Yeah thats a bug. It displays everything from the match you had before that. Noticed how the survivor names don´t match?
Reported it in the bug section. You should probably do the same.

Or look at walls or fake a pick up. It's really not that hard to avoid a flashlight save and you exaggerating the difficulty of playing against flashlights is embarrassing.
If you say so.

I remember watching a RE2: Remake video of streamers getting scared, most were the usual and normal 2-3 seconds "YAAAAGH!" but there was this Korean girl who got startled and didnt scream just started breathing very hard and clutching her chest, the way people do when they get REALLY scared (doesnt mean she is going to have a heart attack but getting really scared makes your heart race like there is no tomorrow)
P.D. I work in a refinery, I saw people doing that after an accident with an explosion as loud as bomb, we all thought we were gonna die that day.
The refinery thing is kinda understandable. We also have a refinery nearby. A couple of years ago, there was a huge explosion.

Again, with those 70% numbers you keep going to those red rank charts and they are much more weakly correlated with the overall averages than the other chart because they tracked red rank killer matches that are skewed by having a much higher number of matches where the killer is high skill and the survivors included average or low skill players. The overall chart is less biased toward that scenario because it includes all matches from all killers and survivors.
Thats exactly what i meant. The charts lack additional information. It would be nice if we could access official charts. Use filter on them, to see who played against who, what skill rating, how did it perform, etc. Kinda everything.
For example, streamers used to have 50 kill streak streams. Now they are a lot harder and most stopped attempting them. There were also streamers that went for escape streaks with over 100 escapes. It would actually be nice to see how everyone is rated right now.

Thank you for clarifying things on the forum. Much appreciated.

The ones I saw werent like that, just the usual "AAAAGH" from regular jumpscares, same as people getting startled on cinemas, but yes, throwing stuff around or running away is pretty much exaggerated and probably an act, after all streamers make their money by amusing the viewers, the more shock value the better.
Thats what i mean.
But good to know, that there are some people, who can really get affected by this. Wasn´t aware of that.

As someone who quasi-mains her, it still gets me from time to time when I'm not paying attention. Not scream-out-loud spooked, but definitely startled.
Being startled isn´t the same as the reactions the streamers had. Some were even running away.
If you search dbd sadako jump scare on yt. You get the weirdest reactions.

If you dont know about it and she caughts you unaware or really focused at something on the screen it can be scary, most videos I saw about that its people doing Bloodwebs and focusing on the nodes, I suppose if you know the jumpscare or you are just glancing at your screen it may not surprise as much.
Its just, that the streamers reactions: *throwing things around, screaming and falling from the chair* looked just over exagerated to me.
Thats why i wondered. But if @Lima24927 spelled his coffee, then well. I might be less sensitive to such things.
But good to know.

Most people that mained the original Freddy (myself included) don´t like the reworked one. He´s a thing of the past now.

There i was, wondering if all those streamers that got jump scared by her, where just faking it. And then i see your thread.
Now i don´t know what to think.
But as said above, you can turn her, so she doesn´t jumps towards you.

Right, but you also said that "two years ago the kill rates were 75%" which isn't true. A very, very small section of players had around 70% kill rates. The great majority of the playerbase had more like 55% kill rates. The game has never been close to what the original poster is asking for which is most games to have a 75% kill rate on average.
The issue is more, that it doesn´t matter what kill rate the devs balance around. We won´t know whats the real number. Especially now after the sbmmr has been introduced. Billy, for example is almost as strong as Freddy on the stats. Definetly 70% kill rate. No one would have ever complained about Billys lethality. Everyone though that he was the perfectly balanced killer (with the exception of some addons).
After all, kill rate stats lack details, specifications, filters, etc. There are so many things that could impact the outcome of a match. Survivors disconnecting, suiciding, iri addons, people doing dailys, challenges, SWF, smurfing, events, afking, etc.

I'm torn on this statement, Twins is one of the killers I play. I think the Twins are extremely clunky because of the 2 sec Nurse-Stun that happens every time you swap between the two.
But I'm not convinced they are actually bad, because of their zoning capability.
I think the best thing the developers could do is completely get rid of the 2 sec Nurse-stun and integrate the 2 seconds into a delay in switching between the two. So if you are currently Charlotte and hit the switch button, then you continue playing as Charlotte for 2 seconds, then you immediately switch over to Victor. No stun, no dimming of vision.
It would fix the awful clunkiness they have right now. Everytime I switch, I feel like the games lagging because of the nurse-stun thing they have.
I think the devs missed the oportunity to introduce coop killer gameplay with the Twins. Would have been perfect!
This would have also reduced the overall camping, which most people complain about, when facing Twins.
But yeah, the delayed switch between Victor and Charlotte after downing someone is...

Because you're not understanding why the red rank kill rate is 68%, it's because they face non-red rank survivors in a lot of their games which inflates that number. When red rank killers go against only red rank survivors in matches that average is much more in line with the 50-55% numbers on the overall ratings charts.
Oh i´m totally aware of that. I´ve been preaching exactly what you said, that the rates are artificially inflated, because it matches red ranks with non red ranks. Just like i´m aware, that the current sbmmr is very selective. At least in my killer matches. I either totally stomp survivors with 4 gens left or get totally stomped with 3 hooks by the time the gates are powered. There is no in between. Also a way to achieve 50% kill rate...
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2969859#Comment_2969859
Exactly, the grand majority of players weren't red ranks, so red rank killers did not consistently face groups of all similarly red ranked survivors. That inflates the red rank killer kill rates because they have a bunch of matches that include lower rank survivors in them. It's why those ratings are 10% or so higher across the board on that red rank chart compared to the overall averages.
There has never been a time when "most players had around 70-75%" kill rates.
Again, 68% is pretty close to those 70-75%. You get the point about what i´m trying to say. So why be so adamant about 2% on a very generous statistic?
-
Can´t wait until people discover that this page has way more survivor challenges than killer challenges.

But slugging is valid and one of the best ways to win as a killer right now. Twins and Oni are really bad without it.
They would appear to be weak if you balanced only around hooks.
I would want to see 4 stats for each killer tho. Killrate, hooks, winrate, pickrate
Well Twins are bad. Especially since the nerf.
I think the best way to balance would be to keep every killers special ability in mind. Killers like Bubba with Insta downs will have less hits than Legion. But that would be a major task to keep in mind. Just rudimentary "this is good for everyone" doesn´t apply to certain killers/playstyles.
-
@DaddyMyers_Mori said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2969867#Comment_2969867
That will never happen. There will always be S-D list with some killers in them. All you can is make it so difference between S and D is not that big.
Hooks are also not best. Some killers just are way better at slugging -> Oni
Slugging isn´t hooking. So i don´t see the issue here. Even when he slugs all 4 at the start of the match. It wouldn´t be any different from just balancing around kills.
-
50% of your matches were against afk Pigs?
-
@DaddyMyers_Mori said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2969808#Comment_2969808
I don't think that was enough to change it by a lot. Forever freddy was hell to play against, so it was understandable to do tho.
Nurse still has under 50%, but she is just super hard. That's why you can't have easy and good killer. That's why Freddy and Wraith got nerfed.
Yeah its the dilemma. When they make a fun killer, everyone plays him and then everyone complains about him (see Legion in the past weeks).
When they make a strong but hard to learn killer, also everyone complains, because they had 1 match against a good nurse and got stomped.
All killers should be at least B-Tier. So people don´t instantly lose, just because they play a certain killer. On top of that, the devs shouldn´t just balance around kills and instead go for hooks.
A bubba with 4 hooks during the whole match, could turn those into a 4k. Which would be considered stronger than a Spirit who got 8 hooks but no kills.
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2969810#Comment_2969810
That is objectively false. The great majority of players were not red rank.
People that played more than 1 hour per day where all red ranks.
Of course, in the grand sheme of DbD. The grand majority wasn´t. Because those are playing dbd very casually.
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2969800#Comment_2969800
No, individual RED RANK players using a handful of specific killers had a 75% kill rate. That’s like saying “the kill rate is 80% because Otz’s kill rate is 80%”. His kill rate is that high not because the average kill rate for killer characters is like that, it’s because he faces less skilled players than himself in a lot of matches.
Everyone was red rank back then. The rank reset only lowered you 1 color. So after 2 days, everyone was back on red ranks.
-
@DaddyMyers_Mori said:

There is a difference if one killer has high killrate or if you want average of all killer to be there.
Freddy was a good killer and easy, that's why he got there and I think they overnerfed him hard. If they just changed his addons so forever freddy is not a thing everyone would be fine.
I think the biggest issue back then was, that people suicided against him. Simply because they didn´t like playing against him.
Kinda like what people do now against Nurse.

Everything I said above applies to those. Those charts don’t show an average 75% kill rate. And the “red rank” charts which have around 68% kill rates are matches with red rank killers against all opponents regardless of rank so those kill rates are inflated versus kill rates in matches between equally skilled opponents.
Where did i say average? We had individual killers with that kill rate and most of the roster slightly below 70%. Thats way closer than the current 50%

Killers never had a 75% kill rate, the charts you’re showing don’t have that.
Individual killers had 75% and above. Freddy, Spirit and Billy. The rest of the roster was slightly below 70%. With Clown being the weakst somewhere between 60 and 62%

Yeah, there will be a huge spike in its usage because that perk and its survivor are new. Just like when Leon and Jill came out with Nemesis everyone was trapping generators and shitting Flash Bangs constantly.
It'll die down, but until then just throw on some shades and punish them for it.
I still get the occasional trapped Gen or Flashbang. But yeah, there aren´t as much of an issue as back when they released.

For example freddy got nerfed to dust.

Killers already had a kill rate around 75% and people played just fine. Claiming now, that survivors would stop playing, because it would turn survivors into bloodpoint piñatas is simply wrong.

So you don't care about escape as survivor.
Do you have same mentality for your killer exp? I mean if you have fair 8 hooks but no kills, how would you feel about this match?
Right now i have only 2 types of matches as killer. I either completely stomp survivors and get 8 hooks with 4 gens up or i get completely stomped with 3 hooks by the time the gates are powered.
Neither is fun.

This is not a trick question.
I ask people for their opinions. I didn't share mine. Question is on whether they will change the role they play if the BHVR buffs killer to power role. There is not any trick.
The only thing that changed in those 2 years was the survivor queue times during prime time. So while having higher escape rates is more appealing, it also results in longer queues.
Which leads to the question: what do people prefer?

I mean it's so logical. That survivor objective is so much faster than the killers. Then you have perks like DH, DS that wastes the killer's time even more. The killer is ALWAYS out of time in dbd, survivors can chill and still get their objective done.
Thats one of the things about DbD, that i don´t understand. Its always the killer who feels pressured. Not the other way around.
Shouldn´t survivors feel even slightly pressured, when they are chased by a bloodthirsty killer? Instead they go on full Ellen Ripley.
-
Correct. Now add perks that give survivors the power to 1vs1 the killer and you have the current meta.
-
No. Why? What do you hope in achieving with that? People can change their mind and opinion. So there is no point in digging out the post history of someone.
-
Played 4 matches as killer. Got gen rushed in all of them. In half of them, people tried to unhook themselves, so they died on ther second hook and people got mad at me for "tunneling". So i decided to watch a streamer instead. Now i can watch him getting gen rushed.

Honestly, how sad and pathetic can your life be if you start camping as soon you got a hook at 5 GENS?! Why are the scummy Killers always online when 1.5/2x BP events start? Your basically ruining everyone’s purpose to play the game and how can you enjoy yourself for starting up DBD and staring for 2 min at every survivor on the hook?
Easy solution! Switch to killer and enjoy getting 3 hooks by the time the gates are powered. Watching survivors escape with 11k bloodpoints is truly heartwarming.

You lose to bad teammates against nurse 9/10 times. This as always been and will always be. Instead of doing anything about it she just received new weapons for her arsenal and it's just obnoxious and off putting to say the least.
The issue is, that if the devs nerf her, because people dc/suicide so much against her. Then whats stopping them from doing the exact same thing with any other killer they dislike?
This behavior shouldn´t get rewarded.

Just the general behavior of the people in the game.
You can be the nicest, most fair killer in the game and you'll get teabagged and flicky flicky'd in the exit gates.
You can be a completely fair, polite survivor and get slugged with Knockout at 5 gens.
To be fair. Its hard to identify a polite survivor at 5 gens up.
But yeah, the teabag thingy. Yesterday i had a trapper daily. Endgame, 1 survivor was just rescued out of the basement. Downed next to the closed gate. Hooked a miquaela next to it and chased the other 2 survivors out. Miquaela had luck and managed to jump of the hook, got Jane up and then Jane proceeded to teabag me at the exit for the whole 2 minutes. Jane, that did basically nothing during the whole match.
Even the other survivors were disgusted by her behavior. Was actually funny how they turned on her for that show.

It really is pretty balanced here, but you'll always have people on the extremes. You can tell pretty quickly who only plays one side by the way they talk about the other; I just tune those out. Or get a good chuckle. People who play both sides tend to have more rational takes on things.
At the risk of sounding gatekeeper-y, if someone doesn't play both sides fairly evenly, I don't put much weight in their opinion.
Yes, there will always be extremes. Sometimes i wonder if they really think what they write or if they are just trolling.
But all in all its nice to discuss things here.
