  • Maybe they'll launch it on the PTB and actually take into account what the players say.
Unlike the Spirit, where they shut down every complaint by "we tested it internally and think it's fine".

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they achieve it, to make him actually weaker.
Just like they did with the Wraith cube.
  • Nice idea, but survivors would simply not play on the PTB. Since there's nothing for them to gain. We've seen this several times in the past. No huge survivor buff? No interest.

In certain instances I don't think killer should see survivor's names. I have seen a lot of DBD live streams where the killer was stream sniping to know where the player was at all times. It is very difficult for a survivor to stream snipe a killer, unless they happen to search everyone who streams at the time they are in the lobby (but why go through all that effort?)

Agreed names should never be shown ever since I've had so many games where it's obvious the killer is stream sniping it's not even funny. The killer should always see characters but that's it.

Maybe don't have tv in your name?

None of the streams I've seen sniped had TV in the name, but yes, having TV in your name doesn't help at all. Some streamers even change their gamer tag for DBD to avoid this, but sometimes, people still find a way to snipe.

If it's someone big like panda or true, than they'll always find a way to snipe. Even without names. They'll just look for the corresponding survivors+skins.

I literally ran into the same camping Hag 3 times today. I really hate short games, wish I can avoid this person somehow. I understand how you feel but then again some people might just duck and dodge killers that literally do what they have to do fairly (which I find hypocritical because killers do this all the damn time with certain survivors they don’t wanna face)

If you run 3 times into the same killer, then there might be not enough killer players in your region.
    Just saying.

That and or time of day is a big reason too, early am PST around 2-3 am you'll have the same 2-10 killers or so and the same 12-24 or so survivors playing. Now granted this is around ranks 1-3ish during those time frames on PC.

As far as names neither side should see names at all, killers already dodge based upon items and names, we don't need survivors doing it as well.

Maybe names yes, but no profiles. Killers need some kind of advantage. Since they are in a disadvantage in every aspect of the game.

Could be that 3 or 4 gens are done before they get the first hook. Maybe the killer feels pressured to play a certain way, because of how fast the game pace is.

But what if it isn’t that? Then whats the strat?

Remember that camping is wildly used for anything these days. If a survivor loops the killer around the hook, that killer is called a camper, even if it wasn´t his intention.
Killers use BBQ to have a reason to leave the hook, yet survivors are so good at hiding behind a gen or in the terror radius, that there won´t show up a new target for the killer. When that happens, the killer KNOWS that there must be someone nearby. When he starts searching = camping.

Ok this is ironic in a way since killers tell survivors all the time to hide behind a gen and get closer to hook to counter BBQ. So now it's survivors fault the killer searches around the hook causing them to quote unquote camp.

Now if the killer looks around and finds no one that's fine, but when they sit there and do nothing but circle the hook or camp it that's camping. IF they're chasing someone around the hook, that's legit and not camping in any way shape or form.

The person getting chased needs to run the killer away so person can be unhooked, not sit there and try and fake the killer out and prove how cool they are at earning boldness points.

Not ironic. Simple fact. When survivors cry about BBQ being op, I tell them to hide behind a gen.
This has consequences. Since the killer won't see anyone, he might camp.
Every survivor who has even the slightest skill, can stay in the open, count to 4 and run somewhere else. Who's not skilled enough for this, hides behind a gen.

Survivors want the killer to leave the hook, but don't want to give him a new target. They want the best of everything.
  • So... is this part 2 of your other thread with basically the same call for nerfs?

    • nurse = strong, but not impossible to beat
    • billy = the most balanced killer in the game. Every killer should be as balanced as he is.
    • hag = maybe use crouch for something else than teabaggin?
    • DS = 1 DS is ok. 4 DS are a nightmare and OP. Devs could leave DS the way it is, IF (big if) only 1 survivor can use it.
    • SC = survivors shouldn´t be able to be self sufficient. It´s a teamgame.
    • BBQ = what´s wrong with BBQ? It´s the number 1 perk that reduces camping. Killer camps despite of using BBQ? Maybe stop hiding behind a gen then.
    • NOED = only punishes gen rushers. If you take your time to cleanse all totems, there won´t even spawn NOED.
    • Ruin = only way to slow down the game against gen rushers. You have 3 ways to stop it: cleanse it, hit great skill checks and gen tap. It´s a bad perk that could get some love, but is a must, because of how fast gens are done.
    • stealth = you have all you need to play stealthy. IW, Q&Q, Dance with me, Lightweight, CS, and Ninja suit Claudette. Doctor can be stealthed. Just look at your feet. When you see the static field, the doctor is coming. Better go somewhere else or hide in a locker.

All 4 survivor jump on different gens asap (5-10 sec)

Only one survivor can get chased at a time, everyone else stick to his gen.

60-80 seconds later 3 gens should be done and the first victim hooked.

Now either a) killer is camping and the remaining gens will be done in another 60-80 sec or b) killer is not camping -> free unhook and heal -> repeat the above.

    = 120 - 160 seconds to do all gen

This leaves another 1- 2 minutes to open the gates and you are still way under 5 min.

Okay, that's all cool and all but it's easier said than done. LINK me a generator rush video that shows all generators being powered on in 2 minutes! :)

Gen rushing is a ridiculous complaint .
Like saying a killer is hooking people too quickly or sumthin.
    It's literally the objective.
And if u get good team, its gonna happen.
Why? Because there isnt much more to do that's valuable.
And yes its laughable to have to at the end,go and search for the killer and try and get him to chase just so I dont depip.
But popping totems is about the closest thing to anything other than gens that's worth doing .
I wouldnt say its flawed system as it depends on survivors and killer. But yes I agree killer has no control of game and needs something to apply pressure.
But giving survivors something other than gens to do is sounds like way too drastic. In the end it's all up to how gud the players r and knowledgable

You clearly haven't been playing the game for very long. Everyone agrees doing generators is boring, and if you'd bothered to read the OP, you'd see that they don't want to punish Survivors for doing the only objective available to them.

Survivors need additional objectives. Everyone agrees on that, but devs haven´t commented any ideas or possible changes. :(

Wow... Looking at all these comments makes me think the community is delusional. A good balanced-strong killer is Myers hands down. He can be OP with the right addons! Again ive been rank 1 on both survivor and killer and have been playing for a long time. Things that are overpowered: Hag, Nurse, Billy, BBQ and Chili, Ruin, Noed.. BBQ and Chili its one of those perks you have to take like it feels good I get it but compare it to the Survivor perk Were only gonna live once... 1 is just points and the other is points and auras making it a must take as killer..
Killers that need a major buff: Cannibal, Freddy... I feel bad when I vs these killers I also play as leatherface and he feels sooo weak even when you put on purple and green addons hes stupid weak to these other killers.
Things OP on Survivor: Decisive Strike, Self Care, infinite loops (kinda which makes killers like the Hag and Nurse broken..)
I don't know how anyone can even argue with what ive stated.. Like go play the game.. Everything Ive said is 100% accurate.

Why is everyone complaining about the number 1 reason for killers to leave the hook?
I´ll never get it. Before BBQ, the forums were full of "nerf camping" threads. Now we barely see them.

Ruin isn´t OP, because you can do 3 things with Ruin active: search the totem, hit great skill checks and gen tap. I honestly think it should be a hexless perk. Since it´s not really hard to bypass it and only serves to slow down gen rush.

NOED only punishes gen rushers and can be disarmed even before its active.

Myers can be OP with the right add-ons. But is extremely limited if he uses both of his ultra rare add-ons. He´s in no way even close to Billy or Nurse. Which can be deadly without add-ons.

She'll probably take Freddys place. Or Wraiths.

She's nowhere near low tier. She's not top tier but she's pretty close enough it's just hard to play properly. Guess like who. Her ability might need a small change to the cooldown but other than that she's really powerful in the right hands.

Remember that they remove her ability to see blood, since it's a add-on. She's way to add-on dependant. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I don't think that she'll be able to play consistently on high ranks.

Yeah I've seen that earlier today. What the heck tho. That was important to her core gameplay ...

That's why she will be trash tier, though. Looooong cooldown, disability to see anything despite bugged scratchmarks, low speed, long charge. Vaults, stealth, and just walking away counters her completly.

The long cooldown really hurts her. No other killer is so limited in the use of the abillity.
But they tested it internally (yikes) and deemed it OP, when you could see survivors or had a shorter cooldown.

So I've been playing on and off for a few months started playing more when it became a plus game. The one thing that's really been bugging me is I often will get matched up with rank 2 SWF groups when I'm a rank 15 killer. Seriously it's happened twice in an hour at this point.

The matchmaking is very unbalanced when SWF comes up and they should not be facing killers in the newbie ranks, I'd really like to see an option to opt out of SWF completely. Give killers who opt into SWF double bp or some other incentive maybe.

I'm sick of swf. I came up with temporary solution for myself, to blow off some steam. Its in the description. image
This has been addressed so many times but devs refuse to do make it happen.

Intentionally playing against new survivors so you can then bully - very admirable of yourself.
Absolute embarrassment, i've seen three killer mains talk about intentionally deranking now, and they're all incredibly vocal about balance. I'd love to speak to the newer players you intend to bully and see if they thinks it's fair and balanced they'll have to play against people who know all the mechanics of the game.

I agree with you. Both sides have been incredibly toxic. I've seen killers depip to stomp noobs and SWF deathsquads depip to bully noobs. All during a f2p weekend half a year ago. I made several threads on the steam forum. How ashamed I'm of our community. Because new players shouldn't be matched with veterans. That it's also bad for the overall health of the game. Since we always need new players. Which get spooked away.

Back then I proposed noob ranks. Now we got them. I would have implemented something more elaborated. But it's better than nothing.

SWF matchmaking should always match for the highest rank player. Not the lowest rank. It's being abused to match red ranks against grey rank killers.

Well I can imagine that players are pissed, when they get gen rushed and survivors won't leave, because now they suddenly feel the urge to do totems...
I wouldn't blame the killer. Once the gates are open, I leave.
If i know for sure that the remaining survivors are safe then yeah, i'll leave. If someone is being chased i'll try to save him/her, even if i die trying it.

I don't think they should reduce hooks, but they definitely need to look at hooks so close to each other that survivors can stare at each other on the hook.

I'm part of the exclusive survivor main club?!
    Woohoo!

For leatherface, I think it would be awesome to have an add-on that slowly reduces your terror radius while you have your chainsaw charged, eventually to the point where your terror radius is 0m (after 10 seconds or so of charging it), making the chainsaw silent as well. Then you can sneak up behind someone, scare the hell out of them, and stand a good chance at getting an instant down as well. Not only would it be powerful and practical, but it would still be fun to play against because you would know to look out for it after the first time it happens.

    For hillbilly, ¯_(ツ)_/¯
What do you get a guy that already has everything?

For Billy: the ability to keep on chainsawing after destroying a pallet.

I think it happens more often in mid-low ranks. Yes, it's kinda annoying, but nothing we can do about it. Just report.
Wait... so I could actually punish survivors that won't leave by clicking leave match?
    Imagine the possibilities!

You actually think it was your pair of all caps threads that made a difference? Because it wasn't, not by a long shot. It was the people reporting the spam and the mods deleting it when they came online.

    Shhh, let him feel special...

I would have closed his 2 threads as well as the spam threads.

Soooo did i miss something or why do survivors suddenly all think that Freddy is fine?
Ahh yes, because the devs plan to rework him. So in order to avoid it, that the weakest killer gets some love, threads like this one spawn to avoid getting him buffed. You sure seem to enjoy Nurse only on high ranks.

I play freddy... don’t call me a survivor. The pallet abuse is real
So do I. Reached rank 1 with him. I still think he's the weakest killer.

I'm not exactly sure what the first 2 comments have to do with what I posted.

Let me explain: First of all, when the PTB was still active, you had aprox 30-40 minutes lobby time as killer.
Second, the killer isn´t really strong and survivor already know how to avoid her.

    I refuse to believe that!

Goddamnit I really wanted to like her. She looks awesome.
She'll probably take Freddys place. Or Wraiths.
  • I agree. Boil over needs a buff. It should have a higher range and affect the killers movement more.
  • @Tsulan said:

    • Something that causes the Broken status effect for 120 seconds. (so long, because survivor gets hooked afterwards and the time ticks)
    • Lumber Jack: removes the stun effect when hitting obstacles.
    • Surprise Motherf...: Being able to switch chainsaw stance on Billy, he can use his chainsaw like Leatherface
    • Full charge: Leatherface doesn´t lose his charge when releasing his chainsaw to early (this should actually be part of his base kit)

I like the idea of something causing the broken effect. Maybe Iridescent chains?

    Yeah something like this.

Wraith and Pig players are the typical face camping killers. I had a Wraith who caught somebody (with five gens left by the way) and put them in the basement and they had Insidious. Not what I like to go against but I’m not gonna say they were wrong in doing so...it’s a scummy way to play but they aren’t breaking any rules. Yesterday I had a STUPID Claudette farm me every time I got hooked and the Hag tunneled me like an ass. I blamed Claudette more than the Hag but it’s still scummy to target the same person who is obviously being farmed. I spectated and told my friend not to save the Claudette and she sat there at rot on the hook and she died. I cannot stand farmers, it’s usually your own teammates. Those are just some examples. People will defend killers and claim they aren’t being toxic but the moment as survivors hits DS or blinds a killer they are toxic and deserve to be face camped. Entitled killer mains are all around. With facecamping and entitled killer mains you can’t argue, they aren’t breaking any rules. Scummy way to play? Yes, but not worth your breath. Either let yourself die on the hook or DC, not that hard to do

People say the survivors are the cause of our communities community but what you said about covers it. Sure the survivors are partly to blame, but all the scummy entitled killers will label anything as toxic and play as toxic as possible in reply. They keep crying DS and flashlight but really, the killer can choose mid game wether to be toxic mid game or not, but survivors are stuck with he load out they joined the game with. The killers can't be bullied because they always have the upper hand. They can decide to face camp toxic players and not to camp fair ones. They get the choice, and survivors have to accept i, so how are they the ones who are ruining the community.

Oh man... where do i start...
Killers don´t have the upper hand. They never had and probably never will. Killers can be easily bullied by survivors. Face camping doesn´t exist anymore. It was removed back in october, but survivors love the word, so now everything is called face camping.

Anything the killer does now is considered toxic by survivors. Survivors ran out of excuses to be toxic. So now they blame the killer. It´s the killers fault that they equipped DS. It´s the killers fault that they last second switched to flashlights. It´s the killers fault that he camps, when 3 survivors are camping the hook like a pack of hungry wolves. It´s the killers fault when they don´t get their ez escape.

Also, survivors can find flashlights in chests or get them from other survivors.

BOTH sides can be toxic and that’s what you aren’t realizing. Of course survivors can be toxic but blinding to save a teammate or hitting decisive is NOT toxic unless they CONTINUE to blind you at every pallet, teabag, and be unsportsmanlike. If you really hate flashlights and decisive then run enduring and lightborn...other than that I don’t know what to tell you. In all my games I run into flashlighting teammates only about 1 out of every 10 games.

Killers on the other hand that will target ONE survivor and facecamp with five gens still up (especially Leatherface reving his chainsaw in your face) can be considered to be pretty toxic. Facecamping exists still, but it has a counter which is the hook swivel. You can still look a survivor in the eye and be facecamping, it is a legit strategy...a bad one, still a strategy though. Just doesn’t make much sense to camp when five gens are up then whine and complain when they get gen-rushed.

Maybe instead of crying for survivor nerfs, learn how to work around it...a coordinated group of SWF will always give you a run for your money. I don’t get mad because it is a video game, both sides want to win and the more skilled side will more than likely win whether it is asymmetrical or not. Sometimes the side that plays dirty wins whether it be an Insidious basment Leatherface or a flashlight SWF group.

Of course both sides can be toxic. But i almost only see toxic survivors. Hell they are even toxic to their own teammates, when something goes wrong. No, not every survivor is toxic. But there sure are enough of them, where 1 is rank 20 and the rest is in red ranks. Those don´t play just to escape. Those play to be as toxic as possible.

I keep hearing those horror stories of face camping leatherfaces that camp you with 5 gens. But i´ve never seen one. I played almost exclusivly survivor for the last 2 months. I had maybe 2 toxic killers. But no face camping monsters you seem to encounter every match. But then again, i wouldn´t loop a leatherface around a basement.

There is no working around it btw. Killer can´t be at 4 places at the same time. If he chases 1 survivor, the other ones can do gens. If he switches target, the first one goes back to a gen. The ONLY way around it, would be to play highly mobile killers like Billy or Nurse all the time. and even then, survivors can gen rush you.

In my own experience, a lot of Leatherface players play like an absolute forehead and will have the mindset of “tunnel, tunnel, tunnel.” Then get gen rushed when they finally get that one survivor down and realize there is only one generator left then they start to camp because they want to ensure a kill then at the end of the screen everybody gets more points than Leatherface did. I rarely have any good encounters with Leatherface players.

I’ll never attempt to loop a Leatherface near the basement by the way, but when he has agitation and iron grasp sometimes you are going im that basement no matter what.

Survivors are very powerful at keeping the killer distracted but very weak in breaking line of sight and stopping chases which is why you see people looping killer and not playing stealthy.

I dunno about only Nurse and Billy. I honestly feel as though The Pig is underrated. NOED Piggy with four traps left, it is pretty much game over especially since survivors tend to be overly altruistic. Not saying The Pig is top tier but there are other viable options rather than just Nurse and Billy ESPECIALLY on console since The Nurse is harder to use on console

I can link you some screenshots of me playing Leatherface. Not every Leatherface is a Insidious basement camper. I consider him one of the weaker killers. Because he´s very limited with his chainsaw. But i like playing him.

If 4 gens get done while the killer downs his first survivor, then there´s a huge balance problem. No surprise the killer camps. There´s not much to do. Even if he knows where to go, chances are high that the gen pops before he reaches it. Then the loop starts again. Thats not really toxic from the killer. Maybe pragmatic. But that´s about it.

Of course not every Leatherface is an Insidious camper. I’ve just gone against so many that will run BBQ and not put it to use. There isn’t a point in using BBQ and see all three survivors and not go after one of them. Now if they are all around the hook like a pack of wolves then obviously there is no need to leave the hook.

Leatherface is a weaker killer, which is why I’m surprised I see him pop up so much in higher ranks. Although Wraith is considered a weaker killer and I see him pop up a lot in high ranks as well

Going back to the toxic teammates I HATE when Farmer David gets me off the hook right in front of the killer and I’m the one getting tunneled. I mean it’s a smart move on the killers part to chase the injured survivor but I’ve gotten killed that way so many times that when I am a killer I’ll go after the farmer instead of the survivor I just hooked. Farming teammates are the worst.

BBQ is easily avoidable. They nerved the aura reading. Which makes it harder to see survivors that hide behind a gen. They are basically defeating the purpose of BBQ: killer leaving the hook, because he see´s someone else. Survivors which hide close to the hook or behind a gen, shouldn´t complain that the killer is camping. They gave him no reason to leave the hook.

It´s fun to play different killers. I hate to play always the same killers. It really gets boring in time. That´s why the devs should buff the other killers, so that there are more than 2 high tier killers.

The farming was worse when WGLF still had the 200% BP bonus. But some survivors still think that killers caused that nerf and want it buffed back. But that was madness. Survivors would race themselfes to the hook, farming their teammates without mercy.

There is a huge problem with buffing other killers to get them on “Nurse and Billy level”. Not every killer is physically possible to be that powerful. You will never see Bing Bong and Sleepy Boy on a higher tier level, their powers just don’t work that way. Not every killer needs that kind of a buff either. Myers and Huntress are balanced and top tier killers but do they need a buff so they can be on the same level as Nurse? Hell no, they are already stupidly powerful in most people’s hands. Trapper and Hag got a buff as well, they aren’t top tier like Nurse but they are much more viable in higher ranks than before. Some killers NEEDED a buff and some simply do not. You cannot have every killer on the level on Nurse. Just not possible. The only killer that REALLY needs a buff is Freddy.

So according to you Trapper is now top tier alongside Billy?

Devs need to buff the base kits of killers. They need to be able to be played without add-ons. Only Nurse and Billy are able to be played like this. Other killers are heavily dependant on add-ons.
I don´t want to spend 50.000-150.000 BPs on a random bloodweb, to be able to have 1 or 2 good rounds with a killer.

Did you not read what I said? I CLEARLY said “Trapper and Hag got a buff as well, they aren’t top tier like Nurse but they are much more viable in higher ranks than before.” They aren’t top tier but they are much better than before. They got a massive buffs to trap speeds and their perks. You will never have Trapper and Hag on the same level as the Nurse. Nurse can ignore walls and pallets and other game physics while other killers cannot. Billy is super mobile and can zoom around the map like no other killer can other than Nurse. You aren’t going to see Leatherface zooming around like Billy.

Making them more viable without add-ons would be great, but they’re simple baseline killers...they cannot be as viable as Nurse simple as that. What sort of buff would you give to ONLY Trapper to make HIM more viable for play that wouldn’t as benefit killers like Nurse?

Want trapper to be as viable as nurse? Let him take more traps with him without the need of add-ons. Let him reload his traps at lockers. Remove the rng from traps. Let the traps hold it's victim for 60 seconds. All this as base kit.
    Tadaa trapper on nurse lvl.
