This is usually the result of bad killer game play. Bad killer games do not provide much altruism (low points) mixed with resorting to EGC camping. Killer practically has to.
So survivors on the edge of winning can not wait to get out to avoid the unfun coming their way when a killer is bad.
The alternative of staying in a match to increase survivor bloodpoints and knowing they will get out is often interpreted as bullying the killer. It seems the best move is just to leave.
With the way the killer meta has shifted to DMS and Scourge, the new survivor meta is about to go back to the old genrushing style builds to counter the regression and time off gens, every second on a gen will count because the games will stall out if you're lazy with gens and the killer is good at applying pressure, you need builds to get as many gens done as possible in order to make the chases count to counter the new meta
