Camping has been an announced feature since the beta. Insidious is a camping perk. Leatherface is the king of basement camping.
Yet survivor mains somehow think that camping is bannable. -
I like 1, because that 10% regression would stop gen tapping mid chase.Nickenzie said:Hey, I noticed that multiple amount of killer or killvivor mains say that generators are completed too fast. This isn't fun for both the survivor and killer because the killer has no chance of sacrificing survivors and the survivor is just doing skill checks for the entire trial. So I have a solution to this and hopefully you'll enjoy!
Generators will now have 3 steps that survivors will need to complete to power on the generator.
Step 1: Repair
The survivor will have to do a 80 second repair on the generator. After the survivors have completed the 80 second repair, the generator will take 10 seconds to move on to step 2 "Ready". The pistons that move on the generator when you repair it will no longer move since you haven't turned the generator on, you just repaired it.
The killer can regress the repair progress by damaging the generator. Doing so will cause an instant 10% repair progress loss and then normal regression will take effect after the instant repair loss.
Step 2: Ready
Since the generator is now repaired, it's now ready to be powered on. When standing at one of the sides of the generator, you'll get an option to "Pull". The survivor will do a 5 second animation pulling a piece of string attempting to start the generator. After completing the animation, the survivor will have a 25% chance to successfully get the generator to start up. If the survivor fails then the survivor will need to try again after the animation. When the survivor successfully starts up the generator, the generator will move on to step 3 "Warming Up".
The killer can grab the survivor during the "Pull" animation but the killer cannot do anything to the generator during the "Ready" step.
Step 3: Warming Up
After the survivor has started up the generator, it'll take 80 more seconds for the generator to completely warm up and output full power. The survivor cannot interact with the generator during the "Warming Up" step but can see the progress by standing beside the generator. The pistons will begin to move as the generator begins to warm up since now it's beginning to power on.
The killer can kick the generator and slow the "Warming Up" step by 50%. So, if the killer kicks the generator immediately after the survivor starts the generator, it'll instead take 160 seconds for the generator to completely warm up and output full power.
Complete:
Once the generator has completed it's warm up, the generator is completely repaired and finished.
What do you guys think? Hopefully this was a creative idea because I really think that this would work!
Not sure about 2. Something similar could be achieved with a different objective.
But 3 is a no go. Yes, gens would be done slower, but since neither survivors nor the killer can interact with it (after that one slowdown hit). It would be boring for survivors. Because nothing to do, and boring for killers, because where do they search the survivors?
Survivors need more (interesting) objectives.
Gasoline, parts for the gens, locks on the exit gate interruptor (where survivors have to find keys during the match), etc. -

“Survivors shouldnt feel safe in front of the killer” - devs(the required disclaimer: ive got 1800hrs and been rank1 on both sides at the end of the season dozens of times)
knowing that looping is a problem, why are we nerfing bloodlust?
Bloodlust vs a skilled survivor is already nearly useless, since after looping him for long enough to get enough bloodlust to catch me, i can just drop the pallet and force em to lose bloodlust when he breaks it, then its off to the next pallet.
what seems extremely obvious to me, a survivor main, is that survivors raged and review bombed after the last patch, and the devs solution was to cave to one of the items on the survivor main checklist on the road to starting the match with the gates open. press 3 to twerk at the exit gate.
the point of bloodlust, was that the devs say the map assets need to be fixed to prevent looping, yet i see no map fixes in the notes, just a nerf that will cause even more “being safe in front of the killer.”
This is what happens when devs arrogantly assume that they know the gameplay better than the players, and make decisions based on their own rank 15ish experience. The obvious solution is to have a small group of the most experienced players (not streamers), on both sides, review your potential decisions. The near universal opinion of your veteran players, was that the last patch was the first step in the right direction in a long time... only for you to then immediately sabotage yourselves by caving to a tiny 500ish player review bomb. Well, since it worked, next time they will bomb you much harder.
Just let the devs hand out the free win to survivors and watch from the backseat how they panic once queue time rises because killers abandon the game.

Make a special "new players" subforum where those limitations don't apply, but instead require a captcha. -

It's not 25% of the killers objective but 8,33% since every survivor has 3 lives. Killer has to get 12 hooks in the same time as survivors have to do 5 gens. That's 1,25 gen per survivor or 100 seconds to complete 1 and 1/4 gens as a single survivor. Even less if survivors use toolboxes.
I'd say my numbers are closer to reality than the 25% of him. Otherwise we wouldn't have the balance problems we have right now. -

Killer needs 45 seconds to get bloodlust 3 which resets on a pallet, hit, or if the game thinks you lost the survivor.
This event demonstrates again how ridiculously fast gens can be done. I really hope the devs take the data of this event to balance the game, but I doubt it.
Bloodlust shouldn't even be in the game. Since it's a bandaid to the looping problem which doesn't even solve looping.
The game announces itself as horror game. But the only ones who feel horrified, are the killers when survivors run to a building. -

Devour Hope is lit like every other hex totem. You can usually see them from the distance, since they look like a burning torch.
I've only ever seen it lit once it's active in my games, Ruin and Thrill I know are always lit and NOEd when it goes active. But when I've done all 5 totems myself and none have ever been active I've seen post game the killer had Devour Hope as a perk.

Not everyone has a 13 years old account on Xbox.thesuicidefox said:@Tsulan said:
This game is terrible on Xbox. If enough salty survivors report you, they can ban you from playing any multiplayer games.Never should have released it on Xbox.
Survivors are toxic on every platform.Just FYI they don't ban you from multiplayer for reports alone. Reports for anything other the profile or comms only affects your rep, which used to block you from playing games but AFAIK they removed that feature. It's also based on a ratio of players encountered online vs. number of reports, which is why it's easier to lose rep on a new account than an older one. I've had mine for 13 years, currently have maybe 30 reports against me for stuff like "cheating" but no impact to my rep because I've played with thousands of players over the years. In fact the only time my rep ever dipped was for about a month back when Xbox One first came out and they introduced the new rep system (which at the time was broken AF).
But you can't get banned from this game for reports. The worst that happens is you get a rep of "needs work" or "avoid me" (which as killer I do if I see that on your profile, but that's by choice). You could a year ago but not anymore.
If you want to stay out of "needs work" or "avoid me" play games like Fortnite, PUBG, Minecraft, etc., that have a lot of players in a game that won't report you. Once you build up that list of players encountered then it's a lot harder for salty players to bomb your rep.
It's also a bit entitled to say they should have never released the game on Xbox. From what I've seen, PC and PS players are just as salty, if not moreso, than Xbox players. Moreso only because you can be more toxic on those platforms and get away with it, where on Xbox actual toxic players get punished pretty quick. I mean I had a buddy that got a comm ban mid-game while we were in a party because he sent an angry message to a killer a few days earlier. If a message gets reported and it is indeed toxic, MS does something about it. It's actually one of the best things about Xbox, because to me it looks like no other company will punish toxic players.
So new players might be forced to play games they don't like in order to protect themselves from unjustified reports from salty or toxic players.
This report function doesn't punish the most toxic, but the one with the most reports. Which happens to be the killer.
Xbox suffers from framedrops and nurse is almost unplayable on certain maps.
So I don't think it's entitlement to think that this game should never have been released on Xbox.
But hey, if you are fine with those problems, then that's ok for me. Since it doesn't affect me.
So just enjoy the game.
Not gonna start a war on what platform is the best one. Or has the greatest benefits.

"NEW TROLL TO THE KILLER WORKS 99% OF THE TIME!"
Since you are lying about your loudout by last-second switching you are being toxic. Yet at the same time you wish for less toxicity. Can you not see the irony in your statement?
well if i didn't have to last second switch from nothing to what i want to use like a flashlight every lobby cause the killer at rank 4 doesn't want to "deal with the toxic" then i wouldn't be suggesting this cause the ones that dont switch to light-born and or Franklin's and the only way to really fix this problem is to not allow the killer to see the survivors only the name
The killer has every right to see survivors and prepare perks to counter them. They have to kill 4 players who each have 3 lives, all within 5 minutes. Sometimes I run sabotage on Jake. The killer has every right to counter that with Hangman's as without them I don't even have a match.
i could say the same thing the survivors should be able to see the killer and be able to put the right perks on to prepare for him or her. and not everyone plays SWF and not everyone saves people. most games i play i save people ASAP but others dont.... they instead wait until i am in struggle or dont save me at all most of the time i get 1 life not 3. most games i play the survivors dont know how to get all the gens done they hide so games for me last 10 - 20 minutes not 5. just because your experience's on PC are fast doesn't mean that its the same for me on Xbox. i wouldn't care about any of this if the killer didn't dodge every other lobby or DC in the loading screen cause they see a Nea in dark brown clothing with dark hair and a flashlight. or they put on light-born and or Franklin's demise and basically ruin any chance i have of flashlight saving since i have to be in front of the killer at 1 sec to start flashlight saving since it take 2 full secs to blind a killer with no add-on's that affect it.

Yeah that is a good suggestion (I missed your reply). Allow the Doctor to play more with survivors' minds, not just "make them scream more".
A bit off topic: sometime ago I saw a Doctor using Insidious to trick survivors into believing he was illusion just to smack them as soon as they went too near. Don't know if it was effective in the long term, but it was amazing
He defineatly should play more with the minds of the survivors. Tricking them to fear other survivors and to "ignore" him, because they think he´s fake.

I've seen some good doctors that are able to time the shocks to prevent vaults/pallets and get a hit pretty reliably. Is he top tier? No, not really. The thing is, most of the suggestions I see attempt to make him more of a chasing killer. I don't really think this is the right way to go about it. Making him a chasing killer is making him something he's not (e.g. Hag is a defensive killer, not designed to be powerful in chases, but powerful in controlling a section of the map). The doctor's power is mostly to find/track survivors and slow down generator progress through madness.
The only thing I might want to see changed is madness itself. It's too easy to snap out of it, so applying madness to someone and breaking off to keep the pressure up and slow down progress isn't worth doing. It stops them from working on generators, but the second you aren't chasing them they can very easily just snap out of it and go back to working on generators. If the time to snap out of it was increased, or maybe a secondary objective was added to snap out of it, I feel like that would be better.
Basically, make him his own dude, not just another chase killer. I don't like seeing every killer shuffled towards being chase focused. If his gimmick is being able to control objectives better than other killers and slow them down, that's great, that's his own unique playstyle.
We had some pretty amazing ideas for the doctor on this thread:

That´s normal.
Matchmaking is a mess. Players with 1000+ hours derank to bully (or stomp) new players.
You´ll get a lot of toxic comments and reports, when you play as killer.
Game is balanced around survivors and people disconnect the moment they get downed first. On the plus side, it´s an incredible addicting game. With a unique game play. Which can give you thousands of hours of frustration and joy (yes, both at the same time).

Thank god someone else said it as well. I wouldn’t mind DS if the game was balanced for it. NOED... well... I don’t think I’d ever agree with that perk. Suddenly flipping the game like that is kind of cheesy. Sorry for posting it again but : This Huntress had plenty of time without Gen Rush to do well. I did break two totems and was anticipating NOED. I’m sure the rest of my team broke at least two themselves. So because we missed one totem some where, this Killer went from maybe a 2k if he camped that last guy out to a 4K. Never mind he played terrible (You can watch, I had eyes on him the whole match.) He couldn’t land hatchets at all and missed swings like crazy. Me and the 3 other Survivors got cheated out an escape we deserved. All because of one perk.
I don’t even know how she let both you and Quentin get away at the beginning. Yea she was terrible but I always cringe when I see killers like huntress or anyone with one shot capabilities (unless running add-ons to prevent them from doing so) running NOED! She needed more practice! I’d ask how she got to rank 8 but I think I know how lol
Maybe not used to play Huntress and got a daily.
Happens to me all the time.
He doesn’t usually play Huntress. I’ve faced him multiple times, he usually plays Leatherface with Insidious and NOED. I get that in the current meta, NOED can be used as a perk to balance Gen Rush games, but at the same time what’s balanced for good Killers that get Gen Rushed can easily carry bad Killers. It’s not as bad as how much DS carries bad Survivors mind you, but it’s the principle that irks me.
The developers need to do something about Gen Rush and bad map balance. Then do something about NOED. DS is already on the chopping block, NOED needs to go or changed as well. However, only after the developers do something about Gen Rush and poor map design.
There ya go. Someone who got a daily with a killer/survivor he´s not used to.
Not discussing about NOED.We can agree to disagree on this one

Maybe once we get better endgame perks and people can actually prepare a strategy around that. Maybe than we will discuss again.
I personally would love it, if Blood Warden was activatable just like DH. Pressing a button. Maybe keep the 1 hook requirement after gates are powered (not open). So i makes more sense.
