  • I will admit he's extremely difficult, but he actually isn't too bad on console. With enough practice, he'll be pretty good. But, it's still sad how much the Devs don't consider the difficulty on playing certain Killers on console.

  • OMG, Survivors are so whiny and OP!! This game is miserable for Killer and I have to play Nurse every gameeeeeeeee

  • I relate to this post so much. The game is fun, but it isn't one of those games that I could play for multiple hours at once. I've been playing the game daily since I took around a three month break, and my sessions are usually around 1-2 hours. Then, I usually take a few hour break before I get on and play again. I had no problem playing for multiple hours in a SWF but since I've only been playing alone, it can get pretty draining pretty fast.

  • I honestly don't mind the sound too much. It's a bit too loud though.

Maybe because what he's saying is true, devs only make pro killer changes.

I guess the Ruin rework, Nurse nerf, Spirit nerf , Freddy add-ons nerf, Legion nerf, etc., were all things that happened in another world.

  • @24Life said:

Can't stand the shock therapy /strike ability combo. Just allows the doctor the ability to Disrupt and end chases quicker and move on to disrupting and starting new chases sooner.

Ability to stop you from vaulting or pallet dropping is too unbalanced.

Oh no, a Killer that I cant loop mindlessly!! Overperforming! NERF PLS!!!

  • Pretty much anything I want to eat. This could be a snack, or a whole Thanksgiving dinner. I usually have water or a nice Dr Pepper by my side

  • @Quol said:

Killer sounds were overperforming after they realised more than 80% of killers made use of them. Naturally they got nerfed.

Devs: We've noticed that nearly all Killer players use their ears to track Survivors. Many players find this unfun to go against, and requires little skill on the Killer's end

  • Survivors: Oh, I wonder who the Killer is?

Demo: THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP (roars while breaking pallets or gens)

  • @hanscardoso said:

@VLight so, if he needs this is because his power is weak.

On certain maps, yes. But, he doesn't need Windstorm on smaller maps. Similar to Trapper, they're both fine with add-ons, but just need buffs to their base power, to not make them have to heavily rely on them. Oni and Demo are good examples of Killers who aren't add-on dependent.

  • @DwightOP said:

    SELFCARE and NOED.

I'm gonna assume you want Self-Care gone because of boosted Meg mains that take 20 years healing against Legion with Thana in the corner of the map.

  • @hanscardoso said:

    wraith

Wraith is fine. The only thing is to make yellow or green Windstorm base, to not make him so add-on reliant.

  • Killer: NOED

It rewards bad gameplay for the Killer, and stops them from learning the Killer fully, because they rely on a one shot, whilst moving 4% quicker, once all the gens are done.

    Survivor: Sprint Burst

I'm a Wraith and Oni main, and if you play these Killers, you know how annoying Sprint Burst can be to play against. Sprint Burst negates the surprise attack from Wraith, and it denies Oni from his early hit on a Survivor.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

DS is fine just don’t tunnel, or leave them slugged.

It's not really tunneling when you go after someone else, hook them, and then find the Survivor that was saved within 1 minute. It's also not tunneling if the Survivor goes for the save with BT, and DS.

  • This is why I don't play Survivor much. I definitely would play Survivor a lot more than Killer, but with school, and stuff to do over the weekend, I can't afford to wait 10 minutes for each game, and another 5-15 minutes in game.

I’m guessing, tell me if I’m wrong Psycho, that he means because of time they waste for the killer...

Each perk can extend a chase for a few seconds or even longer if they help you reach a loop so they’re strong. I don’t think They should go away but I can see a stance for it.

For me I don’t use any at the moment, but Sprint burst is the one I’ve been using lately it helps if you get caught on a gen in a dead zone to get to a safer spot.

The point as a Survivor is to waste the Killer's time though. Why would that ever be a bad thing? There should be ways to help lengthen a chase as a Survivor. By that logic, Spirit Fury/Enduring, or Nemesis/PWYF, should be nerfed, since they shorten chases. All exhuastion perks were already nerfed, with the very old exhaustion nerf, and BL was nerfed, so why nerf them even more?

  • @Psycho_ said:

I use it because I sympathies being a killer main, that its the fairest and most interactive perk. I think all exhaustion perks should be removed, except headon. thats a badass perk.

All exhaustion perks should be removed? What a joke.

Except I wasn't. The game is factually killer sided and I was just trying to help and enlighten the killer mains to get better.

"Factually." Gosh, please, if you bring up the Dev stats, that will just disprove and make yourself look worse. You obviously don't know anything about Killer, and are a Survivor main that Killer mains always talk about.

  • @kimukipi said:

    Another tip

    1. Just learn nurse. Its easy peasy and I have seen nurses slug all 4 even before the game loads. I have done that too without perks and add-ons at rank 1. FYI, the recent "nerf" haven't changed her a bit LOL.

I will keep adding more points since there are plenty.

"Just learn Nurse." Okay. Since the Devs cant balance their own game, I'll one-trick the strongest Killer in the game, so that I don't need to worry about it! Playing the same Killer over and over again sounds like a lot of fun!!

  • Just the fact that you think BBQ and Thanatophobia are OP completely negates any sort of validation to your argument. "Needs to be looked at". 16% slow down is nothing, especially when Survivors can just easily heal to remove 4% slowdown. BBQ has several counters, and most Killers run it for the 100% BP's. Nurse's Calling is a way better tracking perk.

Plague and Legion have one shot on survivors the entire trial and different, useful forms of finding survivors. Hag only performs well because of survivor inexperience. Trapper is Hag but normal speed but slightly more set up time. GF does well when I play against him and as him. More accurate tier lists place GF at A tier.

One shots are strong, but that doesn't really make the Killers really good, which is why Myers isn't an A tier Killer. The reason is because they're still M1 Killers, and are easily countered with exhaustion perks like Dead Hard or Sprint Burst, or simply doing gens. Smart Survivors will also make sure they aren't out-postioned when one shot, so that it isn't a free down for the Killer.

As for GF, I still don't think he's stronger than Billy or Freddy. Maybe Hag, but not those two. Billy has an insta down, and incredible map pressure. Freddy has map pressure, and an anti loop ability, better than Clown's.

And then you don't explain why. Okay.

  • @DocFabron said:

Demo needs to be in D. Doctor in high B, low A (I love Doc so I'm biased 🤷). Oni needs to be in D as well.

Plague, Piggywiggy, and Ghostface need to be in A.

I mean, Doctor is pretty weak, which is why he's getting a rework in the first place. His shock therapy doesn't do much at loops, especially without add-ons. Demo is pretty strong, since he has the shred attack to end loops quicker, and has his portals which give him map pressure, and map awareness. Oni on the other hand isn't that bad, since he gets a lot of map pressure using his power, and getting that Demon Strike isn't too difficult.

Pig's biggest downside is unlike any other stealth Killer, she goes way too slow (I think 96%), which gives her a harder time to pressure the map, but I guess she makes up for it with her RBT. However, Survivors I go against seem to get the trap off instantly, and when I go against Pig, I get the trap off quickly too. Her power is too luck based it seems. She needs changing I think.

Ghost Face maybe is A tier, but I'm not too sure with him yet. As for Plague, she doesn't seem too strong, IMO. Most Plague's I go against still get looped, and still end up losing.

I feel like Myers is a little underrated. He’s currently one of my most played on Xbox. I probably average about 3 kills with him at Red/Purple ranks. With the right build he can apply a lot of pressure. A lot of times I’ll have killed at least 2 survivors before they can finish 3 gens.

That's great! I play on PS4, and Myers seems to have some success. But, the reality is that he's just an M1 Killer and can get looped like any other Killer. However, any Killer can do well, with the right person playing the Killer, and the right build. I've been having some fun playing him lately too.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Amazing. Every word of what you just said is wrong.

Why are people putting hag so much higher than trapper? Why are people not putting GF in A tier? Why are Legion and Plague one tier lower than they should be? What am I missing here?

What you're missing is that everyone has their own opinion, and that your opinion isn't objective. I'm not forcing my opinions on others, and you shouldn't either. I don't play all of these Killers, meaning I'm ignorant when it comes to certain Killers. When I play against Hag, they usually win, and she usually does very well, same when I play her too. Ghost Face does well too, but he doesn't do as well as the other Killers I mentioned, based on experience.

How exactly is Legion C tier? How is Plague B tier? Plague isn't that strong at all, neither is Legion. I actually want to know, if you don't mind explaining.

Hag is higher than Trapper because Hag is literally a stronger Trapper, subjectively. Being able to teleport around the map, creating pressure on all Survivors, is very powerful, especially with the small Terror Radius, to get closer to Survivors. Again, this is my opinion though. But, no, you'll probably just enforce the fact that I'm wrong, and you're right, because that's very mature, right?

And one more thing, how is every word I said wrong? Are you trying to say that this current tier list doesn't correspond with my own personal feelings? I actually don't understand that.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

I feel like it’s more like this one Console at Red Ranks Atm.

My tier list is based on how I feel going against those Killers. Myers is never that threatening, same with Oni. But, your tier list isn't that much different, since I have an F category, as you have none. I agree with yours

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Because of sound rn, spirit is arguably at the same level as freddy. Plague is at least B tier. Nurse and doc are D tier.

Since sounds are just bugged right now, I didn't consider that with this tier list. Every Killer is a bit weaker with messed up sounds, but, assuming sounds are good, Spirit is S tier. Plague just seems so easy to counter, where you wait to cleanse until only 2 or 1 generators are left, which is less time without her actual power. Whenever I play Plague, or go against Plague, she doesn't seem that strong. Rank 1 Killer and Survivor.

I agree more with your huntress placement. She's really quite solid, especially with the lenient hitboxes

I placed Huntress where I did because Huntress is a bit harder to play on console. When I go against Huntress, at Rank 1, they are usually easy to go against, and easy to dodge hatchets. Don't know if every Huntress I get is boosted, or if she's just harder on console.

  • Some Survivors just can't admit defeat. You kill someone who is a way higher rank than you, and then they make excuses or just call you trash. While playing Killer, you get a lot of toxic messages, which I personally enjoy, since it's hilarious to see how dumb people can be.

  • I really do want Oni fixed. If you play him against a great team, you'll have an extremely difficult time, and may not even win.

  • @ppo8820 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/951750#Comment_951750

Not really. If you get a tunneling killer they will catch you eventually and you derank because you couldn’t participate in the game. It happens a ton. That and you get crap teammates who do nothing the entire time you get chased. You get hooked and look around and see 2 survivor auras in crouching in the weeds, and the missing aura....they’re in a closet.

I'm not talking about Killers preventing you from pipping by facecamping you or tunneling you. I'm just saying, at base, as a Survivor, it's very easy to pip, which is why solos get a lot of boosted Survivors on their team, even when their rank is similar.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

Yeah, i can agree with that one. Red rank killers are way better than a lot of red rank survivors right now. That's the main reason for the latest oni and freddy nerfs in my opinion. Bad players complaining.

Oni seemed like a decently balanced Killer after he was released. He was strong, could handle every team, and didn't feel unfun to go against, like Spirit can. But, they nerfed Oni, made him an average Killer, and now once you get a great team on a bad map, you're screwed.

  • @Thomasthetrain said:

Well, to be fair its also easy to rank up with specific killers 🕵

Yeah, but the difference is, those are only a select few. With Survivor, it's easy to rank up no matter what.

I am sick of entitled killer mains always saying this sh*t it's not true. Survivors lose so often because there is nothing we can do to counter what killers do. Killers have been buffed to the point where survivor is near impossible to play right now. Unless you play swf which good killers can still demolish if they play right not to mention most bugs in this game favour killers over survivors. Killers just need to stop corrupting this game by complaining and just git gud and accept that wins are not just handed to them on a silver platter.

Saying Survivor is unplayable is just simply not true at all, judging that there are still many Survivors playing the game, winning, and as for me, who plays both sides, can win on both sides. You're really overreacting on how powerful Killers are, especially when there are still very strong maps for Survivor, like Blood Lodge, Ormond, Thompson House, and still weak Killers in the game like Legion, Clown, or Bubba.

Survivor is not unplayable. That's just wrong. I play both sides, and have fun with both. Rank 3 Survivor , Rank 1 Killer.

  • I personally think that gen speed being too fast isn't necessarily the problem, but the fact that Killers who are slow, or lack map pressure, suffer from not being able to pressure the team enough to stay off of gens. In higher ranks, Survivors tend to run Resilience, with Dead Hard and Iron Will, to stay injured, and not waste time. This is negated if you play a stealth Killer, however. But you shouldn't be forced to play stealth Killers either.

If the Devs increased gen speed, the game will only be more boring for Survivors. I think the changes they should do are fix generator spawns/huge maps (Rotten Fields, Mother's Dwelling, Haddonfield gen spawns, etc.), buff Killers like Clown or Bubba to give them much needed pressure, or to give Survivors another objective in the game, instead of just completing gens. Increasing gen speed, or creating more slow down perks, is not the answer. Having tremendous slow down is simply just so annoying to go against, which is why some Survivors dislike Ruin, since it may carry Killers, that have tunnel vision, to victory, even when they don't deserve it.

My theory: Gen speeds seem to fast because of Killers who lack pressure in their base kits, huge maps exist, or bad generator spawns.

I have been playing DBD for quite some time now, and I have always loved this game, until now.. I'm a main survivor (solo, red ranks) and I have to say it's a freaking nightmare..

First I have to wait 5-10 minutes to even get into a match, just to be camped, tunneled, slugged and moried, even before I get to earn enough points not to depip.. An average match takes about 3-5 minutes before all survivors are slugged or killed.. It's just not fun anymore. I am sad having to leave the game, because it's always been one of my favorites, but at this point it's just not worth it anymore. I can't see how this game is supposed to be balanced? In every single match, the killer gets 30-40 k points, while my co-players and I have to praise ourselves lucky just to keep our ranks?

I gave up escaping long time ago, usually I am just trying to keep my head above water, and earn the points needed to keep my rank or pip, but could We at least increase blood-points for doing gens, totems, healing ect. to at least make it worthwhile for survivors? Most of the time I find myself thinking "I might as well DC, because I haven't gotten to do sh**" when I am getting tunneled, slugged and moried for God knows which time.. I am not a fan of people dcing, but I can't say I don't understand why they do it.

Something needs to be done, we are not all SWF teams and though they might be OP, we struggle on the solo surv side -.-

Solo Survivor gets very annoying. The Devs definitely need to buff Solo Survivors, because exactly this happens to a lot of solos. I personally dont have these experiences, even at red ranks, every game, but maybe it has to do with the platform/region maybe? I play on PS4, NA servers.

  • My favorite Killer is The Wraith, and I personally think he's a very underrated Killer, who deserves a lot more love. His juggle potential is very strong, and pairing that with the right build and add-ons make him a beast; truly an efficient Killer, as stated in his description. I recommend these perks on Wraith:

HEX: Ruin: To slow down the game, and, being able to move at quick speed to protect the totem makes Ruin stronger.

Pop Goes the Weasel: Since Wraith is a quicker Killer than others, moving at about 126% speed while cloaked, Pop on Wraith makes him a great Killer to rush to a gen after getting a hook, and instantly regress it 25%. I love Pop, and using it on Wraith is amazing, especially when it's working together with Ruin.

Barbecue and Chili or Sloppy Butcher: To be honest, the information BBQ gives you, as a Wraith, isn't a MUST, but its synergy with Pop makes it a really useful perk. I mainly run it for Bloodpoints, since Wraith is a great Killer to farm Bloodpoints with. However, the alternate perk you can run is Sloppy Butcher. Sloppy gives you a fantastic slow down to healing, and works very well on Killers who can get first hits easily, since you'll be juggling a lot with Wraith.

A Nurse's Calling: Sloppy works very well with Nurse's, since the slow down on healing will increase the chances of catching a Survivor with Nurse's before they finish healing, and is super good with any stealth Killer. Since Wraith isn't great in 1v1's, being able to catch Survivors when they're weak is crucial in making him very strong.

In terms of add-ons, I usually run Bone Clapper, and a Windstorm add-on. Bone clapper is great to keep Survivors guessing on where you are, and Windstorm helps to create a bunch of map pressure, and possibly block a Survivor from getting to a loop/pallet. Coxcombed Clapper is the best choice, but I don't see that add-on much in my Bloodwebs, and running a pink add-on every game just seems pretty boring to play against.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

The reason to prestige is cosmetics, and that's all it should be.

I agree, but some of the cosmetics are insanely underwhelming; just looks like the base cosmetics dipped in ketchup. I think the blood should look a lot better, and you sould be able to put the prestige blood over all cosmetics, instead of them only having their own cosmetic. Just my thoughts.

Then maybe bring franklins? Or maybe dodge the lobby? Plus there's a challenge for depleting keys so that could also be it. Plus they still have to get 5 gens done to use it or 4 and have someone die.

You kind of can't bring Franklin's or dodge lobbies when there's a Killer with a Mori. Not to mention that I literally have nothing in my power to control whether Survivors are able to find a key in a chest, during the trial. It happens more often than not in my games. Otherwise, I always dodge key lobbies. I think a simple fix is to make it where Survivors can't find keys in chests during the trial, of purple or pink rarity, or that the only person who can escape via the Hatch is the user of the Key, not all Survivors. And also, Ebony Mories should be after 2nd hook, since it will be the same thing regardless; if you get downed after you get hooked twice, you're gonna die either way, unless you have DS. Ebont Mories will then only exist for the achievement, or to just get the kill satisfaction.

  • Sounds like fun! No seriously, this is why I stopped solo queuing; it seems that no matter the rank, you just can't prevent getting bad, boosted Survivors who are in red ranks, but play like yellow ranks. Not only that, but I have gotten Survivors who purposely sabotage the game, work with the Killer, to make everyone get tunneled, while he farms, and gets a free escape. It's honestly so pathetic that some people can't even play the game normally; they have to utilize farming or trolling to have fun. If you aren't enjoying playing the game the way it was intended, then don't play the game, and don't continue to ruin other players' experiences, just because you're bored.

  • @DBDIT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108777/is-anyone-else-getting-bored

I feel that way because 9.9/10 killers run ruin + bbqc every single match. I thought this game was supposed to have variety and be different from F13 but I guess not

That's the problem with the balancing of the game. It would be nice to not see every Killer run the same builds, but I don't blame them for always running Ruin. It's very rare for me to go against a Killer who doesn't have Ruin, and doesn't get gen rushed, if they're not playing Spirit, Billy, or Nurse. Ruin just seems like a necessity for most Killer players, and I'm pretty tired of seeing it every game. But, once again, you can't really blame them.

As for BBQ, who doesn't want double BP's? :)

Yep it's almost as fun as rushing gens and playing a 3 minute match

It's not like Survivors purposely do that, unless they bring 4 toolboxes, and BNP's. You're purposely creating a boring camping build, and isn't the same as that. I hate gen rush, but it's not like the Survivors are purposely trying to make it unfun; they're doing their objective. It's the same thing when Survivors get mad at Killers for "tunneling", when they're just trying to get a kill, and they happen to find you next.

It's not griefing. Depending on what killer I play, I will intentionally go into a game with a camping build.

Sounds like a lot of fun.

There's times where I have taken a break from playing and then come back but it's reaching a point where I just don't really feel like playing anymore. I mainly play survivor and I feel like it would be nice if another objective would be added or a different game mode.

Yeah we get new chapters but quite frankly it's more entertaining for killer mains because killers are actually play different, but survivors are essentially the same person just different perks. We (whoever mains survivor) usually get 2 ######### perks and 1 decent one that would later get nerfed so it's like... why am I buying this chapter again? lol

Anyone else got some input or feels similar?

It just sounds like you're getting bored of playing the same role. I play Killer and Survivor (Killer 60%, Survivor 40%), and still love the game. I began playing in June of this year, and I've never gotten bored of it, since I can always switch it up. I, however, prefer playing Killer, and it makes sense why more people prefer playing that role; more interesting, and a lot more interactive, since all Killers have their own unique abilities, and attributes in some cases, while Survivors are pretty much skins, with maybe a good perk or two, that don't even make it into the meta. I'd say that as of right now, Survivor mains are getting bored of the game, while players like Otz and Scott continue to play the game, since they play Killer. Killer I believe is more difficult than Survivor, and Killer is so much more fun to play, and is so much more interesting. Switch it up, I'd say.

Frame rate drops during gameplay, lag spikes, random booting, getting force DC'd, getting blue screened, getting hit miles away from the Killer, miles away from the window, frame rate drops while turning, vaulting causes instant lag, hit boxes (as in I get hit whilst being behind the Killer, nowhere near of their cone of hitbox) 75% of every skill check is lagged which makes Ruin super strong due to game optimization, maps never change and stay the same 2 to 3 games in a row, booted from lobbies I load into cause of "network error" (nothing I do fixes it), lobby simulator, the game freezes if the Killer leaves the after game lobby and pauses for more than 10 seconds, anything else?

Oh! You want me to state some good things about playing on console? I play on PS4, you would love to know how it's like, wouldn't you?

I think I can play the game sometimes?

    Yeah, that's about it.

I play on PS4, and I have had nearly none of these issues. Frame rates for Survivor are better than it has ever been, but Killer has significantly lower FPS. As Killer, Hawkins has terrible FPS, making it nearly unplayable, which is the only big issue with console DbD. Other than that, playing DbD on console isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. This is just my personal experience though, and there is definitely still a lot of room for improvement for the optimization of DbD on console. Lobbies as Killer are instant, and Survivor lobbies only take around 4-6 minutes, which isn't too long, for me.
