  • I can see them properly in all maps but Ormond. God, I really can't see ######### in Ormond. It's like survivors are on permanent Lucky Break and Dance with Me :_

yeah exactly ! i'm pretty sure 99% of people saw it and thought "oh Pyramid Head". I mean i know i didn't because i didn't know anything about silen hill ^^

Lol I remember seeing it and being like "lol that looks a lot like PH" but then I was like "nah I'm just delusional", I didn't want to believe because Silent Hill is my fav horror franchise and I didn't want to get disappointed if it turned out not to be him. LOL.

  • I absolutely agree with you. To me, the main problem is that if you balance the killers so that 12 hook matches are feasible, then the current non 12 hook strategies that killers have to do to win (slugging, camping, tunneling) would be insanely broken.

I honestly don't think this game can ever be balanced. And anyone who says "the killer is the power role" as an excuse to affirm that killers should win most matches doesn't understand how video games work. If one side has a bigger chance to win, no one will play the other side. The game is a bit more survivor sided currently, and look how long the survivor queues are -and the breach between survivor and killer isn't even THAT big, specially if you cast SWF sweat squads aside.

Not to mention that some people treat DBD like their serial killer roleplay fantasy, and ngl y'all need to stop playing and go to therapy maybe, if you are THAT obsessed with the idea of going in a murderous spree and being unstoppable. Lol.

  • I have over 40 of them in Myers so I feel you.

  • Where does this "no new maps at all" thing come from, though? Because in the latest Q&A they said not to expect new variations of already existing maps, as far as I remember, because someone had asked about a new variant for the Swamp map. They never talked about a completely new map.

And what's more: in the previous Q&A (not the latest, but the one before it), when someone asked when we would be getting a new map instead of another graphics update, they said it would happen "soon". I remember one of the devs (possibly Almo, but could have been someone else) explicitly saying "soon". Of course it's a very vague term, but there's that.

Wait a second, I just saw the photo on the internet of the new logo and now I saw on your twitter and it is the default, is it that they want us to theorize about what is coming next week or the next?

They changed it back! But it was there for like 45 mins or so.

  • Ok but real talk, if the logo is indeed a teaser for the next chapter, and it happens to be a licensed one, most people are talking about either The Ring, FNAF, or Slenderman. There are probably other possibilities tho, so feel free to discuss them here if you want, but be respectful please! I don't want this thread to turn into a "yes, FNAF!" "no, no FNAF!" mayhem.

  • Omg what's even going on anymore

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

I was actually JUST about to post about this in my discussion! xD

But yeah, I think we're looking at our first small clue to our next chapter. Also, I might be putting my tinfoil hat on right now and looking FAR too into this but, they also tweeted this as they changed their profilepic.

    https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1364294065525841920

So, could we possibly be looking at another gaming franchise coming into DBD? I'd be SUPER HYPED if that's the case, won't lie.

Tinfoil hat or not, I agree with you. It might be a coincidence both things happening at the same time, and the Twitter DBD acc is famous for doing goofy tweets like that one from time to time, but both things could very well be related!

  • Completely agree! Make double everything lol.

  • I honestly wouldn't mind it if we got a 2 killers mode with 8 survivors just for the funsies. Like an arcade game mode if that makes sense. I know the queue times do not allow for more game modes to be added, but it would be hilarious lmao.

  • How are these two things even related. Most online games have chat filters and don't have anything like emojis.

If you're upset that they decided to implement chat filters, then you're part of the reason why it was implemented in the first place lmao. The only valid criticism against this is that the game is currently buggy as heck and they should probably fix that before adding new stuff. But nothing is wrong with chat filters per se. In fact it's something that the game should have had since long ago.

Will be fixed soon, entire situation resolved in a week or two.

If killers had problems like say....silent survivors or any kind of grabs not working, you'd be looking at YEARS for any hope of a possible fix.

Don't be ungrateful and consider yourself very fortunate

Nice to see how you assume I am survivor main when I actually play both roles but OK, whatever fits your "waaaaah BHVR hates me in particular" agenda. The silent survivors bug has happened to me and it ######### sucks but it's not a bug that happens every single match (unlike the hitboxes bug that DOES affect EVERY single match rn). Grabs not working happen because of dedicated servers and you should know already that dedicated servers are ######### for EVERYONE, not only for killer players. Yeah it sucks not getting a grab, you know what else sucks?? Getting hit through walls by Huntresses' hatchets or being grabbed when you actually let go of the gen early, to give a couple examples. And this isn't even taking the current hitboxes into account, only good ol' dedicated servers.

You didn't even read OP's post, considering that they mention solo queue being actual HELL with the current emblems being buggy as ######### and yet you are like "yeah they never fix anything for killers". Also implying that any survivors asked for the godforsaken new UI or the new movement, lol.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

They have their priorities straight. Survivor fun comes first, then cosmetics, then if there's any time left they'll do something for killers

What the ######### are you even talking about. Survivor is literally unplayable right now because of the awful hitboxes. They SHOULD have fixed that before any custom match pipping shenanigans and yet here we are.

  • Anyone who says Deathslinger would win is deluded. The only scenario where Deathslinger could win against Huntress is somewhere where thinking is necessary, like if there was some sort of puzzle or something like that. In a brute force 1v1? Bye bye Slinger.

  • Killer is easier to play than it used to be, but you're exaggerating it a lot lol. The only oblivious people here are my teammates and me, asleep, facing the 20th Freddy in a row.

  • Survivor is easier than killer (depending on the killer though because Freddy is braindead), but nothing in this game is difficult except for mastering the Nurse and MAYBE reaching the full potential of the killers' and the survivor's abilities. But you don't need that full potential to win as either side so it doesn't really matter.

  • Playing a lot more killer than survivor, to begin with.

When I play survivor, I always assume the killer is much closer than they seem to be, and act accordingly. Dead Hard is a no-no in the current state of the game, don't run it.

When I'm getting too frustrated, I just leave and play Overwatch instead, or watch TWD.

I love seeing a full party of flashlights. That when you bring Franklins. When you knock that thing out of their hands it's like Golumn. "LOST, MY PRECIOUS IS LOST"

I'm laughing so hard at this omg. It was hilarious to imagine. Thank you LMAO

  • Lol what. Most players already own DS, it's getting nerfed soon and it doesn't stop the awful hitboxes we have now. If anything, they put the perk in the shrine so that people talk about that instead of about everything else going on, and also because, since the perk is getting nerfed soon, it isn't such a loss for them to give it "for free" rather than making people pay irl money for it.

  • Idk man. Legion, Doctor and Spirit are the three killers I have the most hours with. Spirit was the character that first took me to rank 1 killer. And when I play as her, I absolutely obliterate the survs. Even with weak perks and not the strongest add-ons. When I got to rank 1, I didn't even have BBQ nor PGTW which were sort of mandatory back then. I feel that I shouldn't have been able to do such a thing, given that yeah I'm not absolute trash as Spirit, but I'm also not /that/ good. All it takes it's pressing M2, approaching the survivor at the speed of light and bam, showing up outta nowhere and downing them. Most times you don't even need to do the idle mindgame, but if you add that, it's the cherry on top...

I don't know how I would fix her. Maybe she needs a nerf. Maybe she needs a rework. I don't think her giving more feedback about what she's doing to the survivors is different to getting a nerf -now she gives little to no feedback, so if she gave the survivors more feedback that would be a nerf since the survivors would have more info and thus could counterplay her more. More feedback = nerf, is what I'm saying, idk why people put these things separately like they are any different, there are other sorts of nerfs that she could get that wouldn't be feedback related (like a bigger power cooldown), but providing more feedback to survs is just a type of nerf. And maybe that's ok! Maybe a nerf is what she needs. I'm all in for the more feedback train, because as a survivor it's all guessing games, and that is absolutely no fun given how the Spirit has way more info to guess from than the survivor has. It's similar to what happens with Slinger, except that Slinger is not invisible, does not move at mach 3 speed and can't also use their power to cross the entire map very quickly (not the best use of the Spirit's power, but it can come in handy when you see them far away with BBQ and want to stop that gen from being done asap).

The fatigue idea sounds like a bit too much to me. But the bug thingy that happened back then, which made her "aaaaaaa" sounds audible when she was phasing and gave the survivors a fair sense of direction seemed fair to me. You can still play around that as the Spirit, you can still use your power to approach the survivor quickly, and it wouldn't be all guessing games for them. I don't think this being implemented would gut her. The idea of her giving some sort of cue when she's phasing, so that the stand still mindgame is gone, doesn't seem unfair to me either. These days I always assume the Spirit is just standing still and try to play around that, but if the Spirit realizes that you /know/ she's not phasing, she will proceed to phase and catch you before you get anywhere else. Easily if she's running Stridor and/or you don't have Iron Will.

I don't think a nerf should get any compensations. That's why it's a nerf. If every nerf got something to compensate it, then the thing being nerfed would be as strong as it used to be, and the nerf would be pointless. People asking for a nerf don't ask for some sort of compensation because they want the thing in question to be weaker, not to be the same as it is now. Applies to anything you can imagine: Spirit, Freddy, SWF, keys, OoO, etc. The real question is, does that thing NEED a nerf? Well, for the Spirit, I think she does. Probably in the form of more feedback for survivors. Maybe in some other way. And I'm saying all of this as someone who plays lots of Spirit, my Spirit hours are only behind Legion's and maybe Doctor's since I've decided to main him recently but have played him for a lot of hours already. So I'm not speaking out of an entitled survivor's main ass when I say she is sort of unfair to play against.

As a Doc main I kinda laugh at players who try to hide a lot. Between Distressing and "Calm - Carter's Notes," stealth doesn't exist when I have a Static Blast ready.

    Same.

As for the question on the title, I will stop demonising stealth players when they stop bringing keys and stealthing around the map without doing anything at all, waiting for everyone else to die.

I will stop demonising stealth players when they take the aggro for once when they see the killer is chasing me AGAIN because he couldn't find any of the blendies.

I will stop demonising them when they heal me after unhooking me or at least offer the killer a chase, instead of crouching away and leaving me all alone to deal with the killer who came back to get the unhooker.

I will stop demonising them when they stop calling the killer "a filthy tunneler" because they couldn't find them all game and had no other choice than go for the people who actually offered them a chase.

I will stop demonising them when they actually commit to a 95% gen instead of stealthing away and letting the killer PGTW it.

I will stop demonising them when they actually try to do the last gen when it's only me and them remaining in the match, and I'm the only one trying to either do the gen or loop the killer to give them enough time to do the last gen, while they're stealthing around waiting for me to die and/or looking for hatch.

I could go on and on but I think my point is clear.

  • Twins are so damn boring that when I watch a certain streamer play random killer roulette and it assigns him the Twins I'm like "oh my god again????". I don't even watch streamers Twins' videos anymore, bc of how boring that killer's playstyle is :/ It's not even OP, just boring. Idek how anyone can even find them fun to play, but to each their own I guess.

  • Nowadays it all seems to be about looping each tile for as long as possible, then running to the next one and repeat. While this is fun to watch sometimes and a very useful playstyle for the team, I'd like to see more survivor players trying to rely on mindgames and on actually having the killer lose them mid-chase. I would watch that kind of content happily.

Yes, but i noticed the difference this Friday I think, not immediately after the release.

Same. Friday was crazy fast! People probably played the previous days to check out the new patch, realized what it's like and then didn't play again on Friday lmao

  • Y'all will complain about tryhards then when people meme around you will also complain. I did this a couple of times with friends just for the fun of being four Steves screaming with that stupid voice of his.

Sometimes it's not that deep, I promise.

  • "Balanced" not meaning that it's actually balanced but that there are disgusting features that both sides can exploit. The amount of pallets is insane and I hope it's some sort of bug. On the other hand, many rooms are deathtraps, because there's a door that only opens when the gen is done, a breakable wall, and ONE open door to get into there, so it's like the map went from having one bathroom to having like five of them. Not to mention the amount of dead ends that those breakable walls generate, as long as you don't break them, and also the difficulty to reach hooks because of those same breakable walls. So yeah. A mess. A bit more survivor sided maybe? But a mess for both honestly.

  • Suzie and Joey sounds nice. But I actually ship Frank and David just because. Lmao.

  • They have already said that Freddy is getting nerfed soon. As he should.

  • As long as the hitboxes are not fixed I'll be playing less survivor.

He's surely up there. Shirtless David also makes the list in my opinion. But da wabbit fills me with a rage unseen in my regular life. Steve can loop me and I'll be upset. But the bunny loops me, and a fire Ignites. The death of da wabbit completely consumes me until I've succeeded. God help me if there's more than one I gotta kill

I'm laughing so hard, why are you so angry 😂 like I kinda get you because it's a bit tilting when you get teabagged by a bunny Feng for example but omg. I mentioned Scoops Ahoy Steve because he's my main (along with Dwight but ye) and that's my "main" skin, and every time I meet new survivors, invite them to play, and they see me with that skin they are like "ooooh you like to be tunneled/moried right?" LMAO

  • Scoops Ahoy Steve?

  • Weirdest comparison I've seen up to date, except maybe for that dude who compared DS to the Nurse.

  • I honestly love the one on both the survivor mains and the killer mains hating the new UI. It's nice that, for once, the us vs them mentality has been cast aside and everyone united for a common cause. Lol.

  • I'm glad they are acknowledging it at least.

This has been an issue in this game forever, though. As for the illusion bit, the camera angle changes when you get downed which I feel makes it seem like you got hit from farther away.

Something could definitely be up, but I'd like to see something more than a screenshot or clip of a bad hit before I'm convinced. I'd like to see the ping of both players right after it happens.

Yes the camera angle changes when you're downed. But not before you are downed. And I see the guy swinging from twenty miles away BEFORE I'm downed and still landing the hit.

There are fuckton posts of people complaining on the forums about this. A lot of clips. A lot of complaints. We're not collectively deluded. Something is up.

Sorry for being aggressive but I'm sick and tired of people being like "well I don't really see it so it's probably not true, you're imagining things". We have thousands of hours in this godforsaken game, we KNOW something is wrong ffs.

  • Adrenaline is addictive. And I'm usually the one getting chased when the last gen pops so yeah.

  • Twins patch is a strong contender, but after playing survivor for 5 hours straight I can say this patch is much worse. Hitboxes are so off that the game is unplayable. Very few times did I get killed as many times as today, solely because the killer landed hits they had no business landing. It's so awful that I'm considering either stop playing or play only killer until it's fixed.

  • You can always burn a map offering for another map.

  • I play both sides and I find the UI awful. I doubt the huge amount of people who are complaining only play survivor. In fact, it makes sense that killer mains would complain more, since, like you said, you need to look all over the screen to look for "hints" (English isn't my main language and I can't think of a better word rn sorry) that survivors are there, and the new UI covers a lot more of the screen than the previous UI used to, thus being an obstacle to see those "hints" (scratch marks, crows, etc). Yeah you can scale it and make it small but then you have to squint to see anything on it, lol.

  • NOED will eventually get nerfed so don't worry. It's just a matter of time, specially now that they have nerfed DS and they will most likely nerf OoO. Just wait for it.

As for now, I understand your frustration so I can only be pragmatic and try to give you some tips. Memorizing totem spawns is hard but it's feasible, I've been doing it for a while and I've gotten all 5 totems cleansed more often than not, many times by myself. Take the time to learn the spawns, it will do your job a lot easier and you will waste less time.

Another tip is to run Detective's Hunch. Some people recommend Small Game, but I find DH more useful because it does not require you to run around the map and stumble upon totems, you can see them every time a gen is completed. Which makes it particularly strong against NOED, because unlike other hex perks it needs all five gens to be completed to be activated. If the match goes south and you can't see the auras because the gens are never completed, then NOED won't be a problem anyway.

You can also use a rainbow map, but those are rare to get and you'll eventually run out of them so yeah. I do encourage that you use either DH or rainbow maps to learn totem spawns. Not just to have the upper hand and find the totems in the match you're currently playing, but also so you can learn where they spawn and use that information in your future matches.

Encourage your fellow survivors to do totems. If you're with friends this is easy since you can be an annoying ######### through comms and be like "do bones or I'll hand your ass to the killer". I understand that you play solo Q, so tell the randoms in the post match chat that they should be doing bones. Whether they listen or not is up to them, but if you and other solo players start doing this, they might consider it. If you're on console, then I don't know because I don't play console, but I think it has its own way to communicate with other players right?

Last but not least, try to track killer perks. This can be tricky because some perks won't be apparent at all and you'll have to guess, but it's still feasible. If you know that the killer has Sloppy, Thana, Ruin and Thrilling Tremors, you know that they can't have NOED and thus need to waste no time doing bones (except to cleanse Ruin lol). If you see the killer bee line to you when you're getting healed behind a wall, chances are they have Nurse's. If the killer seems to have very few perks, or you can't seem to track the fourth perk, or even the last two, it may be good to go and try to cleanse every totem in the map. Specially if the killer doesn't seem too concerned by gens popping all across the map. Remember that many people who run NOED try to combo it with Blood Warden, so being unable to track the killer's last two perks, and gens flying without the killer giving a #########, usually means that they are running either one or both of these perks.

NOED will get nerfed though, it's just a matter of time. A friend of mine had an awesome idea, which is to turn NOED into a token perk, which will give you two tokens for every totem standing (dull or not) after the last gen is completed. If survivors were lazy shits who did no bones, then the killer will have ten tokens, thus ten insta-down hits. If only one totem is standing, which usually means that you weren't lazy but had a hard time finding that last totem, the killer will only have two insta-down hits. If no totem is standing, then they will have none (same as it is now). NOED could even become an "indirect" hex perk, in the sense that it would rely on totems standing on the map, but it would not lit up as a totem itself. It seems like a pretty solid idea imo, idk what anyone else thinks.

Overall, I'm not completely against NOED as it is now because usually only bad killers run it (which means you will most likely have time to cleanse all bones before it activates), and I'm always trying to do all bones even if I have to do them myself. But I do feel it's a bit busted that a bad killer can get kills he does not deserve at all solely because of one perk -the same way a bad survivor could abuse DS before the upcoming nerf, or how a mediocre team can counter a killer completely with the current OoO. Did these things have counterplay? Absolutely, tunnel the guy with OoO out from the game, wait 60 seconds so that DS is gone. Was it /fair/ counterplay? Absolutely not. To me, it's the same when it comes to NOED. It does have counterplay, but it's unfair that the killer is granted insta-down M1s for the rest of the match because you missed ONE totem in the sneakiest spot ever.

  • I have recently become a Doctor main, and from my perspective he's quite strong if played properly, you can completely shut down loops if you time your shocks well.

Survivors do complain about him, but not as much as about Freddy and Spirit because unlike those there is solid counterplay against Doctor and he requires some skill. Freddy can spam his snares at zero cost to shut down a loop, if you stay you will die because of the slowdown and if you leave he will most likely catch you before you make it to the next tile because placing his snares doesn't slow him down like Doctor's shock does. Fake pallets Freddy is definitely weaker, but it turns the game into a guessing game unless you're with a 4man SWF and you know which pallets have been used already. Freddy also puts people to sleep with zero effort, usually paired with slow down addons that require zero input from him to work because people fall asleep by themselves, and waking up requires either going across the map and wasting a lot of time, missing a skill check that will reveal your position to him, have someone wake you up which will take longer each time, or be hooked (lol). And Freddy has a TP ability that has pretty much no cooldown and allows him to travel faster than any other character in the game, except maybe Demogorgon but he needs to place his TPs beforehand, Freddy does not.

As for Spirit, people complain about the one-sided guessing games. You have very few cues as a survivor to know exactly where the Spirit is phasing, while she has all the info she needs. The only thing that can stop her is Iron Will, but 99% Spirits run Stridor to counter it. So you either run and she catches up to you because her phasing speed is very fast and can even become faster through add-ons, or you try to mind game her while having little information about where she is, meanwhile she most likely knows where YOU are because she can listen you cry and moan. And she also gets a fair amount of map pressure because as she phases fast, she can use it to go wherever she wants quickly.

As you can see, Doctor does not have any of these powers. He can shut down a loop if he plays well, but he needs to be good at it and a smart survivor will see it coming and try to get to another tile. He's one of the best killers for tracking (via screams + fake doctor illusions + red lights on the back of survivors) but he still needs to travel through the map to get to them and catch them. He has decent slow down through madness, via snap out of it and weird skill-checks, but only baby survivors will complain about this. Good survs will land most of those skill checks and snap out of it quickly. He's nothing like the other two imo.

Sounds like the average game on dedicated servers to me.

It is totally possible that there were changes to the servers, such things are often not in patch notes, but I sure as hell don't see a difference

No dude, I get that dedicated servers are ######### and I sometimes get hit when I shouldn't be (and viceversa). But it's WAY worse right now I promise. It's like an every match thing. Maybe you got lucky, were you playing survivor or killer? Because maybe it's not easy to spot from a killer's perspective, although I've seen some killers mention that they have been landing hits that shouldn't have landed at all. I can say that, at least from the survivor's perspective, hits are completely off.

Something is absolutely going on. What that is, I don't know. Maybe there's a difference between what the killer sees and what the survivor sees, although killers' feedback on landing hits that they shouldn't have says otherwise. Maybe the hitboxes are ######### up or buggy or they have gotten bigger unintentionally. Maybe both. Maybe something else. But something is up.

  • @Trashmaster said:

I really can't see the hitbox issue, everything is working just like it has been since hit "validation" was added. (And hit validation didn't do a damn thing, hit registration just got even messier.)

The new animations are definitely creating the illusion of hitboxes being different/broken for some people

This makes zero sense. The new animations didn't change the speed at which you run, nor the size of the survivors, nor anything like that. So how would it be an "illusion" if you're clearly getting hit from way further than you should be? People have been hit by killers from the other side of pallets and through walls. With no ping involved. Even some killers have said that they got hits they had no business getting. Something is up, no question about it.

  • Same thing happened to me, and to a lot more people from what I gather from the forum posts. Something's up with the hitboxes 100%.

  • Got hit by a couple of Clowns that may as well have been wielding swords instead of knives, considering how far away they hit me from.

And no, it's not a server problem. Ping is fine. It's an issue with the hitboxes.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 15
