I think Ruin is fine as it is? Since Totems usually get killed within a minute of a match?

Had my inner Trickster come out. Was running high on Salt. Calmed down now. Can see I was being a jerk to you guys on here. Trying to fix a misconception that I do this to everyone.

You sure didn't come off that way in your OP. You kind of just complained about one bad game and then listed out some commentary of how you solved your problem with Pyramid Head by playing ruthlessly. I get your sentiment of wanting to give advice on how to solve these "problems" but it definitely didn't come off that way in how you originally said it.
You also mentioned that you're doing this out of spite, which isn't a great thing to promote as your intention to "sweat." I can understand sweating because you want to get BP and if you don't have some control of the game as killer, there's no guarantee that the survivors will let you get your bbq stacks. You shouldn't ever do things just out of spite, not a healthy mentality.
To each their own though, I'm trying to not "sweat" this anniversary, but I can't really help if a killer can't catch me in chase or throws the game chasing one person. When I'm in my matches, I'll usually cleanse at least 2 totems or open chests to try and max my bp, but if the killer is camping or tunnelling people, I don't have any other option than to try and rush gens to hope that the survivor might have a chance to escape.
As you should. Punish face campers and super Tunneling as much as possible. I actually wrote this post after a match where I let someone go because their team wouldn’t get them up.
I mainly wrote this as a to see how other killers would comment. I usually disregard Survivor comments because a lot of them feel entitled to win every single match.
I personally am fine with 2Ks so I don’t fully go try hard more of the year, but around extra blood point time? I do it so I can help out my M1 killers who BHVR has left to suffer.

My first game of the event was a facecamping tunnelling bubba who hit everyone on hook.
My friend and I were like '######### was his problem?' and then moved on to the next game. We didn't teabag the next killer, we didn't bring a full meta sweat build, we just continued playing as we had before. We played against a variety of killers from sweaty meta nurses slugging at 5 gens to chill legions who just wanted to get that one insta down add on to work (aka we farmed with them).
Just play the game and stop treating your opponent as a monolith who're all out to get you. I understand sweaty meta builds are frustrating but continuing the cycle doesn't help anyone. I feel like this community would really benefit from being less assuming of people's intentions. Cakes/puddings during events aren't inherently selfish, people could just be trying to use them up before prestiging. A survivor queueing up in lobby with a flashlight isn't inherently malicious, some challenges literally require them and heck most people don't even know how to use them correctly (myself included, but I'll never bother learning because I don't want to get tunnelled out of a game just because there's some unwritten rule against them). A killer proxycamping a hook after the gens are done aren't trying to ruin the game, at that point there's nowhere else for them to logically go.
Just idk some food for thought. It's a video game. If you're not having fun maybe just log off for a bit instead of trying to take it out on the next person. This isn't directed entirely at you OP, just the community in general. I also think people would really benefit from playing both sides more so they can empathise a little more.
I did play Survivor for a better part of a year. That’s actually why I don’t face camp or use Insidious or anything like that. But you’re right, you don’t know what people are going to do. So the first bit of a match I try to get the feel for what types of people I’m dealing with, but if I notice they are actively being that way I switch to try hard mode.

- A lot of killer slowdown perks are in the change list, which makes me think they're possibly going to slow gens down across the board to make killers feel less obligated to run a slowdown perk in their loadout. Then, to keep the slowdown perks from now being too powerful with the new base speeds, they'll nerf all those slowdowns in that perk list so that, if you do run them, the net slowdown isn't overly oppressive.
- I also noticed Circle of Healing not being on the list, which to me implies they're relatively ok with its current incarnation. They might be revamping the solo-only healing perks to make them a little more attractive as alternate choices to Circle of Healing. Or they might be tweaking some healing perks so they don't stack as much with Circle of Healing to keep net total healing speeds in check. Hard to say. 🤷♂️
- Finally both bloodpoint bonus perks (i.e. BBQ and Chili and We're Gonna Live Forever) are on the list. That to me implies they might be increasing the base bloodpoint gains per match so players don't feel as obligated to run one of these two perks to help them "grind", and then revamping these two perks to replace the bloodpoint bonus with something else. (Either that or just nerfing the bonus a bit so that if you use them under the new system you end up getting the same total bloodpoints on average that you currently get when you use them.)
I hope they do slow down the Gens and give Dead Hard some sort of nerf, but I think if they’ll going to make it about stealth then they should try and make the killers have a higher level of pressure. Give a reason for a Survivor to hide instead of booking it?

I didnt say you did, but you are not helping the situation. You go full sweat-mode on some innocent players trying to enjoy the game, just like you did, and then those players will go sweat because why play nice?
If I notice that some players aren’t doing well I do back off and focus on other things. Usually breaking doors or finding the VIP pass, but I won’t go Easy on them or throw a match. I do let survivors leave however. Usually opening the gate myself to let the last one leave. I don’t enjoy 5 minute long matches. So I will try and extend them by actively leaving areas I hooked people in.
It really just depends on what I see in the pregame lobby. Characters and Customization do tell you alot about the Survivor, plus you can see what they are holding.
Thats why I titled this “Match the Salt. Grind the Meat”, because I can just not be Try Harding it against a group if they don’t start being salty. 2Ks are fine by me in a good match, but if you notice that in the beginning that the survivors are actively trying to troll or bully you? No mercy should be shown, because they wouldn’t show any to you.

You are just not helping the situation whatsoever, everyone wants to get bp and to get everything they can.
The most unfun games ive had so far have been killers tunnelling, camping especially when playing haddie to deny me getting a chance at a challenge.
I don’t camp nor do I tunnel. I didn’t mention it either.

You literally had one bad game before you decided to become a wartime general.
So? If you have one bad experience you should prepare for that same experience to happen again, especially when we all know the odds of the big three meta perks being used by a survivor. If you knew every killer was going to run NOED wouldn’t you are your buddies not want to have a Totem Aura perk? I saw the way they played and recognized that this event should be treated like the last. Going in hard and getting as many blood points as possible. Especially so I can help level killers that don’t do well.
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
Can people complain about salt without writing out a manifesto?
Who said I was complaining? I’m just trying to farm BP for my less fortunate killers at the most efficient I can. So instead of throwing a fit and coming on here to say “Why survivors being try hards!” Or “Why can’t I win!” I decided to take a different approach by telling everyone on how I’m dealing with it proactively. Which in this case is a build that counters a lot of problems I saw killers having. That’s why I had such a long message. So people can see the perk and why it’s useful.

@Sluzzy said:
This is a casual warning to not play survivor during the event. Killers are sweating profusely during event even when 5 event offerings are using. The first two matches I played were against Onis and they would hook, pretend to leave, and then come right back and tunneled people off the hook. Also slugged everyone.
Killers are not punished for this. It is very easy to do this and they still get 30K+ while survivors all get less than 10K.
Dear BHVR, balance your game and make it a level playing field so both survivors and killers have equal chances of winning and getting equal amount of bloodpoints. One person shouldn't have the ability to deny bloodpoints to 4 others.
You say that but all the survivors I have had are sweaty try herds running full meta builds and New Parts + 30 Second long flashlights of death. also putting up offerings to go to places like Crows and The Corn Fields.

gideon and eyrie i despise because they reward this brainless drop pallet hold w playstyle, and the killer cant mindgame at all., in addition bad pathing vs good pathing is nearly indestinguishable, which leads to boring play for seasoned survs and killers alike.
I actually really like some loops in garden of joy, but it bothers me that the jungle gyms are sso incredibly cracked, also the bush sucks for chainsaw killers and blight bumps into thin air.
The best new map currently is haddonfield. the pathing is very fluid and intuitive, id say half of the pallets are reasonably outplayable, most can be mindgamed. The only issue that ive come to notice is that Deathslinger cant shoot over some cars. as in, its like every car in the middle is actually a giant pillar.
I did notice when I was mindgaming someone around the white car that I suddenly lost all bloodlust build up because I “couldn’t see them”. Even though I could clearly see them.

I actually never looked at Starstruck. The one character it use Agitation on is Legion due to their anti-wiggle perk.

As a Killer I want to point out that three of the houses actually have such big loops that killers loose their bloodlust build up. Making chases extremely Tedious.
Also there is a hole in the floor of one of those houses that no one can fall through. Confused me and a Meg a few days ago.

@Vampwire said:
His anti-loop really makes no sense. You charge the shock, hit them, they're paralysed for 2.5 seconds but then you also slow down enough that you can't really make it to them in time. I've tried multiple strategies to make the shocks work. I've tried to not spam shock and time it right. Doesn't really work. Spam shocks just slow you down and do nothing. These were all on pretty standard loops I should add.
Every-time I would do this, I'd be just far away enough to miss. And it seemed like the only way to really utilize his power was when survivors were greedy and I was already on their ass. It's just so counter intuitive.
The delay as well is weird. I understand why it exists. It makes it so you cant just instant shock when they reach the pallet. But I also feel that's the way it should be. You already have to charge it. I wouldn't entirely remove it but it should be a bit faster.
Static blast also sucks. You have to do it like 3 times to put someone in tier 3. But the cool-down is a minute. Sure, it's good for finding survivors and potentially delaying the game. But Legion does the same in just a couple of seconds, with the potential to get a down from it. As well with not having to wait so long.
I love the idea of his character and his design. I just can't take him seriously. If anything he's a nuisance. And playing him feels like a waste of time. I wish he was the intimidating mad man he is in the lore.
I love him. It’s all about mind games and scare tactics, but he requires his add-one to do that.
This is what I run with him most of the time. It’s not a true anti-loop build but it’s there to force the survivor to try and make out which TR is yours, and which RS is yours. Causing them to run right into you. Lightborn is there so if you break a pallet and they flashlight you they can feel the fear in veins once they realize that you can still see them and they are outlined.
He just takes time to get used too. His older kit was easier but had issues. This new kit helps him be a amazing Hunter Killer Character.
-
I’m a killer main and I’ll admit that I do tunnel every so often but I have a reason for it.
Its your characters looks. If you’re fully decked out in either bright clothes or no clothes (David King) I know you’re there to be toxic. Tea bagging and posting up near double L loops with pallets surrounding them. If I can get rid of you as soon as humanly possible I’ll have a better game.
Camping however is a different issue. If I see someone running in the hooks general location then I’ll return to the hook on a intercept. Doesn’t mean I camped it, means I’m protecting a kill.
Face camping sucks and I’ve only one if you a survivor once. Mainly due to him being a HUGE racist. He messaged me a lot of hate and talked “smack” to his fellow survivors. So one of them asked me to Tunnel him.
-
The moment I see three flashlights I leave, especially if they are clearly running some crazy meta stuff. Not all my killers have Lightborn. Hell, I put ten levels into my Plague today and I didn’t get any good perks. The only time I don’t care is if I have Doc or Pyramid Head. Since I have meta counters on both of them.
-
It’s way to bright. The killer sticks out like a sore thumb as well.
-
If I was dealing with some annoying survivors I slug them. If you’re just gonna hide next to a god loop the moment I see you then when I finally catch you I’ll leave you to crawl while I down your pallet buddies.

I Really Love playing Pentimento and plaything but sadly this Combo is very situational because Good Survivor dont Breaks the Totems rather they Boon them
So whit the latest update we got a Anti Boon Perk called Shattered Hope that allows die Killer to break boon Totems
The Perk also Work whit Pentimento so is it better than Plaything + Pentimento ? :)
Personally I think killers should be able to make Hex’s like boons. Since boons can be constantly replaced.
But I think that could work as a Anti-Boon build.

Same, sadly with all the toxicity from survivors about every little thing it gets to me sometimes. Especially ones who scream “YOU CAMPED ME” when I was searching around the hook because of their friends in a bright pink hoodie was standing next to it.
-
I think the big problem is under the old system there was still a reason to see M1 killers, because you can still have fun with them.
But now even the lowest MMR Survivor is running either DH, BT, or DS. Making it harder for M1s to be enjoyable.
But who know who doesn’t care about your MMR ranking? Pyramid Head and the other high tiered killers. So your virility is killed because of the lack of utility from other killers.
the Rank System sucked a lot for Killers, but imagine it if every match was a super beefed S+ Tiered killer. Survivors would leave in droves, especially with the current meta killers.

I find that I'm very glad when someone uses their flashlight at a pallet, because that's several seconds that they should be using to move away from me. As an M1 killer main, I find those few extra seconds invaluable in hooking them a few seconds later, especially since they don't realize that I can still close the distance even when I can't see them, because I can usually still hear them (on rare occasions, I even manage to get a hit while blinded).
Lightborn isn't worth running against one flashlight. Against two, I might run it, especially if they seem to be in a flashlight-dependent SWF or their usernames and cosmetics indicate that they might be annoying (four Neas with flashy cosmetics and names like Boon: Flashbangsave or any amount of vanilla Dwights are immediately suspect). Against three, good chance that I'll run it, although I had a game yesterday where I didn't bother and none of them even tried to use their flashlights - 4K. Against four, they probably don't realize how bad of a strategy that is, and Lightborn is going to be fun.
My one issue is I only have it on two characters because the RNG gods have forsaken me. Doc and Trapper. Plus we can’t switch killers once the lobby is active. Unlike the Survivors.

At the very least I think there's a difference between using NOED as a crutch (which is where I think a lot on the complaints about the perk come from), using NOED because it's the strongest perk you have (as the case here and perfectly understandable), and using it as part of a deliberate build or playstyle (it's a staple in late-game and endgame builds for a reason, or you include it because endgame is generally a weak spot of yours)
Like with my Spirit build. It’s meant to torture the remaining survivors
-
@Biscuits said:
I don't get how not using NoED is this humble brag, you are literally choosing not to use free real estate. NoED punishes survivors for ignoring bones or finishing gens at the wrong time. I know that NoED is on a list to be changed/nerfed but there are much better perks than exist, that I would rather not play against as a survivor main. Pain Resonance and Pop is some of the most degenerate gameplay you can experience, and there is very little you can do about it aside from just not going down at all.
There are huge mistakes you can make when it comes to facing against a killer with NoED and I feel like 90% of the community walks right into those traps. It takes several chain links of mistakes for a killer to get NoED value, if you break just one of them, its useless.
I’m not being humble, I run it on Spirit like a monster. I’m more just pointing out that early on NOED is a likely perk you’ll find and can actually use. This post is more just making fun of people who screech about it when some level 5 guy is running it as one of their two perks.
Kinda like Life taking inspiration from Art so to speak.
-
As a Killer i only do it if the Survivors are toxic beyond measure and I’m done with the game for the day. Only really happens once every few weeks.
I can only take so many pallet camping, Flashlight Ninjaing, Tea bagging Survivors before I crack and decide to go play something with friends or read a book.

To be honest even when I was new to the game a few months ago and used Wraith I didn't ever use NoED because of it's associations with both being not fun and a crutch. I used Shadowborn/Bloodhound/Sloppy Butcher and Predator. Eventually realized Predator was actively harmful because I was missing scratch marks in some cases and swapped in Jolt. I did alright. It's not a great build but it's not bad for starting out and only uses Wraith or generic perks.
I don’t use NOED myself but I just found it funny that my level 21 Wraith was basically in the situation that they guy described and thought a

Well regardless of how it happens BT shouldn't change it's the only real counter to a camping killer besides rushing gens, at some point instead of complaining people should look at what they're doing wrong and try to become a better player from it instead of immediately rushing to the forums to make a "nerf this because I got outplayed" post
I agree but if something is constantly used like BT and DH they need to try and augment them so not everyone is running it. Same thing with BBQ and OG Ruin.
Doesn’t have to be a nerf, just adjustments.
also camping killers are a problem, just like pallet camping survivors. It’s just something those people do because they can.

I really wish they'd do that (at the very least, once the gates are open, let the killer end the game), but their stance has consistently been that as long as something will end naturally, it's not a problem. This is also why they don't really seem to care about killers deliberately bleeding out survivors, or nonsense like No Mither/Soul Guard/Boil Over with RPD offerings. Maybe survivors hardcore stealthing and stalemating the game, too, as I've gotten mixed messages on whether that breaks the rules or not.
Slug Army is a odd thing but sometimes it’s the only way to deal with meta survivors
