Then why does Merriam Webster list an easy as am antonym for frustrate?
If you want to cite a dictonary you might as well look for the multiple definitions of "easy"
-
Lore-wise, how would you justify a killer's power rework (such as Freddy or the Doctor)? Is the Entity involved or are the killers that change by their own will?
-
Killers will just get better and learn to not rely on Ruin. The amount of people complaining here on the forums is a very small minority, the vast majority of the playerbase simply adapts to changes.
-
Devs said in the past they are against fear mechanics, they'd rather have the player scared than the character. It was a lot of time ago, though, not sure if they still stand by this stance.
-
Welcome to the internet, where people say mean stuff knowing there is no rl consequence. It has nothing to do with DbD.

If Killers had gestures, well... I would just use them on the hooked survivors. Camping would become a show.
Win, win imo.
Pretty sure this is the reason killers don't have gestures...
-
It's one of my favourite perks, and it's especially good on one-shotting killers like Myers and the Oni. Definetly an underrated perk.
-
I like being fast and taking survivors by surprise, and he's the best at that.

I wish they would stop reworking any and all killers, and focus entirely on maps first. Map balance would actually help this game more than any one killer being buffed or nerfed
The people working on maps are not the same working on killers. Just saying...
-
I like it, but it needs more bass. It's too high-pitched compared to the rest of the music.
-
I always ran it, but recently I switched to Kindred since it gives a lot more information in the most important moments of the match.
-
What really annoys me is when people bum rush the unhook with BT. Jeez, give me at least the time to go away...
-
Aside from what has already been said, that would hurt stealth too much, and stealth is really the last thing you want to nerf. Besides, I think it would feel really bad as a killer if you are fast as ######### and as soon as a chase starts you become a slug.
-
They already stopped releasing them with new killers a long time ago. I agree that it was nice to try killers for free, but now they are on average less expensive (most are basically free), and after a while splinters become a nuisance, cluttering the bloodweb, especially since they're bugged. I bought Freddy with the winter sale on auric cells prices and still get a fuckton of them. Tbh I would gladly get a refund for all the splinters I was forced to buy, they were expensive af.
-
Removing the great skillchecks zone woud be a bad idea imo. At red ranks the only reason people fail skillchecks is trying to hit the great zone, and trying to hit it is the only thing (at least for me) that makes repairing gens a bit more entertaining.

Low rank survivors also suffer from being matched with red rank players, but they still haven't fixed that?
Low rank killers struggle with BT, DS, Adrenaline and Dead Hard just to name a few and they are sick of seeing it over half their games.
Now this is just whataboutery...
One thing doesn't exlude the other, and in any case you omit that 2 of the perks you mentioned have been nerfed (BT and DS). Stop pretending only killers get nerfs.

So high rank killers can win without Ruin and high rank Survivors can win against Ruin... tell me why Ruin needed changed then?
The devs explained their reasons. It's evident that, from their pov, in low ranks survivors struggle against Ruin much more than killers against gens. Also having 45-80% of matches with Ruin makes the game feel stale.

@Peanits made the comment that if you can't win as a killer without Ruin you would find yourself deranking to an appropriate level for your skills.
I find it funny that we could say the same thing about survivors, if you can't work through Ruin you would find yourself deranking to an appropriate level until you practice and learn. But of course he didn't say that because you know...
What tells you that isn't what happens? High rank survivors can power through because they spent time in lower ranks learning.

Then just get better like them... otherwise you’ll be dropped to a rank more appropriate.
I fail to understand the sense of this response
-
So dur dur you should just get better at hitting checks.
That's literally what high rank survivors did.

Nothing's wrong with gen speeds. If you can't keep all the survivors you're not chasing off a gen, can you really call yourself a good killer?
The passive-aggressive comment wasn't really necessary since I don't give a f* about Ruin, I never used it and never said I think gen speed is a problem.
I was just pointing out that part of the outrage is due to the fact people don't know the devs' stance on the matter and jump on the conclusion that they don't care, so saying something would help mitigate the bad mood.
-
This is a change I really despise about this patch. Hiding the problem won't solve it, and it feels kinda dishonest from BHVR to do that.

I must have missed the announcement. Where did they say this?
It wasn't announced, but it's in the leaked patchnotes

We expected outrage when doing a fundamental change to a perk used in such a large percentage of games. However, after playing with the new version, we're much happier with how it functions in the game as part of the whole system.
I think you guys could reduce a bit the outrage if you tell us your stance on gen speed, if you see there is a problem, if you're working on something etc. Just a little suggestion.

Lets start from developers, who nerf everything because of crybaby surv mains like you. With this ruin nerf they should decrease gen repair speed, but guess what, they only care about survivor gameplay acording how many times word "survivor" was used in patch notes.
Patch notes in short: Killer should try harder - survivor should play for fun. Grow up and learn how to skill checks or search for ruin, but no, developers let you just do gens and leave, like real pepega.
because of crybaby surv mains like you
Calling me "crybaby surv main" only because I disagree with you, without even knowing me, shows how immature and childish you are. If there's a crybaby, that's not me.
-
This community needs to grow up.
-
I agree, as a survivor Ruin made me very good with skillchecks so powering through it becama really easy, and that's true for a lot of experienced players. Against them Ruin is a wasted perk slot.
-
No need to nerf PT imo, but toolboxes need a rework imo. I'd love it if instead of buffing repair speed (which is dull) they affected skillcheck bonuses and dimentions.
-
Personally I don't understand this change. The whole point of shocking someone is to interrupt them to get a hit. Unless the pause is longer then the shock, it would have no purpose but to make the killer's gameplay feel sloppier. I'm curious to know how it will actually play out.
-
It's always nice seeing how mature this community is.
-
To be fair, that was irritating even as killer if you knew immersed survivors where close but you couldn't find them unless you wasted a ton of time.
-
That wouldn't solve anything. Traps are mostly useless if survivors know where they are.
-
I did it my accident with the Trapper while doing another challenge, and now that last one is sitting there, mocking me after every match. I feel you.
-
@bomb1720 said:
sorry i don't understand what you first said. if the tome and challenge stays active forever, what closes in now 2 days? also if i don't complete that challenge will i be able to use tome 2?
when i use the hag in the way you said, survivors learn what i'm doing and decide not to bother rescue. i manage mostly 2 kills sometimes 3. also i don't think i have the last two perks you mention for traper or ruin :(
i have also tried to play dirty using insidious and of coarse i'm wasting my time cos they have kindred.
i have tried and tried so many times...:(
The Rift is what is closing. What happens is that the challenge you haven't completed will not award you 3 Rift fragments (which you don't need anymore since you said you're at lv 70), but that's it. You'll still get the lore page and the bloodpoints.
-
I don't think opening a gate would be a solution, but I agree something should be done because the 1v1 endgame is so biased it becomes dull.
What would help imo would be to add LoS blockers around the gates, or else, when the hatch is closed light up the lights on the gate lever. In both cases it would force the killer to actually patrol the gates instead of peeking from afar to see if the lights are on.

I get the windows(reason why i run resilience always now),but if you get hit through a pallet you probably deserved to get hit for dropping it to late.Unless you mean you drop down a pallet and then you get hit when the pallet is already dropped which is dedicated servers infact.
I was referring to the second case. I see it happen very frequently.
-
Not cleanse and you can say goodbye to stealth, healing and pallets (since people will waste them in no time).
Cleanse and you can say goodbye to your team since most people are not smart enough to go stealth mode when the Plague is powered up.
Both choises are wrong (and the reason I pretty much hate facing the Plague).
Jokes aside: Cleanse. Corrupt Purge is not as strong as everyone say and is countered by the most elemental stealth. Whenever I face no-cleanse teams it ends in a 4k.
-
I feel the game should promote the strategy of divide and conquer rather than stick together to gen rush.
I feel you have no idea of what gen rush means. 4 survivors each on a generator is way more efficient than having multiple survivors on one, you don't want to divide them by making coop actions even less efficient.
Also skillchecks difficulty won't change anything. Just think of Ruin and how it made good survivors even better at skillchecks, people will just get better at them.

But is it a significant amount or just 50-100 points? I'm trying to figure out if they are trying to give me extra points, themselves extra points, or if they are just being obnoxious asshats.
If it's the later I just don't want to feed into that kind of childish behavior, but I don't want to misjudge their intentions either.
It doesn't bother me in the least, other than they are holding the game hostage waiting for me to chase them out.
Minimum 200, more if the "chase" lasts longer. Plus you can get distraction and assist points too if there are other survivors (which are 250 each iirc).

Thou the fact it doesn't affect perks like DS makes the very slight buff against pallets essentially useless.
Playing as a survivor, I barely see any killer run Enduring. If I see a killer running enduring, its mainly for spirit fury.
That's probably becasue thanks to dedicated servers pallet stuns are free hits most of the times.
-
Don't tell me you're this guy I met yesterday...

@Fibijean said:
So just to be clear, since that was a lot to digest - is the point you're trying to make that the game is more or less balanced as is, in terms of kill rate versus escape rate, and therefore making it more difficult for survivors to achieve their objective without similarly rebalancing the killer objective would throw things off-balance and increase kill rates disproportionately?
Just wanting to make sure I've understood you correctly.
I think the point is that gen rush is the only thing keeping tunneling/camping in check. If repairing gens was a slower process, those tactics would be stronger.
For example facecamping since the beginning generally allows you to secure one kill, and most likely get another in the endgame, but if given more time it could probably secure 2 kills plus one in the endgame.
To be honest I agree with this reasoning, and it might also be the reson the devs haven't done anything in this regard aside giving more perk choices.

Practice will not make them fun to play, skills unnecesary punishing killers in diferent ways for using them or making them dificult. As well addons not supose to make skill playable if it is this way its a design flaw and should be remade. Get out of ur box getting good will not make skills nice to use it will only mean that you overcome obstacles.
It seems to me you're not having fun because you are too focused on the outcome. You must accept that you are new and will ######### up often until you'll learn.
-
I saw many possible changes that would make the addon more fair, but the one I like the most is to add a distance requirement.
If IH worked only on throws beyond a certain distance (I think 12 meters would be fair for both killer and survivor) it would make them dodgeable but rewarding if the killer has a good aim/prediction.
-
Doc is a bit stronger, more fun, especially more versatile and his laugh is contagious (but I guess that is personal preference, the Clown laughs a lot too).
As others said, you might want to wait and see what the soon-to-come changes will be before buying him, but for what I saw I would still recommend him.
-
It seems it is slowly growing to me. Don't worry about matchmaking, every winter there is some gamebreaking bug that they can't fix because vacations. At this point it's part of the tradition.
-
Yes it does. You will get a beam 35m long and almost 4m wide. The combination is known as Sniper Doc, if you want to look some more.
-
Nope. If you think you can't punish a Wraith's mistake you're wrong, and I get the feeling you never bothered playing him. His biggest strenght is the ability to take survivors by surprise, if you don't let him you countered half of his power.
-
I think they have mostly an aestetic value, especially the purple one which gives a nice touch to maps. But gameplay wise I don't find them impactful.
