  • Aside from the above points, hatch is very in line with the horror genre. One person usually escapes by some tunnel, door, etc. Having the hatch makes perfect sense. Trust me, the last thing you want is a Blendette hanging out in bushes for 40 minutes because there is no hatch option.

  • Waste of a perk slot. Way too situational to afford it a perk slot. Then again, I feel DS is also a waste of a slot since it is one time use.

  • Just had my 3rd hard camping Spirit in 5 matches. Wife quit so back to killer. Thank the heavens. Survivor is nearly unbearable during events.

  • Those saying this is a competitive game are seriously missing the mark. Every game can be competitive. Go Fish, Uno, Jack's but that does not make it a competitive game. DbD is designed to be a casual party game. The devs have said that rank is merely there to allow players to enjoy the game by being pitted against others of their skill level.

If DbD were competitive, then there would be reward for rank, as a first step. There is none. You barely get bragging rights as we all know rank means nothing.

Now, back to watching the World Go Fish Championships on ESPN, The Ocho.

  • Welcome to the blood hunt, or any DbD event. Total chit show every time.

  • @Peanits Are ther no players in the U.S. on steam? Every lobby is 15 minutes just to get Eastern Europe players with high latency.

    Matchmaking issues again?

  • @Galklife said:

well i guess we wont get casual gamemode :( (some ppl run op stuff because they believe its competitive game xd and rank matters, so just making gamemode which doesnt have impact for their rank would make them change their minds at least i think so

im keeping myself between rank 8 and 10 all the time because im sick tired of tryharding ppl (from both sides) i like my silly builds, not using slowdown perks, or at most running 1 meta perk for surv (exhaust perk) and dont have to worry about 3 blink nurse 4men slugging or 4 blendettes hiding in corners with only desire to do gens xd red ranks and high purple aint fun because when ppl think sth is competitive (nice joke but ppl think this way) there is too little room for fun

Agreed. Sometimes I just want to put around and play Hag's totem. Any hex, insidious, and just guard the pretty totem the whole match. When survivors figure it out, they usually become obsessed with destroying it and we have a blast. Sometimes, you get the toxic warts who talk like they just won the World Series in a sweep because they got out.....even when you were clearly not trying.

The players often are the worst part.

  • There is a reason que time skyrocket during blood hunts. Killers get way more BP per hour easily. I ran several matches letting everyone go, not farming, and getting 150k or more. In the same amount of time, I can run several survivor matches and maybe get 100k. Not even close.

There is no doubt that survivors need more BP. I don't think higher rewards are needed though. Just more BP boost perks. Survivors should have a perk like Chili that gives a boost to ALL BP gains, bot just one category. Maybe they earn a stack for productive actions like healing, distractions, gens, totems, boxes. I really think that would work.

  • Not sure the husk is able to be interacted with. Purpose is to delay hatch opening when suicide on hook or when slugged.

I don't agree with the concept as I consider finding that last survivor in time to be part of my job.

  • I'm a killer, but I've played some survivor lately, so I feel qualified to bring forth the letter Z. Looks kinda like some of those weird room setups in Hawkins, but is really just the letter Z.

  • Had an extreme of that last night. 2 survivors worked with the killer. Very suspicious because the match starts and both survivors stop vaulting a window and a pallet. We all started together. The killer started nearby and came straight over. The survivors start following me and pointing and the killer comes straight for me.

From there it is me getting downed, them healing till I'm up, then getting downed again. After 6 times I DC. The 2 survivors had Bond, Herbalism, WGLF, and PTS. I suspect the fix was in.

  • Would not be the first time I've been the Sole Survivor. If you have any ideas, I'm All Ears.

  • I'll wait to go after everyone else. I'd like to Save the Best for Last. Or, We'll Make It up as we go along.

  • Though it is not the worst, it is pretty bad.

  • Goes both ways. Played with my wife a few matches. No items brought in by anyone, killer loads up Ebony Mori and tunnels down 3 players one by one. I got hatch and he complained about survivors. #########?!

These events just bring out the worst.

  • I will say this, I've been seeing a strange set of game crashes the past 2 days. I was letting some survivors leave and they suddenly go DC at the gates. Happened 3 times. Had a survivor crash while trying to unhook. I thought he DCd, but another said he was reaching for him, then stopped and crashed.

    I have crashed several times.

  • Don't remove any of them. I would not mind NOED being tweaked to a 1 minute timer, but not removed. It has a place with end game builds.

I think they was booing the Freddie not you.. Hopefully 🐖

I figured it was either that or sarcasm, so I used some fun sarcasm back.

  • How dare I not allow myself to be farmed by survivors and killer working together. Cone of shame.

  • I can honestly say that I've never loaded up DS. I'm just not much for one-time use perks. Adrenaline, DS, etc. I'd rather perks that work the whole match instead of situational perks.

Good on you, enjoy the genrush and depips while I play a fair and balanced game.

I hit reds just fine. Maybe you should get gud?

  • I was playing Trapper's House on Ormont. I get all the traps and put them in the house with only one open egress. When I down people, I bring them in the house to play. An entire group of survivors, 2 solo and 2 SWF joined me to play and they danced on the floor among my traps. When I let one up, he let the others up, and they ran into my traps and screamed with joy!

In all honesty, we had a great laugh afterwards. Should not have worked, but it did.

  • @MemberBerry said:

Until there's a secondary objective in the game, and until keys are reworked, lobby dodging should never be punished imho.

Lobby dodging is just a coward's way out. I don't care what they bring in. I'm going to play the match vs whoever shows up in my lobby. I don't have a fragile ego that requires I only get opponents that look like I could beat. Nope.

  • Sure, but they won't go for that. They won't even lift our BP cap. No way will they give this type of reward. I wish they would. Would make dealing with the toxic cry babies in red ranks worth it.

  • I admit, I Dcd earlier. A freddy started the match in sight of me and we had a short chase. No biggie. Then he slugs me and camps me. Ok. When survivors show up, he let's them heal me from dying and then downs me before I can move. He repeats 6 times, shaking his head yes to the other two. Then they leave me slugged and go looking for the 4th survivor. I Dcd at that point. Not being farmed by others against my will. They did the same to the other till she Dcd.

  • @Carlosylu said:

Cause Inner Strenght kicked the S out of Self Mending and Second Wind, less time to heal, easy conditions to trigger, you get to hide whyle healing, any questions?

I actually like IS as both a killer and survivor. When you look at the breakdown, the time saved up front is not much, if any. Time spent looking for a totem plus time spent cleaning plus time spent getting to locker plus 8 seconds in locker equals the time spent using SC in many instances.

As a killer, I like that your off the gens doing this. I rarely, if ever, run NOED so feel free to kill dull totems. As survivor, I like the efficiency of being able to cleanse a totem while healthy and storing that heal for later. Can be efficient if I don't waste time actively looking for the totem.

  • I found it too situational, especially for solo play. Not worth a perk slot. I don't play as much survivor anymore, so I tend to focus on efficient perks that can be used in most situations. SW is way down that list.

  • Dailies, or the rare instances where I recognize a survivor that was toxic in previous matches. My toxic bar is pretty high, so you gotta be pretty blatant to meet the mori qualification.

  • @sluc16 said:

Ruin is used waaay too much, killers have no other option, if no ruin is used, gens gets fixed too quickly if you are not using a killer that can apply good map pressure. So is ruin or loose, and is not even a sure thing since it can get broken quickly.

So the fact that they are pretty much forced to use ruin because otherwise they don't have good fighting chance means the game is not correctly desingned. If the game was well designed and balanced there would be no need of so many killers using this perk.

Just my opinion. Don't be saulty

This is completely wrong. I use Trapper and am colorblind to the point that most maps make me have to hunt by movement. I use several builds with no ruin to great success. Matter of fact, my best SWF build does not have ruin and usually nets 3k minimum vs them.

Problem is that many killers don't understand map pressure. They try to control large maps and tunnel themselves away from key gen areas.

If I'm on a large map, I'm trapping the area with the highest concentration of gens and pushing you off. I don't need ruin for this. I often like Lullaby for it better as it is often ignored until it's too late. At higher ranks, Lullaby won't work though. But having a field full of traps around 4 to 5 gens does. I won't leave that area unless there are only 2 survivors left.

    No ruin needed.

Playing survivor btw ;) nice to assume I was playing killer. I just know how ppl act pretty well and why.

Just going off what you wrote. I play both, but mostly killer. I admittedly avoid survivor like the plague during these events. I tend to take my foot off the gas as killer too.

  • Pure crap, as expected.

Survivors DC'ing the minute you down the first one. Or, they are 4 man swf with a full load of instant heals. AT least I get some points on the latter one.

Killers loading up ebony mori, tunneling and face camping like it is their national past time.

I say disable Mori and instant heals during these events. Use it as a test run.

It's a good time to treat survivors to a ebony mori for all the Gen Rushing, Toxicity, Tea-Bagging, ETC that they do.

My first survivor hour consisted of these kinda actions. Sad part is survivors get little bloodpoints, but killers will still get a ton from this.

That's a good way to make more toxic survivors. Especially since most don't act that way. Most just play the game. Guess all that salt is starting to fall right out of you eh?

  • @Ihatelife said:

What the killer can say? 4 SWF with the best items and addons, that spam you with flash and teabag in every situation.

Those are the SWF's I will actually hunt during bloodhunt. Otherwise, I get my 4 chili hooks, have some chases, destroy pallets/kick gens, etc and let em go. I still rake in 80k bp easily. If someone gets toxic/stupid, I kill em. No need to indiscriminately be an ass and facecamp/tunnel. Play normal, sure, but these events bring out the worse players on both sides.

  • Honestly, one of the biggest reason the forums are so divided is because BHVR refuses to mitigate it. They limit personal attacks, but allow silly posts about "Survivor Mains this" "Killer Mains that" and it only further divides the community. If you are someone who plays both, but favors one side due to personal reasons, you see it much more clearly.

If BHVR deleted the posts that focus ONLY on accusing one side or the other of childish/toxic behavior, I think much of the divide would fade to a tolerable level. Just look through the forums and you will see scores of pointless posts that do nothing but demonize the other side. Those are allowed to grow and fester.

  • Can we start deleting these posts? Seriously, they add nothing to the conversation about the game and any of us can show survivors or killers acting like idiots. I vote we delete these as soon as they are posted. Pointless and only further divides the community and breeds more toxic behavior. We have enough already.

Nobody cares if someone was mean to you. We all get it done to us as well. Move along.

  • Just happened again. Wait 25 minutes for a match, it drops before it loads, back to waiting 25 minute for a lobby. #########

  • If it is not a farming simulator, then its a sweat factory. These events bring out the worst.

I think that's more of an unfun factor rather than an OP factor. If these add-ons were made in a way to be more interactive, then I don't think most survivors would mind in my opinion.

For example, iridescent hatchets are comparable to a FPS sniper — no one likes to be on the receiving end of a headshot (sniper headshots are usually oneshots).

Therefore, my idea to make iridescent hatchets more fun is to make them a "One in the Chamber" add-on. If you miss, you will have to refill at a locker, and if you hit someone, you will deal 1 health state worth of damage and you won't have to refill. :)

WOw, that is actually a good idea. I'd say that every time you hit with a hatchet, you refill hatches with an Iridescent. That would be a great shift. ENdless hatchets if you are good enough with them.

  • The only change I think Pig needs is to have her end game fixed. She was a great end game killer, but EGC destroyed her. Fix that, and she will be better off.

  • @FireHazard I fully agree. It is what keeps me coming back for more.

  • @joan Some if it is because there are some survivors who play very toxic. They mock the killer, often are deranked to toy with the killer. Then get very toxic after the match. It causes some who might otherwise be casual to become jaded. Luckily, I played survivor long enough to know what it is like to have toxic killers and play styles. Therefore, I tend to ignore toxic survivors and take their "victory" with a grain of salt. What keeps me coming back is the fun survivors who make for a great game, and sometimes some foolishness as well.

  • Toxicity is so high during these things. I avoid survivor at all cost. Between other toxic survivors, and seriously sweaty killers running moris and tunneling like mad-men, it is just not worth it. I can handle it as killer, I just destroy the toxic players, and toy around with the fun ones. Makes it worth it.

Unfortunately, most people know killer is the route to go in a bloodhunt and the que times get sooooo bad.

  • @rd_dex said:

Everyone playing killer because bloodhunt and killers get more points, and many killers bring some bullshit addons just to ruin your games so survivors switch to killer as well.

This, exactly. I despise playing survivor during bloodhunt. It is the worst experience in this game. Sweaty killers, crap team members, wasted addons/offerings. Killer is the only route to go during blood hunts.

  • @UkilledLegion said:

@Peanits I mean if friends like play together let play with random killer but noone (killer and survivors) not get rank and BP. I think u know that VOICE in SWF its a big trouble because Voice is a advantage, voice its when some killer's perks not work. But thanks for answer

I have joined matches with random solo players where they advertise their Discord server to join voice chat. If you think SWF is the only time this is done, you are fooling yourself. Most SWF groups are not very good. This is a lot of fuss over nothing.

  • People seem to forget this is a casual party game. Not something you punish friends for playing together.

  • @Captain_Spaulding said:

It's time for everyone to rally together for the Double BP event. I wanna see only Bloody Party Streamers used as offerings for this. Killers, stop using moris. It's a dickish move. We all only want one thing. To ease our grind for even a day. Survivors, don't be greedy asshats and only use envelopes. We all want the BP. Please people. It's time we all stood together! Now get out there and earn those BP's!

As killer, I'll use streamers, etc. As survivor, you could not pay me to use them during double BP. Too many crap survivor players and ultra sweaty killers during double BP to waste those things. Just played 4 survivor matches at the wife's request. Each one was a mori with purple addons and a tunnel-fest with dumb survivors.

I don't know why anyone wants to play survivor during blood hunts. I despise it. I'll take the longer que times as killer any day.

  • @Rydog said:

I tried out Fixated a few times, and I found it to be pretty underwhelming.

Agreed. Similar to Mindbreaker for Demo. Useful vs gen tap when survivors try while being chased, but very situational.

  • Most don't play both sides. If they did, it would likely be more about toxic vs non toxic play.
