling" is usually used to describe a killer keeping multiple survivor in check.

  • @Yamaoka

Oh sorry, you really thought I want a full list? I just mentioned a couple of survivor things that do not have a real counter to show the issue that not all things in this game have a true counter and so the point I quoted is not true for this game.

    But anyway...

I stopped reading it right here: "SC/ Self Care hurts the survivors more than it helps most of the time. "

As soon as someone mention this nonsense he lost all credibility.

This is nothing but a survivor meme, with no reason or mathematic behind it.

I don't want to go off topic and delve into people who don't understand or just try to hide the power of SC. That issue would drag a ratstail behind that would derail the thread. Despite gen rushing and spreading out (self sufficient with SC) IS the best way to deal with Legion.

But feel free to try again and make a serious post without that and we can talk.^^

  • @Demandreed

The only thing that needs to moved to "unranked" is SWF.

    :P

And restricting add ons will hurt killer much much more than survivor.

There are tons of killer that really need their good add ons, while survivor don't even need items to begin with.

  • Blocking the stairs is legal.

    15 sec to avoid BT.

Upcoming DS "rework" would justify 60 seconds.

And actually you could already block survivor from entering the basement for a rescue if you want to and it would not count as "taking the game hostage".

Only waiting out any longer, for no tactical reason is considered a banable offense.

  • @Demandreed

Sorry, but I stopped reading right here "3.) Camping and tunneling are restricted. "

    Terrible idea.

  • @brokedownpalace

"Probably one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here."

So if everything needs a counter in your opinion, where are the counter to SC, SB, DS, BT, CS, ADR, etc.?

Killer don't have counter to all the survivor stuff, but strangely many player think that survivor should have counter to anything that the killer could bring to the table.

  • @Judgement

Without a pretty good trade off that nerf would ruin Legion.

He is already very weak and survivor DC on him despite being weak, which is really annoying af.

  • @Judgement

So you actually want to NERF one of the weakest killer in the game??

  • @Judgement

Reveal aura would get blocked by lockers.

And a set distance would be either a nerf or a buff, depending on what distance you think about.

  • Those Swamp building with the 2 windows side by side… you never get them blocked, because the survivor can just switch which one they use.

  • That's what I said...

  • Swamp -especially Pale Rose- makes me wanna DC if I play killer.

And by seeing how many survivor use offerings to get that map, they very well know that it is a bullcrap map for killer.

Visibility is bad there from the get go, but someone bring another mist offering and it is like flying blindfolded.

  • The map is one of the worst maps for killer.

    Only rivaled by bloodlodge.

Way to big to pressure and both styles of play -stealth and looping- are supported by the map.

  • @thekatedenson

I expect you actually to know better, but you are just posting this to further an agenda, but...

the right metaphor for this would be: A good craftsman can still do his work with bad tools, but he could do much better with better tools.

Can I put a nail in a wall with a shovel? Yes.

Would I prefer a hammer? Heck yea.

  • Believe it or not, because most likely everybody in this forum knows me as a killer main arguing for killer buffs, but some of these more "aggressive" items I would like to see.

    Like:

    Item: Hairspray

Add ons: storm lighter and duct tape.

    or:

Item: "Ghostgun", a double barrel sawed off shotgun, decorated with weird mystical stuff

Add ons: handmade shotgunshells loaded with stone salt, so that the shot ain't lethal, but could affect supernatural creatures (short ranged attack, with a decent spreadarea to stun)

At the moment we are not in the spot to do anything like this, because the gamebalance is to far to the survivor, but in general I would love those ideas.

  • Like I said: I am a killer main, but when I play survivor (mostly solo) my usual loadout is:

-SC (because it is way to good to skip)

-SB (because it counters so many killer abilities)

-Bond (because I need the Infos what is happening around me)

-IW (It helps me actually lose the killer)

Sometimes I change IW to a different perk, but most of the time it looks like this.

  • @Kind_Lemon

That would be an awesome buff to shadowborn.

    Some effect similar to distortion.

  • @Nea_Death_Experience

To me this was so blatantly obvious that I real did not understand that someone can miss out anything so obvious.

    Seriously sorry, for that.

  • @Nea_Death_Experience

"I would love to see your views but I have no interest in your salt simply because i didnt consider somthing."

If you can't connect the dots… education is something you have to do on yourself.

You call me salty while you are complaining to globally nerf something that is only "powerful" on 1 (maybe 2) out of 14 killer.

    The survivor doublestandards are… weird.

You want killer stuff balanced around the most powerful killer. But you don't see any problem in survivor stuff being balanced around the worst player.

But it's me who is salty… yea, sure.

Maybe you could shed some light on this by anwering the question (questions are those marked with a "?") instead of calling it something I quoted (quotes are those thinks marked with this -> "...").

In fact the thing that you seem to missunderstand is: ALL killer should be on the powerlevel of Billy.

  • I personally like to play stealthy (I even stealth Docs) but that is mostly because I suck at looping. :P

    (Killer main btw! XD )

  • I love those survivor memes. *rolleyes*

    Do people really believe that?

You can all the same things to Legion as to every other killer… it's just a little more difficult… he still can get looped, his FF is not infinite, his stun hits him in bad situations, he can still get palletsstunned and blinded, he can get juked, he an't see scratchmarks.

And most important his hits don't even take you down.

He has an power that encourages him to switch targets (and give free heals).

  • Self Care!!!

    Speed Boost!!

    DStrike!

And than all the runner ups for the 4th slot (Adr, UE, BT, Deliverance)

Maybe even the niche things if you find room for it (because you can't hit DS): Well make it, Unbreakable, Prove Thyself, Well gonna live forever.

Perhaps you want to replace SB with a different exhaustion perk, but I would say SB is superior, because of the ease of use.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 50
