We really made a break through. I cant remember the last time, a dev / community manager stepped in to confirm that the feedback was taken into consideration. We all did a great job there.
Big thanks especially to @UndeddJester and @Nun_So_Vile for their summary - post. You both deserve a big BOOP from our lady herself. 🐽
Agreed this is a major moment for the player base in general as like you said I can't remember either when they personally confirmed that they were sending it on to the team. This has proven that it is better to propose a solution to the problem then to just complain about it.
Great job @UndeddJester and @Nun_So_Vile!

My last comment that I did not screenshot was that we should end this discussion before I end up saying something I regret.
I don't know if he didn't realize that I am one of the Pig mains behind that post when he called US scummy (my nickname is not Absolugrndzer0, briefly changed it to get the screenshots) but it made be very angry as you can see by the reacts. Especially since the worst thing a Pig player could do is exploiting screams to guarantee at least 3 head pops. I will never do this even for testing purposes, but I'm confident I could consistently pull it off with Video Tape, Crate of Gears then Hex: Face the Darkness, Sloppy Butcher, Franklin's Demise, and Lethal Pursuer. Soon as the game starts, beeline for the nearest survivor, injure them, the go camp the totem. Nobody is going to be able to heal the survivor that is injured, even if they had a medkit, it's unlikely it will have a full heal left by the time they manage to pick it up, especially with Sloppy. So at best THAT survivor can get their trap off, do a generator... the others? Not happening. But this could easily be fixed by making screams not be as terrible as they currently are to those with traps.
Great job keeping calm I might of lost it at the last comment I am many things but I am not a scummy pig main and I know what I am talking about when it comes to her kit. They definitely are not a pig main.
On a seperate more positive note
@UndeddJester @Nun_So_Vile @AbsolutGrndZer0 @radiantHero23 We have taken a major step now that we have gotten Mandy's attention and she has passed it on to the devs. Lets hope she keeps us updated and the devs approve it.

If we're happy, maybe wait for @radiantHero23 to sign off, then we just post I suppose...
I was tempted to comission C3 Tooth to draw a frustrated/sad Amanda gesturing to a broken RBT on a table while looking up at the Entity with the caption:
Entity : "I have tried to help you, Amanda."
Amanda : "Then help me! Fix me! Fix me m-----f-----! I'm standing right here!"
However they're based in Vietnam apparently and I can't find what comission service they're using in a timely manner ^^
Sounds good to me!

First draft (I'm a lowly 950 hr player, would feel more happy for someone with a little more clout than me to post) 😁🤘
Your local society of Pig main's proposal
Her Chase
First of all BHVR we want to thankyou for turning attention to our Killer, and want to go on record as saying we do believe your intent for the Pig is coming from the correct place. Improving her chase is very welcome, and we certainly approve of these changes to her crouch speed, crouch movement speed, and ambush distance. These changes improve her performance at loops, and expands the number of tiles she can catch survivors on, however largely she is plagued by the same issues as before where using any semi-decent pallet and holding W away as she attempts to ambush will still beat her. We would appreciate more buffs in this department, but we'd be more than happy to accept her buffs as is, as she definitely feels nicer to play, and ultimately her chase can't be too strong, because of the slowdown brought on by her RBTs.
Why RBTs need toning down
We acknowledge with buffs to her chase will require a trade off, as the strength of her RBTs should absolutely correlate to the strength of her chase. Over the course of a number of updates there has been a rise in the number of strong scream perks, which has facilitated a less engaging and unfun playstyle for the Pig. Chasing off Pig boxes and forcing pops was always possible, however the time efficiency of doing so was quite bad due to the need to force a survivor to let go, and the timer being halted while in chase. With the addition of perks like Hex: Face the Darkness and Ultimate Weapon, interrupting boxes has become both easier and more viable to force head pops, with little counter play for survivors outside of Calm Spirit. We do understand that something needs to be done about this playstyle.
Why the current nerfs aren't the solution
The current nerfs are: -
- The Pig can no longer see the auras of Jigsaw Boxes
- Reverse Bear Traps now have a base timer of 3 minutes (was 2.5 minutes)
These nerfs do not solve the problems players are having with Pig.
The extra 30s makes forcing a head pop kill longer and more tedious and less profitable, but ultimately it doesn't prevent a Pig from doing it. It is just as much throwing the game as before; it just means the obnoxious Jigsaw box playstyles require a more direct commitment to do. There have been massive discussions about how this hurts regular Pig play, which have typically gotten quite heated so we won't be dredging that up again, but these nerfs affect every Pig regardless of play style, even if the overall time denied survivors from searching boxes is the same. Survivors have counterplay if they work as a team and delay gen pops in line with when survivors get trapped; just allowing 15 seconds for the survivor to get a head start on boxes is enough to prevent a head pop. This +30s change undeniably hurts the overall pressure provided by her Jigsaw boxes, and working around and accounting for that pressure was always what drew people to the Pig, similar to how setting up as Trapper and have it pay off down the road was immensely satisfying, even if the Killer isn't especially strong.
The denial of aura's is more an annoyance more than anything, it means that the highest level of Pig play will result in a need to memorise Pig box spawns, which is just an unnecessary irritation and makes Pig less accessible to newer players. It also doesn't address the problematic play style at all, as the Pig's who want to force head pops will run Hex: Face the Darkness, Ultimate weapon, and maybe even aura perks to simply chase down survivors they want to pop anyway. Again this is hurting the regular Pig play style more than the problem Pig play style.
Our Proposed Solution
Instead of the nerfs proposed, we aim to target the issues Survivors are facing directly: -
- An active Bear Trap can no longer trigger while the survivor is still searching Jigsaw Boxes.
- And either: -
- Screams do not interrupt survivors working on Jigsaw boxes. <- (Direct scream nerf for all scenarios)
- Letting go of a Jigsaw box will regress progress at a rate of 1 c/s <- (Better future proofing for other types of interrupt, but screams still can cause a pop if on the last box and the timer is spent... maybe rare enough to not matter?)
These changes maintain the threat of a head trap and keeps the macro game of the Pig intact, where interrupting a survivor at select moments ensures sub-optimal choices from the survivors overall and buys pressure and time.
In the same breath these changes eliminate the 2 most hated parts of the Pig's traps.
- That hopeless situation where it's impossible to get a head trap off even if you find the final box.
- Being constantly reset on progress by a Pig forcing you to scream.
We want people to enjoy playing against the Pig, and our hope is that these changes keep the tenseness of the head trap, while also eliminating the nastier play styles. A Pig trying to head pop you, can't just use a scream to interrupt your progress. The Pig now has to actively push you off a box, which will activate the chase timer pause. We envision moments where people who don't know about the head trap being unable to pop while searching will be holding their breath hoping they can get their trap off in time, while those players who are aware will be holding their breath, hoping the Pig doesn't find them in that moment (similar to how being the last survivor committing to open the gate is a rush hoping the Kilelr doesn't happen to find you at that moment).
With this, we feel the Pig will be nicer to play, maintain her fear factor for survivors without being obnoxious, and be more engaging and fun for everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to read!

<I don't wanna speak for you! Let me know and I'll add your name!>
Don't think I could have put it better myself. We just need to try keep it at the top of the Feedback section which is manageable. Ultimately we play Amanda and know her kit better then others who don't play her often so we are well equipped to make our point. We just need to make sure we stick to the final draft.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
Personally I like the radiantHero's idea, simply because for anyone not in the know, which will be most of SoloQ, I can see it being really tense just making it to final box and not being sure if they'll make the timer. Anyone whonis in the know will be praying the Pig doesn't turn up... similar to how my chest pounds as last survivor opening the gate... which sounds cool.
The scream not interrupting nerf is a necessary evil to halt the main complaint, even though I don't like some screams interrupting actions and some not... Cage's perk always makes me naturally let go cause I forget I can keep hold.
Tbh, I'd rather take both my and radiants nerfs than the 30s timer.... At least we would retain our pressure gameplay while also hitting the more brain dead strategies. If we REALLY have to go to war to prevent the 30s nerf, I'd push for a regressing progression box and impossible to pop head trap while searching. If box auras come back as well, I would be signing on the line for them to take this pair of nerfs in their place.

I agree, having a consistent solution in our message would be beneficial. I think Radiant's would be the more pragmatic one to compromise with. Love all the solutions, but I can see that one being something easy to work with that could be quickly implemented and not need too much extra work to get it right. @UndeddJester Spot on!
Amanda has waited years for some good buffs to her kit overall and the devs must do this right...
So we are agreed. I guess unless anyone else joins this disscussion due to the limited time frame for feedback I think so far everyone disscusing the two ideas the majority of us have agreed on @radiantHero23 you're idea seems to be the way to go at the moment. As Nun_So_Vile said this buff needs to be done right it could be ages before there is another. So my fellow Pig council members how do we proceed?
-
@radiantHero23 @Nun_So_Vile @JPLongstreet @UndeddJester @AbsolutGrndZer0
Since we are disscussing solutions and alternitives to this nerf, we need to agree on one and all try promote it we also need to incorporate survivors into it.
So far Jester and Hero's ideas removing the screams sounds like the way to go as from my disscussion the screams is one of the big problem survivors have.
The only thing I would add on is if we do end up with the extra 30 seconds the last bit of this post would help a bit.
(ignore my bad highlighting)
This for me is kind of a worst case scenerio as it still isn't ideal but it is better then the PTB state.
I do think just nerfing scream builds for pig is enough. Lets keep brainstorming people!🐷

In a shocking turn of events the devs have 'buffed' the pig. To be specific her ambush. These are pretty average buffs in comparsion to the HUGE nerf to her RBTS. This is Pig's biggest strength as it by far the best passive slowdown in the game as the killer does not have to do anything after putting the trap on. Her ambush even with this buff while needed is not worth this nerf.
Most of us Pig mains are doing everything we can. PC Piggy mains are putting reports in the PTB section.
Here is one I found:
It talks about Pig and Onryo who is not as relavent and not our priority at the moment while I do agree she needs to go back to her PTB state.

I am a console player trying to draw attention to this issue as I cannot play the PTB but encourage those who can to think about this and comment to raise awareness in the PTB section.
Save our Piggy. This nerf could also cause a massive reduction in boops.

Pardon the urgency my fine fellow pigs, but I think we can all agree when I say the recent proposed changes to her RBTS is how you say...bullshit. Some might say even too heavy-handed in response to the problem it intends to solve.
Not to undercut the importance of the actual buffs she's receiving, but the changes to RBT go too far against her whole shtick and we can see right through it all no matter how they might try and confuse and muddle the issue. Any of you with access to the PTB that plan on playing, please report on your experiences with these changes and their impact overall for those us without PTB access. Thank you for your time.
Sorry for the late response. Sadly I am an xbox player and cannot participate in it but am preparing a general disscusion post to try raise awarness for the cause. I have been away until yesterday evening and when I checked and saw your post about the pig changes I was horrifed.
Pigs biggest strength is her RBTS. They are the best slowdown in the game as you are faced with a mori if you don't take it off and it activates if a generator is completed. This happens without Amanda having to go out of her way. Everything else in her kit can be done better by other killers. Her ambush is like a worse nurse blink or blight dash etc. Her stealth is litteraly a worse version of Ghostface's.
I encourage everyone who can play the PTB to make a detailed report in the PTB section as some of us are doing. Also please keep an eye out for my post I will post a link here when it is ready just so the whole forums community can see our issues with these changes.
May the odds be ever in our favour.

None of that is required for hatch so it's not really a reward for any of that. That's not really an answer to the question.
Hatch doesn't reward anything besides maybe being the last alive. How you got there doesn't matter.
You are right it isn't a reward but it still should not be taken out for the other reasons I stated in my opinion feel free to disagree.

Rewards the last player for what exactly? Not completing their objective? Letting their team die? Or putting on a hatch build to play solo mode? Or am I missing something
So you think that if someone had bad teamates and did their objectives and were altruistic they should be punished? You may belive in punishing people for no reason but I don't. DBD doesn't have an automatic 2x modifier if it is the last 1-2 players left like some other games.
-
Current hatch is fine as it rewards the last player as say if they have 2-3 gens left it is unlikely and will take them ages so it is just to give them a chance and the killer can close it.
-
Very cute looks even better then the real Skull Merchent. Devs legendary skin?

What type of games do you like? For a story game on PC I would recommend Poppy Playtime which just got a new installment. The lore is very interesting and always keeps you focused. The first chapter is very short but I am pretty sure on PC it is free on steam. The other two are longer about 2-3 hours for the second and third one depending on how long puzzles take you. Overall a short but very enjoyable experience.
Red dead redemption 2 is also amazing but quite pricy.

An honorable mention goes to Nancy players who glare at you for missing even one skill check. Even with tier two madness and Huntress Lullaby active they won't cut you any slack.
I must just have very nice Nancys but I agree with you on the Bunny Fengs.

I recommend you check the Texas Chainsaw Massacre's discussion section on Steam. Filled with DBD warriors spamming "Dead game" posts or giving negative feedback posts while not even having the game on their account. DBD has an extremely hostile gatekeeping sect, like a religious sect with DBD being their God
I think you are right. Some people do seem to worship the game. As @Nazzzak said DBD players back in August and September were saying DBD is dead and TCM is going to take its place. This really annoyed some players who seem to worship the game so now they are rubbing it in. A bit childish but also human nature I think. People have different opinions on what is toxic and I think it vaires from post to post.

What I do find interesting about this player base is a lot of players seem to want a completely different game experience and perhaps even a completely different game to the one dbd is.
They appear to hate it yet they keep playing and take their frustration out on other players.
I don’t see players complaining about getting ambushed and killed early MWO it’s just part of the game.
Maybe the darker horror genre attracts players with less social skills or with more emotional hang ups that they can’t stop bringing into the game with them?
Like all online experiences you get the sore losers and the bad winners, I don’t think the dbd community is any worse than any other game experience in that sense. Just the afore mentioned player entitlement and the lack of understanding as to what the game is about seems prevalent.
This seems to be pretty common in most games communities. I have noticed it in Seige and many others where people hate the game but keep playing it and take their frustration out on other players. I had my account on private on playstation so never had any bad experiences on dbd. I moved to xbox and I really did start seeing it after I made this post. I have significantly reduced my hours on the game as I have gotten back into Seige where the same hate exists towards casual players where it takes them longer to learn as they don't play as much.

Not so long ago I went against a ttv who ran boil over, breakdown, sabo, etc. When I had no hooks to hook anyone as they were all broken I had no choice but to slug.
They all DC'd and the streamer gave my username out to her 100+ viewers. bhvr won't budge on bringing anon mode to Xbox which we DESPERATELY need.
The community is vile, entitled, and dramatic
That is horrible bad sport streamers and content creators are the worst. They really do need to add anon mode to console to prevent this. I actually had my first encounter on xbox chat today and I think I have changed my mind. Our community can be just as bad as games like Seige just it doesn't have voice chat if it did this community would be responisble for multiple people's decline in mental health. Thankfully people on the forums are more respectful for the most part are respectful.

I think I can agree with that PvP games with much smaller amounts of players usually are very toxic. As @ChaosWam said if DBD had voice chat it would be even worse on par or worse than games like Seige. Particularly as it could be a 4 vs 1 the killer could have an absolutly horrible time.

The amount of racism, death threats, entitlement, attempting to make other people miserable for the sole purpose of inflicting misery and offline harrassment is absurd.
Have you heard of Siege. I am not that good at it but like it not sure why. The community does nothing but bring you down. I have met very few nice people on there. Most of the negetive messages I get range from Uninstall the game, I ate your dog to nobody loves you and you should off yourself. Saying it to a friend who knows you are joking is one thing but you never know what someone is going through. I think Dead By Daylight is awful but not the worst simply because the forums is very strict.

That said, I find the ones more dedicated to it, while sometimes very vocal and abrasive, often times are just very dedicated to a game they enjoy and want to see it at it's best potential. Even if we disagree on points, I've had some great discussions about balance and understanding what may or may not work.
That said, I'm on day 2 of being harassed and spammed with friend requests on Steam to try and insult me in DMs for saying survivors still aren't doing tapes in my Sadako matches, so there's that too.
Sounds about right but the DMs don't happen to me on DBD

Overwatch and other pvp games out there are way worse than DBD in regards to toxicity. It is not even close.
Overwatch 1 was like second or even tied with Siege for me as the most or one of the most toxic games ever. I have not played Overwatch 2 because I have heard it is an absolutely dreadful game so I'm not sure if it still is but this is what I mean there is worse. I think he is one of those one sided killers that allows the killer to have fun but at the survivors expense. I have considered getting Knight as I have heard he is fun to play as but this has put me off just because I do feel bad inflicting something on someone what I wouldn't like myself. As a Sadoko main I completly agree. She is at this stage a joke and may be on her way to being the next big meme. Her power was pretty much perfect from what I read in the PTB patch notes and footage I have seen. I was expecting some number changes but nothing like this. I don't think that would work, as Swiffers could easily communicate with each other and completely nullify the power.
But mimics have been on my mind for a while. You know the mannequins in the new Shelter Woods stage? Imagine having the entire map littered with replicas of the killer, and the killer's power is to jump between them, except every time they do, they are undetectable until they move.
Every single one of those statues could be them.
While SWFs can nullify anything in this game. I do like your idea as well that would also add to the paranoia

- Telekinesis (able to trow map objects on Survivors for example)
- Disquise (able to somewhat mimic Survivor as Killer)
- Killer that can jump over objects (even walls) or climb cellings (like spider)
- Map shifter (able to change objects and layout of maps to their will)
- Mindcontrol (able to borrow Survivors perks or control a Survivor for brief window)
- Killer with new dimensional (map) teleport (imagine like Freddy if you fall asleep but you are teleported to his Dream world and you have to escape)
There are just quick thoughts! I am sure there are plenty of unique ideas we never saw before.
Disguise is a mechanic I have been asking for a while. I remember thinking that from the Legion trailer that his power would be to disguise as a survivor. I would love the paranoia and distrust that would bring to the game.

To be honest, I don't think there was anything over-dramatic about the response.
People were respectful, they didn't insult the developers or did anything unreasonable, they were just caught off-guard by a sudden change that no one asked for. These things hurt particularly deep when they happen to your favorite killer, I'd know.
Thankfully the feedback was heard, acknowledged and there will be changes happening to her.
I am not happy with the changes simply because this is an unusual thing for them to do and in all honesty kind of defeated the whole purpose of the PTB which is to ensure that the content comes out to live in a way that the community is happy about. She is worse then she was originally from how I understand it. I want to try her but don't own her on my new account which I started after her previous rubbish rework. I will await the feedback of my fellow Sadoko mains. I just hope the devs make it right and once again another rework slot that could have gone to a killer in desperate need of it that could have been completly avoided if they had listened. Deja vu anyone. My condolences to anyone who played the PTB Sadoko and lost her again.

People can tunnel with any killer and I am honestly questioning if they actually listen to us when we tell them this did not go well they listen make it right and with qol changes and then take it away. The point of the PTB is so that the update comes to live version in a better form.

I’m beginning to wonder if the dev team even used the PTB feedback when making a decision about the two nerfs.
The liner about noticing some Killer players teleporting to the “wrong” tv to stack up more Condemned stacks on a Survivor gives the vibe of the devs watching a few content creator videos which utilized this strategy or saw a few Survivors get hooked while fully condemned, panicked and started working on the nerfs.
Assuming that the Live release changes had to be pushed early due to console certification and tweaking teleports to not Condemn if the power button is on cooldown would take more effort than changing a few numbers which was the majority of the PTB feedback, devs wouls have had to start working on the nerfs fairly early.
I know, a few people pulling things like this is not worth having a massive panic over in BHVR hq in Montreal. They ignore feedback defeating the entire point of the feedback section and the PTB itself. I swear the Sadoko situation will probably be the new meme. The devs seem to blow things way out of proportion. If a small percentage of players play Sadoko in that playstyle in their heads it seems that must mean everyone is doing it.

Because they're extremely bad at game design and balancing.
You said it and listening to their playerbase which you know is asking a lot becauseand most games don't do it.
This game is going downhill but at least they made Billy mains happy.

They should at least #Nerf pig, so that Sadako is above her XD.
Do not even joke about that (though i do find it funny given that they would do that) the devs might actually go through with another unjustified change about that if I still find Sadoko to be boring when I am able to play her. I need Pig as my main. Its a shame if the devs had not changed Sadoko in the first place she wouldn't be where she is now and her two rework slots could have gone to someone who needed them. I have no idea why the gave her the first rework nobody asked for and then on the second rework they had it pretty much bang on and then screwed it up for the live version. I actually think we should make a union for Sadoko she has been done dirty.

We fought for 8 months to get here. Now this is the outcome. My hopes are exeptionally low friend.
But im glad that your struggle is over.
I am in complete shock. I said no way they could mess Sadoko up again. They proved me wrong. I still prefer this power to the one we had pre PTB. At least Billys got what they wanted. Sadly Sadoko is probably near the bottom of the list again unless the devs do Freddy mains dirty.

I didn't play him yet as I am on console but from what I have heard not a chance cool character rubbish perks though. I don't use flashlights simply because they are heard to use on console in my opinion so Champion of light is of no use to me.

i dont think i have heard of it. how is the community?
They are very nice and friendly and don't send wish death upon your family or anything like that.

Mostly pig, Ghost face when I want to have a good fun stealth power. I will probably be back to maining Sadoko again once the update is out for consoles.

I'm perfectly happy with being medium MMR particularly as a controller player which limits how well I can perform. Also means I can play any killer or run some fun perk builds and still be dcent most of the time. I don't know why people are so eager to get to high MMR from what I have heard and seen it sounds like hell and you really need to amazing at the game on both sides.

It's on, then :)
And yes, Hillbilly's and Onryo's recent changes gave me a lot of hope for Freddy. The developers deciding to revert her rework while improving her old kit was a massive jump in the right direction, and doing the same thing to Freddy would be absolutely perfect.
He will rise again eventually, and it will be a glorious day. It is something I've been waiting for since July of 2019.
Judging by the first 6 month plan that they have given us, it seems 2024 may the year of highly requested reworks. Lets hope Freddy has a big enough playerbase to defend him like we Sadoko and Billy mains did for ours. Sadly people are back to slandering her for being a C tier or lower killer again I think. Besides since its coming up to the 5 year mark maybe it will be like Dead hard.
On topic I much prefer this legion to old legion. For me he is fun and good for beginner survivors.

Mention that burn out is very real in this game and it can be infuriating and if they are on PC warn the about endgame chat.
-
As others have said dried cherry blossom or good Spirits have enhanced senses or something because they always know where you are. Or cheating. She is a hard one to counter.

Amanda as she is my favourite. Jill for just being badass and she is just Jill. I also know she could handle literally anything.

I'm still convinced Xeno should have been a stealth killer, because that would be far better than a generic anti-loop attack that is, in fact, extremely unfun to go against.
Agreed!! It would fit the theme perfectly as they sneak up on their prey.

He has an amazing design and is very accurate. Good perks. His power is very annoying to go against and is almost copy and paste from Nemesis. Regardless he was one of my dream licenses and many people say he is fun to play as.

I’ve heard of Subnautica but haven’t tried it. I’m thinking about it!
Would highly recommend the first one. It can be very scary at times. The story is very good.

I play a varity of games at the moment on my own Subnautica below zero as I enjoyed the first one. With my friends Rainbow six seige despite being terrible at it I enjoy it but it can take its toll a bit like Dead by Daylight.
