that's the neat part, you can't... before his low terror radious paired with monitor and abuse was an excellent way to greatly soften up this problem. but you know, devs nerfed that poor killer into the ground (before the nerf he was my main) cause his 1vs was "unfair and too much strong" without taking into account that it was the only good thing about him (a 4.4 without map pressure/passive slowdown like the one that pinhead has and he couldn't sniping people like huntress from the other side of the map or behind a pallet neeeded those nerfs after all, he was too much strong /s)

i do when my friends are not on when they are I play survivor with them and run into these problems constantly
hmmm... another solution will be to do a match as killer each one of you and stream it to the others... for me it worked

its all they are doing today I'm sick of it 10 games in a row me or my teammates are tunneled and camped out of the game 1 by 1 its outrageous how do people play like this and why do they not prevent playstyles like this I understand its 2x bloodpoints but this is just stupid i hope they fix this soon
if you have problems about camping or tunneling then why didn't you switch and play killer then? you'll get more bp and you will be the one that decides the behavior towards the survivors... after all even this is a solution
-
i like it both as killer and survivor cause:
1 not too much big (killer)
2 gens are quite near each other but they are also with good protections (killer/survivor)
3 relatively balanced. The saloon and the shack are still formidable loops, but everything else is doable and gave enough space for mindgames (killer/survivor)
4 few places that are ultrasafe (killer)
5 i like the aesthetic
6 a lot of bushes and good places to hide (survivor)
7 totems are easily spotted (survivor)

in the meantime a buff for his ambush attack wouldn't be so bad (tbh it has no purpose if you think about it: when survivors are working on generators you have the possibility to grab them IF YOU DON'T ATTACK with the ambush, plus the pig won't make much noise with a normal attack, while if you use the ambush...)

I am sure many of you saw the 40 perk rework announcement. I personally think for the perks listed it would be unnecessary. I realize that the meta is stale, however that is because there are a ridiculous amount of perks on both sides that are simply bad or outclassed by other perks. Like who would honestly run Off the Record over Iron Will? I think if the Devs want more perk diversity, they should buff weaker perks and add secondary effects so they aren't simply outclassed by other perks. For example, Off the Record could perhaps show the killer's aura to you right after you are unhooked or maybe make it so your rushed actions after being unhooked are silenced for a period of time.
I think that every perk they listed on killer side is fine, and this is someone who primarily plays survivor. I have no problem with BBQ or any of the Gen Regressions perks they listed. I think perks like Pop goes the Weasel are already well designed in that they reward the killer for getting hooks and encourage leaving the hook.
The only perk I would like redesigned on killer side is NOED because it is often very predictable when a killer has it; yet, if a killer chooses to camp and tunnel survivors simply won't have time to do totems, especially if they are solo. If you are the type of killer that hates SWF I can honestly say frustrations around NOED are primarily the reason I play in a SWF, and I'm sure other survivors will agree. It leads to boring gameplay where killers feel empowered to camp or tunnel 1 person out because they know a huge power boost will come endgame that can be impossible to deal with even with the best of coordination. Let's not forget it can stack with other broken things like Moris or be used with Nurse.
The perks on survivor side I also believe are fine. BT and Decisive have had a lot of reworks, and I think they are in a healthy state right now. They are quite literally the only tools survivors have to counter camping and tunneling. You may argue that killers should feel powerful and have the ability to camp or tunnel if they want, and I agree. But games where the killer camps and tunnels leads to a fun game for maybe one person, while the other 3 are left playing gen repair simulator. I think it is healthy for them to be left alone as a deterrent to a boring play style.
Iron will is another perk I don't understand why they want to rework. Yes, it is a good perk but it's not broken. If you lose a chase because of Iron Will, that is completely your fault because there are many more indicators that can be used (Crows, Scratches, Blood pools). Iron will also encourages survivors to make riskier plays (Window Techs, Jukes, Flashlight saves, Trying to lose the killer). If Iron Will is nerfed I am sure gameplay will be more boring for both killer and survivor at a high level.
Lastly, I would like to address Dead Hard. Dead Hard has been in the game since David, and I am surprised how many 200 hour killers are talking about how it's uncounterable and broken. Yes it is used more than other exhaustion perks, but I think people are forgetting that's because of the inherent risk of using something like Lithe or Balanced Landing and then getting a map like The Game or Shelter Woods where your perk is useless. Not to mention that it only works when you are injured, a huge disadvantage with the amount instadowns in the game. Dead Hard is a well designed perk as it does require skill and understanding of distances. There are many survivors I have downed after they messed up a dead hard, and there are many times I have messed up my dead hard and have gotten downed as a very experienced survivor.
Dead Hard is also in a way healthy for the meta because it encourages survivors to greed pallets, which believe it or not is better for the killer. A simple experiment can confirm this. Load in KYF with a M1 killer on a pallet heavy map like Blood Lodge or the Game. First play a round with a stipulation that survivors must drop pallets immediately or after one loop. Then play a round where survivors are encouraged to play as efficiently as possible. I guarantee you that you will perform better when survivors are playing greedy, because that often leads to survivors making mistakes and getting downed. If survivors pre drop pallets, it's often worse for the killer as there is little counterplay. I've personally played many games as Clown or Myers for example where the survivors instadrop every pallet, yet I lose anyway because there were simply too many pallets and nothing else I could do.
"dead hard is healthy" and nothing, i stopped to read after this...

then i suggest you to switch side and play some killer games... queue is much faster, you'll (probably) get more bp and you'll be the one that choose how to play... or do like i did: finding something else to play (best choice imo)

look, between constant nerfs, reworked maps more broken than the old ones and cheaters (in my last 5 matches done 2 weeks ago, 4 were with blatant cheaters who teleport themself, instaheal and instarepair... 2 of those even started flying), the game is already unplayable for me

Hey, just a teeny reminder for my friends, foes, and people whom I've never met. Let's put the 'us vs. them' aside for a moment and have a talk.
If the game is affecting you to the point where your mental health feels like it's draining. Take a break from the game if you can. For me, I stopped playing DBD as much when I got my Oculus and honestly, it's been refreshing. I got to work on my anger issues, met some new people, ect.
For those who have invested a lot of time and effort into the game, or even money into the game, you don't have to abandon the game completely, just take a long enough break for you to breathe.
I believe in you, go draw, read a book, or even play a different game that is relaxing like Stardew Valley. You got this, keep on pushing through.
Or play bubba basement defender... Jokes aside i did that too cause the game isn't fun anymore (I found boring keep pressing m1 on gen for 80 seconds as survivor and as killer I'm aganist tryharders who use the best offering/perks/items in every single match as killer... While I'm playing weak killers with meme addons)... Until they'll start to fix the major game's issues, I won't probably come back

@MrMori said:
With the Mori rework, most people are assuming it's not just a scenario that happens when there is one survivor alive, but rather the moment the last survivor that isn't hooked or downed gets downed. After that they will be Mori'd and the game ends. That's just an assumption, but it seems to be what most think after reading the blog post.
I like this idea a lot, but I feel like this Mori should not happen if there are second chance perks in play that could bring the game back, not counting self unhooks. So the following:
- Unbreakable
- Active Soul Guard
- No Mither
- Boon: Exponential placed on the map
- Decisive Strike
- Deliverance
Anything I'm missing?
Either way, I know this is a buff to slugging for hatch, but let's be real, if you slug the last two players and neither have unbreakable or deliverance the game really is over. Sure you can't down them and carry them to hatch anymore, but so what? I'd rather have the final part of the game cut down drastically. Think of all the time that will be saved! Think of all the times you'd get bled out by salty killers, this will no longer be possible. This means more time playing the game and less time walking around the map, picking up survivors and then standing in front of them to endure they don't get a 4%. It also means faster queue times as matches will last shorter on average.
Now all we need is to give killers the option to surrender somehow after 5 gens are done, and the biggest time waster from survivors, waiting at gates would be fixed. Of course you could always just force them out, but I like a surrender option more. Having the last 2 survivors hide for 20 minutes is also a problem, but that only happens with 2 players, and usually you can catch one of them and make hatch spawn.
survivors get enough 2nd chances already during the match, no need to add others if you are the last one alive (in that instance the killer already won the match so it's pointless giving other chances)

You know, sometimes I feel like maybe we shouldn't change perks like Unbreakable and Dead Hard. But then I get those teams that let themselves get 3 or 4 man slugged, pop their quad unbreakables, and act like they're team oracle. This is pretty much unique to killers (aside from Noed) and it reminds me of when I get killed in survival pvp games by hackers and have to watch as my health slowly goes down, and hours of my time is stripped. If you can't tell, this just happened to me, so if you don't mind, I'm gonna make some random team suffer.

you know, this is why i left dbd... i can accept that people won cause they deserve it, but i don't accept loosing because perks (or being in a swf) carried people... usually those kind of people are also sore loosers/winners so it doesn't matter how you'll play, they'll always blame you for everything, even for things that you haven't done at all

So a look through the potential most used perks being changed it got me thinking of the actual healthy perks. Note some of these potential changes may be a change to base kit or may receive no changes at all.
On the survivor end BT, UB and DS are definitely solid perks that counter certain playstyles. Healthy to prevent four man slugs, immediately tunneling off hook and punishing if they continue to do so.
On the killer side: BBQ, Pop Goes the Weasle, Jolt and Pain Resonance are perks that encourages leaving the hook and/or rewarding the killer for getting a down.
What are some of the healthy perks you are anxious will get changed?
DS can still be used in the endgame as a free escape from jail, despite the killer isn't tunneling anymore at this point... He will be punished for securing a kill... BT can be EXTREMELY unhealthy (bodyblock with BT on purpose) unbreakable when paired with certain perks (but even by itself) it's quite frustrating cause you'll literally punished for doing a good play and apply pressure with certain strategies (found another survivor and start a chase with him after taking down another survivor)
-
no more 4% speed bonus but no more hex... once the gates are powered killers can 1shot people
-
shards and bp would be nice... (i'm not much interested in skins, and i don't care at all about charms)
-
just close the endchat... this is (sadly) the only thing that you can do... i've reported SO MANY PEOPLE for those kind of stuff that you described... obviously noone of them was banned cause "reasons" (i won't wrote more about this cause i'll probably end banned from here if i should say everything that i think)

I had a doc who slugged and camped at 4 gens and the devs say their fixing it. Taking away points doesn't do jack people don’t care make the punishment something like I don't know the cooldown is slower for hitting a survivor or something.
nerf genspeed, eliminate unfair godloops that cannot being mindgamed and you'll see a lot of killers switch their attitudes of camping and tunneling (granted, some people will still do it, but i'll bet that the majority of players will play more chill and in a fun way for both sides)

For the past couple of matches, I've only been playing with BBQ and have still been able to 2-4k every game, and it's made me realize something: Billy does not need perks at all, just like Hag. They both have really good basekits, and while it's nice to run some slowdown on them, all you really need is an info perk or two to win with them. This is imo the main advantage Billy has over all other killers, Nurse and Blight need perks/add-ons to instadown, but Billy just does that basekit, Spirit/Nurse need to bring special add-ons to get good mobility, but Billy just does that basekit, the only problem with utilizing both these abilities is overheat, but if you bring the Air filter and Muffler add-ons then you can play him like it's 2016.
i would gladly see some of your matches... i hate being the one that broke your dream, but very probably you were aganist people who didn't even know what a loop is (playing without perks is IMPOSSIBLE unless aganist potatoes who will stay crouched most of the time without doing nothing).

wanna see instant changes of that perk? stop playing killer and queue as survivor (or much better, play another game)... solutions are few, simple and effective...

Imagine that you are finally going to get some boil over vaule when suddenly the killer drops you. Worse yet, you see another survivor make a good sabotage play, then the killer drops you. The killer is able to maintain pressure in the game despite his bad play. Now teammates have to go find you and heal you. This is an unfair mechanic that should be removed.
if you don't like it then play killer... queues are much shorter and you'll have a good time...
-
if you are on the map you are already "tunneling"...
on a serious note the right definition (regarding dbd) is this: tunneling is when you focus on a single survivor ALL the time and you COMPLETELY ignore EVERYTHING else (aka gens defence and the other survivors)
survivors can also do this regarding generators: if you see a gen almost completed and the killer is coming in your direction, you would normally finish it, even under the killer's nose
both things focus on speed up the main goal for both sides (killing/escaping) and both things are BORING and ANNOYING as hell, but this is the game right now...

Knowing what the reward will be is going to be an important part of deciding whether to Prestige or not, and I'm wondering how long we'll have to wait before we hear anything about it.

The community seems to agree that Dredge's teleportation powers are similar to Sadako's. Most importantly that they're even better than hers. Having more access to places to teleport and create mindgames with, Sadako only has condemned to compensate for it. But even condemned is underwhelming along with the rest of how she's built (Lullaby, gimmicky stealth power, and long cooldowns)
There's no purpose in playing her anymore. What are your guys' suggestions on how to buff Sadako?
You can't buff a m1 killer without a chasing power... You can buff her on her mobility, but she'll stay in the trash tier cause she doesn't have any anti loop power (the only actual thing that can SLIGHTLY help is her passive phasing, but this won't stop survivors from looping her to death)

@Devilishly_Rowdy said:
A 1v4 game, anyone would think that the 1 player would be much more powerful than the 4 right? Well not in dbd, here the 4 players are the power role and are favoured by the devs in such a way that they hold the power to "bully" the killer into oblivion. Maps designs always favour them, they get second chances to fix their mistakes and their objective (doing gens) is much faster than the killer's (hooking survivors). The killer who is always out of time has to do secondary objectives (breakable walls and snuffing boons) lol. Now the killer role is so trashed and feels so stressful that very few people wanna play it, which has increased survivor queue times massively. So making survivors the power role really backfired for Behavior eventually didn't it? It was only a matter of time. They kept favouring the majority (survivors) but forgot they NEED killer players to have dbd.
and for this reasons they are working on bots... this game is doomed, it's the lair for toxic people and trolls (think how many people don't even want to have a civil debate and want just flame others or the amount of people who dc in the game for extremely petty reasons). obviously the devs are the ones to blame cause they left those behaviors unpunished (a lot of reports with screenshots as proofs are still unanswered)

Has anyone else noticed a big increase in the amount of tunneling killers the last month or so? Or have i just been very unlucky? It seems like almost every other game the killer will just tunnel one player out the game in the first few minutes. Do the devs condone tunneling? They can't seriously think that tunneling people out of the game is in any way healthy or fun for the person(s) being tunneled, especially right at the start of the match.
just play something else, your nervous system will thank you later trust me... the game became boring, unfun and unhealty for various reasons, one of those is that you must "rush" your goal from both sides in order to win: as killer you NEED to play dirty in order to get some advantages and to slow down the gens (even then it's not granted), as solo survivor you need to rush generators if you aren't chased (playing with randoms is a suicide most of the times due to their incompetence) or to play safe in case you were the chased survivor. In this circumstance not only you must pray that your team will save you (most of the times you'll die on 1st hook due again to the incompetence of your team), but you must also endure the killers who camp and tunnel. despite i consider myself a former killer main i played both sides so i know what i'm talking about. i just went to play other games since the devs show us that more than once that they don't care about those issues...

It doesn't surprise me that some people may see the game this way. I really don't think most gamers care about this stuff and when they do see developers giving focus to social issues like "representation" in their game it could cause them to think they don't really care about the game itself. Whether or not there is any or even some truth to that doesn't matter. At the end of the day what matters is how well your consumers are responding to and receiving your product. Representation of the lgbt community may appeal to some people but it most certainly is not going to appeal to the majority of them.
As I said before the problem isn't the representation of LGBTQ, but the fact that their priorities are clearly focused on this matter rather than the game's health, and this is A UNDENIABLE Fact... my reports never answered, the bugs not fixed (hello there giant blob in midwich for example) and the last matches that I did speak for themselves

before adding new content they should focus on fixing their game 1st... i would gladly see bhvr taking an entire year to fix everything than getting new (and bugged) stuff

I'm so sick of people that respond to every criticism of Dead Hard with "But that would make the perk worthless", as if that would not objectively make the game better. YES. DO IT. Pummel it until it is worse than Technician, for God's sake.
i'll tell you an anedocte: i stopped once and for all to play dbd cause the devs mock their playerbase (they said that dead hard will be "looked at" but in the meatime they put that cursed perk in the tomes challenges and the worst thing is that they also put it in the shrine of secrets too)... my matches were already filled with dead hard users, but this utterly worsened the situation

Endgame builds odn't feel fun cause it playing with no perks for most of the game then they just instantly leave as soon as you get 1 down with NOED. Backpack builds tend to work once or twice but after that nobody tries to save or go near any downed survivor and I have no choice but to hook. I tried a Nemesis PWYF build but I barely get stunned cause people just drop instantly.

McLean isn't part of their staff anymore, he can have his own ideas, but just because he think that something is fine doesn't mean that shouldn't be fixed or looked at... imo this is a exploit cause in a normal game you couldn't turn so much (without addons at least)/slide on the walls in that way...

I think the best possible way to get counter cheaters is just program a system where abnormal mechanics are being met?
If a Survivor/Killer is above a height Coordinate for longer than 10 secs, then Cancel the trial and Cheater detected.
If Someone is moving above 4.0 m/s (if a Survivor) or above 6.0 m/s (exceptions are Mobility Killers) as Killer for 1 Minute straight or a player's coordinate is moving too fast rapidly, then Cancel the Trial and Cheater detected.
If the server is encountering abnormal performance ie. (Hackers triggering infinite Scream to crash your client) then Cancel the Trial and Cheater detected.
If there's an End Game Collapsed and it didn't move all players to the post (Hostage taking Hackers) then Cancel the Trial and Cheater detected.
I can see these being able to code these conditions on Unreal Engine 4. This shouldn't be too hard if something like Valorant's Anti cheat or VAC can do.
despite i HATE cheaters with a burning passion, you risk also to hit the normal players in that way cause mybe possible bugs will modify your ms (i saw a bug once where a trapper was stucked in his trap in a certain spot of the swamp, once he freed himself he was fast like a cloacked wraith)

The other exhaustion perks are considered balanced only because no one use them. You’ll see hordes of killers complaining about sb when dh will be nerfed to the ground
i don't think so... you see, to use sprint burst optimally you need some works to use it (putting your exhaustation at 99%) and it won't work as command like dead hard do... as killer SB is annoying but doable, but it's nowhere near the level of dead hard in terms of usefulness (for the survivors) and annoyance (for the killers)
