Freddy isn't OP. People just like to suicide against him. Just like they liked to disconnect against him, back when he was released 2 years ago and when he effectively was the weakest killer in the roster.

That's always been like that when killers get insane buffs. Do you think that when omega nurse and prayers beads spirit were a thing those players played fair? No they tunneled at 5 gens bringing a mori aswelll.
Now even a trapper can win easily thanks to the new update so they are showing their true nature.
Luckily the player count is reflecting the state of the game as the game lost 10k avg players
Killers didn't get any buffs tho.

A favorites list would be nice.
Right now we have 6 pages worth of perks. So even when they are alphabetically some names are confusing. Who would search Nurses Calling under A?

I do my best to never BM when playing Killer or Survivor. WIth this update, I've had no desire to play Killer solely for the fact that I don't want to wonder which hits I actually deserved and which I didn't. Otherwise, I play Killer and Survivor equally. To be fair, I usually have TTV in my name because I'm a streamer. But something I've noticed since the last patch is that Killers have been much ruder and are more willing to BM than usual. I don't use the term "tunnel" lightly. But I've been quite legitimately been tunneled more often than usual since the Big Patch. I don't like using DS beause it's not a fun perk for me to use imo. But at this point, until it's nerf, I feel I'm going to have to use it. My main question is, is it just me who feels like Killers have been taking advantage of the desync issues and have been much ruder than usual because of it? Or have I just been getting unlucky?
I haven't noticed any difference in killer behavior.
Oh and you can calmly play killer. No need to worry what hits are deserved. As from the killers perspective, all hits are in the correct distance.

What perks on the survivor list got buffed several times? They literally ALL got nerfed.
BT, DS and Hook Sabotage got buffed. Being stronger than they were before the "nerf".

Survivors crying nerfs? I think you're mistaken.. Killers are the Kings of begging for nerfs.
Survivor Nerfs: Exhaustion -> Insta Heals -> Borrowed Time -> Balanced Landing -> Infinites -> Gen Speeds (Repair times, Toolboxes & Addons) -> Hook Saboing -> More Map Nerfs -> Decisive Strike (x50) -> Object of Obsession -> And now they're going after Dead Hard.
Killer Nerfs: Ruin, PGTW(15 seconds is hardly a nerf), Mori's, Undying (Even though it's now stronger with Huntress Lullaby and Devour Hope)
Nice how you put perks on the survivor nerf list, that got buffed several times.
-
Wow... the excuses people come up with, to justify a suicide. I guess it's easier to ask for nerfs than to adapt the own play style.
They really should introduce a DC penalty for hook suicides.
There is absolutely no excuse for suicide! Don't like the killer? Learn to play against him. Don't like a perk? Learn to play around it. Or do people honestly expect that avoiding any challenges will improve their game experience?
The last 2 days my matches as solo queue could be boiled down to: either we gen rushed the killer and he got 4 hooks by the time we finished the last gen or someone suicided for no reason and ruined the game for everyone else. There was literally nothing in between and it's tiresome.

The killer needed a single down and an entire generator would completely regress. That's not healthy.
Yeah, it's so much healthier what we have now. Where killers get 3 hooks by the time survivors complete 4 gens.

That’s not what I am indicating is scummy and I didn’t think I would have to explain what playing scummy means for either killer or survivor but figures on these forums.
I base my comments on what you write. You wrote, that killers played scummy by puppy guarding their perks and breaking chases.
Not my problem you write something else than what you actually mean.

Undying + Haunted Grounds. Solved your dilemma
Have you ever tried going full hex build? Its amazing. Especially against SWF. See 4 totems lit up at the same time and enjoy losing all perks within seconds.
-
@th3 said:
Even with a perk combo promoting “healthy gameplay” killers still played scummy as hell. Even if it was just “do totems lazy survivors it’s just that easy” the killer just puppy guarded their totems every time an aura appeared even when chasing someone on the opposite side of the map. What I think this resulted in is a bunch of boosted killers who now are complaining about gen speed cause they can’t use up to 4 ruins. Pity this can’t happen with survivor perks, hopefully ds fixes that.
So killers stopped tunneling and instantly broke a chase to protect one of their perks and that is scummy.

Because there's no point. If I said yes, you wouldn't believe it. If I said no, you would think it makes your point.

No It didn't. You can still get the same effect. You just don't get to force Ruin to be broken up to 4 times. Add to that Devour needing to be broken twice and they definitely got a fair trade off.
Nah, not a good deal. Undying is now worse than Haunted Grounds. Do you see a lot of killers running Devour with Haunted Grounds?

Undying/Ruin did not promote healthy game play. If you were on a map that totems were hard to find it mad the game miserable. The new version is pretty balanced. Add in the extra potential of things like Devour and Lullaby and I think the trade off was pretty fair.
Wait what? Undying Ruin not being a healthy gameplay? Killer had to pressure survivors to get any benefit from it. Pressuring survivors means he´s not camping. The tradeoff basically killed the perk.

Dude. For the past week I went down from Rank 3 to Rank 10 by escaping tons of matches and depiping 2 points each time I got out.
Luckily I stopped giving a ######### about rank years ago so water off my back, in fact it was pretty awesome because now I'm slumming in the Green ranks and facing killers closer to my actual skill level. Sure I am also getting a lot of potato teammates but you can't have them all.
Playing at lower ranks is better than high ranks. It's less sweaty and a hell of a lot more fun.
Problem is, the survivor pip issue will be fixed soon. The killer pip issue has been like this since the release of emblems.
Emblems don´t take the different killers and their powers into account.
-

Its not the hitboxes. Its desync.
-
Most survivors are complaining about the hitbox (desync) issues we have right now. But once those are fixed, we´re stuck with 4 minute matches. Yesterday i played 2 matches as killer and 20+ as survivor. The only ones that took longer than 5 minutes, where the matches were someone disconnected or suicided. Gen speed truly is ridiculous and most of the time, survivors have completed 4 gens by the time the killer got his third hook.
So yeah, survivors can now enjoy the gen repair simulator. I wonder how long it takes until they complain how boring it is.
-
Well the devs nerfed Undying, because totems were to hard to do. With no incentive to do something else than gens, survivors focus on them and finish matches in record time.
I've been getting 3 and 4 man escapes all day as solo survivor. The only time killers get more kills, is when someone disconnects or suicides.
The desync problem that so many people complain about, will be resolved by next week and then killers are left behind with the insane gen speeds we have.
-
I mean, sure. Since the patch, I've been getting constantly 3 or 4 man escapes as solo survivor. Killers only get more kills when someone suicides on the first hook.
And all of this with the desync issue, that will probably be fixed by the next week. Once that's gone, killers are left with ridiculous quick matches.

ruin,noed, and devour hope:am i a joke to you
Yes, they are a joke to me.
Ruin: can be easily ignored. Since it has no real effect unless the killer forces the survivors off the gen and keeps them from coming back.
NOED: a endgame perk, that is inactive during the longest period of the match and which can be disabled in seconds once it spawns. Just treat the killer like you were injured.
Devour Hope: a perk that only gives stacks, when the killer doesn't camp. With the current game speed, killers get usually 3 or 4 hooks, by the time the survivors complete 4 gens. Survivors don't heal up and instead prefer to repair gens while injured. So what's the difference of being exposed anyway?
-
No hex perk is strong enough to justify being a hex perk.

Killers are cry babies. They complain a lot. This is the reason this game it's not fun anymore. Devs are stressed out by how much killers are complaining about everything, and devs decided to make the game easier for them and harder for survivors. If the killer don't make 4k he/she starts to cry on this forum.
You mean when the devs nerfed Undying hard, because totems are to hard to do?
-
Oh the irony, when there are 7 threads on the first page alone, where survivors complain about the state of the game.
But sure, it´s only the killers that complain.

Survivor is unplayable. Played a few killer games, but the performance of the game has gone into the toilet since the update. There's so much hitching I feel like I can barely even move as killer now.
So long story short: there's little to no enjoyment currently. I've been playing mostly other games and I suppose will be until the movement and sync issues have been resolved.
So you say survivor is unplayable, yet you say that you barely can move as killer. You sure it´s only the survivor side that is unplayable?
-
By rushing gens like crazy. Btw, the hitboxes are fine. It seems to be a desync.

I agree but there are many killers who use both at every opportunity, even if they're not losing any gens at all. Some do it basically every game just because they can.
I'm not saying it's wrong of them to do so or anything but I have some considerations for survivor's fun when it comes to changes that affect early game pacing which can make blind mindless tunneling/camping stronger.
What about killers fun? Survivors complain about getting tunneled and that they die after 4 minutes. What about those matches where all gens are completed in 4 minutes?
-

That's just your experience at high ranks playing SWF.
That is certainly not what the average DBD match looks like.
I play solo at red ranks. It certainly is what my average match looks like. The only time the killer gets more than 1 kill, is when someone suicides on the first hook.
-
@Kebek said:
I bet they're planning to make it 2 hooks in 4 gens. 3-4 is too much and kill rates are too high because of that.
But seriously, if they change the pacing of the match to favor killer more, tunneling/camping would be made more powerfull as well. We need a change that can help with the pacing while not buffing tunneling/camping.
I think killers that felt confident enough and not pressured by the gen speed, would camp and tunnel less.
-
@Mooks said:
They are probably keeping track of this kind of info since a long time. They have definitely more access to match details than just what the player has visible on the HUD.
and i am pretty sure on average, gens don’t fly by so fast. I get plenty of killer matches where less gens get completed overall and I am a very very bad killer player. Those matches would still count towards the statistics though.
For example, just had my daily as Oni on the Underground Complex. I got 3 hooks before the first gen was completed. End of the match = 1 kill, because survivors pushed gens instead of healing. This certainly isn´t a healthy gen speed. I mean, the devs nerfed healing in an attempt to slowdown gens. Now survivors don´t heal untill the gen is completed or even stay injured untill all are done, because they have Adrenaline.

Totally normal behavior.
-
Oh cool, a key buff. Exactly what we needed

-
So... why are you blaming the killer, when survivors suicide on hook, the moment they don´t like the map/killer/weather or whatever crazy reason they come up with? Blame your teammates!
-
I read that twice now and still fail to understand why you are leaving.
-
Nah, this has been going on for longer. They introduced the DC penalty to prevent that and people switched to hook suicides.
Whenever i play against Freddy, it is almost guaranteed, that someone goes straight for the killer to get downed, hooked and suicides.
Which kinda explains some of the ridiculous kill rates.

It should have come out with the last rank reset. But was postponed. Probably due to well... the issues we have right now.

I´ve honestly given up on getting envelopes in the bloodweb. My bloodweb looks exactly the same. 1 envelope at most. If there´s a firecracker or a toolbox, then not even that. Switched to Appraisal to get a higher chance of finding something in the chests aaaaand found 5 normal toolboxes and a medkit.
Shouldn´t the chances of event items be much higher? I still have a bloodweb on nurse from an older event with 6 event boxes.

I understand that it is desync issues and that MOST of these hits look completely normal to killers.
Perhaps you don't know exactly which issue I am referencing. Have you experienced it yourself? I myself haven't personally experienced the pallet vacuum hit as killer, but I have witnessed my boyfriend experience it as killer while sitting next to him as he played. It did not look normal at all, and even if it somehow did, it would have been extremely confusing to suddenly be on the other side of the pallet. I'm not sure how a pallet vacuum hit could look normal to ANY killer, considering what you said could not apply. If the killer's perspective shows him getting hit by the pallet from too far away for it to stun, then shouldn't he still be on the same side of the pallet, opposite of the side that the survivor is when he threw it? Instead, some killers are ending up on the same side of the survivor instead of the opposite side, as if the pallet pulled/vacuumed them from the side they originally stood on, all the way to the other side of the pallet. This is not normal and it is visibly abnormal to both killer and survivor.
I had that once.

Just replying to the '#########' as a killer. I have gotten MANY hits playing killer lately that make me go '#########'. I hit a David after he was already running 5 feet away from a window vault. I hit a Nancy when she was behind me and I swung, and CLEARLY missed.
Haven´t had any hits like this. But had window hits, where on my side the survivor was just passing and he landed like 3 meters away from the window. So that might have looked weird from the survivors perspective.
I also noticed something like this with SB while playing survivor. Another survivor was blitzing around. But only for a second.

Sorry, I'm not completely sure if I understand exactly what you're saying?
When I've gotten the pallet vacuum hits, it's been something like, I'm outside of shack, killer is in shack. He starts lunging from inside shack but I throw the pallet down in time to stun him without taking the hit... normally. But, in this patch, while he DOES get stunned, I get hit anyways, AND he teleports outside of shack where I am standing. This is what I'm talking about as far as something both the survivor and killer can see and say "this happening is very abnormal"
Perhaps you are talking about stunning killers from further away? Oddly enough, I haven't run into many instances of that, despite the fact that I am currently dropping pallets earlier than I usually do in an attempt to counter the current desync issues. It's not what I'm talking about, that's actually a fairly normal occurrence in usual versions of the game if you go against a laggy killer. I just haven't ever really seen the other stuff before.
As said above. There is currently a desync. So the killer hits you, when you are far from him, from your perspective. While you are in normal range from the killers perspective. The pallet hits also work in a desync, where it looks normal from the survivors perspective, but from the killers perspective it looks like getting hit with the pallet from 2 meters away.

Tsulan, I am happy for you that you don't have an issue with the new update, but a lot of people are rightfully fed up:
- The new UI has been criticized as counterproductive etc before it even hit the PTB. But instead of changing it (not even BACK, just changing the layout and icons, that was all people asked) the devs pushed it through and are now clambering to do some damage control, after pretty much lying to our faces about how they cannot change it back.
- The new animations are as counterproductive to the gameplay as is the 'new' UI. DbD is a game where having the movement end when the animation ends is not a good idea because you often have to react quickly.
All in all people are angry that bhvr seems more focused on pleasing some investors that have never played a game in their lives by making the game LOOK great and REALISTIC (read that with as much vitriol as you can msuter) but at the costs of making the game unplayable because the look (and its performance cost) hinder the actual gameplay.
Add to that the general sense of the devs mocking the community at every turn, the general lack of communication, etc and... people absolutely have a right to leave for good.
There are games that have a smaller team, a massively bigger playerbase and yet run better, look better and are more fun. Just they are a different genre. BHVR should honestly not be rewarded for the shoddy, uncaring demeanour they display towards the community.
See? Thats actual feedback. Not what OP wrote, where everyone has to take a wild guess on whats wrong.
Most people agree with what you said and the devs themselves announced that they are reworking the UI. So all we have to do now is wait for the upcoming patches.
