Most basic slowdown build is his best build. But also I run save the best for last, since his ability is bad at the moment. But assuming if he stays in the current ptb form, which I think they will change something but I don't know what, but I doubt they will release him in this ptb form. But if he stays in his PTB form for the most part it would allow more varied build since he would much stronger. But I also think iron madden is good on him. But just the basic slowdown ruin, and pop. Or something like that for now.

And then you have 2-man gen goers that let one person lure the Zombie 5 feet away because they are dumb as a box of rock. Singular.
Regardless he is the only killer that has that gen pressure in the game at the moment. Still taking time away from doing gens.

You can't get an anniversary crown on Nemesis so anyone doing the event won't play him.
Also, he's just an average Killer nothing super special. I would expect him to have a similar pickrate to Demo
Nothing special... Yet the only killer in the game with AI helping him XD
He has the best build in map pressure arguably, since the zombies can kick people off gens.
-
I don't think his ptb state is going to be the final state that they will update him with. I feel he needs a little changes, since in the open it's hard to make a play. I think maybe he needs a cooldown when he injures a person with his knifes, so the person could run to cover. But he is A tier since he can handle himself vs most decent to good teams.

You still will need to pick it up to use it, if the killer realizes (as in the pickup animation) you dropped it, they'll make a point in watching that area, and chase you off from grabbing it back up. It takes just one smack on the survivor in a chase down.
Most killer don't really pay attention to that detail honestly lol. Unless they are real sweaty, or attentive.

Sprint burst is actually less of a problem than dead hard. But this is also a different discussion, but yes hold w is a problem that needs to be addressed as well. Hold w is more of a fundamental game problem, whereas deadhard is a single perk.
I could make the same case for NOED. It's a problem because a no skill killer that gets 1 hook during the game, they should not have a perk that allows for insta-downs at the end of the game. Without survivors being able to know if the individual has the perk or not.
See how the same could be said about that perk, but I'm not since people should be able to use whatever perk they want.
-

It's just so much better than the rest of the exhaustion perks because it has no downside in comparison to the others. Dead harding to dodge a hit is fine but the "dead hard for distance" can extend a chase far more than any other exhaustion perk and has no counter. For example, right now we have:
- Sprint Burst
- Sprint burst can only be activated at the start of a chase, meaning the killer can break off of the chase and just go after someone else, or try to cut the survivor off somehow. In order to make it usuable in a chase, it must be 99'd, however then you can't do ANYTHING, because if you stop to heal, do a gen etc. you now ready it. Additionally you have to walk everywhere if you want to hold onto it, making you slower outside of the chase
- Lithe
- This one requires you to vault something, which means you aren't necessarily being efficient in a loop. If you want to hold onto lithe in a chase, you have to drop a pallet, which is a limited resource and carries it's own risks. Additionally, once you know the survivor has lithe, you can play around it and know now that they WANT to go through the vault, so you can loop a different way, or cut them off early since you know what their plan is.
- Smash Hit
- Unless the pallet is some really unsafe pallet, getting stunned is already a chase ender. This perk just makes getting pallet stunned to be even more of a chase ender. additionally it requires you to actually drop a pallet and get a stun. Both of which can be played around, as a killer, i can respect the pallet, and back off. Then when they see i do that, and just keep running i can react to that and no longer respect the pallet, creating our own little mindgame around it. Trying to go for a pallet stun can also be risky for a lot of different reasons depending on the killer
- Balanced Landing
- Balanced only works on a few parts of most maps, outside of that it is very map dependent. This means it won't always be readily available to you, and you are stuck to staying around a certain area if you want to use this perk, otherwise you might not get a chance to use it. Also, similar to Lithe, the killer can play around it, it becomes pretty obvious when you are going for that hill, which otherwise would be useless and actually bad for you.
- Head on
- Head on can't really be used in a chase unless paired with other perks. Additionally it gives you less distance than most other exhaustion perks. It's main extra function is that you can stun the killer that is carrying a survivor.
- Adrenaline
- I'd say the main function of this perk isn't really exhaustion related and is mostly done for the heal and the quick getaway. It also can only activate once per game and also only at the endgame, so it can't really be used to extend a chase.
- Dead Hard
- Then we come to dead hard. In theory the downside of dead hard is that it requires you to be injured. But in practice, this isn't actually a downside. Unlike the other main exhaustion perks, in which you give up some level of efficiency in one area to gain efficiency in another, dead hard has nothing but gains. If you are being chased, you are likely going to be injured at some point, meaning it has no downside. Additionally, you can activate it whenever you want, this is the only perk (outside of head on) that you can perfectly control when it activates. All of the others have some sort of condition that you need to play around or achieve in order to activate. Dead hard is just "press e". Dead hard for dodging a hit is actually fine, and has counterplay, just bait the dead hard, and then swing. Dead hard for distance though, has no counter, they just round a corner, press e, and suddenly they are at a pallet or window they otherwise would not have been able to make it to. There is literally no counterplay around that.
Ideally, to fix dead hard, i would do 1 of 2 things:
- Make it so you can't control exactly when it activates
- Make it so it actually has a downside.
If we want to make it have a downside, i would make it such that using it gives you a debuff that makes it take twice as long for you to be healed for like 60-90 seconds or something. This way it has an actual downside, as a killer, if i see someone dead hard, i now can drop chase with them and be confident that they are either going to be out of the game for a little while trying to heal somewhere, or that the next time i see them i can be sure that they will already be injured.
Another thing that could be done is changing what it does and how it activates. Since it is about being injured, what i would do is make it increase your movement speed when you get hit. This would be similar to what it is like when you get hit and use sprint burst at the same time, you get a super speed boost for a few seconds. If dead hard worked like this, then it has a downside, in that you CAN'T use it while injured. This means that if i drop chase now, again, i can be confident that you are going to spend some time off of the gens to heal, or on the flipside, if i run into you again injured, i can be sure that you DON'T have dead hard now.
If dead hard gets nerfed I'm very confident you would want sprint burst to get nerfed 🙄 knowing what you think about survivors running. Anyway most survivors don't know how to use DH strongly enough, which is why DH is the most overrated perk in this game.
- Sprint Burst
-
I think dead hard is over rated, only completive survivors is DH a strong perk but for the average player sprint burst is a much better choice. But I don't want to get nerfed. The reason being is because I know if dead hard gets nerfed, you guys are gonna try to get sprint burst nerfed. I'm 100% sure of that. Because everyone who is using DH is going to use sprint burst if it gets nerfed. And since you got people complaining about survivors running, sprint burst is going to be the next on you nerfing list. BUT I do belief that dead hard should not work on trappers trap, that is one thing that needs to be nerfed.

Thats why my counter is the best. The person that brings the key will absolutely not get to use it. Wish more killers took this approach, people might stop bringing keys
if you mean slugging then I get you. But if I usually hide it in the beginning, I prefer a chest. So if I go down others can hopefully find it and use it.

Theres probably going to be more, this is just a step in the right direction, now that you can actually counter keys with perks like franklins

People just feel powerless. There is not much you can do in the open. So people get frustrated.

To try out Trickster's changes.
Survivors should be expecting to against Trickster seeing as he's the main highlight of the PTB.
If you're disconnecting against a Trickster as soon as you go down, you probably shouldn't go into pub matches on the PTB.
I'm going to be honest. I think they over did the buffs. In the open it legit feels like I can't do nothing. I saw a lot of survivors dc vs him. It's going to be hard for them to buff him. Even twitch killers are having a lot DC during the ptb. A power rework may be the only thing that won't make him oppressive in the open. And even I like playing the trickster, but he feels to powerful when you are far from any cover.
-
If you mean any rank below 10 then it would not surprise me. Since you yourself said it, a bunch of new players who play the only way they could to get downs, and hooks.

In the video you can clearly see my projectiles are blocked for no reason at all, and at the shack, in ANY other shack variation (other than autoheaven maps) deathslinger AND trickster can shot/throw their projectiles into the little gaps of the shack covered windows, but in this variation I cannot, these hitboxes needs to be adressed.
Thank you
One of the mods already said this was only intended for nemesis. That they were aware of this and that she had told the devs so they could fix this, and for deathslingers well.
-
Can't be done since I doubt Sony would allow it. And you do realize they would have to release 2 version each time a PTB is released. It's easier to do it on steam since we can switch it up to the regular version and the PTB version. Even window Xbox, and stadia don't have the PTB.
-
More points. Once the event is over, expect the que return to normal. It's much easier to get points as a killer than as a survivor. as killer you can get nearly 200k blood points, so you cans see why more people are playing killer.
-
Probably because maybe they are trying to get their crowns. But yeah I agree I had matches were everyone brings a cake but they wanna finish the gens in less then 5 minutes, like don't they want more points?

Hate to tell you. But that's exactly what games do eventually. And even companies themselves. Games stopped supporting PS3 at some point. As did Sony itself. The same will happen for PS4. The same will happen for PS5 someday. No refunds given. Just because you bought it for a particular platform. PS4 is outdated and some day. Probably sooner then you'd like. There will be no support for it
Yeah we know that at some point they will stop supporting the old console systems. But the problem with this is that the current gen of systems has been out for less then a year, and even to this day you can't walk into your local Walmart or best buy and buy the Xbox x or Ps5. As a matter of fact you can't easily buy it anywhere to this day. And lets say that a person wants to buy a pc, well what if they have everything unlocked and have 100s of hours they can't transfer their data from a console to a pc. And I'm very confident the majority of the people who play this game are on old consoles systems. So imagine if they stop proving content to the largest player base. Now I would get if they stop updating the game if the the current gen of system was out for like 4 or 5 years, at that point it makes sense but this early in the game naw, it would be better if they fix the stuttering issues on the old systems.
-
I'm pretty sure last gens consoles make up the largest player base. Not enough current gen systems out, and most are still hard find. And not everyone likes pc, or can't afford it. So in other words why should people not get any more content if the new systems are nearly impossible to get a hold, it's not their fault. Plus Sony and Microsoft already said they will keep supporting last gen consoles. If the PS5 ands the new Xbox were out for like 5 years then I guess they could have a case to stop supporting the ps4 and xbox s.
-
Well I know you want decision making advice. But I have to say this demo is not a killer you can play without having some gen defense, I know that you have discordance. But it's not workable alone with demo, for example if you had ruin or pop you could have prevented 2 gens from being completed. I also noticed that keep looking when you were about to pick up, but you did not have to since you downed the person with a flashlight. My other suggestion would be to keep hooking in most scenarios like in the 3 clip, you keep slugging and if I'm being honest slugging only works in certain scenarios, or with certain killers. You probably would have gotten more downs if you hooked, and got them while they were rescuing.

sounds like bad trickster, you might be from a region where all the tricksters are garbage. for example in my region i dont see any hillbilly's but presumably in Australian server there are plenty. but it makes sense that ur biased when the only thing you see is tricksters failing good on you. i have seen a way different picture.
Not biased, read my first post on this thread. I literally said I feel that if they buff him greatly he would be too OP. Because I do understand it can be annoying to get hit for what seems for ever with knifes and if it was too be a low number of require knifes he would be top tier. And I looped pretty good tricksters. He is oppressive in the open and if you're running in a straight line, or trying to loop him in a short loop. But once you know how to loop high tiles, trickster ability is basically useless. And he essentially becomes a 110% killer. I'm the least biased person on this thread I speak fairly for both sides. And you do realize they said his kill-rate was the lowest. This is what they said on their latest developer update "Reviewing the data, The Trickster tends to fall on the lower end of the roster (even among the top few percent of Trickster players), so we feel comfortable making some improvements to him to bring him up a few spots". Basically his kill-rate is the lowest which is why is getting a buff.

This. He reminds me of Sangwoo from Killing Stalking. Totally normal and likeable on the outside, charming even but notorious serial killer on the side.
Other than him I'd sayyy:
Myers because he's Myers
Oni because he scary and could technically just outright kill anyone in one club swing. His story is just insane brutality after brutality.
And Doctor because he's pure evil and enjoys torturing his victims slowly / seems to have never had any morality EVER and that's scary.
Most famous people are pretty horrible personality wise. Especially in that thing, a bunch of fake personalities.

@coldestwinter123 said:
idk what you guys are smoking, his 1v1 is pretty oppressive i'd say even slightly too strong. His major issue is what allot of killers have , and that's having map pressure.
Main reason why someone like Wraith is doing well is because he can move around the map fast and apply pressure.
The only issue i can say that he has in a 1v1 is if you have came out of a chase and haven't reloaded, sometimes you need to go through 2 health states with knives. In those very specific scenario's is the only time the knives are not just super oppressive.
There are maps like Larry's or sometimes you can get in a rut in like The Game, Hawkins is kinda meh depending on RNG.
if you proxy camp you can do some insane plays with Main event, or even just with ur power easily one of the rare killers who can turn a trade in to a 2 down situation.
Its fine if you guys say trickster is weak, because a 4.4m killer with a poor map pressure is not a good mix, but u guys are smoking pure crack if you think his 1v1 is "mediocre"
Looped him for 5 gens a couple of times. Yep he so oppressive that nearly every time out the few rare ones I seen, they always seem to lose the match by a 4 or 3 man escape. I only lost 3 matches to a trickster 😂, but he is a strong 1v1.
-
@Gruul said:
Physically it's oni, I know it's regular gameplay but for some reason when I pallet stun him and he goes into demon mode in response and charges at me it's a very "I regret my recent choices" moment.
Mentally mirror myers on an indoor map is agonizing even when nothing is happening around me because it could change any second and it's always a high anxiety game when that happens.
Yeah it's pretty horrifying to see a oni charging at you. But I gone up against scratch myers, but since I almost always run spine chill they can't surprise me. Huntress is scary since I been down half across the map by her hatchets. And her humming especially if you are the last person is scary.
-
I don't see the point of hoarding cakes if one might not even be playing next year.
-
Because he is stuck in a bad spot. If he gets a significant buff, it would make him to powerful. Or if they make him 115%. So he is stuck in the extreme, he is going to be the weakest killer in the game, which he currently is. Or if they buff him significantly he would be a top killer that a good portion of the player base would hate to go against. So best scenario is they make him at at least a mid-tier killer.

Honestly part of me really wants to get Trickster, I'm already used to losing, i'm just worried that his power may get stale
His power if fun. But be warned if you play with a controller his ability may not be usable since on the controller when throwing blades for some reason it feels like it has more recoil. On pc you can throw knifes and they land much more often. Also if you don't have many hours of experience on this game, trickster may be hard to use for newer players. A lot of people with 1000s of hours struggle with him vs good loopers. So it's not only that trickster loses a lot it's that in some game I may get one or two hooks. Since you just become a 110% killer if the person is a good looper. But I saw you talking about oni, his power is not similar to billys it's more easier to maneuver. Overall I would say with oni you need to have some knowledge with tiles as well, since you need to hit survivors to get orbs to active your ability. But overall oni is not a pushover he can handle himself vs strong teams. I won games with him zero gen defense other than discordance.
-
It really depends on your preferred playstyle. And if you don't mind losing, or just care about getting a 4k. Personally spirit is the strongest she usually can get a couple of downs. But hag is more of a territorial killer similar to trapper, but she is very strong. The trickster is weak but he it's the closes thing you will get in this game to using a machine gun, but as I said tho the trickster is the weakest killer in the game so good loopers will make you go crazy. Oni is pretty fun and pretty good. Twins is one of the most boring killer in the game tbh, but if you like going fast and downing people that my be your style. And wraith is fun if you like a fast running killer. Mind this is all my opinion, not yours. I, me personally the trickster and oni out your list are my favorite killers.
-
Yep could not have said it any better.
-
Bad perk that is only worth running with iron with a med-kit. And plus to top the icing on the cake It's a 60 second perk, while I'm not against limited timed or one time use perks. I really am not a fan of a perk that needs to paired up with other perks to work well.
-
I personally think it's a low ram issue. Since my old computer only had 8gb ram, and this game would run horribly. I would suffer from stuttering based on the map such as lerrys the middle room. Basically all the issue old console gens suffer from. And thankfully I bought another 8gb ram stick on my old pc, and what do you know my those issues stopped. Since old console gens have 8gb as well.
-
Not only that I seen trolls using buba to exclusively face camp, more then I ever had in the past. I'm telling you some people just wanna troll and ruin the experience for us trying to earn a lot of points 😂

I believe its unnecessary, the perk at the moment can still be used in an aggressive way and it still has a VERY strong effect at the end of the day.
Survivors also have many other perks to combat tunneling.
Not really DS is the only anti-tunnel perk in the game at the moment honestly. I personally like in it's current form. I think 1 per match is acceptable. You can't say BT because it's not in your power.
-
Personally I wanted a perk, or in game mechanic that would make survivors move at 5% slower when injured. It would be great if it was perk, or built in the game. So in could make survivors heal up, or risk running at 5% slower.
-
I have to agree the perk is massively overrated. The only killer that could so quick damage with that perk would be nurse and maybe huntress depending on the map and your skill, everyone else yeah you can get some use. But the perk it only work for a couple of seconds. I rather use totem perks to be honest since at least they usually last longer.

Simple my friend. You move out her sight and if spine no longer activates, you just keep running.

And that my friend is why spine chill is one of the best perks in this game 😀

Don't wanna be playing a sweatfest non stop. You still don't understand this is a casual game, majority of the people play this game casually. I hate to break the news, but high level DBD is not fun for either side. Even a lot of the people you want to balance this game around, such as these sweat squads and killer. They don't play this game in public matches, they literally only play the game in the few competitive settings there is. Why would you balanced a game were fewer than 5% of the base actually plays like that.

6 knives, period. By "down" I meant the number has gone down.
- "The number of knives required to damage a Survivor has been reduced to 6 (down from 8)"
I still don't get if they mean simply to a injure survivor? did they make it you need 6 to injure? And 8 to down?
Because they wrote 'damage' it makes me wonder do mean only to injure? It's kind of vague for me.
-
@Altarf said:
For those who haven't read the dev update, the short of it is the following:
-6 knives to injure, down from 8. (Buff)
-Laceration takes 10 seconds to decay, down from 20, and decays faster when running. (Nerf)
-Main Event activates in 0.5 seconds, down from 1.5. (Buff)
-Main Event can only be used if you have at least 30 knives. (Nerf)
-Main Event holding time increased to 30 seconds, down from 20 seconds. (Buff)
Also various add-on changes which I won't go into.
What do you think? Will edit in a link later to the update, just writing this as I see it.
The first point is confusing...
Do they mean 6 to simply INJURE a survivor, and 8 to down them?
Or will it be 6, and 6 to down a survivors?
The only thing I don't think is good is the 30 knife requirement for main event to work. Everything else seem alright.

I would stop entertaining this individual. Because this has to be 🔗 🐡 at this point. Who gripes about running 🤣? And the reason competitive is non existent for this game is because the majority is casual. Most people who play those games tend to be invested into it.

He can shutdown anyone in open loops quickly. If he catch you in the open you will be stormed quickly. Some loops or strucktures are good for him as well where he can trow a lot of daggers on you. While you locked in animation (windows, pallets, etc.) he can hit a lot of daggers.
I think people underrating him a bit. But he is still on the weaker side for sure.
I don't know man. I managed to win vs 95% of trickster I faced. Most of them that I see tend to get 1 or 2 downs in the entire game. I managed run a bunch tricksters for 5 gens.
