  • It's actually more than 4%, because you can roll for it 3 times.

And yes, as a killer, this happens waaay to often to be anywhere near 4%.

  • The only thing that needs to change about NOED is survivor complaining about NOED.

The speech about "Noed has no requirements to trigger", that is the foundation of this thread, is utterly wrong. Noed needs all gens done AND still a dull totem to trigger it and even than the Hex can get found and destroyed.

And those things are not enough "requirements"?

Please for gods sake stop spoonfeeding survivor.

They just have to spent the time cleansing totems and always expect the killer to run Noed until proven wrong. Problem solved. Noed is like the new "reworked" (*cough*buffed*cough*) DS. It's existence along should slow the game down, no matter if the killer really has it or not.

  • @ShyN3ko

"I think it was 3 minutes or not?"

3 min is the respawn time for hooks.

    Sacrifices are 2 minutes.

But for the calculation it hardly matters, because the timer start with the chase and not the hook.

So with an average hit taking 35 seconds, the first 3 gens are literally done on the first hook anyway.

  • @Entità

Your idea would keep Thana trash.

Because with SC everywhere no one stays injured for a long time anyway and that debuff would never apply and for sure not stack up.

I know a lot of people talk about "no heal" right now, but I haven't seen that in game really happening. It's not a "meta" (yet) and I doubt it ever will be.

  • As others already mentioned, the line is pretty clear.

Block the stairs is legal to wait out BT or any similar effects or to prevent people from going down to hook.

Because this is NOT "taking the game hostage". It does not prevent the game from ending.

Only trapping healthy survivor in the basement, so that they have no chance to leave for an infinite amount of time is "taking the game hostage".

    Anything else is fair game.

  • @Raptorrotas

Why do all people always calculate with 4 injured survivors if they talk about Thana?

How often does that really happen?

  • @TreemanXD

"I experimented with BK, SC and resilience and I could heal myself in a little over 18 seconds, that is a quick heal and is considered balanced since I must run three perks for it, so why isn’t a 57 second heal fair if the killer waste two perk slots on it?"

YES! At least some reasonable people in this forum.^^

    100% agree.

  • Btw... just a bit off topic… am I the only one who hates the new quoting system?

  • Freddy was said to be OP on release and people still DC on him.

Legion is weak af and people still DC on them.

Doc was advertised as "breaking the game" and was so weak on release that they needed to buff him.

Even the Wraith was called overpowered on release.

    Now Plague..

  • @HeroLives

So you tell me that basically you or your team actually won the match, but you just complain about it taking 15 - 30 minutes?

Nice, I get those complains a lot, because I play Doc a lot and good matches are 20+ min (no, I am not actively go for a 3 gen strat, but most survivor bring that upon themself) and the survivor always ######### at me in the after match chat.

Sorry, but 4-5 minute matches are no "fun" for killer and the game should be "fun for all", right?

  • I miss the old original SFTS.

No range limit and the crows checked for an alert when a survivor just came near them (no need to make them fly off).

  • @Watery

Oh I missed out on this pearl:

" Not to mention the unnecessarily long games one may go through."

Tell me please how long is an "unnecessarily long game"?

  • @HeroLives

Sad for you. I always try to take people serious, until they prove otherwise.

You flirting pretty hard with that line.

The survivor memes are very strong with you.

  • @jackkn12

"Thats what i dont under stand about camping now is it because survivors complaned about camping so now its not a good thing to do now?"

    Simple answer: yes.

Survivor complained and the Devs try to please them.

Camping was a legal tactic from day one on, but since entitled survivor don't like it, the Devs try to punish it little by little.

And this will go on and on, always just a little step, untill killer are forced to give free unhooks and can't tunnel.

At that point all killer could as well get replaced by AI bots, because the free will how the killer wants to play is removed at that time.

  • *lol*

The "fun for all" only works for survivor. That is always brought up if survivor would "suffer", than it is all about "fun for all".

Killer don't like getting gen rushed. Survivor don't like pressing M1.

Simple solution, don't do it. Do not press M1 as survivor and both problems are solved.

    XD

Get some stuff straight. This is about BALANCE, not "fun".

  • Most killer mains play survivor from time to time anyway.

But a lot of survivor mains never ever touch the killerside.

  • @OrionsFury4789

Your really don't get the point, huh?

Ok, buddy, I try to spell it out for you.

It doesn't matter that YOU specifically aren't complaining about it.

The survivor part of this community is continously complaining about things that contradict each other. And in most cases it's actually the very same people that do it. In some cases -like yours- they only preach one side of it. But in the big picture it won't matter, because right after some survivor says things like you said, the next will pop up and ask for a "solution for tunneling".

"We want more secondary objectives" - "We should be able to ignore totems; nerf Ruin; Noed OP"

"Killer should stop tunneling and switch targets instead" - "NewThana OP" - "SC is fine" - "SC benefits the killer" - "If the killer loses the injured, he deserves to heal up" - "If a killer can't kill anyone before the last gen is done, he deserves to lose"

  • @HeroLives

I want to see that become real. If we really see Doc becoming the new top killer, just by running Sloppy+Thana becoming Omega Nurse level.

Oh but wait… no we don't want ANY killer that is really top tier, right?

A killer that is using a good perk is always "abusing" it, right?

    That's the survivors perspective.

Survivor never do that, they just "use what they need to survive". Killer "abuse" powers.

    #doublestandards

  • So we have two issues.

    1. Killer need more time.
    2. Survivor don't like getting slowed down.

So lets see who the Devs want to please with this update?

    Any guesses? :P

  • @HeroLives

Playing fair? What do you mean by "playing fair"? Give free unhooks, free heals, not "tunneling"?

How should any killer "abuse" that?

What "unfair advantage" are you talking about?

Are we actually talking about the same game?

  • Ok, I stopped reading right here: "While for instance ‘milk-face’ or michael myers is way to OP and needs to be nerfed to be honest".

    Myers is OP???

    Serious?

    …

Oh wait, it's getting even better: "I had a game a couple days ago where the 4 survivors spawned together and were on their way to the generator when ‘a greedy killer used the one-hit-down, ran into us and DOWNED ALL 4 OF US WITH ONE HIT OR STRIKE -> this is an example of how f*ck*d up that can turn out. So i think that needs to be (re)evaluated again somewhere in the future. Not straight from the 1st second in the game being able to do so."

    *lol*

So the killer was "greedy" for taking advantage of survivor playing stupid?

What killer should have done that? Leatherface is the only one that could do that.

And Leatherface is one of the low tier, underpowered killer!

If he managed to mow you all down with one swing of bubbas ol' saw, YOU screwed up.

This is a hit happen in 1 in a 1000 times. Gratz to the LF and I really wish to see that on YouTube or twitch to make me laugh.^^

  • @HeroLives

Actually that buff would have made killer play like survivor always tell them to.

Spread out the damage, switch targets.

That's what survivor wanted killer to do all the time, because tunneling and camping is "cheesy" and "unfun".

Now they had a buff on PTB that would actually encourage that kind of playstyle, but survivor complain again and call it "brutal".

So in a nutshell survivor want the killer to spread out the damage and switch targets, but they don't want him to have any advantage from doing that.

Survivor want the cake and eat it.

  • @OrionsFury4789

"I never complained about camping or tunneling you're delusional,"

Thx for the nice little insult. :P

Actually that's the state of the forum.

1/3 complains about camping and tunneling.

1/3 says if the killer doesn't kill before the gens are done, he deserves to lose

    1/3 is agreeing on BOTH.

  • Are you aware that the Devs just recently nerfed bloodlust?

I don't think we will see any buffs to it any time soon.

Don't get me wrong, I totally disagree with the bloodlust nerf before, but it shows the Devs intentions about this mechanic.

    :/

  • @Mc_Harty

In this forum? No… not obvious actually. ;)

  • @OrionsFury4789

    Nope.

I have only had this 2 times in all my gametime, but both situations had not been a salty or bad killer that deserved to lose.

Actually one time this killer was ME. I had everyone in the team hooked (I think 1 only once and the other al twice), so I had decent pressure throughout the entire match.

With the last gen I tried to keep the gen from getting done and did not commit to the chases and dealt hits left and right to get them away from doing gens. So all 4 had been injured and I did a good job so far. Actually without camping or tunneling. That's the reason why I had no kill yet.

And when the last gen popped all 4 got healed and all my pressure was lost.

Instead of having 4 injured trying to get the gates, I had 4 healthy survivor and lost the endgame.

The other time I was the survivor and I played solo with the rest of the team being SWF.

Same thing, we all had been hooked and only 1 gen to go. The SWF group desperatly rescued each other like crazy; bodyblocking, unhooking. A crazy dance, where the killer was about to get the upper hand with TWO down and 1 injured.

I kept doing the last gen and hoped that at least one would have ADR and could help me to save the day.

When I popped the last Gen ALL 3 had ADR and we all escaped.

So again. You can't say the killer "deserved to lose" and complain about camping and tunneling at the same time.

With more and more ingame mechanics against that, the endgame perks get stronger and stronger.

  • @Mc_Harty

Your right, the killer should get some decent buffs now.

    If that's what you meant? ;) :P

  • @Watery

"You’re better off doing gens, which brings us back to the issue with gen rush."

A bunch of injured survivor doing gens?

    I'll take that.

So I find a survivor that I lost during the chase and he is still injured and my time spend in a chase to down him is halved despite the fact that he had the chance to heal up?

    Sounds good to me

I already explained a 100 times that an average hit against a decent survivor will take roughly 35 seconds.

Even in your worst case example healing up would only take 3.5 seconds longer, so in reality without everyone injured or the killer not running Sloppy along Thana, the net gain in time for healing up would still favor the survivor!

  • @ChesterTheMolester

    "They also nerfed Devour Hope..."

    Really?? How? In which way?

  • @jackkn12

Survivor complained about it being to long of "pressing M1"... which is "unfun" for survivor.

And all calculation examples of course included Sloppy Butcher, Self Care and 4 injured survivor... just to show that it is waaaaaay to long and unbearable to survivor to expect them to heal for sooooo long.

  • Survivor complained about it and got their way… again.

Just forget about Thana. Just don't use it. It was a bad perk before and now it got even worse. It's just a waste of bloodpoints in the bloodweb.

Killers can't have nice things, because it would spoil the precious survivors "fun".

  • The Devs just try to hide SWFs to force killer to play them no matter what.

Instead of balancing SWD, they just force it onto killer to please the survivor crowd.

  • Vanilla Nea without any of the new cosmetics is really "a pretty killer". :P

  • @twistedmonkey

Your still wrong, but I can't just rephrase everything again and again.

Just reread my posts and I will answer after you bring something new (and of value) to the debate.

Using bad map design (infinites) is not a "meta". It's basically just an exploit that needed to get fixed.

Same was true for pallet vacuum, it was just bad gamedesign that should never have made it into the game, but the Devs wanted to give the survivor an extra edge on chases.

It took them reeeeeaaaaaly long to admit that it was wrong and they fixed it.

    The rest… see above.

    Sabo meta.

    Gen rush meta.

    Now.

  • @Naiad

I am on topic, because you tried to attack the person instead of the argument, because you felt "offended".

Get your crap straight and don't attack people, because they show you your mistakes.

Correct a wise man and he will thank you.

Correct a stupid man and he will attack you.

  • @Watery

And now seriously… I get all your calculations… but please tell me what is actually WRONG about this?

The killer in you example spent TWO perks to get that effect.

And you expect them to run a third perk (NC) to make it "all so easy".

Are you aware that Sloppy already applies mangled? It's not like you can stack that.

You are talking about a 3 perk build that is DEDICATED to make healing difficult.

And you always use the numbers from FOUR injured survivor, which is a very unlikely case.

Sorry, but to me that stuff is actually balanced. Your fictional killer gave 3 out of 4 perkslot to make this work and still there is a lot of situational stuff in your calculations (4 injured, right?). And you still want to deny the killer the effects he actually paid for because of… what?

    Survivor entitlement?

    "But it is unfair"?

    I don't see your point.

  • @Ihatelife

Yea… "only" 84% of all player across all ranks.

Take away the lowbies that haven't even access to SC and the number will most likely go over 90% of all survivor.

But yea, you ARE righ… 10% is really" not all". :P

  • @Naiad

If you can't tell apart the words "newbie" and "noob", you should visit internet slang 101.

  • @twistedmonkey

"Actually it did start to happen then, when camping became the largest issue lots of killer mains laughed and said just do gens, it slowly started to come into play"

    Simply...no.

You are wrong. What survivor call "camping" has ALWAYS been an "issue".

Because it is a way to play that they do not like.

Nothing changed there. Gen rush came after Sabo.

I play this game since 2016 and so far there had been TWO survivor metas.

Sabo was the dominant way to go when I started and only stopped with respawning hooks.

From there everything shifted towards Gen Rush. Nothing changed that.

And actually we are still in the full Gen Rush meta, because the "No Heal" is not common enough to get called "meta" at all.

So no… survivor do NOT adapt.

  • @twistedmonkey

    Your logic is actually wrong.

Camping did not lead to gen rush.

Gen rush came when sabo was nerfed and everyone ran SC.

SC is still op and in most cases "no heal" meta is just plain stupid.

Survivor actually refuse to adapt at all cost. As far as DCing on any killer that would force them to play different; Nurse, Doc, Freddy, Legion.

Don't sing the song of survivors "adapting", because they haven't done that for years.

Instead they came to the forum and complained about anything until it got nerfed.

Now killer learned from them and make their voice heard, now the survivor complain about the forum being "controlled by killer mains".

  • @Dwight_Fairfield

Please explain to me what is "sensible" about that answer?

The calculation is about the killer picking TWO perks to slow down healing and Thana at MAX effect with all 4 survivor injured.

And the survivor is using SELF CARE in this example.

So it's the most favorable situation for the killer with the slowest way to heal (without Botany Knowledge or a med kit, etc.).

And THAT is the reason for a buff to a super weak perk not making it through the PTB?

    Sensible? Serious?

  • For me.

    As survivor: I like to… survive. :P

I do not enjoy chases, because I am bad at it. I gens and totems. And in general I try to drag my part in bringing as many of us out as I can, without sacrificing myself. I play stealthy if I can and run when I have to. I try to help my team as much as I can, because they are my key to my surviving. I have "fun" when I think I played smart and made good tactical decisions.

    As killer:

    Killing. XD

I am not enjoying the chase itself. The "fun" is in the success. I like playing the powerrole. Haters can come and call me out for having ego issues, but hey "it's a game". When real life is stressed out, I find it enjoyable and relaxing to be the big bad for a moment. That's why I like the whole package about a killer. If cocky survivor are disrespectful and want to get chased or just unhook in my face, it breaks my immersion of the game. Being a threat should make them try to avoid me and I have to outsmart them and find them. And in a chase, the killer should win… the powerrole should always win any 1v1 situation. That's part of the asymetrical aspect of the game. Getting hooks, sacrifices, moris, bleedouts.

Outsmarting them and making good tactical decisions. (Yes, that includes clustering gens, not giving free unhooks and going for the injured)

  • I encountered that "meta" only once so far.

At the end of the match they all stopped healing and just rushed the last gen like crazy and tanked hits for each other and when the last gen popped POOF all healed and running.

I admit that it was pretty annoying, but I wouldnt call it "meta".

  • Maybe I join the coughing-squad.

    *cough*sprint burst...wraith*cough*

  • @Ihatelife @Master

Enduring never really countered DS. First a counter would stop something from happening. And Enduring doesn't do that to begin with. Than the numbers in the description are misleading. 75% only applies to the "recovery", but the whole drop animation is excluded from that. So the reduction is much less than you would expect.

And it will be the same with the new DS.

  • @Watery

"Just my take on it: It's not good for gameplay. With the PTB values and combined with sloppy butcher, it would take a survivor ~57 seconds to self care. That's almost an entire generator's worth of time.

"That's great, though," you might say. But what ends up happening is much like what you're seeing now. Because healing takes so long, you're much better off doing generators instead and waiting for adrenaline to heal everyone. To which you might say, "But the generators would be 24% slower." While true, that adds about 20 seconds per generator (solo).

    Added time to generators: 20 x 5 = 100

    Time spent healing: 57 x 4 = 228

Worth noting that you might and probably will get hit more than once, so you'd have to repeat that for each time you get hit. Take your pick, would you rather spend an extra 100 seconds on generators *and* get healed, or an extra 228+ on healing and then still have the generators to deal with?

On the surface it seems like a great idea, but it's further encouraging not healing and instead doing generators as fast as possible, which I think is something we can all agree isn't fun.

That was Peanits’ reply to a thread similar to this."

Can we please stop acting like SLOPPY BUTCHER is a given?

If the killer choose to spent a second perk on a similar effect, he has all the rights to expect a decent result in combining them. It's called synergy.

And if survivor choose to stay injured, fine, enjoy the next chase with only 1 healthlevel.

If you want to go that route, fine, I enjoy using Bloodhound. Maybe you enjoy using IW.

If they don't want to spent the time healing, I -as a killer- enjoy the shorter chase and the easier down.

  • @The_Crusader

"I'm guessing the disconnect against Legion would go even higher if they did."

Other player playing like garbage douchebags, should never be a reason for a balance change.

Survivor DCing on one of the weakest killer in the game is just pathetic.

  • @Naiad

"Not really. The main problem is what people define as fun in game. Killers want longer matches so they suggest buffs to perks etc. But the suggestions usually mean survivors holding m1 for longer. Survivors have said time and time and time and TIME again that making them hold m1 for longer is NOT the way to go. There’s a reason some survivors go looking for the killer it’s because for them the chase is fun and holding m1 at a gen isn’t. So giving them m1 to hold for longer, like Thana buff or Legion, makes it unfun/tedious for them. There has to be other suggestions that would benefit killers but not make it tedious for survivors."

No one said that just increase gen time (holding M1) is a good idea.

Complaining at the same moment about Thana buffs or healing is a total different topic. Self Care for example is way to easy. If you don't like the M1 aspect of it, fine, we can talk about making SC even faster to use IF we limit it in the amount of uses (3x per match is enough, with no chance to regain any uses ofc).

But 2ndary objectives have always been an idea and they got tested in form of … guess what… TOTEMS.

And again guess what happend? Survivor either hate them (Ruin, Noed, etc) or simple want to be allowed to ignore them completely.

Another major flaw you mentioned is "Survivor have fun in chases". That is NOT meant to be. Being chased should be threatening, not "fun". This only shows the survivors overconfidence, cockyness and utter disrespect for the killer, who is not a real threat to them. The killer is just the party clown to play pig in the middle with.

The "fun" in playing killer is being the powerrole. The other are supposed to see you as the big bad MF and should try to avoid you. You can call it an ego issue all you want, but that's what's FUN about playing killer.

  • @Ihatelife

"If I can win without tunneling, the rest players also can."

So... can draw really well… I mean like really well… so because I can, everyone can do it, right?

Do you notice the problem with that logic?

Even IF you can, that is not like a proof of balance.

This is again the issue with "killer stuff should get balanced around the top player, while survivor stuff should get balanced around average player".

It doesn't work. Balance doesn't work with different rules for both sides.

  • @NathanExplosion

    Yep, pretty much spot on.

Force killer to give free unhooks and switch targets.

Play like survivor like them to play.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 50
