  • Yes of the top of my head a very generous licence holder is Lionsgate with the Saw content. One that seems a bit more strict is the Nightmare on Elm street one can't remember the name but I'm not 100% sure on this .

  • @CircusClowns said:

Killers don't want to play against survivors with insane brightness settings and ADHD. They want chill and enjoyable matches.

Exactly I do this sometimes particularly after having a bad match when I play killer. Some chill killers just like a break and perhaps don't need bp.

If I win the lottery I'm going to buy a huge mansion with a huge backyard, huge swimming pool, everything!

I would invite the entire DBD community, mods, devs, casuals, tryhards, everyone for a IRL get together. I would pay your travel expenses and everything.

Do you think it would be fun? Killer Mains meeting MFT lovers and all kinds of people?

Because I think in real life we would have fun with no toxicity and have civilized conversations about the game.

    Would you attend?

I think Bubba mains might need bodygaurds and so would Skully mains some people still despise her.

Just want to say thank you for this. So many players (not just in DBD) have this sense of entitlement that they had it first, they are special.... now nobody else can have it. As someone who DID buy all the Stranger Things content before it left the game, I am happy that it's returned so new players can enjoy it too.

I know having access to purchase every chapter is kind of a basic right to everyone. It wasn't the devs who wanted to remove it because it's less money for them. If you bought itbefore hand you just got use of the chapter when new people didn't.

So this is embarrassing...I can't believe I made a whole discussion explaining why I was going to uninstall after finishing the rift and less than three days later you bring Stranger Things back lmao why would you do this to me 😭😭

How is my demo main self supposed to leave when the bestest dog can finally roam in Hawkins and I can actually see him from the survivor pov..

For real though, super thrilled the licence is back ! I'm really happy newer players will finally be able to get the characters, the map was always a favorite of mine and fixated will actually show up when I look for it with the search option.

I'll probably still want to uninstall when the nostalgia beam fades, but in the mean time hell yeah Stranger Things is back !!!

Same with me I literally stopped playing 5 days ago to take a break and I never bought ST on my new account. I feel you hopefully it doesn't get taken out of the game again. I heard it came out in Fortnite and I checked the DBD youtube channel and I saw the original trailer.

They are planned to become character exclusive perks in a later patch. But for now they are still general perks but they have their old names and text back.

Ok. That makes sense. Thank you.

I feel the same, though last time I said as such on here it turns out I was in the minority 😅 someone did say something that I sympathised with - that they love Claire from Resident Evil, and want to play as her but feel penalised for doing so. So I'm torn.

Not only is it injury and breathing sounds that differ in volume but footsteps are another difference I've found too. They seem to change based on the type of footwear they have, and I find that detail quite cool.

This is the problem I'm a huge RE fan and want to play Jill literally alerts the whole trial where she is. Also Feng I think is quite loud. It adds variety but it stops people from playing some of their favourite characters.

  • @Sandt1985 said:

I'm kinda blown away that anyone in the multiverse thinks MFT wasn't problematic...

I play mostly 50/50 but never used MFT. Most survivors want to rely on perks instead of practicing. And according to the main post all of Myers perks are good. Huntresses perks are definetly overpowered. Never forget the devs nerfed the eruption meta which was justified and I feel like DH took five years but it must has been two months.

I will never understand people who defend perks like MFT and DH.

  • Could console players do well with him now? I have prayed for this.

  • @D0NN1ED4RK0 said:

I would trade MFT for 5 second DS stun to come back

Agreed. DS is useless against DeathSlinger now.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

The game either needs K&M support on console or BHVR needs to stop designing killers specifically for K&M. Blight and Trickster all but literally spit in the console player's face. I main Nemesis, and I love him but I know part of the reason is because he compensates for some of consoles' limitations: strafing with the tentacle is what makes his power actually useable on controller, and his zombies aren't hindered by the performance issues. BHVR should be embarrassed those are reasons someone would choose a specific killer in their roster.

I know I bought Blight with shards recently for undying and I wanted to see how he is on console and he is a nightmare. I main pig and even her ambush can be tricky getting around corners. People have to choose killers that are actually usable on console. I love pig but it would be nice to try play other killers that aren't M1 so I can perform well and not get tbagged and flashlighted.

    @Lost_Boy said:

Apparently it's also got something to do with Microsoft/Sony making it very difficult to implement on console. I'm pretty sure they could do it though if they really cared about console players (which they don't). Next best thing would be cross progression so you could at least play on PC if you've spent a lot of time/money on your console account.

Other games have done it if they keep designing killers like Blight, Huntress, Trickster and more then it is just unfair if they are only catering to one platform. You are right they clearly don't care the game has been out for over 7 years and they still do this. I can understand cross progression because Sony hates doing that kind of thing I don't know how games like Fortnite get away with it, though I do think BHVR need to push harder.

All of this could lead to them losing even more players and judging how they were before the event based on the steam players they need console players just as much.

Also sorry if this seems is a bit of a rant. It just frustrates me and many others.

  • I bought her recently with shards and tested if she is still really ridiculosly good at 3 gen stratagies. She still is not as good but after playing a few matches that way it's not that bad but not losing stacks is completly unfair. They should last 3-5 mins max not 20-30. I find her more fun to play in an anti loop way but is not nearly as effective.

  • When I used to main Huntress and still when I play a few matches with her I'll be lying in my bed and then I hear the lullaby. Not a dream or a nightmare but its always there in the back of my mind.

You must be in low mmr / facing baby blights if “most rage quit”. Good blights don’t rage quit.

No they don't its the survivors that usually rage quit why rage quit when they get merciless in less then 10 minutes.

    Yeahhh....

    It's really not good.

You will be happier ignoring it's existence.

You will also miss out on nothing concerning John's storyline. Trust me.

Agreed Spiral in my opinion was the worst Saw movie. The villain was so unlikable in my opinion. But at least it got us Pig cosmetics.

  • 15 is the sweet spot it means you've gotten chases in and its not just gen simulator. 20 is max and 10 is ok as well for me.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

    10-15 minutes.

Sure, outliers are possible, but they should be rare. If we look back at the Eruption-Meta, games took longer than 15 minutes on quite a regular basis. This was too long, if the Killer needs 20+ minutes to win the game (most likely they won, I did not really experience many games where the game took this long and the Survivors won, simply by the way how DBD works), they were not even good, they just used enough to prolong it to that.

And anything below 10 minutes, especially if it comes close to 5 shows that the Matchmaking for that game was really bad, because either the Survivors won too fast or the Killer won too fast.

I still have nightmares from the gen kicking meta. I still find it funny that when they nerfed eruption they added SM which was even worse. Thankfully I think we're out of there now.

  • I have. I don't know about anyone else but personally I didn't like the disiple in that. Same with the copycat in Spiral The Book of Saw. I'm a huge Saw fan and have seen most of the movies multiple times except Saw X which I still need to see.

Should definitely not watch Jigsaw... please never promote that film and forget it exists...

I was right in the middle of my new player DBD hype, full Pig fan boy grin on my face. Watched the first 6 Saw films, enjoyed them all, skipped Saw 3D cause that also doesn't exist, and decided to check this film out.

I have never been in the middle of a franchise high during a film as hard as I was watching Jigsaw... honestly you could have almost done anything and I'd have lapped it up... but man...

Every scene that went by kept knocking a chip off my enthusiasm, I was still fanboying hard, watching and enjoying but it kept taking knocks... stupid ######### that made no sense with the core concept of Saw blatantly absent. I kept shrugging it off and letting myself go with the film, but the repeated logical and narrative screw ups were eating at my forgiveness...

Then we got to the silo scene... and the rake... and to quote Popeye "that's all I can stands, and I can't stands no more...". My rose-tinted fanboy glasses didn't just crack, they snapped clean in two, and I went from happy wide-eyed fan, to full angry nerd rant mode in a single instant. I couldn't even finish the film I was that angry... my mate did watch it to completion to see if I was overreacting or missing something, and in so doing he became just as irate as me.

This anecdote is obviously not evidence the film is bad... but honestly outside of my personal opinion, there is so much objectively wrong/contradictory to the point of Saw in it, it's a miracle someone managed to screw it up so badly.... and I doubt anyone wants a 10 page essay explaining why...

But please... never recommend that film again... it brings nothing but pain to Saw fans... 😥

Exactly my thoughts and I have heard the same things about it. Generally the John Kramer moments and movies are always the best since he is such a good and interesting character.

  • If you hit a survivor your charges are instantly refilled which makes it super easy to slug and it can be extremly powerful when used by an experienced blight. Even if you don't slug you can end chases in less then 30 seconds if your good enough. Makes an already extremely powerful killer even more powerful.

  • I love how altrusitic my SoloQ teamates have been recently how they always try to save everyone, take protection hits particularly since I've been going up against a lot of tunneling killers recently.

  • @Ryuhi said:

I think controller is fine as survivor (I actually prefer it) but with killer M&K makes a massive difference.

I don't mind on survivor as much except I cannot loop for my life. I feel like spinning is a lot easier on keyboard but it takes skill either way. For killer it depends Blight who I have just started playing for fun today is from what I've heard easier on M&K. He can be extremely difficult on controller. Controller players are overall at a disadvantage as the 2nd best killer is designed more for M&K.

  • @OrangeBear said:

I highly doubt it. I think this is just promotion for Saw X.

I also think John Kramer would never be a killer in DBD anyways because his character just doesn't fit.

The only saw content i see coming is a Mark Hoffman legendary outfit for The Pig.

Yeah most of the disiples in Saw who were popular are literally Hoffman and Amanda and in DBD they would be practically the same. Reverse bear traps are the only traps that could really work in dbd off the top of my head. I would be happy to see legendary skins like they do for silent hill.

Hey that's interesting, I've over 5K hours and never saw her break a leg. :O

    I lost her as well.

I very rarely play her anymore.

I wanted to get back into her with the new cool skin and all...

But then I realized that she isn't fun to play anymore. Why go back.

The feedback section on the Ptb was full of people not happy with the changes. They got pushed live regardless.

    That was overwhelmingly negative feedback.

My theory is that they wanted to get more people to buy her since most people who didn't main her considered her a C-tier killer. In my opinion she was fine the way she was but given the fact she got her first new skin since release I think more people started playing her but I'm not sure. But it is really annoying that they practically ignored all of her current mains opinions.

  • Don't forget that they need to keep the survivors happy so they keep buying Feng skins. If 4 people are being affected by something and those four people spend more money together than 1 person chances are they get priority. The devs need skin purchases.

  • Yeah this is true as someone who was a Sadoko main and still plays her frequently I did check the feedback section and this is true. I don't main her so it doesn't affect me as much as others but still it is the same with other killers some people lose their favourite killer.

  • For survivor Yui and Feng simply because Feng was my first main so I have most of the perks maxed out on her and Yui I liked her lore and she's badass so yeah. For killer Pig because big Saw fan and Amanda was my favourite and I enjoy her power and addons. and just a mix of every other killer I own except Freddy.

Backfilling could have caused these things to happen, and that's usually due to lobby shopping. Without seeing the gameplay that's the best cause I can give.

Yes this is always what I say about the MMR system and the high volume of players who came back for the event while it has died down this was a big problem at the start of the event.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

Ahhhh, ok it's not lit at the beginning. Like NOED?

    Midwich.

I just like to ambush with pig.

    This map gives me power.

I know pigs default cosmetics blend in on most parts of the map and all the corners definatly my second as killer though not survivor. Though my favourite is the game for the fact that I am a Saw fan I enjoy it on both sides.

  • @LLampyy said:

I have 646 hours in dead by daylight and my friend I played with has 494 hours in dbd. I understand that we have a lack of killers in queue for the game at some times of the day but I was in awe when me and my friend loaded into a match against a player with over 5,000 hours in the game. Is this a common occurrence? How does dbd matchmaking work? And is there something I can do to combat this on both killer and survivor side?

Lobby shopping is a big reason for this. The MMR system is horrendous and if the first killer who usually is around the same MMR level leaves then the game just tries to fill that spot as soon as possible.

  • I know I quite liked them its always nice when the devs interact with the community. Maybe they might just be focused on the event and might come back after the event depending on when the new chapter is releasing.

  • I feel for you and I try not do this if I can avoid it. Sadly the game is not meant for casual players the game has shifted more to the competitive side in my opinion. They also absolutly gutted DS in my opinion with killers like Deathslinger able to bypass it with ease. These are just my opinions. If they buff DS back to it's old 5 second stun then I think everything will be better not ideal but I think survivors have a better chance.

I must have taken the same break as you (I stopped around early December and came back in Spring I believe). I mean I still love Mikaela cause I love witches, but yeah. her perks are kinda underwhelming atm. I'm not sure I miss CoH though, I thought it was kind of a boring style ngl, but perhaps it made solo a tiny bit more bearable? I am not so sure. When i used it the most I was even more inexperienced, so I don't have a correct frame of reference. I do like the idea of boons though, I just wish it was easier to hide them and they weren't such a time waster on solo.

I still like her since she has nice outfits but I've gone back to Yui for a while but yeah shadow step is decent but COH was an amazing perk but it was a bit of a crutch perk to be honest. I did come back briefly when I heard the first original three character chapter came out and after 10 matches I stopped and I'm sure you can guess why. I did come back properly in May though.

  • @JustAnotherNewbie said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3568574#Comment_3568574

Unfortunately Boons are one of those perks, that is a waste of time for solo, and pretty viable in a SWF. Which is really sad. I remember buying Mikaela for CoH, but I still love her. And that boon actually incentivized me to learn some totem spawns on maps, so I would not waste too much time looking for them. At least that knowledge is good for bringing Inner Healing which is a decent counter for Sloppy Butcher.

Same I bought her and I swear COH got nerfed I don't know when I stopped playing in November 2022 and came back properly in May 23 and I wasn't sure if my game was broken and then I realized it was nerfed.

  • @lav3 said:

The game never had any reasons to hook as many than kill someone quick.

Feels bad for your frustrating experience in this game but DbD is no longer "casual" friendly.

DbD is 7 years old, many people realized how to play efficiently.

Considering MMR system, many balance (map, items, killers etc) changes, I think the game is leaning towards competitive side more than casual.

Players care results, don't have to care how counterparts feel and playing fair for counterparts isn't smart thing to do.

Sadly I think you are right. DBD is not as you said casual friendly. Another thing is I think some killers assume every survivor is running MFT and decide to be toxic this is just my opinion based off the posts here from the killers. Obviously they have been around much longer than MFT and some people just do it anyways. I think we do need old DS back because killers like Deathslinger can easily bypass it.

  • Personally Nurse and Blights terror radiuses send chills and fear down my spine simply because I know unless my teamates are gods at the game I'm done for. Or with nurse with the event at the moment hide in the void when you hear her terror radius.

Creepy music though I have to say Dredge.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

And then we can put her back to F tier.

She is only strong because of her lethality to just kill you. Her chase is still pretty bad.

This is true Pyramid head has an M2 attack so he is good in chase Sadoko doesn't give her an M2 attack or at least improve her in chase then I think they can nerf her.

  • I'm loving it besides the server problems and frequent disconnects this is a big improvement. The void is smaller than I thought but I like chasing there. Cosmetics are nice as well.

  • @MrRetsej said:

I ran into this same problem today. I was running a Turbo Hag build (waterlogged shoe, blight serum, PWYF, etc). I get into my first chase with a Yui, get this first hit then use the blight serum to catch up. The Yui just stops running, points at me, and at that point I get the down and hook. I moved on to the other survivors and the match goes fairly normal with two more hooks until I encounter the Yui working on a gen. She stops what she's doing, points at me again, and then runs off.

I opted to kick the gen instead of immediately chasing her since I was so fast, and then I get locked in the gen kick animation but it doesn't regress. I try to kick it again, and the animation plays, but no sparks, no "crash" sound. At this point I'm thinking this is weird but maybe a server issue, then I turn to leave for the chase, I see the Yui standing there pointing at me and the game DCs. Everyone is kicked, but I'm the only one with zero points and received my first disconnect penalty ever, in a year of regular playing.

Maybe it was all just coincidence, but that Yui was sus AF and the circumstances screamed cheater to me.

This may have actually been a cheater given the circumstances I would say this isn't just you saying its a cheater you have evidence. As for the question I have good internet and a LAN cable connected to my PS5. Ping clearly doesn't matter the servers must not be used to this much players in a while. I had the afternoon off and played a few matches before having to go off and it was fine got home and when I got home that evening it was horrendous everytime as survivor the exit gates got powered opened or anything and as killer getting hooks and on both sides entering the void sometimes.

  • Hex plaything, pentimento and devour hope all hexes and I don't main Pinhead but this build is gold when I use it on him give them side objectives that aren't gens or the box. Yes they can ignore plaything but then they don't hear you coming and they are at risk of gen grabs. Pentimentos 1st two hex debuffs slow things incredibly if they do cleanse plaything or devour. Devour if they don't cleanse they suffer from the exposed effect and if they continue to ignore it moried no mattter the hook stage. Basically there will come a point where if they ignore totems in order to not get pentimento which some survivors can be and once they get exposed they will either have to risk chain hunt and cleanse totems before the box or risk the box and chances are you get a down and possibly but very rarely a mori. This might not work agaisnt a good/decent SWF. As for the last perk I don't know.

  • @luvcraft said:

From the description I thought the void was gonna be like the Upside Down, where everything was the same but spooky, and I could move around there and use some kind of cues to figure out where people are? But, uh... nope.

I want to enjoy the event but feel like I can’t even enjoy it on survivor side.

I know I have played 3-4 matches yesterday and today on both sides and I had two normal matches where I got to check out the event the rest I was camped, tunnelled and bodyblocked and tourtered on hook by survivors.

  • Maybe the event brought some players back for the first few days to try it out and the servers can't handle it. Just my theory but I'm no expert. I've only played a few matches as I have a busy two weeks hasn't happened to me and I've seen it happening to people in matches.
