Unless he hit´s a three or a wall he can go on forever.
Ironic that people consider legit things hacks or exploits, while exploits are considered legit.

Banning voice chat is not possible. There's so many options out there, even some in your browser, that you can't possibly block them all. Not to mention Steam itself has voice chat built in, which is required to run the game. Even if you did manage to stop all of them, I could still grab my phone and talk to my friends over Discord like that.
Then implemend a voice chat into the game and balance around it.
Hunt: Showdown did this pretty well. You can play with strangers and others hear you too. So you reduce the talking to a minimum. It has a free weekend, if you want to try it

Thank god someone else said it as well. I wouldn’t mind DS if the game was balanced for it. NOED... well... I don’t think I’d ever agree with that perk. Suddenly flipping the game like that is kind of cheesy.
Sorry for posting it again but :
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hwMKJtVdFeYThis Huntress had plenty of time without Gen Rush to do well. I did break two totems and was anticipating NOED. I’m sure the rest of my team broke at least two themselves. So because we missed one totem some where, this Killer went from maybe a 2k if he camped that last guy out to a 4K. Never mind he played terrible (You can watch, I had eyes on him the whole match.) He couldn’t land hatchets at all and missed swings like crazy. Me and the 3 other Survivors got cheated out an escape we deserved. All because of one perk.
I don’t even know how she let both you and Quentin get away at the beginning. Yea she was terrible but I always cringe when I see killers like huntress or anyone with one shot capabilities (unless running add-ons to prevent them from doing so) running NOED! She needed more practice! I’d ask how she got to rank 8 but I think I know how lol
Maybe not used to play Huntress and got a daily.

Game could be unstable. Yesterday i had 2 matches where i had connection issues. On the first one i got the connection error as the gates were powered and on the second one exactly as the game ended. Not sure if the points counted or not.

I´d remove the heartbeat, red stain, scratch marks and change survivors from third person to first person.
Turn this into an actual Horror game, like it says everywhere. -

I don´t agree. All the survivor has to do to use DS is getting downed. Aka failing.
All the killer has to do to use NOED is track the survivor down and hit him. If he hits more than one, the survivors are cocky or dumb.To get that ability to down them, the killer failed at stopping gens. Again any argument you make for DS I can make for NOED.
Also it's not that hard to find survivors if there are only 2 locations they can go to escape. Also again not hard to chase them when you get an additional speed boost on top of a OHK.
@Tsulan said:
NOED is a lategame tactic like Blood Warden and Remember Me. Those 3 together can be a bitter surprise for survivors. Killer wasted 3 perks for the whole duration of the match, to have a strong endgame. This is a gamble. Because if he plays against SWF, he has to make sure he kills no one before the gates are powered. Otherwise the team can work around it.NOED being a "late game tactic" doesn't absolve it of being a crutch because there is NOTHING you did to earn it. BW and RM require the killer to actually do something to get the effect, they don't just get it for free (and especially don't get it if they fail).
Putting on DS is a gamble if the killer has obsession perks to punish your team for you being an obsession. See how I can keep doing this?
That's besides the point that putting on a perk isn't a gamble in the first place. A gamble is to do something like slug a guy that was hard to catch in the first place because you want to get the last guy too. Or trying to go for a basement hook when it looks a tad far because doing that will give you a huge advantage. Using a perk that might not be used is not a gamble because if you never use it then it's moot. Plus the fact that you can easily play 1 perk short all game if your other 3 perks are solid (eg. BBQ + Ruin + Nurse's).
Let´s agree to not agree.

Just tell us your experience as killer, once you start playing killer.

NOED isn´t comparable to DS because it doesn´t qualify as crutch.
If a good killer has NOED, the survivors won´t even get to power all gens. If a bad killer has NOED, he gets 1 kill at most with it.If a good survivor has DS, he can initiate another long loop or even play cocky once the gates are open. If a bad survivor has DS, he wastes it on the first down and disconnects.
1) Good killers use NOED as a safety net "just in case" they fail. That is a crutch.
2) If a bad killer has NOED they will more often than not get more than 1 kill with it. They get something they didn't earn (even if it's just 1 kill). That is a crutch.
3) NOED rewards the killer for doing nothing. Literally nothing, you can just stand around and wait for it to proc if you want. That is a crutch.
4) NOED is a comeback mechanic, something purposely put in a game to offset skill (eg. Blue Shell). That is a crutch. Also in theory, I could argue that a good survivor may never use their DS just like a good killer may never use their NOED. Doesn't change the fact that it's there as a safety net. That's what a crutch does for the player, it makes up for some failure on their part. It also helps bad players to appear as average players as it makes up for a lack of skill.
Add everything together = DS and NOED are crutch perks.
I don´t agree. All the survivor has to do to use DS is getting downed. Aka failing.

Either implement voice chat because everyone in a swf team uses it anyway or ban external voice chat programs to get the horror feeling back.Peanits said:This game's actually got a pretty strong community, all things considered. It has only grown since launch with many people playing hundreds if not thousands of hours.
Not having voice chat was an intentional design choice. If I recall correctly, it was even tested at one point early on. The general consensus was that it ruined the atmosphere of the game, turning really tense moments into "Wow I really wish this guy would mute his mic." It would kill the tense moments where the killer might find you because lil' Jimmy is yelling to his mom that he'll clean his room in five minutes, and that it's an online game and he can't pause it.
I'd be interested to see if they'd consider it now though. Things have certainly changed a lot since launch and I feel like most people heading into it now have already seen videos/streams of it, making it less of a spooky scary horror game and more of a game-game. I would say definitely have the option to disable it though, for those that still want an immersive experience.
I don't see the later one happening, since the voice chat is to much fun for swf survivors. -
There are also videos of how a single survivor loops a killer for 5 gens without any perks. Or how a survivor hits great skill checks only while ruin is active. So that means that all survivors are OP, ruin needs a buff, skill checks need to be harder and looping should be nerfed, right?Fengminni said:Neither leatherface nor freddy need any buffing both are pretty op if played by a skilled killer. There are even videos out there that prove that you can get easily 3-4ks with both of them without perks against Rank 1 survivors. Faced so many killers that wrecked the booty of survivors with both. The only killer that needs some buffing is Wraith.
Ohh wait, yes. If a survivor loops a killer for so long, it means the killer is bad.
But if a killer does a 3-4 kill on rank 1 it means the killer is OP. Never could it be, that the survivors are bad. -

It’s literally survivors trump to dodging. Only reason killers are host is because it’s simple, and cheap, don’t let it get to your head.Actually no it's a cowards way to play. Killers dodge, no doubt, but when you get the one killer that doesn't dodge that actually means something. It means he won't be a pushover, he sees your p3 Claudette with a flashlight. He knows it's purple and you have DS. He doesn't care, he hits 'ready up' anyway.
You want killer that are pushover. You want the ones that would normally dodge you because you know that killer won't be as good as the one that doesn't dodge.
And if you don't want to be constantly dodged don't bring a flashlight, especially if someone else has one. Really, why do you need it EXCEPT to harass the killer. Throw up a purple coin and go looking for one in a chest. With Plunderer's you are almost guaranteed a flashlight, usually a green one.
Fully agree this one.. If I play killer and see that, I'm even more motivated to kill them. If I play survivor on the other hand, i picked a normal dwight with no items and if i switch to the naked david skin with flashlight (at 40 seconds to prepare) the killer dodges... There should be a punish for killers dodging, like 15 minutes ban of playing killer or something like that.

Why are these hooks not able to be sabotaged and stay sabotaged when the killer doesn't have the Amanda perk to bring them back? It doesn't say anywhere on the BBQ invite that the BBQ hooks cannot be sabotaged, so what's the deal? This seems kind of unfair and should be stated somewhere. Why do you want to sabotage those hooks permanently? Why ruin this event for killers? Are you really so miserable, that you only encounter joy by ruining the fun for everyone else?
Mostly because of Killers running, RUIN and Overcharge, and Kicking Event gens. Toxic builds meant to screw over the Survivors event. This is why people want to retaliate.
So trying to slow down the gen rush that is happening almost every match is the same as completely impeding that killers get their event points.
Nice logic.Imagine that killers could destroy a gen. Making it impossible for survivors to repair it. Thus impossible to get their event points. Sounds fair huh?
Oh wait, that wouldn´t be fun for survivors... So not gonna happen.Someone asked, I gave the reasons nothing more, I didn't say it was right.
But remember the Killers only need to hook the survivor, where as Survivors actually need to finish the gens.
If Killers need to hook people , find survivors at the BBQ Gens, because that is where they will be. Many survivors pass up normal gens looking for BBQ ones, and they often wait longer working on them before taking off at the heartbeat.
I've seen many posts estimating about 3-4 hours of Killer game play is enough to punch out the event requirements, if everyone one just let up on the toxicity for one week we would all probably have no problem making the event rewards.
Killers HAVE to reach the BBQ hook. There's literally no way around it.
If the hooks are at one side of the map and the gens at the other end, then the killer is screwed. -
Interesting.
Might be a little to strong, but then again, madness 1 is completely useless. So might as well take it.
I would like to have specialized add-ons for every killer. Which allow for different play styles.
Like for example:
- increased madness skill check chance (maybe with reduced zone)
- increased terror radius
- fake pallets, windows (appear open, when closed and closed while open), terror radius (that increases and decreases randomly),
- fake doctor that moves towards the survivor trying to hit them, fake survivors coming to aid.
- a effect that randomly switches the appearance of a survivor with the killer. So that a helping survivor is seen as a threat. -

He complained about DbD for months, they finally start fixing some stuff... balancing things for the killer. Finally and he bails?
See ya.
The upcoming survivor buffs don´t really balance the things for killers.
Last patch was only a minor nerf for survivors, which wouldn´t affect most of the survivors anyway. But the buffs for Trapper and Hag are appreciated. The hag is deadly now. I'd say she's 2nd or 3rd best. So she's very viable now. That was a marked improvement. Trapper is mid tier from bottom tier. He's better, but not really a high ranking killer.
Unless you're very good, then you could still do well with him.
The exhaustion stuff was fantastic. It helps looping. The bloodlust nerfs upcoming are a bit harsh, but so was the exhaustion stuff.
I don't know. The resetting of status' on hooking kinda turned me off.
Exhaustion was nice, but not many survivors could use SB twice in a chase. Mainly rank 1 loopers. Which are still able to loop for almost the same amount of time.
The inbuild Kindred is going to hurt killers a lot. Because solo survivors will be as time efficient as SWF groups. Killers already have problems with how fast the gens are getting done. This will only get worse with the change.
BL nerf won´t do killers any good, since BL itself is only a bandaid. I would totally support the removal of BL, if survivors and killers have the same hit (or collision) box.
The exhaustion reset in combination with the invulnerability buff will punish camping. Hiting a survivor right off the hook won´t have any effect. Add SB and the survivor reaches the next pallet before the killer can do anything. In other words, camping will get a huge nerf.

I agree. We need a ingame voice chat. Like Hunt: Showdown has.
Then balance around it.I also agree. SWF and solo survivor experiences are very unique and this game will never be balanced around both of them. If they over buff killers, SWF will still be fine but solo survivors will get crushed and if they don't buff killers enough, they will be able to beat solo survivors but fail miserably against SWF. Give survivors the ability to communicate and then make killers powerful enough to beat them.
In this way, survivor side will be more enjoyable and killers will not suffer as much as they do right now.
Exactly! Killers wouldn´t dodge SWF, since all survivors have voice chat. It would benefit everyone.
Devs could balance around voice chat without punishing solo survivors. -

Because they're different killers, quite simply. Their revs and rev cancelling work in different ways.
