    Indeed, it is!

I think it was taken all the way back in 2016, when Nurse was first released. But, as we all know, the map was beautiful for a long time.

How did they make the graphics worse? Not the most problematic map but it is quite big and favours survivors heavily.

  • Poor pig! I too have suffered this abuse. It really got on my nerves the first time and it's back again!

Right now, only one set of banner & profile picture is available, by purchasing any of the Chucky cosmetics (just owning the DLC is not enough).

The Advent Calendar shown below has one profile picture and one banner in it, which can be claimed by logging in any time from Dec 8 and Dec 22 respectively, until Jan 3.

The upcoming Bone Chill event, which starts on Dec 14, will also feature banners and pfps as rewards for completing challenges.

Thank you very much. This explains why I only see Chucky banners.

So what is your solution for these teams? Obviously we can't balance game around them.

It's a difficult situation because as you said you can't balance the game around them. There are two different types of SWF. The type that is just players you know are competent at the game but no coms. And obviously the type with coms which are the ones people are complaining about. The devs can't really nerf SWF. They usually just give Solo Q survivors tools like the HUD which doesn't help the killer. The comms are also external programs like Ps Xbox discord etc so the game can't tell. It is a difficult situation.

  • This is the consequence of a perk like UW needing a perk to counter it. This along with the MFT nerf has caused a big shift in the meta. In my matches over the past few weeks I have noticed less survivors trying to chase and stealth instead. When UW probably gets nerfed around June then I'm sure calm spirit will disapear.

  • There are very few SWF that most competent killers can't deal with. What you could is if you see them change last minute change to lightborn. I doubt many players need to though.

  • I pray for you all for her up coming unspecified tweaks. Personally I have been playing huntress more recently and I think she was fine the way she was. She takes a lot of skill to be incredibly good with her like hitting cross map hatchets.

  • I think she is fine the way she is. Its not like she is an easy win killer. Crossmap hatchets take a lot of skill and practice. I do have a feeling they are going to change her movement speed since they did it to Trickster which I don't want. Hopefully they listen to us. Not to be selfish but I'm praying for a good pig buff.

    1. Clown annoys me so much his laugh and his bottles. He also has very boring gameplay. Thankfully I don't see him that often due to how boring he is.
    2. Trickster really annoys me particularly with his new buffs he is a monster. He has always annoyed me but now he takes zero skill.
    3. Doctor just the constant screaming and once again his laugh. Doesn't annoy me as much as other two though.
  • @Xernoton said:

    Chucky has a base movement speed of 4.4 m/s (110%). The speed modifier of Slice & Dice is 1.5, so Chucky moves at 4.4 m/s x 1.5 = 6.6 m/s (110% x 1.5 = 165%).

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3603069#Comment_3603069

Incorrect. Chucky isn't a normal movement speed killer. He is 110%.

Really! Thank you for correcting me I haven't gone up against him much. I thought that was only for ranged killers.

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

He catches you if you do Lithe if that helps with the answer.

At least 150% speed with Chucky being a 115% default speed killer

Here's an example in a game i JUST played.

So i intentionally was playing nice. Trying to go for chases and go for multiple hooks on everyone. I hook a guy near a gen at like 80%, there were 3 gens left for them to do. I leave the hook, start chasing someone else. The guy gets unhooked right. So i turn to look over, and he IMMEDIATELY hops on that gen at 80%. Meaning i now KNOW he doesn't have OTR, he doesn't have DS, he doesn't have BT, he has nothing. He is still injured, and he isn't healing.

In this situation, i chose not to go for him, because i was intentionally playing nice. I ended up still getting a win that game anyway, and that isn't what is important. The point i'm making is. If i had gone after that guy, and punished him for his mistake there. I would have been called out, called a "tunneler trash killer" etc. So my point is. Why is it ok for survivors to do what the guy did, but the killer punishing that guy is suddenly some kind of grand injustice? I'm merely pointing out the double standard here and wondering why most people aren't seeing it.

Who do you main? I'm going of you profile picture here and going with Nurse. As the best killer in the game survivors will do this to at least stand a chance.

I can't talk for someone else but Pop and PR are in 90% of my games. Corrupt is also so high. And some information perks for last slot usually.

Now when i go against this sweaty builds most times, i can't play chill. Especially when most of games killers are tunnelling someone out for even more pressure.

And yes, getting end game as fast as you can is best scenario where someone survives. So if this will give chance to my teammates escape, i will do that.

This is happening to me too with either UW or Lethal.

Another reason is that some survivors just want to give killers a taste of their own medicine which unfortunatly ends up hitting killers who play like yourself.

Ultimately it is a game with humans who all take the game at different levels and use different stratagies. Some people tell others to do terrible things to themselves others say GG. Some people Tunnel, Camp, tbag. Theres loads of stuff and no side is innocent. Different things annoy all of us.

Good list. Even though 6 is my least favorite I do agree that the ladder scene was intense.

    Interesting opinion.

    @OnryosTapeRentals said:

I'd rank them like this (in order from best to worst):

    1. Scream (1996): The one that started it all. I kind of have to put it first really.
    2. Scream 2: I LOVE the final showdown in the theatre. A really strong sequel overall.
    3. Scream 4: Great Ghostface reveals. Had me gagged the first time I watched it.
    4. Scream 6: Having a different setting was very refreshing, the Ghostface reveals were effective, and I thought they juggled the rather extensive character roster well. Bonus points for the ladder scene -- easily one of the most memorable scenes in the franchise for me.
    5. Scream 3: It leaned a little too much into comedy for my liking, but it was still a good entry overall. Sidney getting chased through the Woodsboro set is another scene I love.
    6. Scream (2022): A decent reboot, although I actually hated it when it first came out. It wasn't until the ~third rewatch that it started to grow on me and now I enjoy it. The biggest let down for me was the Ghostfaces. They had the worst motives in the whole franchise, and it was very obvious who they were about halfway into the film. It wasn't bad, but definitely could've been better.

Scream (2022) also gets points deducted for following the annoying trend of naming movie reboots the same thing as the original. It's not really a big deal, just a personal pet peeve of mine.

I agree with this none of them were bad but with scream 2022 I knew who the ghostfaces were from the start.

I'd like to see Trickster finally get a map. One set in a neon lit night life area of Seoul.

I'm also hoping we'll see a Gremlins Chapter one day and it would be cool to see Kingston Falls be added to the game.

A Trickster map would be so unique with all the vibrant colours.

  • Tapp is OG Saw which you have to appreciate. Awsome character. Decent perks. Detectives hunch was amazing during the old ruin era. On my new account I might main him after I get my perks back.

I really, really hope the reason they are taking so long to give us anything is because they are putting effort into it.

It’s been 6 months since we were told Freddy was on the radar and since then all we know is that he’s been pushed back, it’s still in the ideas phase, and that we won’t hear anything for at least another 6 months. And it may even be longer before we should expect anything.

I’m really happy about all the other killers they are updating though. They all needed some changes too. Just wish Freddy could get some of that love too :(

I'm trying to remain optimistic. I imagine they don't want to have to rework him a third time so I am hoping that is why and they can impress us.

At least you can still play Pig. As an OG Freddy main my boy is gone forever :(

And thankfully Pig is on the roadmap so hopefully she can finally get out of low tier soon.

That is the sad part of reworks as they can take away someones favourite killer and in Freddy's case not only did they do that they made him a total snoozefest. I assume they trying to completely rework Freddy's power just because it isn't on the roadmap for the next 6 months. At least the devs are trying. And Myers also is second on the rework list for me. Twins also were in dire need of a rework. Happy pig is getting is buff though.

I feel you. I have taken many breaks myself in the past.

    Hopefully it will improve.

As for DS, I don't think it's confirmed of what they're doing with the perk but they are doing something with it within the next 6 months as they mentioned it in the live stream, but whether they're buffing it or completely changing it I have no idea. I feel like it's more likely just a small buff to a 5 second stun (as thats been requested a lot) but who knows.

Yes I saw Ds was getting a change of some sorts but wasn't sure of the scale. Hope it's 5 second stun though.

  • @BooperDooper said:

It's just so hard to make any significant progress as survivor in most games, leaving me feeling defeated and with barely any points.

Survivors are dcing or unaliving on hook towards the beginning of the match. Killers are tunneling at 5 - 4 gens. Constant sweaty chucky games. Survivor is just feeling extremely stale right now, the only reason I've been playing is to get iri 1 survivor (I already got it with killer) but I'm giving up, imma just settle with iri 3 (I was stuck on iri 4 for sooo long).

Killer is just much more fun right now, chucky is very fun to play (not so much to vs) and I enjoy throwing hatchets as Huntress (My killer main)

I want to enjoy survivor but I just haven't since coming back after a 5 month break. Might have to be a killer main now 😱 Even though I'd like to play both.

For me since Chucky came out its been a bit better. But up until then they have been horrific. Tunnelling this early in the game is terrible for survivors. I had been maining killer for the last month to try preserve myself until Chucky came out. Thankfully it has gotten better and I hope it does for you too.

On a side note does anyone know if DS is getting a buff or a rework next year?

  • I have played against him 3 times and have escaped twice with relative ease. The other time my team were newbies since they could not hit skill checks at all. I don't even fully understand his power. The one I lost to was toxic just because I could loop.

  • It happens everytime a new killer comes out because no one understands the power yet and how to counter it. I have only played one match against him and he seems fine.

  • @xEa said:

How about instead of surrender button a fix to tunneling?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/398107/do-you-think-people-should-be-able-to-have-fun-at-others-expense

It's a balance. You weigh your enjoyment against the feelings of another person and see which comes out on top. If I'm not going to get much enjoyment from something and it will really upset someone else, then I probably wouldn't do it.

There are limitations to this kind of thinking though. I won't give people free wins if that is the only thing they care about. But for example, killers hate flashlights, so I don't bring them with me into the trial. I'm not giving up much in exchange for the killer not getting triggered. So it feels like a reasonable trade to me. It's the same reason I don't tunnel as killer. Winning isn't important enough for me to disregard a survivors feelings about being tunneled, so I don't do it.

This is my approach as well. If I do bring flashlights it is only for flashlight saves and no background player. As killer flashlighting at dropped pallets annoys me as it is completly pointless and seems to be done to annoy the killer. t-bagging annoys me to the point where all hell breaks loose. Anything that annoys me I don't inflict on others.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I honestly don't care at this point.

I am playing few games , if i have fun i continue. If i don't, i call it a day.

And non-tunneller killers are almost not exists. Like every game killer will tunnel me or someone else. And there is nothing survivors can use to stop this. So it's better to rush your objective as well.

I know it's boring but game turned to that.

I know not every killer tunnels and I have significantly reduced my hours on dbd. I know there are a lot more competitive people out there now. I just felt it was an interesting discussion.

  • @KateMain86 said:

Tunneling is bad for this game. No one likes being chased down right off the hook.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3409831#Comment_3409831

"Tunneling isn't frowned upon by the devs, its not an exploit and it doesn't break immersion."

Yea... it just makes people not want to play the game. If survivors do not have some kind of viable way to counter a tunneling killer then it remains a problem. If survivors had a way to not be seen by the killer for a few seconds after being unhooked then tunneling would probably not be an issue anymore.

In my opinion tunnelling can be very harmful to newbie survivors. Imagine you started playing the game and got tunnelled from the start. Becoming a good looper takes hundreds, even thousnads of hours for some people. How are you supposed to get better at the game if you can't do that. I don't do it as I feel guilty doing it but in some situations it's the only way for some killers to secure a win. At least you are having fun but just think about who you are doing it to and if people are 'toxic' to you then they are having fun.

  • Only thing I like about these situations is since MFT got nerfed now the meta for survivors could is going to change. Hopefully the next survivor doesn't have a broken perk for five years maybe.

  • I have reduced my hours on the game significantly in the last month to preserve myself for Chucky to spice things up for a while.

I started a new account on xbox and it has been a bit better since I'm climbing up the MMR but once I reach my skill levlel or to the soft cap, it will all start to feel the same after a while.

I take long breaks but usually come back for at least 2-3 weeks when new characters come out unless it's a killer like release Knight and pre-rework SM. Events are nice as well like this years 7th anniversary event was amazing.

  • @HerInfernalMajesty said:

As my go-to rule if I see a Survivor has an event item I automatically always let them escape. I would hate for them to lose the item.

Other times when a Survivor makes a blatant mistake I will sometimes give them a small head-start or even just let them escape too.

When do you (if ever) allow Survivors to escape?

Newbies I feel really bad because they really are trying but sometimes they don't know how to escape I try carry them to the exit gates and they don't get it so I just try my best. and if they are trying to be friendly I will let them go. If I am pig I put bear traps on their heads and sometimes they understand what I'm trying to do and we have our own little live or die game. Those who pass get to escape those who's heads explode are dead. I'm not someone who cares about 4ks or winning all that much so.

TL walls are a standard tile, one of those tiles with the 2 windows opposing each other. They get their name from what you can see above.

Typically speaking you want to loop clockwise between the 2 windows so you get easy fast vaults. A killer who knows better will try and force you anti-clockwise to make it harder for you.

There are a few guides you an find on YouTube that explore them in depth, but yeah getting good at Window loops is what beats Bubba... I think... I'm not precise enough to say I know from experience, other than knowing Lery's on Bubba is a pain is A xD

TL walls and shack. but keep an eye out as other people have said some Bubbas run bamboozle which is very effective. Also don't drop pallets while he is in his chainsaw sweep either drop them while he is charging it or when he is done.

  • This is 100% true. I recently bought an xbox and started a new account. I am maining huntress as out of the free ones she is my favourite however, I can never use her to her full potential because I am on controller. I also really struggle with flashlight saves. It's a real shame the devs seem to be to lazy to bring K&M to console.

  • Tunnelling is a pain. I don't do it unless I feel it is my only option which does not happen very often. However, tunnelling can be efficient if as many people have said you tunnel the weak link of the team. This slows down the game more then most think. Some tunnellers play normally after that some keep going for the weaker ones until you are left with one or two people. I hate tunnellers as it ruins the fun for me when I play as survivor therefore I don't do it as a killer but I do see the logic behind it. I do think once you get into higher MMR and everyones better you will have a harder time.

Well, seeing the ping before the match would only encourage lobby dodging.

I dont think players should be rewarded for bad internet. But they also shouldn't be punished for it.

I don't like lobby dodging but I also don't like being screwed over because someone has bad ping and can hit me from across the map. It makes sprint burst and other exaustion perks useless. It is annoying but I do understand it is hard not to punish them but not to reward them either.

  • @Ayodam said:

1.) Your hit box drags behind you when you’re running.

2.) Killer’s ping is prioritized with hits. So if they appear to hit you on their screen (even if the hit didn’t land on your screen; I.e. they have bad ping) you’ll be damaged. No, it does not work for survivor (low ping doesn’t help you avoid hits). However, grabs are supposedly favored by survivor ping.

Yeah Your second point is very true but annoying how killers essentially get rewarded for bad ping and survivors aren't allowed to see a killers ping before the match so they can see if they are screwed or not.

  • Perks are supposed to be extremely effective on certain killers it's only if a perk is way to powerful across the all of them it needs a nerf I know this is not what you are saying but similar enough. It the same with UW insanlely powerful on Blight or Nurse but is generally not overpowered.

  • @binglesthecat said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3589636#Comment_3589636

They should, but they won't. Does nobody remember the build that had it enabled by accident because of Unreal Engine has it enabled by default, and they quietly patched it out?

Yeah it's so stupid other games can do it and they already have it on pc. I'm no expert but I imagine it would not be that hard and it would be worth it I know I would still like cross progression but I would not be ranting so often.

  • I'm kind of on the fence with it I agree it can be mediocre. I do kind of like the feeling of when I realize a blight or nurse has it Oh no I'm screwed. I don't think it needs a nerf. Only issue I do have with it counter is just run calm spirit.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

We can't blame solely the devs for Cross Progression not coming yet, if ever. Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo all have to separately agree to a deal to make it happen.

What we can hit the devs for is the reason so many players wish to abandon their consoles to run their game on a PC capable of handling DBD well. Long standing issues like frame rates, M&K support, controller settings, etc.

If they added K&M this would satisfy me enough to be happy as I've always voiced my opinion about it and how other games have it as PS and Xbox gamer this really annoys me given how in order to be able to loop properly by spinning and playing killers like blight well are designed for K&M.

  • It can be decent in chase for mingaming killers as since it is a very uncommon perk most killers don't realize you their aura too. I use it when I want an extra challenge. I think it could use a bit of a buff though.

  • I'm tied between Clown and Trickster. Clown I hate because of his bottles are so boring and his laugh really annoys me. Trickster I already hated before his buff but I didn't see him very often but his buff makes zero sense. It was supposed to make him more fun to play against but he is now just nearly impossible to deal with. They have given a ranged killer the benfits of a regular killer and he has no recoil which means he requires practically zero skill.

    @Phantom_ said:

Alien/Xeno. I just cannot dodge its attacks for some reason? Give me Huntress, Caleb, or Nemi and I can dodge 99% of their hits, which are so much the same as Xeno's, but for some reason Xeno itself I just can't.

Trickster with his billion ricocheting knives. What's the point of trying to dodge the first thousand knives when he has so many anyways. I'll take Nurse and Blight over them any day.

I agree with the bit on trickster. At least Blight and Nurse require a lot of time to master.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

I would say it depends on your playstyle. I know everyone in the thread is all Meg, Meg, Meg but I honestly don't care for any of her perks except maybe Adrenaline. Personally, I'd go for Feng. I find lithe much easier to use over sprint burst and I really like alert. It gives a shocking amount of information over the course of a trial. Technician is admittedly awful.

I feel the same I only like Meg for Adreniline. Feng was my first main. Lithe is a lot easier to save. Though Dwight is also nice for bond as well which is an essential part of my build.

  • @Crowman said:

Switching engines, upgrading the current engine, or any sort of major overhaul is not something that can easily just be cranked out by skipping a few chapters. Not to mention, the thing keeping the game alive is the frequent chapters.

As an aside, not every dev is working on the same thing. BHVR is working on multiple chapters concurrently to make 4 chapters a year considering they state it takes a full year to develop a chapter. They have a team cranking out bugs as every patch comes with a plethora of bug fixes. There's no reason to believe the devs aren't trying to improve their core structure at the same time of pushing out chapters. Any improvements made to the backend is never going to be noticeable to the players.

This is true. I don't know how long of a process it is but for original characters they have to come up with designs and powers I imagine can be very complex. Chucky must've been one of if not the hardest they have ever done with all the new mechanics.

  • I find it can be devestating on certain killer like a good blight or nurse. I also find huntresses and tricksters using it. It definitly is very strong as it has a very short cooldown. I don't think it needs a nerf though. Since it isn't anaura reading perk it's harder to get cross map hatchets with huntress. Only issue is the only actual counter is calm spirit which I hate running as it is never of much use to me.

  • I'm not going to into detail about this as this person clearly has never played killer. Killer is just as stressful as survivor maybe even more. Yes you have more control on how the game goes do you camp, tunnell? But you need to know how to mindgame, time manage when to give up chase. Even killers like Blight and Nurse require practice as they don't come naturally to most people.

  • I quite like him compared to going against every other killer. In my opinion he is the most balenced killer in the game. Nice mains. Only thing I don't like is as many people have said most run the same builds which can get boring. That is not even something I really dislike it just takes away the fun for trying to identify perks and then seeing in the endgame if I'm right.

  • In my opinion people are either mistaken that it is efficient or do it to annoy the killer. I only use flashlights for saves or if I'm trying to get the killers attention.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
