Boon themselves aren't the best idea.

Ideally you'd want weaker mechanics tied to boons so no meta perk effects.

COH is the primary problem because it basically nullifies any threat of being injured while boosting healing time. I don't need to find items or team mates to heal me because I can get this free groupwide healing at an increased rate. Being injured should be threatening and avoided but COH nullifies any of that threat team wide. Its not a great design.

Same could be said for the teamwide unbreakable although its more situational.

COH was very poorly thought out especially when you consider killers like legion where their slowdown is spreading damage.

Yea but while you're off self healing everytime you're injured there's someone on your team using pallets and possibly getting hooked when pumping out a gen was the best option, I stand by the fact that good players won't use COH because you're just stalling the game and nothing is getting done, now it becomes an issue when multiple people have this same mindset that they cant work injured and then all the pallets are gone and there's nothing for the killer to respect because at that point they can just bloodlust for the down. COH is at it's best against a endgame camping killer when you need to reset and go back in for a rescue but other than that you're wasting too much time

  • Considering the best survivors don't even use COH it really won't do much anyway, the only people who use it are the ones who don't feel comfortable working injured and you start trading health states for pallets and teammates getting hook states mean while no gens pop, circle of healing can be strong in certain scenarios but most of the time it's just stalling the game out because everyone is constantly running back to the boon to reset instead of committing to a gen

  • @MilManson said:

The entire perk lets survivors come back from mistakes that should have downed them.

Threw a pallet down and the killers ignored it and come round the side and caught you off guard? No probs here's a DH straight to another pallet or vault.

That's not even the issue with dead hard, good survivors milk dead hard at shack for example and they won't throw the pallet they'll use it for distance to the window knowing they can reset the chase on you there's a misconception that it's a mistake and you should've caught them but no they knew exactly what they were doing most of the time and it was calculated to fully milk that loop then reset the chase without using the pallet, because now after that they can just throw the pallet and reset bloodlust and gain enough distance to force you to drop chase or throw the game on them, dead hard is getting nerfed anyway though the devs are gonna completely rework it how long that takes though is anyone's guess

  • Well he used to if he doesn't anymore, I'm not a bubba main but I know for a fact he used to have that add on

  • Bubba does have a silent saw add on but also if you're not looking at him you won't hear it, the devs changed it to where you hear in the direction you're looking and to legitimize what I'm saying next time any of you works on a gen look behind you totally away from the gen while repairing and the sound of the gen will go silent as well I'm not sure when exactly that changed I think a couple patches ago

  • This whole game is just a giant bug in disguise

  • They're nowhere near the best but you have to admit her base kit is better because it basically is his power except with passive phasing and no bell and she can teleport so that automatically puts her right above him especially with a potential free kill if you have bots who hold the tape too long

    Interesting.

Why would you put her above Wraith, out of interest?

I've been playing her, Wraith and Demo a lot to compare them, and Wraith just feels so much more consistent in securing downs in a timely fashion. That dash when coming out of stealth...wow do I miss it on Sadako.

She has an ability that provides good hit and run and there are alot of tvs on the maps, even if they take a tape there's a TV right nearby within eyesight more than likely, and you still get a dash when coming out of manifest that can make survivors either pre drop or take a hit at a safe pallet, her teleport isn't as limited as demo and provides informatiom on which TV's cant be used aka where a survivor is working on a gen and doesn't want you to come , demo has a better shred but with the way her abilities work and the builds that can be ran on her she's stronger than wraith in my opinion but not demo. Just the different options make her stronger than wraith because he's limited to only one power that everyone knows how to counter at this point and not only that but wraith can be harassed by flashlights and burned.

  • I really don't think she's that bad I put her just above wraith in terms of strength but by all means she nowhere near nurse level so I wouldn't call her one of the best but I'd put her at about B tier

  • If I'm being honest bullying happens alot because the game mechanics themselves are so boring that people try to find ways to have a laugh, nobody wants to hold M1 the entire game so they come up with different builds to make the game aggravating for the other side, like a basement bubba for killer or a troll swf not doing gens running head on builds

i dont know how to tell you this but epilectic people are allowed to have hobbies and enjoy videogames too.

"why would people in wheelchairs want to visit a museum if it has stairs with no ramp?"

Yea they absolutely are but why would they knowing it's gonna cause a episode? That's probably the dumbest excuse I've heard in a while, diabetics aren't supposed to eat a bunch of sugary candy so I guess all the candy in the world should be sugar free in your point of view because it's not fair. Truth is some things aren't made for everyone and this game tries to be inclusive as possible but you can't do things to take away from the game like disabling doctor just because epilepsy, they just need a warning telling the people it can cause seizures and not to play if they're too sensitive to flashing lights

"we can't do anything about it"

maybe if you dedicated the same energy that you're spending arguing with me for pointing out a legitimate problem and directed it towards the enablers of said problem, it would be a start. i beg you to stop replying to this thread. if you really think it's useless, then dont engage in discussion, or dont use the forum at all.

People can have a different opinion than you and still be allowed on here I personally think the flashlight clicking cooldown is stupid and you're just salty to couldn't catch the clicker is what it sounds like to me, you want to have killers be the only ones who can be toxic and it should stay the way it is minus the macros, and I probably play killer more than you do I been here since day one as a killer main and now I'm 50 50 on both sides but I started killer when it was in the worst possible state in the game

  • @cordonrouge said:

multiple people would start bringing flashlights and chain blinding behind each other to avoid the cooldown

when we say cooldown, we mean a cooldown for the action of turning on and off the flashlight. basically spamming right click. it can be so small as to affect only the macro users because a normal user can't phisically be that fast.

but the other thing im suggesting is making the flashlight break if spammed mutiple times in a very short span, since you have no excuse to do that in normal gameplay. that would fix not only macros, but toxic survivor behavior, which is the bigger problem that a killer encounters in every single game.

Flashlight clicking regular with no macro isn't a problem , the macro is unhealthy and they should prevent macro scripts from being loaded up when the game is launched but flashlights don't need a cooldown. So it's only okay for killers to be toxic in your opinion right?

  • It's a shame more people don't play her she's really not a bad killer

  • If you made these changes you would be the one to kill the game is the cold hard fact

  • But if you have epilepsy there's a bunch of other things in this game that would stop you from playing, one example is the doctor , you would be having to DC everytime it's a doctor as the killer and not only that but survivors would find a way around it, multiple people would start bringing flashlights and chain blinding behind each other to avoid the cooldown, while I can agree macro scripts should be out of the game there shouldn't be a cooldown on flashlights only a engine that detects macro scripts and doesn't start the game until they're off

  • A clown is exactly what you are, in a month when it shows the stats for march it will be higher because a chapter just dropped, also there are more platforms than just steam, you're forgetting windows store, epic games, switch, Xbox, PS and Stadia aren't included in those charts and if theres near 50,000 on steam right now you know there are more on the consoles and probably about the same on windows and epic games, even if there were only 45,000 on each platform right now that's still 270,000 players active at this moment it's hardly dying.

  • But what about his "GGez"? You just gonna go and take it away like that lol

A lot of people joke about it, but the thing is it genuinely does highlight a lack of understanding of how people like to play the game. The comparison they gave was shots —> goals —> wins therefore wins = skill, but that directly implies the game is as simple as do gen, open gate, leave.

My issue is with how the metaphor was used. Skilled plays =/= wins because bleeding survivors out on the ground with no hooks is not skillful, and camping a gate while all your teammates die and the killer looks for the hatch is not skillful. The usage of that metaphor to justify not tracking hooks, unhooks, heals, sabos, chase time, etc. is the issue I'm getting at, and I think it's pretty clear a very large chunk of the playerbase takes issue with it if these forums, content creators and Steam stats are anything to go off of.

Slugging is absolutely skillfull, maybe not leaving them to bleed out but if I can down everyone in the first few minutes with the nurse and then end the game by hooking them all how in the world is it not skilled? I caught everyone and they all died without camping or tunneling a single one of them. 12 hooking sounds good on paper and it's absolutely possible but against a good squad slugging is necessary to gain more pressure at once and you're more than likely to get gen rushed if you go by the survivor rule book instead of pulling out all the stops and doing what works for whatever killer you play.

  • I'm not quitting playing killer and when I play survivor the killers are just as bad as those survivors you speak of they want to talk trash and call you bad at the game when they lose and then immediately accuse you of being a swf even though they just sucked , moral of the story is both sides have ######### people and until you learn to play for yourself to have fun you're never going to, I personally don't care what anyone says I just got cursed out like 15 minutes ago for slugging at five gens with nurse and told I was getting reported , I may just play tombstone Myers and pretend to farm next game because ######### their fun Im gonna do whatever I feel like doing for fun

  • If you find someone who cares let me know

  • The problem I see with most survivors in my games as nurse is that they treat it like any other killer instead of breaking LOS and making distance they try to loop a tile or they try and double back on every blink and those both are pathways to being an EZ clap, nurse does have counterplay but the most reliable thing outside of breaking LOS and making distance with unpredictable running patterns is having teammates that are committed to gens while someone is being chased, against a good nurse those gens had better be popping or it's a guarantee that you lose

I played her a lot of Tuesday. 4kd every time. You're welcome to come watch as well.

I'm not saying she's a top 3. Because she's not. But her teleporting is strong and makes her very good.

I agree I think she's at least high B tier maybe even A , her power can really confuse survivors and employing a hit and go strategy with her creates a ton of pressure, the manifest can help alot at certain loops as well and make it hard to predict exactly what she's doing, I've been having a pretty good time with her so far

  • It's probably not the best build but I've been running floods of rage, make your choice, corrupt intervention, and infectious fright, I've just trying to mix and match some of the new perks into my build here and there but honestly if you're still learning I wouldnt run perks or add ONS and stick through the rough patch and in a few weeks after you feel like you've got everything figured out then I would start playing around with different add ONS and builds because learning her base kit properly is the most important thing and you don't want to rely on crutches when you're starting or you'll feel like you have to have them in order to play her but if you take my advice and tough out the rough patch and go with nothing once you do run things you'll dominate most of your games with her because you were able to hold your own before it all

  • I'm enjoying her as well, I'm loving that I can visually see the confusion from the survivors in game, I feel like she can really put the pressure on when you use her correctly .

  • As a nurse main I'm thrilled she's back

  • Stop pretending like no killers are viable people cry way too much over nothing, I don't blame them for not listening when you have people saying things tbagging should make you exposed and other nonsense, somebody once made a post suggesting survivors should start on the ground and have to pick themselves up with a free unbreakable to start the game, survivors complaining about Noed, camping, tunneling etc.. why should they listen when more than half of the suggestions are from salty people who refuse to accept their mistakes regardless of what role they're playing? Yea I don't blame them they get so much ######### even when they do good things for us that it's safe to say the ignoring is well deserved

Sounds to me that you have no idea how many hours I actually have in the game!

There are other, more creative ways do keep this game alive than creating undetectable, unvisibile and silent killers with new annoying perks. If you don't understand the problems this is making, I feel sorry for you.

No I feel sorry for you, all those hours you claim to have and you can't handle new content you just want the same thing over and over that must be extremely boring

  • Hey that 2% came in clutch for me in the ptb so I'm not complaining , I was getting tunneled by a spirit and I got the speed boost right as she was about to swing near a exit gate and it was just enough to cause her to whiff and secure my escape so even though it's not a whole lot it can definitely come up big when it matters and I don't even want to think about if I had hope stacked with it that would've been nasty

  • Sounds to me like you need to up your skill, survivor really isn't that bad and people like myself actually enjoy having to figure out a new killer and having something different to play around, it's literally the only thing keeping this game alive is new content

  • Lol oh boy I haven't had a chance to play today but that sounds like a terrible idea, bringing back the old fence infinite with both the car pallets and the pallets in the school are totally balanced now hold my beer while I 5 gen run this killer in one spot of the map without having to waste pallets lmao I'd say it will be Killswitched within a week once they realize how broken that loop is without the breakable wall

  • The problem was with the old balanced landing giving you 75 percent stagger reduction even while exhausted, if they would just lower that down to like 30 percent and bring the old balanced landing back it would be okay and wouldn't be too overbearing and people would see it more often in the game, I still run balanced landing even though it's not the best perk

Honestly the best point made about Spine Chill is this, its weird and counter intuitive to have Spine Chill detect Killers who are undetectable.

But it isn't detecting them it's tell the survivor they're looking in that direction but are they on a different floor of the map? Are they on someone else? There's alot of unknowns to the perk that make it a situation where you have to make a choice on which direction you're going and it could or couldn't be the right decision, they might have it light up and leave a gen and an entire area while you're not even going there and on someone else

  • @Mat_Sella said:

Spine Chill isn't the issue, the issue is Undetectable.

Undetectable should mean what it means, unable to be detected. This should include perks like Spine Chill and Premonition.

No one's saying Spine Chill/ Premonition are broken, its that stealth killers specifically don't have a space due to very readily available detection perks.

It goes beyond being strong, some people like me want to actually scare survivors so we all can have fun. Hard to be scary when "Scaredy Cat" is lighting up in the UI the moment I start approaching. Yes, I can moonwalk, but that defeats the purpose of being stealth in the first place. A stealth killer shouldn't be scared of even looking at a survivor, that's just really sad.

Detect Doctor or Billy all you want, but in order for stealth killers to be viable and scary, Undetectable needs to bypass all detection

I think it's healthy to keep spine chill the way it is because it doesn't tell you which direction you're coming from and you can easily still scare people because unless you're in a wide open map where they could see you anyway, they don't know how close you are or where exactly you're coming from they could easily run into you making the wrong choice, also I want to point out they could just be running one of the meta perks people complain about all the time so at least they aren't running a busted loadout and they decide to bring something like spine chill instead

  • I do it only if the killer has been toxic hitting people while on hook and nodding their head and such because then they deserve it , by all means camp tunnel and slug all you want but the second you start taunting in the match you lose all rights to cry about survivors doing it back and I'm 100% going to BM if the killer initiates it

You know nothing, Kapper. I basically just started the game and am already halfway through devotion 3 on my way to 4. Baaaam!

That's why I don't watch any of that content or give it any attention apart from a bit of mockery. There's people that enjoy it which is fine but It's funny to poke fun at it

There's dbd content out there that doesn't need to resort to clickbait

I'm not sure if this is a hacker or not but I saw someone the other day on twitch that was devotion 100 and they claimed it was capped at 100 but I'm not sure that's even possible to do in the time frame since devotion has been out, I'm devotion 38 and admitting I don't play the game like I used to but that just sounds a bit high

  • MMR is all bullshit anyway they're just matching you with the fastest possible match with the best connection, there's no other way to explain the randomness of the matches, you could demolish good survivors only to turn around and get ones that can barely play the game and same with killers I could escape on a Rank 1 killer with thousands of hours, only to get a killer the next match who's getting spun like a top all over the map and can't hit anyone even if there was a million dollar cash prize for it.

  • Well people are gonna play however they can get enjoyment it doesn't matter if we all think it's the most boring or dumb play style if they're having fun then that's all that counts, and survivors are finally understanding that to counter the new DMS & scourge meta they need to genrush to make chases count before the gen is blocked , unfortunately when you highlight the glaring gen speed issue the game has always had, it makes some less skilled killers feel like in order to compete they need to take someone out asap to make the scales tilt in their favor, not everyone is great at the game or likes to play top tier killers and unfortunately we have to accommodate for those people as well and make sure they have fun too because that's all anyone here is trying to do at the end of the day, even though admittedly I've been tired of all the crying in this game for quite some time.

  • Because it's a boring game unless you're playing killer or in a swf , survivor and killer are both rinse and repeat play styles, swf is only fun because you can talk to friends while you play other than that it's boring too because you're doing the same thing over and over again, I've got 11,000 hours in this game and I play it maybe 1-3 times a week anymore because after a couple matches I'm bored I'm ready for a new game to play, you can only do the same thing so much before it gets old. If they really want to bring players back come out with the new game modes we were promised 3 years ago

Yeah, breakable walls FTW xD, so please tell me:

    * For what was Cowshed introduced? To counter every killer in the Game except Nurse?

    * Puzzle Map? To counter lack of pallets on maps? XD.

    * Gas Heaven? What do you needed to counter when you designed that map?

    * Second Chance perks? To counter Killers easy killing Potato survivors?

Were all this ideas intended when devs team were developing this mechanics?

Just go play with bots if you have this much trouble Im sure you'll feel right at home from the way you're talking, nobody is gonna hold your hand in this game it's either get good or get dunked on just like any other multiplayer game.

  • The title of this post should be, "Telling everyone I'm bad without using those exact words"

  • I'm assuming you just watched a video where a well known streamer was using braindead tactics to cheese kills and prove sbmm is a lie , If you haven't saw it you should look it up it's pretty funny and most people probably know who I'm talking about but I don't want to get the comment removed so I'm not mentioning him by name, it's very possible some people are doing it as a protest but I honestly haven't had that problem alot myself, most killers who camp in my games only had like 1-2 gens left with that being their first hook of the game and in that situation can you blame them? It's not their fault that BHVR ignores actual skill and ranking and just matchmakes you with anyone it can, there's no reason why survivors with thousands of hours should face a killer with only like 100 hours and vice versa it's just not a stable system to keep a playerbase and it's starting to show

  • I just laugh it off and make a joke in the endgame and tell them to bring me some marshmallows next time or that they put their tent up wrong

  • With the way the killer meta has shifted to DMS and Scourge, the new survivor meta is about to go back to the old genrushing style builds to counter the regression and time off gens, every second on a gen will count because the games will stall out if you're lazy with gens and the killer is good at applying pressure, you need builds to get as many gens done as possible in order to make the chases count to counter the new meta

  • Yep I've been doing this its actually pretty oppressive towards the survivors, I don't know if anyone else is noticing but I've been seeing alot more DCs when I run DMS and scourge together, it's like 1 in 4 games someone is gonna DC as soon as they realize the combo either that or there's been alot of connection issues today but I haven't had a issue yet

  • It's not anyone's job to make sure the other side has fun, this is a slasher game if I want to tunnel slug and camp for 5 gens then I will, and if I want to gen rush and click and tbag at the exit gates I will and I don't care how upset anyone gets, if they're too immature to handle a loss in a video game then maybe they shouldn't be playing.

  • More people are playing blight because of swish's tourney where knightlight 4kd a good tournament squad with 4 gens still up and nothing super op, he was good about not committing to the wrong chases and it showed

  • @Aneurysm said:

The dwight in that video was later banned. You may think he was simply good at the game, bhvr seems to disagree.

Well if he was I'm a bit surprised it looked like legit gameplay to me but if BHVR says he hacked then that's what it was, I don't understand why he would hack for such a subtle effect, if they really want to stop hacking they should set triggers in the game that are impossible to achieve with any perk combo and if something goes beyond that and it's not a confirmed bug have it immediately kick them from the game until further review

  • Oh please enough with that video, that guy wrecked him and he can't accept he overcommit to the chase and made bad decisions there were three times he couldve gotten Dwight while he was dead on hook one time he set a crow instead of m1 during the shack window vault and the other two he literally mindgamed himself I'm just gonna throw this out there for people that haven't been around since release, hes not a very good killer don't get me wrong he's not bad but he's not really all that great Otz is just a friendly good hearted dude that interacts well with his community and is well liked and respected in the community for the way he presents himself, any tournament he's been in he's been demolished by a good squad.

1 … 25 26 27 28 29 … 60
