Wraith is so weak I barely ever see him anymore. Myers also need some tweaks.
On the other hand, Spirit and Freddy need nerfs imo.

So you made a plea asking people to quit making this a killer vs survivor thing. I responded to you by saying there are people that will always see everything as a penalty to their side no matter what. I get my response wasn't 100% about the auras, but it was in response to what you said. I was pointing out how absurd it is that anyone thinks the aura change was meant as some sort of penalty for either side. While my comment may not have been 100% related to the new auras it was completely related to what you said about people making them a killer vs survivor thing.
Sorry, from your original comment I understood that you were implying that this wasn't a killer AND survivor problem, thus bringing up how both sides sometimes act like everything about themselves. My bad.

First, I was responding to a particular comment. It was a response to what they said.
Second, the fact that it affects everyone is exactly the point I was making. I was pointing out there are those that think every single change was meant to nerf their favorite side even when it's obviously not, just like with the aura changes.
Third, if you think my comment was irrelevant how is it any more relevant to take the time to question it and then turn around and make the exact same point I was making?
The particular post you quoted was my post but ok.
-
Just go back to how they used to be, maybe tweak them a little so that survivors' auras are visible behind the aura of whichever generator they are repairing, but that was the only (rather small) issue the previous auras had as far as I know.
I literally do not know why they decided to change them in the first place.

It's not about survivor vs killer, but there's no denying that colorblind killers will suffer because of this more than colorblind survivors. Being that the very foundation of finding survivors (which is patrolling generators based on aura location) is completely borked here for them. Survivors don't rely on aura reading to do their objective.
Stating the obvious isn't making it survivors vs killers. It's called stating the obvious. Does it hurt both sides? Yes. Does it effect killers more? Yes.
I agree that it might affect killers more than survivors (not every killer runs BBQ though, I've faced killers that don't even run aura perks BUT I agree that most do) but I'm referring to the people saying that since "it's a killer problem only it won't be fixed in a long time". It's not only a killers problem, there are survivors in this thread complaining that they can't see their hooked/slugged teammates' auras and thus can't come to the rescue.
It's not a competition on who is suffering more. If anything I'd rather the energy was brought into how this hurts colorblind people (be survivors or killers) more than anyone else, because an update with colorblind options is LONG due. I think this is the only online game that I have ever played that doesn't have a set of colorblind options.

If they nerfed all killers to run at 50% speed there would be survivors claiming it was a nerf to them. If they made each generator take 10 minutes to complete there would be killers that would find some way to claim it was meant to hurt killers.
How does this have anything to do with this post though. The change in the auras has affected everyone regardless of what they play as, because they have changed for everyone, not only for the killers nor only for the survivors.
-
Stop making it a survivors vs killers thing, I'm a survivor main and I can't see #########. I sometimes can't even spot where my teammates have been slugged or hooked, let alone totem auras with Detective's Hunch or a map.
I had been wondering all day about how this might have affected colorblind people because if I, not colorblind, have been struggling to see anything at all, the game must have become unplayable for them. I came to the forums specifically to find out it's true.
This hurts both survivors and killers. Get the us vs them nonsense outta here.
-
I can't see a SINGLE ######### THING pls revert it to how it was before oh my god
-
Silent Hill is darker and way more twisted than Resident Evil, it plays a lot with symbolism and metaphors and I find it way spookier than RE.
Both are awesome though!
-
Meh
-
Idk how anyone could possibly think he's balanced, it's gotten to a point when I just want to quit as soon as the match starts and I see the little timer thingy on the screen. So boring and annoying to play against.
-
The map is AMAZING I love how detailed it is, how it respects the structure of the original SH1 school map, and how it's so full of tiny references to SH (Alessa crying in the bathroom, the locker jumpscare, the clock tower thingy, the piano puzzle!! etc etc).
That being said, gameplay in there sucks ass. For both sides tbh. I hope it is reworked in some way.

@PhaloxY said:
I agree that its "fine" as it is, but with this change it would be fun to use as a solo survivor aswell.
In my opinion its straight out a QOL change for solo survivors and otherwise provides useful info that someone is in that locker ready to head on if you are in a chase with the killer. This is information you otherwise will have if you are a SWF group.
You make a fair point tbh.

What do you mean with the survivor they are playing?
I like Steve and Dwight so if they're playing those survivors there's a higher chance I'll let them escape :P
-
I think it's fine as it is tbh.
-
Depends a lot on the survivor who they're playing (I'm biased), what they match has been like (for example if people disconnected I usually let the last one go) and if I have any rituals pending (for example if I have a sacrifice ritual or whatever and need the sacrifice I won't let them go).
Most times I have already decided what I will do even before I pick them up so
-
Pyramid Head, with Myers as a very close second lol
-
Honestly yes. It's ridiculous that his most solid add-on is a brown add-on??? Just make it part of his kit and give him other decent add-ons instead.
-
Nobody plays Demoboi :(
-
I really enjoy seeing the new killers & survivors they come up with, and how they adapt already existing ones into the game. I also love when we get new maps!
As for the perks, I feel that most of the actually useful perks are already in the game, and all the new perks they come up with are either useless or kiiiiinda useful in VERY specific builds, always combined with other perks. So yeah I don't look forward to new perks very much. As much as I love Silent Hill, both Heather & Pyramid Head's perks were kinda disappointing.
-
I would love 2 vs 8 omg. It would be a MESS but then again it would be an arcade mode just for the funsies so yeah
-
If I try to be objective then Freddy, but I ######### hate the Deathslinger with a passion so yeah.
-
No Dwight? No Steve? :(
-
Anything involving stats I love so yeah. Honestly who cares if it only tracks your stats back to some specific date and everything before is disregarded??? Isn't the point here that only you can see your own stats??? Nothing much to flex about. And I'd rather have my stats started from square one than have no stats at all.
-
I'd rather it was Eddie Gluskin but I'm just biased bc I love that character lol.
-
He should be buffed and some of his add-ons should be reworked honestly. I kinda like the fact that there are like five different versions of Myers to play as right now, depending on the add-ons you choose, but some of them are too unfair imo. Infinite tier III Myers is too much.
My point is that barely anyone plays the "regular" Myers as far as I've seen. Almost every Myers I have faced the past few months was either ninja Myers, infinite t3 Myers, or mori Myers (the one that can kill you on the spot when he gets to tier III). He seems too add-on reliant imo, and his "regular" version is too weak when you compare him to the alternatives his add-ons bring onto the table.
-
Freddy is literally a braindead killer so anything nerfing him I support (his lunge is the same as every other killer's though).
I also agree with the Deathslinger terror radius thingy. It should either be bigger or louder.
The rest is meh. Pyramid Head is fine as he is.
-
Least favorite lore-wise? Clown. To face in game? Freddy. To play as? Probably Nurse or Hillbilly because I have never played as them and they're some of the hardest to master afaik so I would probably have an awful time trying to play as them.
-
I never run exhaustion perks except Head On, sometimes, in VERY specific builds, so yeah.
-
The proning idea is really cool, idk why it's not something in the game already considering how frequent you see protagonists hiding under a bed/etc and being grabbed from their ankles in horror stuff.
The rest of your ideas are kinda meh to me ---cool concepts, hard to implement/balance imo??? Except the firecrackers thing which seems doable since they already exist in the game, but I just know that killers would complain about them a lot if they became a regular item outside from events, so... However I would love to have a water map, even if there's no swimming mechanic nor anything like that and it's just there as a decoration.
-
Only legendary skins should be linked in my opinion. Regular outfits being linked makes no sense.
-
As a survivor main I find it a bit annoying that looping is the only thing that this game has become about tbh. Most times I will try to mindgame the killer so that they lose me and go for someone else, I'm not the type to enjoy abusing a good loop for hours on plain sight tbh.
-
Ranks 1-2, most of the time I'm rank 1 but I go back to rank 2 when I have a very bad match/get tunneled and sacrificed first/etc

You know the killers objective isnt to defend generators? Its to kill everyone so nope it doesnt reward the killer for failing.
Also do bones.
I'm the bones doer from every match I get into buddy. To the point that my friends usually joke about it whenever they see a totem, they go like "huh there's a totem here COME QUICKLY!!!" And I still think NOED should be nerfed. I agree that a lot of survivors are ######### and won't do the damn bones, though. Today I walked by a bunch of gens that had already been done by other survivors and the perfectly visible totems standing next to them were still there, standing.
Also, the main objective of the killer is to kill, of course, if you fail to kill the survivors then the gens get done ---thus, if all the gens have been completed, you're failing at your task. If you kill everyone fast then the gens won't pop :P :P :P
-
For chases, the best one is probably Kate. Distortion can help in stealthy builds, so if you want one extra perk to run when you play stealthy you should go for Jeff then.
-
I wish the arguments against FNaF x DbD were more reasonable than "the fanbase is cringe!!!" (who cares?) "it's a game for kids!!!" (lol it really is not). Like if you feel it doesn't "fit" or whatever then you do you but bringing the totally unrelated "cringe" fanbase into the topic, or saying that a game where kids were murdered and the protagonist dies every time you fail is made "for children" is a bit ehh.
Also, I was already an adult when the first FNaF game was released and I think it being added into DbD would be awesome, yeah. It's a different kind of horror for sure but the fact that the ones who hyped it on YouTube were children doesn't make it "childish", in fact I don't even know why 8 year olds were allowed to watch such a thing in the first place. Also what even is wrong with things being childish lol look at the Robbie the Rabbit skins or that elephant clown skin.
-
NOED is a reward for failing at your task as a killer. I don't even run Adrenaline and it could be nerfed to hell for all I care but it's in no way comparable to NOED because, unlike NOED, it's a reward for actually managing to do what you're supposed to, which is repairing gens.
The only thing that I think can be compared to NOED is the hatch. Both show up when the game is about to end and when whichever side has failed at their tasks (doing gens & escaping/stopping survivors from doing gens & escaping). And you can easily see how unbalanced the whole thing is because only one survivor can benefit from the hatch (not taking keys into account here because that's a whole separate issue) whereas NOED affects all survivors. If the killer is lucky or plays scummy enough they can get a 4K from NOED, survivors will never get a 4 man escape from the hatch (not-taking-keys-into-account-OK). Of course one could argue that if the killer gets a 4K out from NOED that's because of survivor mistakes, but still the possibility is there, with the hatch it's not. And there's also the fact that the hatch is built-in every match, whereas NOED is a hex-perk, but I'm just talking about game-mechanics that reward players for failing at their tasks, not making an in-depth analysis about the whole thing.
But yeah tl;dr imo it should be nerfed.
-
And I'd like to add that the fact that FNaF is a jumpscares game has nothing to do with the gameplay that Springtrap should have (although some sort of jumpscare could be implemented, a friend of my brother had some nice ideas as to how to make it work but I forgot lol) because the way the killers behave in the game doesn't always mirror the way they behave in their original franchises. Pyramid Head is a great example of this for obvious reasons, the Demogorgon portals in DbD work in a different way than they do in the series, Myers only targets people related to Laurie & etc in the movies, etc.
My point here is that people say that jumpscares and DbD aren't compatible but 1. jumpscares aren't strictly necessary if they decide to add Springtrap 2. tell that to stealthy killers (specially ninja Myers) and Hag traps lol 3. it could probably work, if implemented properly.
Also! One of the devs has expressed her interest in adding Springtrap to DbD. I don't have the source at hand but if you look around in other Springtrap-related posts in these forums (there are a lot of them) you will find it. Of course that doesn't mean he will be added but there's at least one person in the dev team considering the possibility.
-
I would love Springtrap being added and don't see what y'all mean with "he wouldn't fit in" like if the Legion Robbie the Rabbit skins fit, so does Springtrap who is way spookier.

what do you mean, hawkins literally has the lowest average survival rate out of any map, including all the other indoor maps.
I know, and I honestly can't understand how that's even possible lol. To me it has always felt as the least oppressive one out from all the indoor maps. I suffer a lot more in The Game and Lery's. But like I said, it's just a personal feeling.
@Duskyy said:

I can understand, as it has a few strong loops, but I feel it is a bit survivor sided because of the strong loop I think you all have used or at least heard of. I wanted to hear ppl opinion of it because for an indoor map it is some good loops and also good on some killers.
There are a lot of loops indeed but all indoor maps are inherently killer sided imo. There's a reason why stats show that killers are way more successful in indoor maps.
-
They gave me everything I could possibly dream of with Cheryl, and I'm still playing Steve lol. So yeah.
-
I wouldn't mind BBQ getting a small nerf tbh, but making it a Hex would be WAY too much.
-
I hate all indoors maps but I feel Hawkins is the most balanced one out of them all. Survivor isn't as frustrating to play as in the others (specially The Game), and killers still have the advantage that all indoors maps bring to them (casting aside the few killers that benefit from outdoors maps more).
-
This is an interesting concept!! Could get some tweaks here and there but I like it :D that being said if you put maggots in the game I will cry because they just... disturb me so much... I would probably have to get used to playing against this killer because worms/maggots and such are like a huge phobia of mine lol
-
People who aimlessly walk/crouch through the map without doing gens are the most annoying. But there's nothing more infuriating than the dude who went ninja without doing a single thing during the whole match managing to escape while the others don't.
-
Demoboi is balanced and extremely fun to play as. The problem is that all that he does, other killers do as well and more easily/brokenly. If other killers (such as Freddy) were nerfed, we would see him more often. Or if Demo were buffed. But he's my main along with Legion and I don't find him that weak tbh.
-
Teammates not understanding that time crunch is everything and aimlessly wandering across the map, not doing anything at all, thus making the match way longer than it could/should be.
I should get better at looping though, I'm not that bad but I could be way better... this however will do no good if my teammates are still wondering around the map while I'm looping the killer INSTEAD OF DOING THE DAMN GENS.
-
This is absolutely fair. As a survivor, you should know that there's always a risk when it comes to seemingly friendly killers. When I see killers hitting generators or pallets, apparently telling me that they're friendly (key word: apparently), I must decide on the spot if I trust them or not. Most times I will honestly, and if it ends up getting me killed, then it was my mistake, not theirs.
There are some precautions you can take, though. More than once I have faced killers who pretended to be friendly only for the last gen to be completed and surprise! NOED. My friends and I have even faced killers who pretended to be AFK the whole game (Wraiths are specially prone to this) for them to go murderous with NOED after the last gen is completed. The biggest tip I can give you is to ALWAYS make sure to do ALL OF THE BONES when the killer is being friendly or AFK, always having one survivor far from the killer when the last gen pops, ideally trying to open both doors (have one survivor on each right before the gen pops) and memorizing the hatch spawn location if you happen to run into it. Stuff like that can help.
I would never ever trust a Leatherface player though, omg. I don't think I have faced a single friendly Bubba, like, EVER.
-
I hate Deathslinger with a passion so yeah.
If I try to be more objective though... probably Freddy. Also the stuff that people pointed out about Spirit is so damn true, when I play against her I usually assume I have already lost.

I get dc issues. But as said I dont get choosing to dc when the game penalizes it. I'm all for not penalizing those who had dc issues like server failures. Power Outages and internet server issues. But for those willingly camping a hook is as well a reason frustrated survivors WANT to quit. I myself have had so many camp my while I was hooked and a couple I decided this ain't fun enough to stay. And then boom, one time I dc as a choice. I'm soft banned. That's a huge middle finger to players who want the thrill of a killer to chase them and their unsuspecting friends in a horror genre, then get caught and suddenly realize "um... are you gonna go chase my friends?". Why stand around as a killer and camp your prey. Boring!
But yes killers have dc issues too. Especially if a group of friends commu icating through voice chat harrass a killer with no fear. There's another issue with this game. F13 was clever enough to add walkie talkies and disabled party chat and added close prox. Voice Chat. DBD ought to look into that, At least.
But I do not and can not understand choosing to dc just to be penalized for it. This is my point. Why is it a choice but you're penalized for choosing to
If you're getting camped on hook you can always go straight to the struggle phase and not struggle.
If camping "is a valid strategy" according to so many people here, so is suiciding on first hook. You won't be penalized for it and can quickly move on to the next match.
