You can't be serious.
Camping and tunneling has been happening since the inception of the game.
Pretending like Undying fixed this is quite frankly one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
Funnily enough, back then i had an argument with someone who claimed Undying ruin was giving out free wins for killers. He said that he prefers camping killers over doing totems all day.
I guess, wish granted.

Are you under the actual belief that there was no camping or tunneling when Undying was released because killers were such good boys that they all just decided not to out of good sport for having such an overwhelmingly powerful perk?
Or are you just incredibly good at selective obliviousness?
The amount of threads complaining about camping dropped significantly during that period. Go check yourself if you don't believe me.
-
As a matter of fact. Whenever i use a cake, i either get gen rushed or tunneled. There is no exception.
-
So... if i see the time stamps right. You spend over 30 minutes in total wasting on that locker?

While I agree with the HUD issue and people not using it coms wont help either.
You'll just get mass toxic players shouting, crying, moaning down a mic and while I dont agree with people not doing gens I also dont want loads of people arguing. It's a big reason I solo Q I cant stand people moaning every game it puts me in a bad mood.
Coms wont help people more than a HUD, the biggest issue with solo Q are the ones these changes wont affect (dcs and the people that dont do anything)
I won´t argue that it isn´t ideal. But there is simply no other way to bring solos on the same real time information levels as to what SWF have.

where are those survivors when I play killer?
I only get those ALL Meta-Perfect-Loopers-knowingEVERYPalletLocation-hook blocking Survivors (i am not exaggerating, that's 90% of my Killer games in the last couple of days, weird
who is playing against all those 1 yellow perk Survivors who hide across the map to self mend when I solo queue? (my Killer Rank is way lower than my Survivor Rang btw.)
strange...
They are probably in Bubbas Basement. Most of the time, i get good or decent teammates. But the learn resistant ones are easier to spot.

That wouldnt solve anything specially in Europe since a lot of people dont speak the same language. I shouldnt have to learn russian to be able to have better games.
Learning additional languages could proof helpful in the future.
Jokes aside, they could add a language preference filter in the options. So you get preferably matched with people that speak the same language. Shouldn´t be to hard to implement.
-
Sadly, ingame voice chat seems to be the only solution. Simply, because whatever the hud presents to some survivors. They will happily ignore it. Just look at the amount of survivors that run behind a No Mither teammate, in an attempt to heal. Or when someone gets basement bubbad with Kindred, where Bubbas aura clearly never leaves the basement, and they still run happily into the basement.

The killer wants to tunnel someone out because it's the most effective way to win.
If the gens went slower, they'd STILL do it because they like winning, only it's even more effective now.
Lets take a look into the past. Back when Undying was released. There were absolutely no threads about camping or tunneling killers on the forum. There where tons of "Undying Ruin OP, pls nerf" threads. But camping didn´t seem to be an issue. Why? Because a killer that wanted to get any benefit from Undying Ruin, had to constantly switch targets. He couldn´t camp or tunnel.
Now fast forward to the Undying nerf and suddenly the camping and tunneling threads are back.
What a surprise! Who would have guessed, that killers with enough time to actually play the game, would prefer longer matches?!

Survivors also shouldnt be forced to use BT and DS to not get tunneled and camped but here we are
DS prevents tunneling? Sounds interesting. Tell me more!
I don´t use DS and only use BT, because some teammates have a urge to run straight into the killer. I´m having a above average escape rate without DS. So nope, as solo survivor i don´t feel forced to use DS.

Not much achievement really. People just like to spend blood points sometimes or like the idea of "progressing" something further. I would love them to add some reward to say congrats you did it, even if the reward was like every 5 prestiges or something. Having more customization would be cool too. Who knows if they'll do anything special with it.
In order to make progressing/prestiging more interesting, there really should be a way to significantly increase the appearance of higher tier addons in the web. I mean, some killers are heavily reliant on the expensive addons. Especially in higher mmr. But having to spend between 50k and 100k bloodpoints to get the 1 addon i need? Doesn´t seem worthwile to me.

What would be cool is custom items, gets to prestige 4 and get X colour item, prestige 5 for X colour item etc.
So you get a bit more customisation with your character while still showing off you have prestiged them to that level
Customization is that one thing that could be interesting. I always wondered, why they stopped at 3 slots. When there could be more. With more individual approaches. Like, for example combining the anniversary crown or mask with a non standard head. Or adding small things like sunglasses, scars, tattoos, etc.

Prestige 69 or 420
People need something to spend bp on when they reach the cap and have every perk in the game with all the items they would ever want. Especially because it's easier to blow through blood webs that are lower numbers instead of the monster big on at 50.
But what will they achieve with that? I mean, i have chars on lvl 50 with all perks unlocked, that i never prestiged. I don´t spend any more bloodpoints on them, because i can´t get anything worthwhile out of it. Now, with the new prestige system, nothing would change for me. I would perhaps prestige to 3, where i want the bloody clothes. But thats it.
-
9 - Why prestige after 3 at all?

Personally I would add new objectives to larger maps that would require you to do them sequentially but keep smaller maps as gens only.
For example maybe you need three gens to open electronic locks to cabinets that give you keys that open panels to power the exit gates or something.
There are a bunch of different things you could do but it would need a lot of testing.
So far, everything the devs tried to add in regard of additional survivor objectives. Either severly damaged killers (hexes) or turned into a secondary objective for killers (boons).
It just doesn´t make sense. That all 5 gens can be completed in less than 4 minutes. Even without coordination or preparation. A good match should take somewhere around 12-15 minutes. Why spend 5 minutes in a queue, only to have a match that lasts less than that?

@Viskod said:
"Gen Rushing" is not a thing that exists.
Completing the Generators is their objective. They don't need to do totems, they don't need to arbitrarily get into a chase with the killer. They don't need to immediately hook save.
And if you're not being much of a threat, they don't need to heal, and with some killers its beneficial not to heal immediately.
If you're not going to force them off of a generator, then why should they leave it?
Then camping and tunneling also don´t exist. Since killing is the killers objective.
-
@Sylhiri said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992301#Comment_2992301
Then we would be going around in circles. Making gen speed slow is not an option because it's basically a nerf to survivors while still giving killers to option of camping and tunneling. It might be even more viable because you can get more effectiveness out of it due to the longer gen speeds.
For the health of the game you need to solve both issues at the same time.
We need an additional objective for survivors.

@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992287#Comment_2992287
By the looks of the points, you didn't get any hooks and nobody saved, it's highly unlikely they needed to heal anyway. You win some, you lose some, they also ran medkits so why would they not heal?
Uhm, as i said. They didn´t heal. Got 1 hook who counted as 2 due to reaching struggle. The second down was right at the second the last gen was completed. After that i had little incentive to keep playing and just opened the gate.
-
@Sylhiri said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992271#Comment_2992271
But "gen rushing" is still the best tactic to escape since gens are getting slowed. More so if the killer has tunnel vision for one survivor off hook.
Too many games I've been in where the killer will ignore the rest of the survivors just to go after one like they kicked his dog or something. What can I do? Gens.
What if i told you, that the killer wants to tunnel someone out, BECAUSE the gens go to fast?
-
@Seanzu said:

"One contained people doing their objective, the other one didn't" ftfy.
I don't understand how the huntress match indicates gen rushers, none of them had perks or items (besides a toolbox set up for sabo) to aid in gen speed, so the only thing that makes them gen rushers is literally them doing their objective...
My definition of gen rushers are survivors that won´t heal up and push a gen out, even while injured. See the Adrenaline on 2 of them? Why waste time with healing, if the completed gens will do this for us? I spreaded the damage, injured everyone and instead of healing, they just sticked to gens. Let their teammate reach struggle phase, while i chased someone else. Just to finish the gens.
-
@Sylhiri said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992213#Comment_2992213
There would be the choices you have. You can escape (win) with less points or you can die (lose) with slightly more points.
The game snowballs quickly to one side depending on how many gens are done by the first kill, so far that I have seen.
Longer matches is fun for everyone as long as interactions are spread across the entire time.
But thats the whole issue, isn´t it? Killers stack gen slowdown perks to have longer matches and more interactions.
-
@GoshJosh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992213#Comment_2992213
I don't think many people choose to play the "survivor" role wanting to die. Even if it's with more points. I feel way more gratified escaping than dying with more BP.
To OP, gen speeds are fine; but many map designs are not. You also can't really nerf gen speeds any further without taking any action against camping and tunneling.
What i mean is, those survivors won´t pip at all. I mean, i play solo and i´m having a tough time to reach red grades. Simply because either my lightbringer or my benevolent doesn´t reach the required level for a pip. So i doubt that its any different for them.

40 seconds? solo gens do not take 40 seconds. Here's a quote from the dbd wiki
"Fully repairing a Generator without the help of a Toolbox, Perks and other Survivors takes 80 seconds, assuming that no Great Skill Checks are succeeded and no Skill Checks are failed. , who receives an auditory and visual cue of the completed Generator's location."
And a link to that https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Generators
What he means is, that usually the first 2-3 gens get done solo. Which takes 80 seconds and is roughly the time for the killer to cross the map, get 2 hits and carry the survivor to a hook. Now the killer has 1 hook and the survivors have 2-3 gens left. Which will get completed in coop. Thats takes 42 seconds.
-
Just leaving those 2 screenshots here. One contained gen rushers and the other one didn´t.
How people can enjoy a match, where they play just 4 minutes and escape with less points, then what they would have earned dying in a normal match. Is beyond me.
-
@Marigoria said:
If you want to play a game that is more than 4 mins, which most of mine are, just play legion with thana, dying light, ruin and some other slowdown.
People shouldn´t be forced to play certain killers/full slowdown builds. Just to have a decent match.

I've been playing for a year now, and one thing that strikes me as odd how this is still, after all this time, this is still in the game.
When boil over was changes the developers quickly nerfed it because in some circumstances the killer had no way to hook a survivor in certain areas, they had to let the survivor bleed out if they wanted a killer.
Flash forward to the most recent patch, box camping pig was nerfed, which was probably the closest comparative to basement Bubba in the game. Survivors had no chance to live, this lasted only months before it was fixed in the latest patch.
But here we are, still being camped by a Bubba on hook with no way of countering it. His chainsaw speed and number of charges completely negate borrowed time. There nothing you can do. Oftentimes it happens within the first 60 seconds of the match, and thar unluckily survivor just spend 10 min in que just to have this happen to them and have them eliminated from the game.
Why is there double standards, why is one thing considered broken and hotfixed or patched, but this isn't. It's makes no sense and it's beyond frustrating at this point.
You see posts pleading for BhVR to change this everyday, yet they won't even acknowledge it in community streams. It makes zero sense ignore it when you're actively and aggressively removing others like it from the game.
Because Boil Over caused a issue that hurt survivors more than killers. Everyone was slugged and no one had fun with Boil Over.
Now in regard of Bubba, its hard to escape the chainsaw, if your teammates don´t know what to do. But if they have BT, then escaping is possible.
Oh and Bubba doesn´t remove you from the match. Only selfish survivors, that instantly suicide do that.

Doing the no mither no other perk challenge and putting aside all the DCing teammates and people not touching gens...
The MASS number of people that follow, constantly teabag while I'm on a gen to try heal me just shows so many people never look at the HUD or learn that I'm in the broken state...
This is why HUD upgrades for solos won't help, people still dont get you can crouch over hag traps...
Literally my last match: playing solo against Hag. She traps the hook, i´m crouching towards it, to unhook a Bill. With Bond i see a Claudette rushing towards the hook, triggering 2 traps and getting grabbed off during the unhook animation. After safely unhooking Bill, i proceed to approach the hooked Claudette, while being crouched. She sees me coming crouched, without triggering the traps aaaand she instantly starts to run after getting unhooked, triggering the traps and getting hit by the Hag.
Some people are really learn resistant and i agree, they won´t notice the information on the hud. Doesn´t matter how big the info is.

Put in a few more hours as solo survivor my friend. It’s unconscionable that the devs let solo play be so horrible. And like, ######### ever happened to hit validation? It’s as bad as it ever was. Teammates quitting, bad matchmaking, killers all with insane mobility or game ruining aura perks or one hit up the wazoo… it’s ridiculous. Killer may be harder to PLAY but it’s so much easier to WIN. Survivor is easier to play but you get your ass handed to you in solo play like 90% of the time.

When you have a losing streak, then it would be best to stick to the same killer. So the mmr rating (which counts differently for every killer) lowers that rating for that particular killer faster. Which then would result in fairer matches.
Continuously switching killers would slow that process down.

Take this, you know survivor is around hook, you see no lifeform with your BBQ,
you check everywhere but you cannot find a soul,
why? Because the survivor on hook has kindred, or I have kindred, and I can see you coming to my left from the wall you can't see behind,
I go right, I silently loop you and you clear the area, you can double back, you can try all the tricks, I have live 4K CCTV aura that snitches you trying anything funny, I completely dodge you,
you leave the hook thinking survivors hid in locker or have Distortion,
you see unhook, 5 seconds after the unhooked person is healthy,
sounds fun doesn't it?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2983137#Comment_2983137
such system would get abused, as bad players would just cross out other bad players hoping to get good players that cross them out basicaly making the system nonexistant,
and some players misunderstood as good and vice versa
To avoid this, they could increase/decrease the chances by a small percentage per vote.
But yeah, some people are so bad in the game, that they don't realize how bad they are. I remember a match, where someone got downed early and basement camped by bubba. Everyone else could see bubbas aura vanishing. So everyone sticked to gens. He then proceeded to suicide and ranted in the endgame chat, how bad we are. Because no one tried to rescue him.
