    • Something that causes the Broken status effect for 120 seconds. (so long, because survivor gets hooked afterwards and the time ticks)
    • Lumber Jack: removes the stun effect when hitting obstacles.
    • Surprise Motherf...: Being able to switch chainsaw stance on Billy, he can use his chainsaw like Leatherface
    • Full charge: Leatherface doesn´t lose his charge when releasing his chainsaw to early (this should actually be part of his base kit)

They get the choice, and survivors have to accept i, so how are they the ones who are ruining the community.

Oh man... where do i start...
Killers don´t have the upper hand. They never had and probably never will. Killers can be easily bullied by survivors. Face camping doesn´t exist anymore. It was removed back in october, but survivors love the word, so now everything is called face camping.

Anything the killer does now is considered toxic by survivors. Survivors ran out of excuses to be toxic. So now they blame the killer. It´s the killers fault that they equipped DS. It´s the killers fault that they last second switched to flashlights. It´s the killers fault that he camps, when 3 survivors are camping the hook like a pack of hungry wolves. It´s the killers fault when they don´t get their ez escape.

Also, survivors can find flashlights in chests or get them from other survivors.

BOTH sides can be toxic and that’s what you aren’t realizing. Of course survivors can be toxic but blinding to save a teammate or hitting decisive is NOT toxic unless they CONTINUE to blind you at every pallet, teabag, and be unsportsmanlike. If you really hate flashlights and decisive then run enduring and lightborn...other than that I don’t know what to tell you. In all my games I run into flashlighting teammates only about 1 out of every 10 games.

Killers on the other hand that will target ONE survivor and facecamp with five gens still up (especially Leatherface reving his chainsaw in your face) can be considered to be pretty toxic. Facecamping exists still, but it has a counter which is the hook swivel. You can still look a survivor in the eye and be facecamping, it is a legit strategy...a bad one, still a strategy though. Just doesn’t make much sense to camp when five gens are up then whine and complain when they get gen-rushed.

Maybe instead of crying for survivor nerfs, learn how to work around it...a coordinated group of SWF will always give you a run for your money. I don’t get mad because it is a video game, both sides want to win and the more skilled side will more than likely win whether it is asymmetrical or not. Sometimes the side that plays dirty wins whether it be an Insidious basment Leatherface or a flashlight SWF group.

Of course both sides can be toxic. But i almost only see toxic survivors. Hell they are even toxic to their own teammates, when something goes wrong. No, not every survivor is toxic. But there sure are enough of them, where 1 is rank 20 and the rest is in red ranks. Those don´t play just to escape. Those play to be as toxic as possible.

I keep hearing those horror stories of face camping leatherfaces that camp you with 5 gens. But i´ve never seen one. I played almost exclusivly survivor for the last 2 months. I had maybe 2 toxic killers. But no face camping monsters you seem to encounter every match. But then again, i wouldn´t loop a leatherface around a basement.

There is no working around it btw. Killer can´t be at 4 places at the same time. If he chases 1 survivor, the other ones can do gens. If he switches target, the first one goes back to a gen. The ONLY way around it, would be to play highly mobile killers like Billy or Nurse all the time. and even then, survivors can gen rush you.

In my own experience, a lot of Leatherface players play like an absolute forehead and will have the mindset of “tunnel, tunnel, tunnel.” Then get gen rushed when they finally get that one survivor down and realize there is only one generator left then they start to camp because they want to ensure a kill then at the end of the screen everybody gets more points than Leatherface did. I rarely have any good encounters with Leatherface players.

I’ll never attempt to loop a Leatherface near the basement by the way, but when he has agitation and iron grasp sometimes you are going im that basement no matter what.

Survivors are very powerful at keeping the killer distracted but very weak in breaking line of sight and stopping chases which is why you see people looping killer and not playing stealthy.

I dunno about only Nurse and Billy. I honestly feel as though The Pig is underrated. NOED Piggy with four traps left, it is pretty much game over especially since survivors tend to be overly altruistic. Not saying The Pig is top tier but there are other viable options rather than just Nurse and Billy ESPECIALLY on console since The Nurse is harder to use on console

I can link you some screenshots of me playing Leatherface. Not every Leatherface is a Insidious basement camper. I consider him one of the weaker killers. Because he´s very limited with his chainsaw. But i like playing him.

If 4 gens get done while the killer downs his first survivor, then there´s a huge balance problem. No surprise the killer camps. There´s not much to do. Even if he knows where to go, chances are high that the gen pops before he reaches it. Then the loop starts again. Thats not really toxic from the killer. Maybe pragmatic. But that´s about it.

Yeah thats quite sad and I dont understand the design decision to produce unviable killers, but seems like they actually do that intentionally

Oh i DO understand the design decision and i don´t like it at all.

It´s simple: survivors are more and pay to get entertained. They only get entertained by weak killers which they can bully. You know, have an exciting chase with no real threat. A strong killer would lead to more players playing killer. Which would result in longer queues for killers (like the PTB). Thus they keep the killers weak and the masses happy.

But you know all survivors arent like that.
Yes, ochido and his fans really screwed this, but there are other survivor mains who like the challenge (not broken killers though).
I would like to know what is the percentatge of ochido fan boys tbh. A real one, not just a guess xD

Of course not all are like this. But enough are comfortable with being able to "outplay" the killer with minimum effort by running in circles or by using voice chat.
Remember, the devs said themselves they balance the game around rank 20.

  • @BloodyNights said:
I personally think they shouldn't allow the killer to see the survivors at all when they load into a lobby. It will stop all the dodging, and it's not like the survivors get to see the killer, or what add-ons they are using before the match starts to plan accordingly. You bet your ass when I see 4 Claudettes all wearing the same costume I'm going to put on whispers or nurse's calling or something to help track them down.

But I get it, swf is super powerful with them all talking, telling each other where the killer is at all times, so they know when it's safe to do gens, or when someone's going for the save. But it isn't going to get nerfed, not being able to play with friends honestly sucks. Depending on randoms is ridiculously frustrating. Gens don't get done, everyone goes for the save at the same time, or no one does thinking someone else will do it. Randos will quit as soon as they get knocked down once, or sandbag you by pulling you off the hook when the killer is 5 foot away. It can be incredibly frustrating.

What I don't like however, is the idea of ranks, you want to try out a new killer you obviously don't have any perks or add-ons but they force you to go against a full squad of survivors who are decked out with sprint burst, self-care, DS etc. Of course you are going to have trouble, and it deters you from trying new killers. Likewise trying out new survivors to me feels a bit intimidating because they usually have terrible perks, and trying to get their adept trophies for just using their exclusive perks is also a bit annoying when playing at low ranks.

I do think a more casual mode, or a non ranked mode should be added, and that for the ranked mode they should maybe see about rewarding low ranks with blood points or Iridescent shards depending on where you ended up at?

The problems you describe is what this game was designed for. People should doubt and make mistakes. That´s why killers are so reactive. They depend on the mistakes survivors make. If there is a voice chat and everything is coordinated, than the gens will be finished faster, which leads to a gen rush since there is nothing else to do.

Also, the killer should be able to prepare for the match. Since its a 4 vs 1! If the killer doesn´t know what´s awaiting him, then i guarantee you, he will dc the moment he encounters several flashlights or hook sabos.
Whats worse, lobby dodging or dc mid match?

  • @MisterCremaster said:
Different game modes is probably purely dependent on the player base going up. No one will be happy if they chose ranked play and can't find anyone to play with. They could do improve this by putting in "estimate game finding times" like Overwatch has (had?), that way you can chose to play in the more populated modes.

Its probably also a matter of time and money. Hopefully the new DLC gives them a good income injection. I got the base game free on PS+, but I've still thrown some money at them for DLC because I'm having fun, but I obviously have no idea how many other PS+ players have done the same. (Or if they get any money for being a PS+ game)

I might have a solution for that. It´s a longer read tho.

SWF would dc to give their friends bonus points.

DC sucks for everyone. They need to increase the punishment.

Dont you think it would be the most tedious way to farm? I mean, just 1 or 2 would get those extra bps and then wait for the lobby, loading screen and stuff.

I don´t question the logic behind swf teams that dc.
I had people loop me for several gens and dc when i down them. There is no logic behind all this. But people do it, and if you give others BPs for dcs, then they´ll abuse it.

  • @powerbats Are we honestly discussing about how OP Freddy is?
He IS the weakest killer we have. Yes, people can play good with him on rank 1. I achieved it myself. BUT that doesn´t mean that he´s strong. That just means that there are to many noob players on rank 1.
Freddy needs some love and now that the devs are reworking him, survivors claim that he´s OP? Like the last time? Where they nerfed him after 1 week. Haven´t they done enough damage? Do you guys really enjoy facing Nurse only on high ranks?

  • Yeah, there are some ugly SWF teams out there. Where 1 player is rank 18 or lower and the rest are red ranks. They enjoy bullying noobs. The matchmaking should honestly match for the highest rank. Not the lowest.

  • Soooo did i miss something or why do survivors suddenly all think that Freddy is fine?
Ahh yes, because the devs plan to rework him. So in order to avoid it, that the weakest killer gets some love, threads like this one spawn to avoid getting him buffed. You sure seem to enjoy Nurse only on high ranks.

Forget, they better give money to deatngarden, where yesterday there was a peak online - 47 players, and survivors in their game let them play with lags, lag-switchers, undeserved hits through windows and pallets. The only way out is to play this game normally - to be a host, that is, to play for a killer. Perhaps someday, if there is a second part of the game, then they will think about dedicated servers, but for now, suffer and enjoy what is, if you play for the survivor.

If you play killer, then you'll also find lagging survivors that teleport like a nurse.
  • Don´t rush it! You are new, you don´t have all the useful perks unlocked. If you rank up to fast, you´ll encounter fully equipped survivor teams which WILL crush you.
Ignore the after match chat. Play the way you want to play. Don´t be afraid to lose some rounds.
Camping usually nets you lesser points but can make your life easier. It could also horribly backfire. A good killer knows when to camp and when not to.
Don´t focus to much on one survivor. If you chase 1 and 3 gens pop while you still can´t down him, then it´s best to ignore that player and go for someone else.

  • What i´m more worried about is, that they planned a double BP event before the summer ends. Which is in 2 weeks. I hope they don´t do another Freddy release. Where we get the new killer the same weekend as the double BP event and the free weekend.

I'm probably the only one who thinks that this is exactly how the game should be played. 3 survivors and 4 or 5 gens.
When that happens, the power role shifts from survivor to killer.
Killer feels powerful and survivor feels scary. Just as it should be. You know, horror game.

After 50 hours nobody is scared and no amount of changes will make that happen, a new killer comes in, the spoopiness is there for an hour or two and then you're golden again.

Also 3 survs is too easy, one hooked, one saving, one on a gen, you know exactly where and what everyone is doing, which in my opinion would make it very boring for a killer.

    but again, thats MY OPINION.

It would feel scary. At least thats the way I feel, when i´m one of the survivors. Can´t run around like a crazy man, clicking with my flashlight to get the killers attention.

Didn't take you for a clicky flashlighter anyway tbh.

Oh.. yeah that wasn´t regarding my playstyle.
But i had some really tense matches, where 1 survivor disconnected right at the start with 5 gens up. I really enjoyed those matches, because everyone played safer.

One of the best matches was, where one dc during the loading screen, another one right at the start, and the third one died suicided on the hook. I was left alone with 4 gens but had Left Behind equipped. I managed to 99% 3 gens and the killer caught me, when i popped the 4th gen. I loved that match!

Instead of headless chickens running around when there is a Hag, or stacking when it`s meyers.

It`s just the opportunity to play with better people

Not necesarily. I still encounter headless chickens on high ranks.
Ranking up is simply to easy.

  • Sure, you would only have to farm 2.500.000.000.000 bloodpoints for that shirt. Happy farming!

  • You forget that DbD was never designed with dedicated servers in mind. It might be hardcoded p2p.
Devs never specified on that regard. Also, even IF we get dedicated servers. There´s no guarantee that there would be servers near your location. Depending on the country, your lag could increase.
So careful what you wish for.

You see rank 1 Freddy's because those are good, experienced killers playing. I'd like to think any killer with 1000-2000 hours of playtime can hold rank 1 with any killer effortlessly. He's just a derped down version of any other M1 killer and any player with knowledge/skill with mechanics in this game can 4k on any killer. I see it all the time.

Freddy is a bad killer. He's the only killer that can sit, watch a gen be completed and get a pallet slammed in his face by the same survivor simultaneously. You can sleep a survivor and watch them run around in a loop, tap a gen and skill check out of dream state before you can even hit them. You can sleep 2 survivors on the same gen, chase one and 10 seconds later see the other survivor you slept has woke up. Survivors absolutely disrespect Freddy.

In my second week of this game, I played Freddy and OWNED with him in high ranks. I managed to get down to about rank 8 with Freddy and that's when survivors really started to know how to play against Freddy. That's when I started giving Billy a try. I never looked back after switching to Billy. There's just not enough time in a match to effectively kill with Freddy.

    Not exactly effortless.
I have 1000 hours, reached rank 1 with Freddy. Then I almost exclusively played survivor for 2 months. Yesterday I played Freddy against youtubers and they smashed me like a bug. 3 gens poped simultaneously. While I was getting looped.

Everyone can have a bad game.

I ain't promised, but i'll gift it to you, be sure of that, maybe Master too if he's nice

I am always a nice guy.... unless you use DS

    We both are ;)

  • I actually am, because @jiminie promised to gift it to me, @Master and @PNgamer !

  • So i just had a match against Freddy. No wonder survivors think he´s OP. They behave like he´s a omnipresent being. I see survivors crouching all the time, even if they don´t hear the lullaby. They try to hide and don´t go for unhooks, because he could be everywhere.

Conclusion = survivors think Freddy is strong, because they behave like noobs.
    This was on rank 8...

He sure does see a ton of play at rank 1.

This just means that it's to easy to reach rank 1.

Uhm where is the high reward in that perk?

I only see you being moried and then respawning as a useless survivor^^

Well it's the equivalent of killer hex perks.
  • I play both sides.
I prefer killer, but i´ve been playing almost only survivor in the last 2 months.
Survivors are way to strong (or easy) and forgiving in comparison to killers.

  • Have you tried to restart the game? Or to switch to survivor lobby for a moment? That usually works for me.
  • Amanda looks amazing on those artworks you've been doing.
    Not scary at all. ;)

Freddy´s lunge range? What´s wrong with him??

If I had a diamond for everytime I was vaulting a pallet and I was already on the other [BAD WORD] side but that [BAD WORD]'ead still manages to hit over it and get me

ALL lunge ranges are the same. Freddy has exactly the same lunge as Billy or the Trapper.
The only exception is Myers in EW 1. He has a shorter lunge. But EW 2 and 3 are the same as every other killer.

Minor correction, EW3's lunge range is actually longer than every other killer.

Yes, my bad! I thought it was the same.
  • So they killer can watch you struggle for 2 minutes. While you try to get that last struggle point...
    Great idea! -.-
  • The question that is more important is: When will the game feel like the trailer?

They made all of the traveller outfits unlockable with shards until 10 September.

So peoples will spend their shards on it and won't have enought to unlock the new killer.

Or that's just the date they unlock new skins.

I guess the 11th sounds right, considering that the fog traveller outfits are available until the 10th.

    outfits are timed?

no, just timed to be able to purchase them with shards instead of cash

Ohh... i never payed attention to outfits. Good to know.

Hell no. Survivors are overpowered already, they don't need any more broken stuff like instaheals...

######### is going on with all those survivor mains here...

Hey! We don't want more instastuff, we just want something more than just a toolbox or medkit. Nothing new in 2 years, I'm sure there's some fun ideas similar to the event firecrackers.

the devs cant balance this game anyway. they would just release broken stuff. so they should not release new items at all.

    What could possibly go wrong?
yeah we thought it would be fun if we gave survivors miniguns and mini nukes

Purge on you if it's not today.

    I smell heresy

  • Survivors need new objectives. Then items + addons for those objectives.

It shouldn't be the wait like the clown because there is no store etc... the update should be more smooth this time... the expected time is the 11th... things do change though..

No official confirmation. Could be today.
    God i hope it´s today...

  • We need several game modes. A Casual mode with more forgiving rules, a ranked mode which has stricter rules and a hardcore mode.
