But survivors don't do gens that's the issue. Because either they feel bad about letting someone die on their first hook, or they don't want tk be oenalized for points.

So the killer walks away from the hook a little bit to bait the survviors to unhook, they do it, then the killer runs backto catch the unhooked survivor becore they can get away.

Don't give me this garbage about "rush gens" because you have absolutely ZERO control over what other survivors do. Hence ehy I said it's only worth playing in SWF. Plus there's the fact that its just boring.

And its hard to tell how good the survivor is at looping because they only get 1 chance at it. After the first hook the killer will never let them get away.

Its a garbage toxic playstyle and its about time people that only played killer stopped making excuses for it. Especially given how much you all complain about how survivors play.

So you want the killer player to get punished, because your teammates male bad plays?
How much "fun" would that be for the killer player?
Does the killer player have a "right" to have "fun" also, or is that exclusive for survivor player?

  • @The_Crusader said:
    Seriously.

If the game isn't lagging unbearably then it's just a tunnel fest.

Before you cry "w3lL dun get c@Ught lol" they stil tunnel other survivors to death.

You get penalized if you don't unhook. Plus its not nice to leave someone on the hook. But you have to. Because every killer walks a little bit away from the hook then quickly runs back to tunnel the unhooked guy before he can get away. Game after game after game this is the strategy of every 9 out of 10 killers.

Its absolutely awful for the person being tunneled and its boring as hell for the remaining survivors.

Dont give me "its a legit strategy" approach. Its garbage and has completely ruined one side kf the game.

They need to make some extreme changes to make this playable again. Its only worth it in SWF or playing killer now.

Oh who would have guessed that?
A survivor main is asking for killer to play stupid.
Why should a killer NOT tunnel and turn a 4v1 into a 3v1 as soon as possible?
Why do survivor always think that killer have to care about their "fun"?

  • @grisstyl said:
Perhaps Vigil could be tweaked so that you also recover Exhaustion while running? It might be a good tradeoff since the survivor will have one less perk slot.

Are we talking about "while running" or "during a chase"?

And of course ignoring any hook rushs or legit situations where camping would be logical.

The hide in lockers was a mechanic against the Doctor. It was part of the design. Now it's removed because....?

    Makes little sense.

It is not "removed", the killer got a perk to counter it, just like survivor got Calm Spirit buffed.

Calm Spirit counters the mechanic of the Doctor, so this is only fair.

But barely anyone takes calm spirit because its useless against most killers

Meanwhile most Docs are gonna want this.

So a counter on survivor side is garbage?
But a counter on killer side is overpowered?
    Ok, totally Gotcha.

So you wanna show us some laggy play and ask for a survivor buff to "fix" it?

    Sounds totallly legit.

Lol dude, what? Show me when i asked for a buff because of this. (unless dedicated servers means a buff to survivors to you)

Every time a killer lands a hit cause of lag/latency issues, survivor mains ask for "fixes".
Usually they call for smaller attackcones or smaller hitboxes, anything to make killer hits more difficult just to make up for a very few visually bad hits, that are not the fault of the hitboxes, but the latency/lag.

  • @AlwaysInAGoodShape said:
    @Wolf74
That's the thing. Nobody would be sneaking around because they don't know if they're wasting time.
Currently (disregarding the obsession) you would only know someone is being chased IF they are HIT, which means that they maybe have already looped the killer for the longest time and you SHOULD have been doing Gens OR they are SWF's.

We know for a fact that the developers do not want to buff killers, while we do. That's because we want killers to be able to win against SWF-type of gameplay while the Devs want Solo survivors to stand a decent chance at winning against killers at all ranks.

If we celebrate keeping Solo survivors down by not giving them tools SWF's have for free then it's hard to ever move to balance.

If this mechanic was implemented and people started understanding how to use it, then there would be more sneaking around, as you know nobodies cover has been broken anyway yet. No reason to be rushing when the clock isn't ticking yet.

The problem is, we get solos closer to SWFs, but killer don't get the needed buffs for that.
Look at it, the last patches we really did 2 steps forward and only 1 step back towards balance.
But what's next? Look at the PTB. No step forward for the killer, but to steps back, because of all the survivor buffs. Again!

I would not switch out NC and Overcharge for that.

Why run NC on doctor, he’s really doesn’t need it considering how much tracking he has.

People overestimate the tracking of the static field. The victims only scream once in a while and NC works in any mode.
But after some time with Distressing up and running they just heal wherever, because they can't judge if the Doc is really near or not.
And you can see them trying to snap out and interrupt it to keep them in madness 3.
So you see them while you chase other and can switch targets and keep the pressure.
It helped me a lot and I think any Doc not using it, is doing it wrong.

  • @Peanits said:
It's not really about hiding SWF groups (you already can't really tell, sometimes survivors just pop into a lobby all at once even if they're not playing together), it's because the way matchmaking works is being fundamentally changed.

If it is NOT about hiding SWFs, why don't we get an indicator who is playing SWF?

    @Peanits said:

But if you ask me, it's high time some people just learn to play against them. SWF has a stigma of some boogeyman that can't be stopped, but in reality they're very predictable and easy to defeat. The 'sweaty tryhard' teams are incredibly rare, contrary to popular belief. The vast majority of groups are just a couple of buddies hanging out and playing the game- or even total strangers who grouped up with each other on the Discord-, not a co-ordinated e-sports team.

So you want to tell us that SWF on voice com is NOT a huge advantage that is borderline cheating worth like 4-5 extra perks for free?
And you want to support keeping the advantages of it, because "most are just casuals", despite it has a big potential to get abused by "higher skilled teams"?

Still supporting balance around mediocre player and keep the player that are good anyway with a big force multiplier.
And defending it with social memes of killer needing to get good.

There are even tons of steam groups to find teammates for DbD that do not show up in the friend list and go on discord anyway.

Not to mention that sole survivor is sometimes run with this so killing off one of their friends first actually gives these twerps a little bit of protection.

That's the whole point about it. If you see the killer looking your way, just turn away from him. It's like playing Slenderman. That was the original intend of the perk, but SWF are abusing it and trolls use it to get attention.

  • Don't jump the bandwagon and try to slap the new status effect on every killer.
We are talking beartraps that snap at your legs, right?
Why doesn't they all apply hindered without any add ons needed until fully healed?
That would give the killer more dangerous if he can start a chase after the guy escaped the trap.
So it would slow the game more down, since the survivor would want to hide until healed.

  • That crap is already a thing with the obsession.
If the obsession is chased, the spiderlegs are wiggling.
You want that for ALL survivor, which would be a huuuuge buff.
But at the moment the Devs are all up for it, after some decent buffs to killer with only mediocre buffs to survivor in return we stepped a good way towards balance. But the new PTB is already swinging back hard with major killer nerfs incoming and NO survivor nerfs to "balance things out".

  • The pallet distribution change removed like 1 or 2 pallets from those maps that hat a huge amount of pallets and added 2-4 pallets all maps that few pallets.

I know this might generate comments such as “git gud” and such haha, but playing as a survivor gets you so much less than a killer. Surviving and doing good nets you like 15k max, dying and doing good about 10k. Doing bad still less. Being a bad killer gets you at least 20k though and it keeps going up if you do good. I feel playing as a survivor is such a chore if you want to get serious bloodpoints, it makes more sense to just spam play the killer. I feel they should increase/add a reward for straight up finishing the game, or split it between completing the game and the struggle phase (to discourage intentional suicides)...thoughts?

If killer is so great and gives so many easy bloodpoints… feel free to play killer.
    What is holding you back?

Let's talk about the most used survivor perks:

What's the drawback of SC, SB, DS, BT??

Okay, I'll bite. Self care heals twice as slow. Sprint Burst only lasts a few seconds and requires walking around the map to avoid triggering it. Decisive Strike requires completing a difficult skill check or does nothing at all and can only be used once per game. Borrowed Time does nothing at all for the player running the perk.

Every perk in the game has an opportunity cost as well. For killers and survivors. If I'm running Self Care, Sprint Burst, Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time guess what I'm not running? Literally every other perk! That means I'm not running Small Game to find Ruin or whatever hex perk the killer maybe running or ensuring NOED doesn't come online. That means I'm not running the various stealth perks like Calm Spirit, Iron Will, Urban Evasion, etc to avoid being found in the first place. That means I'm not running WGLF for the bonus blood points. Etc, etc, etc.

SC has NO drawback. Because it uses up 32 seconds of the survivors time. Without SC it would take 2 survivor healing for 16 seconds. That basically the same, with the bonus that you do not need to search for and find a teammate. So no drawback there, just because of the time is needs.
SB, ok, the walking everywhere to keep it is kind of a drawback, but otherwise you do not leave scratchmarks, so that is a pretty small drawback.
DS has NO drawback, just a "requirement", maybe call it a risk, but is not qualified as a "drawback".
BT also NO drawback, because you know in advance that you pick perks like BT or Well make it to support your team, because a living team is helpful for MY escape.

So no, still No Mither is the only survivor perk with a drawback. So that is not a core principle about perks. Perks are just meant to be straight advantages.

I like how you admit that Sprint Burst (btw, just type out the perk names. Don't be lazy) has a "small" drawback and then immediately discount it at the end. It is not a small drawback. Play a survivor and don't run unless the killer is chasing you. Then come back and say it is a small drawback. It is a substantial draw back.

Taking perks that don't benefit the player using them is of course a drawback. I could have taken a perk that increased my survivability, but instead chose to take a perk that might help a team mate. Maybe, just maybe, saving a team mate who in turn helps me escape is beneficial to me in an abstract sort of way. Of course maybe that same team mate trains the killer onto me getting me killed too. But I could have taken a perk that definitely helped me instead. The opportunity cost is substantial.

BTW, don't try to misunderstand the point I'm making. I'm playing the role of devil's advocate here. I'm by no stretch suggesting that any of these perks need buffed or are garbage. I'm simply arguing the point that they do have some drawbacks.

About SB (Yes, I keep using the short version), I use it all the time and guess what? I walk most of the time, because I want to stay stealth as often as possible. I only use SB when the killer found me or Alert shows me the killer far away. That's why I call it a very small drawback.

I don't blame you playing the "devils advocate" here, but in general perks should just be straight up advantages and should only have a drawback if their effect is very strong.
But in fact this logic only applies to killer perks. The strongest and most used survivor perks do not have drawbacks.

  • @Orion said:

  • This goes both way, killer get a lot of swings that don't connect, despite they seriously looked like they should.
So that is NOT a survivor issue.
Lag/latency is bad on both sides.

Watch the following video. Skip to about 42 mins in and you can see what the player's hitboxes actually look like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56aSD99gmTI

Yes, works on ALL aura reading. Freddy, BBQ, Wraith all seeing, Michael mirror, all of it.

And yeah ridiculous. If it was for killer it would've been a perk and definitely not free. 7 counters to BBQ wasn't enough and indirectly nerfing the other things was just...because. Killers needed nerfs right?
