Leatherface can negate borrowed because he doesn't slow down after hitting you and can keep going, better question is why are you standing next to the hook for this to affect you? They can't make it across the map to take a hit with borrowed it's gone by then , camping may be a valid strategy but it also has valid counterplay with borrowed and that shouldn't change because you want your hand held

Some killers can hurry back to hooks. Or a Survivor can lead you back on accident. I think our friends big issue is that Deep Wounds is kind of a lack luster thing now a days.

Even Legion whose whole thing is that status effect doesn’t fully benefit from it. Since there are like five survivor perks that can easily negate it and it heals them to full. If BT did something like apply broken to the hit party while also giving them the speed boost then it would be fine.

A big thing to remember is that killers have a anti pallet stun perk courtesy of Spirit. Sadly it runs on a damn token system. they could just give BT the same type of system. “After unhooking two survivors the next survivor you unhook is immune for 15 seconds”.

  • I’m a killer main and I do agree slightly with this. BT should technically only effect the saved, but they will gladly take a hit so the savior can book it. Making it feel like both are getting it. My big issue is that they can get it off via ability hits. Like Huntress’s hatchets or Billy’s Chainsaw. I feel like it should only apply to basic attacks.

I'd perhaps make beast of prey make you gain bloodlust faster in addition to the undetectable (this could either be broken or useless tho not sure)

territorial should have another purpose entirely, no one cares if someone went into the basement or not but am not sure what it'd change to

I always thought Territorial should just effect hooks that survivors are on.

  • I’ve never seen a Skybilly. Is he as magical as he sounds?

  • Oooo. I like this..

Killers: Rusty Hook, Starts you in the Basement. (A offering since they don’t get items)

Survivors: Medical Mask, will heal you for one Status effect for 30 seconds.

  • I know you said you don’t like running Lightborn but that is the biggest counter to it. I personally run it on Doctor and Pyramid Head. Most survivors I’ve found don’t understand LB is a thing and will waste the whole animation trying to blind me just to be hit. Now I can agree on the triple spam. I think you should gain like 10 seconds of immunity after a blind. As for the animation itself it is a awkward thing. Since “Technically” your killer is looking down at the pallet so they shouldn’t be hit by the light. Alas that Just how it is. My big issue is minds inside gens. Since that blinds you for a long time and cuts off your hearing too. Basically a free firecracker.

  • Oooo… I like this.

Killer Perk Buff: Iron Grasp, Increase the wiggle amount by 20%

Justification: No one uses this and it could help slow killers get hooks faster.

2nd Killer Perk Buff: Iron Maiden, Make it a flat 50% and make it so you’re immune to locker stuns.

Justification: Another forgotten perk that gets overshadowed

Killer Perk Nerf: BBQ and Chili, I would increase the range from 40 to 50.

Justification: Giving Survivors a little more breathing room and not giving them away if the SQ got downed

Killer Perk Change: Territorial, have it effect all hooks but only if you’re 45 meters away

Survivor Perk Buff: (Personally I got nothing but my brother gave me a idea) Deliverance gives you the BT effect for 10 seconds.

Justification: Allowing you to flee if the killer is face camping you, but make it so if the gate it open the perk is deactivated.

Survivor Perk Nerf: Dead Hard, can’t be used while injured.

Justification: It’s not used at attended anyway so they should nerf how it’s used now.

Survivor Perk Change: Divisive Strike, can’t be used when gens are done.

Justification: It’s a free stun for loosing the chase and isn’t fair when you basically get a free win.

This may be it. It rolls off the tongue well. Killer titles have always been focused on a poetic ring rather than accuracy.

You mean hook states? That is 120 seconds, 60 seconds in phase 1, 60 seconds in phase 2. The only way to impact this is either by A. Failing skill checks in phase 2 or B. someone brings camaraderie which would extend the current hook phase by 34 seconds.

So in total either 2 or 2 1/2 minutes. I wouldn’t go and say Gens should be that long but maybe a flat 100 ticks?

or if they really want to pressure Survivors they could make is that the first two gems are 80. But each Gen after that gets plus 10 after it. With harder skill checks to do?

  • @Carth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2996114#Comment_2996114

It takes 80 seconds to complete a gen solo.

Specifically all of DBDS systems work on a system where you need to accumulate a total # of charges before the action is completed. For Gen repair that is 80 charges and a survivor base repairs at 1.0 Charge/Second.

I feel like that should be higher. How many seconds does it take for our friendly entity to take a Survivor? From start to finish. Including the mash button time.

  • @jamally093 said:

Basically last gen is done and someone is down all of sudden Nightfall actives simple try to rescue the teammate not so had some people who just straight up left I asked them why did they leave their response "I don't want to deal with nightfall". Firstly they were on rotten fields the most open map in the entire game with hardly any buildings anywhere so navigate through the map isn't hard plus simple don't want to wait out Nightfall well deal with it by hiding somewhere like a locker I get the dredge can teleport to them but the chance of it choosing the one your in is low besides Nightfall doesn't last for three minutes it last maybe a minute or so I get Dredge is new to the game but it's not that hard to remember what to expect on the map you've been playing on for a while.

They just don’t like a mechanic that doesn’t have a huge easy to find counter. Let them suffer and have fun with people who stay. I know I do.

  • Does anyone actually know how long it takes one Survivor to do a Gen? A honest question because I have no clue. I always thought it was 60-90 seconds

Option to change aura colours to what suits you

For the year 5 event they had the purple auras for crown podiums

I like that. I see green better than white or orange.

  • I saw a few people make the argument that “there is no prerequisite to it!”… there is. Turning on the generators. Just because it doesn’t have flashy colors and signs pointing to it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a build up.

NOED is a last chance killer perk. Now I do believe they should change it so if there is only two or less players left then it can’t activate. But besides that survivors have a perk with the same requirements. Adrenaline. Instantly heals you one whole level.

  • I’m a console player and it’s just a weird experience. Like my most hated people are Twitch Streamers, because they are very toxic. I mainly find them as PC players, but Xbox players are almost the same.

    skill wise? The same.

toxic wise? I’m sure it’s PC because there are more of them, but not all of them. It’s just all dependent. I actually judge more on the character being used.

  • @CrowVortex said:

It states that it applies Mangled and Blindness for 60 seconds while hitting a full health survivor in Nightfall, yet i've noticed that when it comes to mangled for other killer addons, they are of less quality and last until healed. So the question is why they opted to do that? Sure, blindness too. But i don't see why they can't just have the blindness last the 60 seconds and keep mangled how it usually is. It is a very rare quality addon anyway, with additional requirement to hit them in Nightmare while they are full health.

I think it’s due to the nature of what ability is being used. Nightfall is already a amazing feature that disrupts the game flow for survivors. If you put mangled on for the normal duration maybe it would be op? I’m sure they actually tested that. Hopefully

  • I wouldn’t mind more breakable doors. But only on Double L loops with a pallet at the start of one. Like on Trappers and Nurses home maps. So many loops that need a break somewhere in them. Since the entity seems to love L shaped structures and obstacles.

  • I think all these are good ideas, but fully agree with option 3.

  • It also can just be the killer had a few bad matches. I know after a few flashlight fights and endless blindings I pick up my Doc and run Lightborn and NOED.

Also Wrath is like a greyhound on Blights Stims, more speed is always a good option and we killers don’t get a magical E perk for it.

Every killer functionally has the exact same basic attack range and the attack is cone shaped so it is can be easier to miss if you're trying to do it out of a turn because I don't believe the animations sync up exactly with what the game is checking for in the background to see if you hit.

Just feels weird because Doc swings his stick to the side so if I turn as I swing it feels like a arc. With her however it doesn’t have that same feeling. My main guess is because she straight up attacks ahead of her so it just looks weird compared to what I’m used too. I was playing her again today and was able to snap down someone. Maybe it just takes time to learn it?

  • I hate Dead Hard as much as any killer main, but full on removing it is a little much.

Remember OG Ruin? How they nerfed and changed it? It completely through the killers out of whack for like… what a week? Same with Survivors Botany perk. It used to almost insta heal if you had a basic med-kit. It was a meta for the first two years. Took 27 seconds for them to find a new thing. Mainly DS, DH, and BT. All these things need to be nerfed so that Killers can feel rewarded for playing the killer. Not bullied because they won a chase. Same with why I feel like a lot of killer Perks get nerfed. Devs are scared that the biggest base (Survivors) will leave if they don’t have fun, but then they forget killers are people too.

As for the Survivors who will try to be salty with me. Just remember, it’s a 1v4. The advantage is on your side. Yes you deserve good perks, but not ones that overshadow all killer perks.

  • I feel like the reason it feels that way is because some killers can’t fully apply enough pressure to convince a survivor to stop what they are doing.

My personal opinion is that Pinhead is not strong whatsoever, but I also play on console so his power is a little jankie for me. But I find Nemesis and Pyramid Head to be amazing at there jobs. The first breaks pallet loops and applies a passive pressure and has add-ons that give him very high tracking and control. PH can break almost any loop, yeah his movements are weird but he is dragging a knife the size of a middle aged garbage man. He also punishes people for being hero’s.

    Now… onto the others.

Freddy is good but does require some perks to help him do his job.

Well Ghost just needs more love from the devs and better Condemned percentages.

Bubba IS amazing but does suffer from a few flaws. Any loud killer does.

The Pig almost suffers from the same problem the Well Ghost has. Her main power is very much not a huge deterrent. It also requires a generator to be turned on for it to activate. Since party’s exist and Discord exists, this makes it go from a “I better get this off now!” To a “Guys hold up I have a trap on me.”

Demi is great but sadly unavailable to most new players.

Ghostface and Myers have the same problem. Stacked loops being too close together. Especially if a pallet is six meters away. So it’s more a issue with how maps are than their powers. I remember Mikey being op because the pallets and loops were not that close together, but after the Freddy update they put in enough pallets to fill a stockroom.

It’s also all about play style and personal preference. Like how I said Pinhead was bad, or how I hate blight and nurse because I’m on console. Maybe you’re just better with the company made killers. I don’t know for sure but that’s what my friend told me because I couldn’t control Pinheads weird power.

  • Thank you guys for your help. I was finally able to full use her against a group and basically used a little bit of a Freddy and Wrath combo play.

Her lunge felt off because I’m used to these huge movements from the killers but she is very much not into that. But thanks to a few of you I’ve found my groove with her.

My last question. Does she suffer from lightburn?

  • @dugman said:

Like others said above, her lunge is mechanically identical to everybody else’s with the same range. It probably just looks different in part because of her small size. But just pretend you’re the Doctor when you lunge in terms of range and speed and it works exactly the same.

    As far as strategy goes:

    • Sadako has solid map mobility because of her teleport, which makes hit and run and slugging a useful tactic for her. You can down someone and immediately get into a new chase even if the other survivors are across the map. So a good Sadako strategy is slug for pressure and focus mainly on hooking mostly just one survivor. You save yourself around 10 seconds or so slugging and going straight to another survivor versus carrying someone to a hook, so by intentionally not trying to hook literally everybody you can keep a lot of pressure going where survivors are either slugged or in chase or healing each other versus doing gens. Then once you finally get that one survivor you’ve been hooking killed the game is 3v1 and much more heavily in your favor.
    • Assuming you do slug, perks that help with chases and slugging are useful, as is Jolt which works well when you are doing a lot of slugging versus hooking (since you get a lot of downs compared to a non-slug strategy). Sadako’s main weakness is once she’s in a chase she’s mostly a basic attack killer, so perks that can help you in a chase or that help you efficiently remove pallets, etc, can help you get downs and eliminate resources while you stall through slugging. So things like Save the Best for Last, Bamboozle, the new Dissonance perk on Dredge, Jolt as mentioned above, Sloppy Butcher, or even also Knock Out or Deerstalker can be useful. Also Dead Man’s Switch is good since it provides some slowdown without needed to do hooks or kick gens and happens naturally just by chasing people.
    • If you do try the slug approach, one of her best add-ons is her Green add-on which makes it so a survivor who heals or revives another survivor that is Condemned gains a stack themselves. When you are intentionally slugging survivors this add-on significantly increases the rate survivors build up stacks because every single slug results in at least one or two additional stacks being applied (one for reviving the person and a second if they help heal the person to full.) That plus you teleporting more frequently since you’re spending less time hooking noticeably amplifies stack build up. It’s actually not uncommon because of that additional stack build up and all the pressure survivors are under to juggle healing each other and trying to do gens that someone lets the stacks get away from them and you get a Condemned kill out of it.
    • Also the red add-on that instantly turns TVs on after a post-Manifest down is really solid, especially combined with that Green one above and slugging. It just makes it even easier to teleport basically at will and helps build up stacks even faster as a side bonus.
    • In terms of Stealth, she’s solid but keep in mind that she has a non-directional Lullaby sound which survivors can hear. So they’ll know you’re in the area but not necessarily which direction. Likewise Spine Chill obviously is a popular perk and has kind of the same function where they’ll know you’re in the area but not necessarily where. Fortunately, though, Sadako has two nice features. First, she’s very short, which means you can more easily use terrain to block line of sight as you approach someone. Try to take advantage of that when approaching gens, coming up from being rocks and objects and things to disguise your approach. And second, she’s invisible on and off while Demanifested. Obviously it’s not perfect, survivors can see you on and off as well, but it does make it so if you are only briefly in their line of sight there’s a decent chance you will happen to be invisible at that moment, granting you a bit of an extra buffer to succeed at sneaking up on people.
    • Finally, as a minor tip, you can use her Invisibility sometimes midchase to enhance your mindgame. Basically if you’re at a loop that you’re sure the survivor is going to stay at, you can Demanifest and then, when they can’t see you behind the wall or object you’re looping, Manifest again and switch directions. Because you are invisible and Undetectable for a second or two after Manifesting they won’t know you switched directions and might run straight into you. It’s a situational tactic and not foolproof but it works well as a mindgame tool.

    Hope this help!

    It helped alot!

Hmmm I have a few issues with these

    1. Having an AOE would just make it unfun, she would become the best tunneling killer since you could just chase a Survivor until theyre fully condemned

    2. I have no idea what you mean by this

    3. TVs usually spawn in loops where a Survivor will absolutely runs towards. Map mobility isnt the only use for them either, zoning, forcing condemned and gaining information are also uses.

There are exceptions to this of course, and on indoor maps like Gideon the TV spawns could be improved

    4. Her Lullaby is already pretty small at 24m, and doesnt really change much.

    5. Theres a TV for every Generator, in fact a TV can only spawn at max 16m away from a Generator. Meaning there already is 7 TV's.

The changes I would do, is focused more around Condemned. Not making it overwhelming, but still more of a threat.

    - Survivors within range of a TV now passively gain condemned at half the rate they would normally gain it while holding a tape (50 seconds for 1 stack)

    - Survivors who are Fully Condemned can no longer retrieve/insert a tape to remove Condemned stacks.

    - Inserting a tape will no longer turn off a TV, but instead turn it on/keep it on.

As I Said for the AOE I would only want it to get the first two levels. Just like how Doctors only brought you to Madness 1.

As for the second point I was talking about how her basic attack seems like it’s hit box is very bi-polar. I think the main problem is she just sends out the wave so you can’t accurately pin point hits like with other killers. The way I tried to imagine it is like the clawed killers attacks. Straightforward with no arc, but it also doesn’t help her symbol does block 1/4 the screen. Just seemed odd to me that the symbol is so big yet it doesn’t hit them when I snap turn on them.

I have no problem lunging with her but I agree the lunge animation could be better.

I couldn’t even tell what she was doing. I’ll probably ask a friend for help with her kit.

  • @TatsuiChiyo said:

Sadako/Onryo is a hit and run Killer, and the best way to use her ability is midchase and port to TVs.

The main issue and struggle with this though comes down to two factors. 1) This is a very heavy and difficult mindgame to play as it requires you to essentially be able to guess that the Survivors will either keep running to the TV or stop and try to hide while you have the Oblivious effect. If a Survivor catches on to what you are doing, they just have to Nurse you and do a 180 and they gained a lot of distance for free.

The second part comes with Survivors able to turn off your power. While yes it is "in line" with Sadako, ultimately anytime a Survivor can deny the Killers power without a suitable penalty, than the Killer suffers.

Take Plague for example. If I get infected, I get one of two choices. Either I don't cleanse and therefore become broken and a one shot, or I do and Plague becomes a ranged Killer. While yes I can deny Plague a part of her power, I am now put into a situation where if I get got in a bad spot, I am easier to take out of the game.

Now look at Sadakos condemnation. When I turn off a TV, I get the tape and a clock that builds up to 7. If it gets to 7, I can be insta Morid. So the IDEA is that while I am denying Sadako her power in return for getting a target on my back, the actual reality is pretty bad. First, Survivors don't gain Condemnation incredibly quickly, unless uou are running certain add ons or they keep turning off TVs. Their bar also pauses when you begin chasing them, so theres even more time it can take to get a reward as Sadako.

Another issue is that when you pull the tape, the TV to remove your condemnation is revealed to you, and even has an aura for a little bit if I remember correctly. So the risks of carrying a tape is further lessened since I know where to go to remove my condemnation.

Next let's go over her Manifestation. It's no doubt Sadako is built like the Wraith your mom says you have at home. While shes billed to be a stealth killer, shes a stealth killer with a lullaby, so you cant really sneak up on Survivors unless they aren't paying attention. And like Wraith, she can freely swap between her two modes, one where she is visible and can atta k, and one where she fazes in and out like Spirit and is unable to attack.

Like Wraith, when she goes from vis to invis, she doesn't really lose speed. Unlike Wraith though, she doesnt gain a speed increase while invis (She is able to phase through Survivors though so they can't block you in a pallet from what I understand, though Ive never really been able to confirm this so make of it what you will). Another thing she shares with Wraith is when she transfers back to a visible state she slows down, but unlike Wraith she doesn't gain an increased lunge distance.

So she shares similar mechanics to Wraith, but none of the strengths that help out Bing Bong Boi. While invis she also has passive phasing like Spirit which is a plus, but no where near as good and just like Spirit you can't see it so it's hard to capitalize on it. And as many others have pointed out, she shares teleport with Dredge, only Dredge has more options than Sadako and Survivors can't repeatedly turn off it's power like they can Sadakos.

Sorry thos became an essay, just started going a couldn't stop. I do still love Sadako, still one of my favorite Killers, reason why Im so sad Dredge is outshining her so well. I really hope they give major buffs to her kit. My dream one is removing Survivors knowing which TV to return their tape to. It would certainly add pressure AND give a secondary objective, rather than a "oh, let me pause ten seconds and quickly return this before I get hot with late fees"

That is helpful thank you. May I ask about her lunge? It seemed nonexistent when I tried to play her?

  • @DoritoHead said:

Wow there are a lot of Sadako posts today

Anyways, I'd just try to get a feel for teleporting and using manifesting and de-manifesting creatively. I recommend perks like Thrilling Tremors, BBQ, Haunted Grounds, or Make Your Choice.

People will tell you that she's garbage or to "just play Dredge" but don't be afraid to play low-tier killers if you find them fun.

How does she lunge? That’s a problem I was having with her.

  • Thank you guys for giving me your thoughts.

  • @aperoni said:

By "need help" do you mean a buff? I don't think every killer deserves a buff beside Nurse and Blight. Spirit is still extremely powerful, she is able to traverse from one side of the map to the other in less than 10 seconds. Huntress has busted add-ons (looking at you Iri Head) that let her get downs and pressure from a mile away. I could go on. Yeah, I do agree that a lot of Killers need quality of life adjustments, but not full on buffs.

One Killer that I think completely need a buff/rework is Legion. Their power is just game slowdown and useful when paired with Thanatophobia, that's about it. Strong survivors won't even heal, and a lot of them even benefit from being injured (looking at you Dead Hard).

Another killer, The Pig. She's 100% RNG. I wouldn't touch her beartraps, but I do think that she should get her crouch speed increased, that means going into crouch and out of it, aswell as movement speed. No one even uses the crouch mechanic because of how it feels like a slow death as you tiptoe around the map while gens are popping left and right.

I defend a lot of survivor mechanics, and I get attacked for it, but I'll do the same for killer. I could go on with a BUNCH of killers that need a buff, but I'm sure you're already bored reading this lol

I’m actually enjoying what people are saying, because everyone is making fair points and being civil I’m actually loving this thread.

Also “Needs help” can be buffs or maybe you can give advice on how YOU think the Killer should act. It’s just a discussion with no true wrong answers. :)

Well at the top of the meta it's Nurse, blight then because of spirit's nerf and then yeah it's probably spirit still.

Spirit's nerf hit her really hard.i felt it at what I assume is high MMR, and as survivor I'm hitting her a lot. If she gets that dust nerf, she is absolutely dead.

However my personal favourite killers were Deathslinger, ikr? It's sad. Rip slinger man. Oni, and Spirit.

Those must be the PC killers. On console Blight is considered one of the worst. Mainly due to the turn radius.

They all need help lol bar the top 3. Honestly I've been having such a breeze on survivor lately. Stomping killers non stop. The boon totem's and the dead hard buff are insanely good.

I swapped from killer main to survivor main. It's more boring, and I burn out fairly quickly, but I've been having way more fun as well if that makes sense? It's just SO relaxing. Friends come on, and it's even more chill. I just have regular conversations while running the killer around and they're stressed off the Earth with the gens flying.

I was against huntress yesterday on haddonfield in a SWF, she kept blowing out my boon and I just kept relighting it in the same place constantly. Everyone was just laughing in the party.

I did find the killer the more enjoyable role, but I can't deny just maining survivor is far more relaxing, calm, sociable, and easy.

So many killers are here on the forums screaming constantly. Either take a break which I did for a year, or become a survivor main. Don't let the poor balancing at the high levels affect your mental health which I know this game does for many people.

Who are the top 3 killers for you? I’m a pure killer main and (sadly) have made posts saying I’m quitting just to come back a day or so later. My top 3 are Huntress, Nemesis, and Trapper. I used to main Doctor before his rework.

I remember playing against him, in the chase i was in front of him and for some reason i took no damage when he was so close.

I think he needs some love.

    -

Ghost Face have to get better add ons.

    -

There are 2 killers that i think they should get some changes, Bubba and PinHead.

I think Bubba need to have a cooldown and short swing when one survivors is down, to avoid hitting multiple survivors.

Good PinHead players are pretty underwhelming. i think his box is more like a trap then anything if the survivor can't solve the box in time.

Billy does need some help, I don’t use him because he is basically a weaker version of Oni now.

Just go to your profile and click on the games played tab. Click the game and you'll see it

    Thank you.

  • Is it in game or on the Xbox page?

I wish people would post their playtime and kills before they post about this killer being garbage and that killer being underwhelming etc… i personally don’t have a lot of issues 3-4king against good teams as legion at Rank 1 killer. I run Discodance, Blood echo, mindbreaker and thana with sketch book and smiley pin.

Legion requires ALOT of basic/advanced mind games after frenzy as all he can do is injure survivors quickly and that’s it. Good survivors will wait at certain points at jungle gyms and if you keep following that survivor over and over and around and around and around and vault over and over and over with out moonwalking, hiding your red stain or simply continue without dropping chase, you will loose a lot of games.

He’s not like nemesis or p head where they can just shoot you over windows and pallets etc…

That’s the problem with a lot of these bottom 15-20 killers in this game is after you get the first hit you have nothing else to help you in chase but good map knowledge and mind games/predictions on what really good survivors will do next..

I play on Xbox. I don’t have a tracker for hours played that is very detailed. Also I’m not a rank 1 killer because I don’t play as often as I use to.

I agree. Quite a lot of people only play one role, which is fair enough but it often means that they don't know what balancing is like for the other side and get it wrong when they try and comment on it and request changes regarding it.

It does feel like a double edged sword though. Lets take DH for instance, Survivors will bend into origami swans to try and tell killers that it’s not over powered but killers will do the same thing to tell Survivors that it is.

I feel like Behavior really wants the two sides to fight more. I remember back when the meta was self healing after pallet drops. Seeing a survivor (Usually Claudette) do that actually conditioned me to Tunnel Claudettes as fast as possible. Maybe the Devs want that feeling back? Actually hate for the other player?

  • I think the current DH would be fine if it 1: Was only usable in the injured state. Or 2: had a huge cooldown.

  • Pallets should be like 25 meters apart and randomly generated, because they keep saying that the pallets are random but Survivors seem to know where they are 100% of the time. Since they are so close together

  • I think it should only be able to be used in the injured state. So healthy Survivors don’t use it to just pallet dash.
