I play mostly on killer side, and I have to agree with survivor players… The Ghoul is broken and needs at least tweaking and/or nerfing
-
Sounds more like "You"-problem than game/BHVR problem. Get a better internet connection. Or stop ragequitting so often. 24h ban doesn't happen just like that…
-
Yup… Can't even download the update.

Thanks for flagging this! We're investigating this right now.
Can't even download the patch… XBox gives only error message "0x8B050033" and if you try to find updates, XBox says there are 0 updates for downloading

Only because of his perks. Nothing more

Thanks for the replies.
Not camping, the hits were in and around shack as survivors tried to save the one on hook.
No hits in basement at all. Closest was a second hit on stairs the rest went down outside shack.
Who knows?
Sounds like anti-camp

He just said it was fixed in the latest ptb. On video, go watch DStrike
Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it live. There have been many instances where BHVR have said they fixed something in the PTB, when they actually weren't

I have seen a video on the most recent PTB which did include an improvement of scratchmarks with a side by side comparison.
So don't worry it's happening :)
I believe they have fixed when I see it. Knowing BHVR's track record on "fixes", I'm not holding my breath

They are rather strong most killers just can't capitalize off them well
Hex builds are a "high risk-high reward" type of builds. Especially if they include Pentimento. Most of the time they become useless because survs find the first totems at the very beginning of the game. But when they fail to find them at first half of the match, then they become somewhat strong.
Hex builds rely so much on RNG for totem spawns, which you cannot control, fortunately.

While this is good news as a whole, I have been in these forums for so long to know that, as soon as they are starting work on these QoL changes, many start to complain about the lack of content.
Mark the time when I said it, and come back to this in the summer…

Adding Legion to this gamemode was a big mistake

Pretty low quality, actually. You can tell it's weekend again when these kinds of posts start to emerge

I just came back to the game, and I realized that I can't Dead Hard for distance, there aren't any infinites anymore, and my insta heal didn't heal me immediately. Don't tell me that Mettle of Man isn't a free health state anymore too?? This game sucks!!
Lol….

killer at 5 do 11 12 and 1 is a basic example that is already strong, especially against stealth killers.
Where it really starts to get crazy is when you coordinate items, perks and offerings in a manner that does not occur in soloQ on any consistent basis.
A lot of people, almost everyone in soloQ seems to forget (or ignore) is the pre-game chat that allows even random groups to coordinate on a level higher than the average soloQ group that does not communicate at all. It's a possibility that I see rarely used outside from memeposting and the occasional "Bring BPS".
The community somehow collectively decided to come up with terms for "slugging", "tunneling", "genrushing", for the sake of communicating patterns and actions but somehow failed to come up with an effective pre-game communication model to coordinate perk setups and strategies. What some of them got down to a tee however is the endgame chat freakout. That goes without thinking.
The possibility is there, think about it.
Everybody just hits ready (or not), going into the match with a preset plan (or not) and everyone is left guessing if you even equipped any perks at all or if you're going for a sabo build.
There is a reason the Killer cannot communicate with the survivors in the pre-game chat, but he can do so in the post-game chat.
If the community could somehow come up with an effective way of communicating the most basic strategies in the pre-game lobby they could at once go into the match with more information and could make adjustments accordingly (if they at all can).
If the group can spend the entire minute effectively then they should already be at a better place than before.
FYI Consoles do not have pre-, or endgame chat

Did you complete the invocation while Thrilling Tremors was active and blocking all the gens except the main building? Blocked gens are not capable of receiving the charge reduction from Weaving Spiders.
Thrilling Tremors hadn't progged by that time.

I will share two of mine.
- Lights Out 2.0 was a secret user test by BHVR to check how the community felt about increasing the anti-face camp radius. My perception is that barely anyone seemed to play the mode, both in v1.0 and v2.0. It does not make sense to me why they would bring it back unless they wanted to test our reaction somehow.
- On some level, Dead by Daylight secretly matches you based on the perks you have selected when you initiate matchmaking and NOBODY has caught onto this yet! You cannot convince me otherwise.
- When I play normal DBD, barely anyone runs Kindred. It's not that popular of a perk.
- When I play Kindred, suddenly everyone on the entire planet is running Kindred. I am being serious. The game must recognize that I have Kindred, and then pair me with other people who have the perk intentionally. My advice to anyone who is upset at playing SoloQ Survivor is just to run Kindred because it "fixes" matchmaking and pairs you with survivors that are also running the perk — games feel waaay different.
- If you don't believe me, test it for yourself! Track 10 games with and without Kindred in your build.
Skull Merchant was originally supposed to be Predator, but they missed the license
Chaos Shuffle throws only off-meta perks so that people would use them more instead BHVR having to nerf them
-
Aaah. It's weekend again, I see
-
Playing right now. The queue times are almost instant with survivor
-
What do you mean there's no changes??? Of course there is compared to last time…. This time the perks were at level 3 from the beginning
This is joke, btw

How long/how many years have you been playing DBD?
If previous years of gameplay are included then I feel like many players supposed most played characters of 2024 are going to be incorrect. Interestingly, the hous, hooks and escapes definitely aren't counting prior to the year.
I've been playing about 4-5 years. I did start the game playing mostly Claudette, though. But the stats were supposed (to my knowledge) be about last year, not the whole career
-
@JPLongstreet said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/437007/dbd-stats-are-all-wrong
For the hours part, I believe they only add up actual gameplay time, and not spent in menus or lobbies.
And I'm guessing it's also excluding event based matches
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
Apparently my most used survivor is Claudette, who I barely ever play, because I am a Sable main.
Wraith is apparently my most used killer, who I do play regularly, but nowhere near as much as I played Nemesis.
I also know my playtime from my platform's annual wrap-up which are way higher than what the email suggests.
And I've apparently escaped HALF my survivor matches, which I would love to be the case but I play solo survivor so I'm sorry but that's not even close.
Has anyone else found their stats don't match reality?
Same was with me. On a survivor side, I played mostly Nea, because she has the most anniversary cakes and I'm trying to get her to be my first P100 character.
-
I got mine, and something seems off with my stats. It says that my most played survivor is Claudette, even though I have been mostly playing as Nea last year, because I've collected over 200 anniversary cakes for her, and I'm leveling her to be my first P100 character
-
YES! Now that you mention it, I'm baffled that this game doesn't already have one
-
Event lurkers came back again. They're usually very dirty players
-
No.
-
-
Seriously…
-
I've only played a handful of games as a Huntress, and I think the hitbox is inconsistent. Sometimes you need to hit exactly and sometimes it feels like it hits half away from the map
-
Because it would be highly abusable mechanic
-
@PleaseRewind said:
This just seems a case of "A perk worked against me, so it must be deleted from the game".
Pretty much… And truth be told, if the survivor hasn't realized after the first time they get hit after gen kick, the blame is on the survivor alone.
Even I do realize when the killer is using NTH when they come to me right after the gen kick. It's so obvious
-
More probable to BHVR add WWE and The Undertaker as a killer, than Disney with their SW license
-
Oh, God no…
-
How long will it take to send the mail?
-
Not to mention the fact that BHVR has never clarified what the official terms of "win" are.
But yeah, you're absolutely right on the nose about how people tend to mix kill rate and win rate, when they are two completely different subjects
-
As someone, who was raised with Commodore 64 in the 80's, and 90's internet connection, 5 minutes is a cakewalk. People are way too impatient these days

Hi, I wish to add information I've found:
Upon encountering this bug in the Bone Chill event, I used a snowpile AND used it to make a snowman. Afterwards the bug was fixed and I could place traps again. This occurred on Springwood Elementary.
When it happened to me, I didn't even picked up a snowpile. It was bugged from the get-go,. But yeah, I was also playing in Bone Chill lobby

I just realized something. Bear with me, I'm going somewhere with this one.
When I play killer, the pattern with matchups has, for the last while been something like:
Survior 1: 10k hours. Absolute beast. I cannot catch them unless I force an engagement somewhere weak.
Survivor 2: 1-3k hours. Intermediate player. I can catch them but I have to work for it.
Survivors 3 and 4: 300-500 hours a piece. Low intermediate. I generally roll over them.
So we have 1 survivor that outclasses me and has about triple my hours. 1 who is about right. 2 who struggle.
Now this isn't the SBMM rant you expect - it's more…I can't think of many games where, at 500 hours played, I'd still consider myself a near beginner. Not even games like Starcraft 2 or League.
What is it about DbD that makes it like this, where the learning curve is a vertical wall and the skill floor is sky high?
Is there some way to make it a little more accessible?
Two points: SWF, and the fact that BHVR prioritizes queue times over balanced matches. In my opinion, if a killer goes against SWF, the MMR should prioritize the level of the highest survivor player. If one survivor is a high MMR player, then the system should take into account the killer player that is in the same bracket

Don't bother to do a ticket if you're on a console. It's a complete hassle. Just do a in-game report and move on
-
-
Too many questions were a bit vague. Most of the times I was just "In what context do you mean?" Especially on the questions about slugging
-
I might be wrong, but usually when a new map is released, the game does boost the chances of that certain realm to be selected. Since Ormond now has two maps, it lowers the chance of the new map to appear

Been a while since I saw one of these posts. Short version:
- 99.9% of these threads boil down to 'x thing that I want changed about the game is why the numbers are dropping'. In this case, boilerplate balancing whinge.
- The player count is relatively consistent over time, but does wax and wane.
- DbD is basically 100 years old in videogame time.
- The cause is an aging game, the release of another incredibly successful PvP game (Marvel Rivals) and just standard fluctuation.
DbD will continue for a long time yet, but will eventually end. The sky is not falling.
Exactly

The player base changes all the time. Its not plummeting. It usually drops a little bit anyways around December. Also, you know steam charts don't take into account from the players on Playstation, Xbox and Switch right? There are A LOT of console players.
Not to mention those who play via EGS and Microsoft GamePass. If you count the approximate playerbase along all platforms, the player count might be somewhere 100k concurrent players
-
Wouldn't be the first time they killswitched an event offering
-
@CautionaryMary said:
I find that early on in the events it's usually chill, but the later the event goes on — the more you find people who "sweat".
Additionally, there are people who try to play the event in a "nice" way and then get completely steamrolled on survivor/killer. These killers/survivors then queue up and take the game more seriously, causing the little cyclical tournament style of gameplay you find.
At the end of the day, one side wants to win so you have both sides equally sweating unless the other party makes it absolutely obvious that they want to have some sort of snowball fight or whatever. 😊
Funny. I usually find it the other way around. Usually (to me) it looks like the basement dwelling event lurkers are most active during the first half of the event. And when they've gotten all of their event tomes done, they go back into hiding to wait for the next event. Which usually means games turn into more on the chill side.

Same issue on XBox. First I had the BP's back couple of times, but now they're just gone
