So their power is meant to "waste survivors' time", okay. What's the point in wasting their time, when you can't down them, because you move at 110% MS?

The major problem with this is, killer are on a tight time schedule, survivor have unlimited time.

@The_Crusader exactly, I also see people hiting a survivor twice with his power after the first hit which is something you should not do. What you need to do is cancel the power and deal with the stun otherwise you have to deal with giving them a sprint burst after the hit then suffer two stuns, the weapon wipe and the frenzy stun. I still think that deep wounds affect should be looked at as its very underwhelming.

But with only one hit the bleed out timer is so huge that the survivor won't get downed anyway, because he has to much time to "mend" himself.

But that mend takes time, and if they decide to heal up after that takes even longer.
    ...

There is potential in him. When used well I've seen some games slow right down as so much time is spent healing. Sure he cant hook as fast as other killers but it balances out if he keeps survivors off gens long enough.

Mend takes 15 seconds and is not considered "healing" and does not even need a perk or an item to fix it.
And the killer as to drop the chase instead of finishing the victim.
Please explain to me the "potential" you see in him.

How should that help the killer?

Find a survivor - use Frenzy to get a hit - chase him without Frenzy as a slow M1 killer and down him… why bother with the Frenzy hit in the first place? The bleed out doesn't work if chased, right?

    So what's the point?

And for Christ sake, stop calling everything a "free hit".

The devs designed him so you don't use his ability to down survivors. Downing with Frenzy is pretty much similar to blood lusting efficiency wise.

The playstyle is once you hit 1 survivor the others nearby are highlighted. You hit everyone nearby then run down the last guy you hit without your power.

The powers strength is when you hit multiples they must heal thus slowing the game.

Power is just a slow down game thing assuming survivors are dumb enough to be close together.

    Hello

That is correct. I just wanted to confirm our intention. It is very easy to get a hit with him but harder to down survivor.

At first, the balance is in the favor of the killer then it is put back in the hand of the Survivor. We will probably talk more about the design intention on a future stream. Thank you!

I can only confirm this with my experience and what I have seen from other players!
A lot of people just don't understand how the killer needs to be played, the reason for all the "new killer weak" posts

So he has to be played with a weak tactic in mind?
Spreading out the damage has never been a viable tactic.
That's why Thanatophobia is considered a garbage perk.
With SC present everywhere, no one stays injured for a long time.

Tbh the best way to play vs the Legion is to not bother to heal. He will get a free hit on you anyways as soon as he is nearby.

    Which is ridiculous in itself.

Legion just straight up looks like a Death Garden survivor and Jeff just looks like David with a beard (david actually has an eye scar head so even that's not unique). New map is cool though needs more blood and gore, whole game needs more blood and gore and creepy things in the maps.

Yep, I thought the same when I saw the new survivor.
They could have released that as a new David skin and I might have bought it. :P

  • This killer could only be viable if they get the guts to seriously balance SELF CARE!

    1. He is slow
    2. His speed during Frenzy is only slightly faster than a regular killer is anyway
    3. His attacks need 3-4 hits to down someone
    4. Mending is not considered healing and is to short
    5. The bleed out timer stops while chased and while mending
    6. Mending doesn't even need SC or a medkit

    That's a lot of drawbacks...

    NC doesn't show mending survivors

    Omg, serious?
If it is not considered "healing", than Caulthrophobia and Sloppy won't affect it either?

Precisely. It's a "Snap Out of It" without skillchecks that keeps your progress, as healing normally should, but it's not considered a healing action so nothing works against it.

But Snap Out is visible to NC, ;P

I think "mending" should be "healing" and affected by everything that affects healing (Sloppy, NC, Caulthro, etc).

  • @powerbats said:

Including a very certain few who were quite vociferous about gen rushing etc.

Gen rush is not about survivor working together.
Gen rush is best done when all survivor spread out.
So Legion gets best countered by a tactic that is already strong.

  • @Fibijean said:

His other perks, "Discordance" and "Iron Maiden", seem designed to counter cooperation between survivors to finish gens quickly, and hiding in lockers, respectively. Both of which are things that have been complained about by killers a lot.

I have never seen any killer complaining about that.

  • Ok, I just watched Tru3 and it takes 15 seconds to mend.
    Pretty weak.

  • Can anyone tell how long "mending" takes?

  • So he is slightly faster, but needs double the amount of hits to down someone.
    Wow... that's… erm… great…? :P

  • The bad decision is that BT is now the same as "deep wounds".
It could have stayed different effects, but they choose to make it the same.
Which was a bad decision and a huge buff to BT and survivor in general.

    Are you serious?

Yup. Deep Wound (the name of the effect wherein a Survivor bleeds out after some time) will not have its timer deplete during a chase, and you can Mend (not heal; this will just cancel the bleedout timer but it will not heal by one health state) without any perks.

  • @The_Crusader said:

Legion is basically the anti-healing meta of the past few months personified. Think of him that way.

    How is that any benefit?
NC doesn't show mending… so I expect it not to be affected by Sloppy or Caultrophobia either.
And you have to give up the chase to let the bleed timer go down.

    @Fibijean said:
he seems designed to counter "toxic" playstyles on both sides, for example his power discourages tunnelling but as I understand it he also counters survivors bodyblocking.

Again,, what is "toxic" about "tunneling"? Any time someone says SC is OP, the answer is "don't lose the injured survivor or he deserved to heal up". So tunneling is just playing efficient.
So this killer is more efficient in being unefficient...yay!^^

And how does he "counter" bodyblocking in any way?

I haven't played him. I've only watched a couple videos. It does look like he'll need some tweaks though. On the bright side, there are plenty of levers to pull on to improve him. Increase his base run speed, decrease the duration of the post rage stun, increase the duration of his rage, increase the amount of damage to the deep wound when hitting a survivor, etc, etc, etc. I'm not saying to change all of those things. I'm just saying that there are plenty of options available to get him up to a viable killer.

And how often did that happen in the past? :P

  • So we have a slow killer, that has a power to make him a fast killer, but when he is fast, he needs to hit the survivor multiple times?
So... where is the power benefiting him?
Maybe I miss the point, but... Frenzy get a hit or 2, drop out of Frenzy lose the chase and wait for the drop?
So Deerstalker or NC are a must have?
    Does Sloppy Butcher affect mending?
And how long does mending take?
And is mending stopping the bleedout timer just like healing is stopping BT?

  • @Might_Oakk said:

So the killer is actually slow and getting into Frenzy gives im normal killer speed?

Yeah he is hag, huntress, spirit speed but Frenzy gives him sprint burst speed

Do we actually KNOW the numbers?
Is Frenzy 115% speed or really full SB, 150%?

  • So he is a killer that is forced to do everything the survivor want?
    He is the anti-tunneling killer?
He just stabs someone and let them go to give them free heals?
    That's how he works?

  • So the killer is actually slow and getting into Frenzy gives im normal killer speed?

  • I don't get it, he is a 110% speed killer?
And the Frenzy makes him 115%?

Maybe you should count the pallets again. 5 or 6 pallets per map…?? Serious?
Maybe you should start playing some killer.
As a survivor you only notice the 5 or 6 pallets YOU used, but the killer notices all the 5 or 6 pellets EACH survivor used.

Maybe i should start playing as killer? i got to rank 6 as killer without using ruin or noed, as a crappy pig, if u dont face swf, playing against solo players who are not organized and start panicking over 1 hooked dude is easy, it's a simple fact, and 5 or 6 pallets per survivor? lmao i bet you are one of those killer mains who still cries the game is hard, stop playing as freddy my boi.

Sorry, but again, your "facts" are "fake news".
Just go play Doc and use an Order add on.
Near the end of the match you can take a look around and count all the illusionary pallets.
For people who can actually COUNT, any killer will do... just use BS+End and break every dropped pallet asap and just COUNT!
5-6 pallets per survivor are not really an exaggerated guess.
Anybody can count it for themself and see who is true about this.

5-6 pallets per survivor? You mean to suggest that there are 20-24 pallets per map? I can guarantee if you were to actually go in and count, that would not be the case.

Feel free to do it and post your count… maybe you can prove me wrong by taping your games and show us the footage.
I would highly doubt that you can find any map with "5 or 6 pallets".

  • The hatch is FREE, because you have nothing to do beside the stuff you are supposed to do ANYWAY.
You do not have to invest anything "extra" to make it happen.
If you can't get the hatch to spawn, you sucked and deserved to die.
You just need to play halfway decent to get the hatch to spawn.
That is what I consider FREE.
So please stop arguing about it. You just play and get it. Done. No need to change your tactic or strategy. It will just happen (or not in case you suck).
As long as you claim the hatch is not "free", we have no common ground to start from.

We have a broken mechanic that the majority enjoys to play, because it gives them an unfair ingame advantage, lets keep it.

  • I am not playing the "victim card", I just point out that everything is already said and your points had been debunked, but you keep repeating it.

The hatch is "free". The one using it, has not personally to do anything to get it.
The survivor should do the gens anyway, it's not like they have to do anything extra to get the hatch.
Any survivor team worth a brain cell should be able to do at least 2 gens. If they are unable to do that, the killer deserve that 4K.
And if 3 are dead and 2 gens are done (which should be a given), the last one gets an extra chance to avoid the 4k.
Or even worse, other survivor already escaped through the open gate and the last survivor gets an additional escaperoute to avoid perks or abilities like RBTs, Noed or just a simple chase towards the open gate.
He does not have to use any special tactic or strategy to do so.
On the other hand, killer do not have anything that prevent a 4 escape.
And just using special tactics/strategies or play in a certain way to avoid the hatch to spawn is in no way the same than the hatch mechanic.
The answer that killer already have some mechanic like the hatch is just a big blatant LIE.
The whole narrative about "gens got done = the killer failed" is a "logical fallancy", because the killer can still succeed and kill the survivor after the gens are done (endgame builds).

I already said all that and it stays true, no matter how often you disagree.

  • Wow... you are hiding a lot behind your favorite phrases… "logical fallacy" ..."straw man"...
