  • Sabo is seesaw mechanic it's unlikely that it will ever really see too much of a buff.

  • Because people are free to play whatever characters they want to play.

Same way people are free to play with whatever perks they want to play.

You have no right to dictate to anybody what they should or shouldn't play with.

If it's such a prevalent problem don't play the game.

  • @Dehitay said:

I saw just put a global sound for dull totems getting destroyed like there's a global sound for hex totems being destroyed so solos can count them based off that. And then add a counter to Small Game for extra utility.

Sounds pretty fair gives the information but if you're not running the perk it requires you to pay attention.

    Really nice suggestion

  • They talked about doing this a while back.

However they couldn't decide how to implement it.

Should it work like thrill of the hunt and be attached to a perk or should it be baseline

Also the community is pretty divided about it as well.

  • Amanda and Legion interchangeably. Also Demi Logorgon however not as frequent as the other two.

For the most part I essentially play the game to have fun. I don't have many issues outside of a couple of balancing ones. However the toxicity of the community is not something I'm fond of.

    Rampant disconnects for no reason

The string of toxic messages not talking about in game bm or cheeky trolling that's fine in my book. it's when you actively message people insulting things that you can start making things a problem

As for balancing the games a lot better than what it used to be. Well I think that some perks add-ons and baseline powers still need to be looked over.

Because a lot of perks and addons on both the killer and the survivors side are basically useless.

They really needs to be some baseline power changes. Because there's a massive problem when some killer powers are actively more detrimental to use then just regular m1 gameplay case in point Legion

Shooting themselves in the foot means nothing if the game is good enough as people have shown time and time again they would play it regardless. According to most complaints they are on essense saying DBD does the dame with a buggy game and questionable changes.

Take Friday as that was made on a pretence that the lawsuit wouldn't affect the game but that was info from the owners of the rights at the time. That wasnt the issue the game had though and neither was the price. People will pay money for a good game. The game started well but lost most of its playerbase within 1-2 months. It's wasn't a case of shooting themselves in the foot but rather the game for what it was didn't hold many peoples attention.

You got to realise during the lawsuit the last thing the playbase was left with was an update that made playing the game a lot more frustrating and buggy.

Hyped content that a lot of people were excited for basically cancelled with a lot of progression still in there.

Absolutely no future content to look forward to.

I'm not saying Friday was perfect granted there's a reason I jumped ship for dead by daylight.

Well that statement says more about what the devs have been doing right than wrong.

Every game so far thats came out in the genre has been the one that will destroy DBD and not one has been able to actually compete with this game.

WOW is a classic example in the MMO genre as the same thing happens. People constantly complain about the devs are and how bad the patches are but it still wears the crown 15 years after release.

I mean technically most of them shot themselves in the foot rather than having an inability to compete

Friday is probably the best example of a game that literally got shot in the foot because of greed which completely shut down any hope of it growing

The huntress perk that also gives 50% more hunting points is better for that, since survivors won't spend all match fighting to take away your bonus BP lol

yeah but refused to touch beast of prey with a 10-foot pole.

At least with thrill they may be able to take it away but I won't leave the match feeling stupid for even running it

  • It's pretty much the exact same as somebody vault spamming.

Sometimes I run thrill of the hunt just for blood points but if you want to waste your time messing with it instead of doing gens that's on you

  • An idea update from @UlvenDagoth

    Never forget.

so 115%, no losing power on miss, DW makes you take a penalty to eveything but mending, cooldown should be less, OR use the power when the bar isnt full

Also for the record Open Handed is a great perk, and (I think, not sure) it can be stacked twice in a team, with one exception which I’ll outline.

    So it works with:

    • key aura reading ranges
    • OoO (from a potential 72m to 80m or 88m if you’re the Obsession. From 64m to 72m or 80m if not the Obsession)
    • Bond (from 36m to 44m or 52m)
    • Kindred (I believe it has a hard cap. Can only be extended to 24m of killer aura reading. 2 Open Handed don’t extend Kindred beyond 24m)
    • Plunders Instinct (from 32m to 40m or 48m)
    • Left Behind (from 32m to 40m. 2 Open Handed won’t work because whomever else may have ran it is either dead or escaped already)
    • Detectives Hunch (from 64m to 72m or 80m)

I think I’ve covered everything. Not sure if I’ve forgotten something that has a range restriction.

It also increases the aura range limit that knockout implements

  • If it's a friend I usually tell them to just go for Hatch.

If I'm a solo survivor I will drag out my sacrifice process if I'm going down I'm at least making sure you have the potential of going down with me

  • Flashlights- I'm guessing you're referring to insta blinds sorry to burst your bubble but there's one not fun to deal with and they were incredibly cheap it made getting flashlight saves so easy it took no skill.

Insta heals- Resetting progress is not fun it wouldn't be a fun thing if I could just kick a gen that's been completed and have it automatically be regressed to 0. However unlike grasp rescues take skill and timing this was the easiest way to do it.

Medkit- on a whole have been buffed the only one that has become close to being nerfed is the emergency med kit and even then it's nerf is debatable.

Those people who want faster heals will consider it a buff and the people who wanted more consistent long lasting heals will consider it nerf

Toolboxes - they're not useless this point is irrelevant. The only thing I can think you're referring to with this is brand new parts and sorry to be the bearer of bad news but having 4 generators pop in 20 seconds was not fun or fair

Sabotaging- Welcome to the seesaw mechanic of the game. Legion was the seesaw killer and MoM was the seesaw perk.

You make sabotaging powerful and it becomes oppressive or you make it weak and it becomes pointless you can't really create a middle ground without forcing it it's either one or the other

The Devs already took a stand that DC = ban.

This means they NEED to take a stand that Anything = DC = Ban. (Anything that equates to DCing ALSO equals a ban)

This means things like delibrately dying on first hook. This can easily be fixed by removing that hated Struggle mechanic.

Make Struggling automatic, and remove the ability to give up. Fixed. People can't suicide. People hate the Struggle mechanic anyways.

Then they're just going to purposely run to the Killer.

If they can't kill themselves then they could just make the killer help them with assisted suicide

(Once again without context this sounds really bad)

In my experience Fengs are considered selfish which is why they're mostly seen as toxic.

In-general though, I wish people didn't lump others into such categorys off of these stereotypes alone. That, and they tend to be very mean towards these mains.

You know what I will take that selfish.

Mostly because I'm pretty sure I fit that.

When I'm playing Survivor even with my friends but more so if it's solo I run by 5 rule.

    1. You attempt to sandbag me in a way that is clearly intentional you better hope someone else is getting you off hook because I'm not doing it.

    2. I am more than willing to let someone bleed out to get hatch. I've let a potato Meg who refuse to open the hatch with a key when we were the only two people left bleed out and took her key so open the hatch when it got closed.

    3. I followed the rule of smart horror movie logic " go back for Billy screw billy billy is dead". Yeah I'm not putting myself at risk the exit gate is open and I have no reason to stay behind.

    4. If you get put in the basement by a Bubba, Tier 3 Myers, camping stealth killer or killer with 3 stacks of devour hope it's not my job to save you unless I can confirm the that killer is on the other side of the map. Bonus if it's a mint rag Hag or a fast travel demi Logorgon both running make your choice is not my job to save you at all.

    5. I can get you up from the dying state, I can heal you when you're injured, I can save you from a hook and I can get a grasp rescue if possible however I can't cure stupidity if you keep making the same damn mistake. You're on your own

  • @Centrum said:

And if someone has high afk times in matches (it can be tracked and recorded, easily. The idle crows track afk time), they get timeouts leading to bans.

People will always find a way to cheat, too. Does that mean we should let them cheat? No! It means we keep fighting back into the little scrubs find it too hard to scrub out & finally leave the game, leading to a much healthier game where people aren't DCing/Hook Suiciding/Idling.

Then you don't really have to go afk for a long time.

Especially if you get saved quick enough most Killers will go back to the hook, you just kind of have to stay there.

As annoying as it is there's always a way to work around these rules.

If you want to try to block every single possibility you then start to make the game very restrictive.

  • Is changes are really awesome.

Mettle - It was given extra requirement but it's still not overly easy as to become annoying for Killers.

Buckle up - I'm honestly not sure how much this change does in the grand scheme of things as you may not always have the option to body block.

Flip-flop - Honestly this changes great the increased value that's a lot more punishment to slugging without making it completely impossible or frustrating to get to hook. It also synergises well with mettle and we're going to live together giving you an actual reason to take hit as increased wiggle progression might actually save the person rather just taking the hit for the stack.

  • Disconnecting is one thing but when you deal with first hook suicides ( damn that's really weird statement without context) it's a very grey area.

Especially if it's not the last two people it's a very poor move on their part as you said it robs both the survivor and the killer of a lot of points and a lot of perk potential (with the exception of barbecue and pop goes the weasel).

However you can't exactly force a person to play a game.

You take away their ability to disconnect effectively which by right you should they are just going to kill themselves on first hook

Take away the ability to kill themselves on the first Hook and likelihood is that they're just going to stand there afk until they get killed on struggle phase.

  • If you like the toxic survivor stereotype is a weird one indeed you have the general ones because certain YouTubers made them popular for being toxic

That's your Claudette and Nea outside of that you'll tend to find different responses survivors who get the toxic category.

Personally besides my friend Jojo I have yet to run into a Quentin main who wasn't toxic.

Also Dwight main (not baby Dweets) tend to be very toxic at least for me.

However I've heard people say Feng Min mains of very toxic ( which I take personal offence to) I've also heard similar things about Ash and Tapp mains (yeah all 5 of them)

  • Don't get me wrong I love the Day of the Dead skins that are coming out.

    But no glowy bright

    No mutation

    You get the drift

  • Meg- simply because you either run into a potato Meg or toxic Meg there's not much in between.

Basically she'll be either completely useless and spend most of the games sandbagging you whether intentionally or unintentionally or she'll be either completely useless and spend most of the games sandbagging intentionally.

Plauge- mainly because if I'm playing solo survivor it's genuinely a dice toss on whether we're going to cleanse or not cleanse.

I could start the match with two other random people deciding not to cleanse only to have the last random cleanse and basically make us all one tap from a distance.

Ok fine I guess we're cleansing....... oh crap no now it seems that two of us are cleansing and two of us aren't so we're basically screwing each other over in the long run.

  • I'm just upset that Legion didn't get a cosmetic for Halloween.

I also really want a Halloween Feng Min.

So nothing is really worth spending any money on.

Worst case scenario when we actually get the chance to grind I'll probably get random bits and pieces of each cosmetic that match with some of the cosmetics already have for somebody's characters.

Yeah, DS is really not as powerful as it should be. It's sort of like Thanatophobia. On paper Thanatophobia is a weak perk, it's only strong because there's a genrush epidemic.

The main reason it's perceived as so powerful, is because so many killers just keep tunneling. Well of course you're going to eat DStrikes if that's the case.

If you don't tunnel, you won't even know there a Dstrike. And the main reason DStrike is so common and meta, is because so many killers are just tunneling away (whether on purpose hard tunneling or soft tunneling).

Good killers play "normally" as intended -- they hook and kill survivors as they go arund the map. They don't camp, they don't tunnel. And as they do that they learn optimal techniques to find and chase survivors. So they get good at the game and can 4K without resorting to cheap tricks.

Hard tunnelling and soft tunneling did we really have to make two separate definitions of it so people could still consider what's happening to them as tunneling

  • @Satsui said:

Or you know, you can play without tunneling / camping with a nurse that has 3 blinks and noed.

    lol just saying.

Jesus is sometimes I forget how up their own ass members of this community can be.

While I don't have a massive issue with defensive strike even though I do agree it could be a pain in the ass even when you're not tunneling.

It should not matter whatever perks they're running or what killer they play.

This goes for both killers and survivors you guys really need to get this sense of I'm on my high horse out of here.

Let people use whatever perks they want on whatever killer they want.

Survivors used whatever perk they want.

If you like it or not somebody using a specific perk doesn't make them a worse or better player.

People wonder why the Dead by daylight community is so toxic

  • I'm sick of the fact that 90% of the time people use the phrase tunneling it's not actually tunneling.

No Claudette just because you got unhooked and then ran into me does not mean I tunnelled you if you got downed.

No Jake just because you have a bear trap on does not mean me looking in your direction is tunneling.

No Meg if I haven't to find you again before I found anybody else I did not tunnel you.

And No Dwight just in case the above or any other situations happened to you does not mean you deserve a temporary truce.

Also if for whatever reason whether it be trying to get a flashlight save or a quick rescue you willingly come to me then act like I'm either blind or deaf and won't attack you that's on you. So no I didn't tunnelled you, your dumbass came to me

If the killer is going out of their way to exclusively chase after you and ignoring other people even though more advantageous to down them that is tunneling.

  • @RobJL87 said:

The important thing is that on their end, they were close enough to hit you.

That quote is very untrue, playing killer a lot of the time the mature killers say 'wow that hit?' A lot! Or the idiots 'hahahaha hitboxed!!!'

I've heard Killers go how did that miss and I've had survivors also respond with how that that miss.

Anything that involves physical contact when lag or ping is involved is going to suffer immensely.

Also no one in their right mind has ever gone hahaha hitboxed and if they did no one would know about it because their viewers probably died from cringing to death

  • Honestly I'm annoyed at linking the event with the Rift.

    I get it you're a business.

People who were planning on buying the battle pass were going to buy it anyway.

Adding the Bright Nurse to the premium pass instead of the store selection was just to sweeten the premium pass deal.

Having the serum in the free section gives a reason for people to constantly keep going back and checking the battle pass so they're more likely to notice something on the corresponding premium clear that they've unlocked that they probably want to get so they buy the premium.

Fine whatever I could take it, it's nowhere near as insidious is the stuff in EA Ubisoft and Activision have all done.

Not happy about is that the delay of the Chapter has now delayed the Halloween event.

Even if it was basically a pseudo bloodpoint event at this stage I was still looking forward to the hype of it now this just really not much point.

Hype has died down and we're most likely going to get the Halloween event after Halloween which is kind of sad considering we already missed the summer event

  • @Kerbert said:

I dont think its fair to patronize the devs for this (theres a lot better things to patronize the devs for instead). But this delay was either out of their control, i.e the power outage, or they want to make some more adjustments and changes to make the next patch/archives/event better.

"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad"

    Laughs in Duke Nukem Forever

  • I mean if you choose to use Deliverance infront of me and then waste decisive strike that's fine by me you just wasted two of your perks.

IM not talking about getting rid of ruin I can work through it. But it seems like I get the potato teammates that can't.

I'm talking about how killers CRY about dc'ing because it makes them lose points and how its not fair nor fun..But yet 8/10 games that I play killers do nothing but SLUG the second that they find someone.

I went a whole game on the ground because the nurse didn't want to pick me up..I was never hooked and seconds away from bleeding out so I just dc'd and yet I'm the one who was in the wrong.

Mkay, If killers want the DC's to stop then maybe they should change their game play JUST A BIT.

I don't slug when I play killer, Not at all..I either kill as many as I can OR i lose trying..Its a learing game, and you'll never learn NOR get BETTER if all you do is slug 4 people on the ground

First you're running under the assumption that everybody who dc's disconnected because they was slugged.

    I have had people disconnect because;

    They got downed first

They tried to BM and failed

    The Game

    The Memorial Institute

    Me playing Legion

    Me playing Spirit

    Me playing Freddy

Me playing nurse ( I'm guessing this was PTSD because I'm a baby nurse)

    Downs due to haunted grounds

    Getting down because of rancour

Being downed in general yeah literally for no reason other than they got downed

Camping a pallet or doubling back to get a cheeky stun leads to them getting hit through pallet

    Double trapping somebody as piggy

Mori by the way it was a cypress mori

Devour hope. the instadown or the mori it just seems to get disconnects

    They missed defensive strike

Couldn't use Deliverance got downed before a safe hook rescue

Put a bear trap outside of the locker when they tried the defensive strike locker trick

Head on into a swing when I had Iron Maiden

Mad grit + agitation and iron grasp combo

Got yanked off a gen twice in a row

Got yanked during a hook rescue

    Noed

Also I have many more experiences but I feel like you get the point

In my entire experience of playing I have had about 2 survivors disconnect because of slugging.

No please go on about how slugging is the reason why disconnections are so frequent.

The other day, I ordered McDonalds through UberEats. There was a significant delay, and the food was cold by the time I got it. I talked to UberEats and explained the situation, and within a few hours they had given me a full refund. I wasn't expecting a refund and I certainly don't believe I was entitled to one, but it did make me feel a lot better about my cold chips, and a lot more confident ordering food the next time.

Should BHVR give us anything? Depends how you define "should". They certainly are under no obligation to do so, and we shouldn't expect anything. Would I, in their place? Yes. It would help to ease some of the disappointment and inconvenience caused, and encourage people to be more forgiving next time. Whether or not the delay was their fault is irrelevant - compensation for inconvenience or dissatisfaction caused is just good PR.

I mean there's a slight difference not only did you pay for a good but you paid for the services for it to be delivered.

Resilience = 20% increase to self care speed bonus (Seperate from 9% injured bonus, but 9% no longer effects self care) this buff will give counterplay to the anti heal meta, whilst also buffing it, allowing one to choose whether or not they should stay injured and get risk/reward, or heal faster in order to play safe (20% counters sloppy butcher.)

Huntress buff = every hatchet she is not carrying under 5 hatchets (so not counting extra hatchets) will net her an extra 1% movement speed. this will allow her to not have to cut a chase short just to refill hatchets if she misses, allowing her to loop like a normal killer. also she should have a second ultra rare that restricts her to one hatchet, but allows that hatchet to be returned upon throwing and hitting a survivor/pressing the killer ability button once it hits a non survivor object.

brutal strength = simple, give it a 5% bonus to all other action speeds (pick up, vaulting, hooking etc.) as a begginer perk, which many fall back on much like enduring, i believe having a small active bonus would make it pair with fire up and other looping perks more effectively, whilst also shortening the killers time doing other things which is very valuable for a beginner.

Overcharge = increases gen regression speed slightly (by an extra half charge/single charge per second.) Possibly also a bonus to gen kicking speed anywhere between 15-25% in order for the killer to waste less time kicking gens applying it.

Yeah it's very possible too to just keep yourself at 99% healing and one tap when the killer gets close to you so can take the advantage of resilience and still be at full health state for a chase this doesn't need to be buffed.

If you want a counter to anti heal run

    Botany knowledge

    Autodidact

    Adrenaline

    Ironically enough resilience

    Second Wind

    Inner strength

    Solidarity

And if you're gutsy enough no mither.

Honestly the only buff that resilience needs is just to be combined with this isn't happening as there's no reason that they should be separate perks.

  • Honestly I would rather have them iron out balancing and bug issues then have them waste their time and resources pandering to entitled people.

Wait...what am I missing? I thought at tier 3 the gen is simply highlighted for longer. Why is that worse?

Because unlike surveillance which only activates once until you reapply it. Discordance will continuously give you a notification it's better to have that notification pop up more periodically ( every 8 seconds) so you could tell if people are still working on the gen to get it than once every 12 seconds when people could have easily left

  • I've had one time when I was leveling up my Legion to get the Demi Logorgon perks on them The Entity literally refused to take Discordance tier 2 until the very last second and that was because there was nothing else for it to take on the blood web

Hell even The The Entity doesn't want to touch anything above Discordance tier 1 with a 10-ft pole

The Nightmare can see the aura of sleeping survivors outside of terror radius. Tremendously increases teleporting activation time. Teleporting can't be negated.

One less slow down add on to deal with

Considering survivors drift asleep passively and you could hit them to fully pull them into the dream this would be the most useless add-on for making people fall asleep and probably the most annoying add-on to go up against because Freddy would just have permanent aura reading on everybody without having to do anything to them

  • It's not going to happen that would mean they would have to balance out two different types of Freddy.

You would have to make a balance changes that will make sure both versions of Freddy aren't too overpowered or too underpowered.

What you're suggesting isn't a simple transformative add-on like scratched mirror or or Amanda's letter. It's not just enhancing one part of the kit to change gameplay,

It's completely changing everything about the kit to something completely different.

Because of that you would have to take special attention into adjusting each of these variations with each balance change

@ReviloDBD a way to get a 4k without slugging is to use perks that allow you to keep tabs on the last 2. Whispers, Sloppy Butcher, Discordance, Surveilance, Nurse's Calling, Dying Light etc. These allow you to leave survivors on their feet and do the objective at a slow/hesitant rate while you look for he elusive 4th man. Keeping tabs on the vulnerable one is a very reliable strategy to get a 4k without slugging. You need to not make it blatant that you're leaving them alone on purpose though so they don't just start hiding and doing nothing too. But Whispers is your best bet if you want to find the 2 survivors at end game and 4k without slugging

And there are also ways to counter slugging with perks like tenacity unbreakable, no mither, flip-flop.

I don't see your point the use x perk can be applied to both sides

I actually love using Amanda's letter. Granted it's not a great add-on, but combined with the video tape makes an ambush attack only game pretty fun.

Honestly I'm not going to lie I really wish they went all in with the transformative nature of it.

The bear trap and the Jigsaw boxes they leave you with it's not really worth it.

So instead I wish they'd just removed the Jigsaw boxes and bear traps all together whilst using in but instead heavily boost the ambush potential not only in aura reading but extra effects as well.

So using Amanda's letter would give you a completely new way to play pig in a similar way to how scratched mirror Myers please differently from a regular Myers.

  • Quick add-ons run through

Video tape medical file combat straps are always your best investment option.

The add-ons relating to RTB aren't all terrible they tend to be unreliable so don't go too crazy with them.

The add-ons that give you extra skill checks when doing jigsaw boxes or increase the penalty for messing up a skill check is not worth it the second you start to hit high ranks because no one is going to mess up skill checks.

The status condition add-ons are pretty much all terrible.

Exhaustion - is meh but why you focusing so much attention on chasing people who aren't working on gens. ( keep in mind I'm not saying you shouldn't chase people with reverse bear traps and saying they're not high priorities so investing too much attention it is kind of a waste)

Hemorrhage - is the terrible status condition in general but once again why are you focusing so much attention on tracking people who aren't doing gens

Mangled - it's not hard to take the trap off and then heal afterwards

Blindness - This is probably the only time you hear me say this in relation to a blindness add-on but it's pretty decent because it's pseudo permanent and it can work on a niche slugging build. However niche is niche

Stall addons I'm putting these together because they essentially all do the same job.

    Jigsaws annotated plan

    Bag of gears

    Jigsaw sketch

    create of gears

Now you come onto where I say these add-ons are good but unreliable when they work they work very well and waste a lot of time but the survivor could very easily just take the trip on the first or second box making them pretty useless.

Still definitely worth getting but try not to hold too much hope in them

Tampered timer whilst it a pressure tool to stop people from doing things other than jigsaw boxes it has the same problem as the section above.

If they get it off in the first or second box it's pointless and if they get it off before the trap activates it's pointless

Amanda's secret- avoid this like the plague ( no not that one) seriously there is no reason why you would want to use this it is literally a primary contender for worst add-on in the game

Rule set no.2 - It's a decent add-on should be baseline it's not really worth the ultra-rare status.

Amanda's letter- my personal most favourite add-on I really like how transformative it is however it is bad even though it's my favourite I could at least admit that.

  • I think people tend to hate the build when he combines it with dying light and thanatophobia.

Combine that with Pop Goes the Weasel and it can make the game go painfully slowly

  • On the survivor side there is literally nothing Halloween themed for Feng Min who is my main survivor.

On the killer side when it comes to my three mains two of them are licensed Amanda and Demi Logorgon

Both of which don't really have cosmetics that really scream Halloween

The next one is Legion who also doesn't have anything Halloween themed however they're getting a Day of the Dead cosmetics but that's about it and it's not going to be released by the time Halloween rolls around.

I occasionally play Wraith and Hag when not playing my mains so I guess.

    Wraith

    His blight head

His suit from his valentine cosmetic

Scarecrow weapon or his sickle weapon. To make a dapper spooky boi.

    Hag

    Blight hair

    Leafeon hag body

    And snake arm
