Unpopular opinion but I believe it's a balanced map for both sides

A swf can have 1 person bring this perk and everyone can drain their tool boxes and just have 1 player constantly replenish them. The 50% reduction speed helps this out because they will just keep getting more skill checks. Replenish tool box, give to team mate rinse and repeat.
That person doesn't need to worry about their gen progress when they can just keep replenishing over and over until the games won. This perk is both trash and busted at the same time. For solos this perk is worthless. For swf? rip gens.
This still isn't logical because you would then have to run all the way across the map to a single survivor everytime they're at 4 skill checks and then sit there and wait for them to get one to refill the box because it's automatic at 5 skill checks it doesn't just stack up beyond 5, then get your toolbox back and run to a different gen that's not having a 50% reduction to the speed , all that time is for nothing and someone is occupying the killer during all this wasted time and essentially did it while two other survivors are acting like little kids who can't reload a nerf gun by themselves and wasting what would end up being minutes by the end of the trial doing nothing but running and waiting for a debuffed survivor who's the only one truly committing to a gen to help them out.... You don't see where it's a time waster?
-
@Spirit_IsTheBest said:
Still very strong, now it works as many times as you want if your good at hitting great skill checks. The 30 seconds is not that big of a deal really.
Thirty seconds is a big deal in this game and why in the world would you even bring the perk if you're good at hitting skill checks? You would be essentially debuffing yourself the entire game where you can do it multiple times, Explain in what imaginary world this perk is even worth considering over built to last or even at all for that matter when you can't guarantee a chase or something productive during the numerous times it will activate and slow you down to a snails speed on repair?
-
@GannTM said:
If I’m reading it correctly, your repair speed is reduced for 30 seconds whether you’re on a gen during those 30 seconds or not. So it doesn’t seem so bad as it seemed but still not the nerf I would’ve given the perk.
That's even worse because now your aren't on a gen at all and then the killer may not even be chasing you so it's pretty much eat the repair debuff and try to move through it or don't do anything for half a minute, it's a dead on arrival perk it didn't need any changes because built to last was already stronger than the perk before they nerfed it into the ground
-
A little off topic here but I was thinking, They should have it where bots auto take over if they are AFK for long enough to get crows or same amount of time as killer, then they could touch the mouse or whatever and regain control of their character, this would make it to where you would have to work to be afk the whole match and ruin the game and also in a situation where you're still playing the game but something happens and you suddenly have to stop for a second you're not screwing your team or losing as much ground as a killer, this would make playing solo more enjoyable at least because if they aren't DCng there's one survivor who immediately afks because he hears a nurse or doesn't like the map.

you ever thought about why the devs won't add a separate queue for casuals and another for tryhards? i think because nobody wants to play with the tryhards, not even the tryhards themselves. the game's fundamentals are simply that bad. a dbd player has to accept the fact sooner or later that the game is very bland when it is played optimally.
I agree, It's a core design problem that can never be fixed this is why the game feels boring to a lot of people, it cracks me up reading comments from earlier in the thread of people claiming BHVR coddles survivors, where were they hiding the last 5 years of improvements for killers? Also anyone who is on these forums more than likely plays both roles you don't get this invested in the game and not play the other side so this "us vs them" they're spinning is invalid and makes no sense when you look at where survivors were 5 years ago to now.
-
With the changes over the years nurse feels too easy now, in today's DBD nurse would've never been released but back when survivors really were OP she was the trump card to hang in there with the best, but now anyone who mained her back when this game really was a one sided show will tell you now its a cakewalk or that's been my experience but if I'm being honest there's no way to fix her without completely redesigning who she is and changing everything about her I'd say personally she just needs to be left alone at this point she's already one of the least picked characters and anything further you might as well take her out

Puppers has some amazing older content on YouTube he's been here for years but once he had a stroke and was diagnosed with ALS you can watch him slowly degenerate over the years it's really tragic hes such a good dude, they have a cosmetic and a charm for him but noob3, puppers, and monto used to make a ton of videos he was one of the ones I was watching before the game really picked up steam and got to where it is now and he continued streaming even during all the misfortune he had, he will be missed by many and I encourage newer players who don't know him to check him out and look at his older content so you can see for yourself
-
It just depends really, it seems like anytime the killer is given a good chase at the beginning they always choose face camping but if they catch at least one person before gens start popping it's a normal game from there on out, some people face camp because they know me and some don't facecamp at all because they try and 12 hook you.
Now rarely do I see players who facecamp just to do it but when I do they're always running perks like deadlock to buy them time so they can camp and possibly get one more.
-
Puppers was one I always loved seeing in the fog from the beginning when I first started till now, while this is an extremely sad situation I'm sure the puppers we all know and love is gonna be in a better place much happier, the courage it's taken for him to keep streaming for these last couple of years is immeasurable and he was doing it for all of us not caring if people were hating or not, I just hope that he goes peacefully and happy, @Peanits you guys should make a puppers skin for Dwight in honor of him and not just a shirt the whole shabang for a man who supported you guys like he has even on his deathbed bringing joy to people through the game

Like I said your point is invalid and makes 0 sense, a person using a perk and doing totems shows their MMR lmao, the most biggest nonsense I ever heard. But here you are qqing about the much needed anti face camp mechanic, so it shows your MMR too =)
The fact people think mmr is accurate enough to be considered a legitimate system makes me laugh

Can anyone show me any video record of a killer defending 3 gens from the start while the survivors cannot do ANYTHING about it and being held hostage for an infinite amount of time ?
In the CURRENT meta.
Thanks.
It's absolutely still possible to achieve the gens spawn too close together there's always an area with 4 gens close together and killers like skull merchant and doctor can hold a area based solely off their power and not chase potential, my proof? The developers themselves have made it a bannable offense to use the Doctor to hold a 3 gen for an extended period of time with madness without chasing and just preventing survivors from any interaction in the area and there are threads you can find yourself confirming this and not because Doctor is OP or strong but because the way his power works can be abused in those situations easily if he chooses to just hold one area and not actively leave and keep force madness repeatedly,
That being said there are only a handful of killers who have this potential and the rest don't possess the power to do it and it's on the survivors for allowing it if it's not a killer that can by default hold a 3 gen based off their power

Like i said though, you can't KNOW its going to be a hit squad. So you HAVE to bring your best stuff, and play your absolute best, and scummy as possible and tunnel/proxy camp at the right times. Because if you don't do that from the get go, and they turn out to be a hit squad, you lost. This is why they need to be telling us when we are playing against SWF.
Maybe YOU lost if you didn't bring your best but not everyone is the same and not everyone needs meta perks and strategies to win against a good squad, that's you speaking from personal experience not considering the factors of what killers are being played, if I'm playing trapper then that's a no brainer to bring good stuff and use scummy strategies because he sucks and isn't a good killer it's a little different than playing nurse, blight, or Wesker where you could literally be perkless and snowball a good squad if you play your cards right

-"How often, realistically, does one get matched with these SWF kill squads? Unless you're high MMR..."
Once is enough to make many people turn off the game instantly for the rest of the night.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3435610#Comment_3435610
-"the forum is in tears because now you actually have to go pressure the gens you're complaining are being rushed"
The problem is when you see players with 7000-10000 hours who get absolutely rushed when they go from chase to chase to chase playing very efficiently.
If the professional players have problems then how is average joe noob killer going to fare? There's a reason nobody wants to play killer : the game is less fun than it used to be for the role.
-"Not every team is a hit squad"
You're right and you're wrong. Most people who are playing DBD in a SWF who have thousands of hours play massively better in SWF. What does playing in a SWF "cost"; in other words what do you "lose?" You lose nothing. What does the killer gain? The survivors play better with voice coms, have more coordination and the killer gets a more frustrating game where they are likely to get fewer points.
Why doesn't the killer get +2 perks when they play against SWF? When I talk in a SWF I'm getting the value of at least 12 info perks. That's on the level of cheating. So then why doesnt the killer get +4 perks?
I would never dodge a SWF if I got 4 bonus perks of my choice that only activate in case of SWF. You could do the same for solo survivors but only give them info perks ( rookie spirit, bond, kindred, alert, etc).
Nobody in this game is perfect and this game isn't a skilled game at this point in time , maybe it's because I have darn near 13,000 hours that the game doesn't feel hard I've been here since the beginning, but these hit squads you're talking about are like 4 percent of the playerbase they really aren't that common because most of the time there's always at least 2 survivors who aren't the best in chase even if they have thousands of hours, the level I have to try to depends on what killer I'm using at the time like if I'm playing nurse they might as well just DC I've quit picking her up because it immediately turns me off the game when I beat a squad at 5 gens, one thing I'll recommend for a lot of the killers struggling is to find a tournament group that likes to practice and take turns playing killer, you'll figure out exactly what you're doing wrong as a killer, I tried facing team oracle with Demogorgon one time and it didn't go very well for me but it taught me what I was doing wrong and what I needed to improve on and in fact there are a few tourney squads that ask me to scrim because they know I play a variety of killers and I'm a decent survivor, I'm nowhere near the best but knowledge is power in this game because there arent a lot of skilled plays to make it's what you know and how you use it

Problem is, killer doesn't know if the match is going to be chill. You HAVE to play like that from the get go, because if you don't and they are one of those SWF kill squads, by the time you realize that, its too late and you lost.
Not every team is a hit squad, most swf are still bad at the game and just because bad killers dodge lobbies doesn't mean swf is a problem, these are the same killers that dodge items and outfits it's absolutely ridiculous people are this upset that face camping is getting nerfed when everyone knows it's a cheap strat that unskilled players use and now they won't be able to just sit there like a sleezeball and ruin the game , the forum is in tears because now you actually have to go pressure the gens you're complaining are being rushed it's classic after people have been making gen stall perk builds and face camping for months now.
-
It's fine because proxy camping is still gonna be strong which I'm fine with proxy camping I'm just against full on face camping where you ruin the entire game for everyone else and they're forced into the most boring game ever or throwing the game to die because you want a interaction other than m1 the rest of the trial
-
I'm ready for these changes, alot of people are complaining about it but I'm looking forward to it because both roles have been in the most stale boring place the last year and neither role really feels challenging or rewarding anymore, killer isn't hard right now and survivor is only hard when you get dummies playing solo who can't read a hud and you get beat by your own team, I've honestly been burnt out as of recently though I've been here since day one and 12,000 hours later lol I've been on a break and this is what would make me actually wanna come back is the new chapter along with these changes that improve the other meaningful interactions in the game

Tbh the fun of the killer matters too, but hook grabs are just clunky and should go.
Again, people wouldn't stress out over denying killers kills so much if killers were rewarded for hooks more than sacrifices.
This isnt directed towards you specifically because I know you're saying they shouldn't be a thing but for those arguing "fun" because it's so much fun to just stand there for an entire match camping right? Bringing the fun factor into this Convo is a joke when it comes to camping, they're ruining the game for everyone else involved and losing if the survs actually do gens and we're calling that fun now? No wonder the player count is in the 29,000s I can't imagine why people wouldn't be having fun playing the game

Being in good health doesn't give you an aura of invincibility to be grabbed. Especially if you're being grabbed by a crazed killer driven by an unknowable cosmic horror.
A crazed killer that's apparently just standing there not moving or doing anything to fit his description, they definitely need removed or changed to only injured grabs so we can end these boring ass games where a killer gets salty over a pallet stun and throws the whole game to stand in front of someone, it's no fun to rush gens with no interaction or chase because the killer sucks so bad he has to stand there and secure one while the other survivors get an m1 simulator the rest of the trial
-
DBD will still be playable but it's already treading into the dead game territory and for all the people acting like it's not then explain to me why you have to go back 3 whole years to find a average player count lower than the current one? Granted this time of the year is always the worst for this game there's no denying that the anniversary chapter has to be a hit for this to continue to be a focus for this company, even if it does die you'll still be able to play it people get confused by what others are saying when they say "dying game" they aren't saying it won't be playable they're saying the player base is receding down and with all the licenses this game has it's probably running out of ones that it can afford or would be interested resulting in no more updates due to declining players and already having 7 years of content, there aren't millions of people playing this game and on steam right now the average is 29,000 players for the last 30 days which is a piss in the bucket compared to other games BHVR help with they do a lot bigger projects than DBD

Would anyone like to guess how many of them held a 3-gen?
Would anyone else like to guess how long the games were?
I think I figured out why some people enjoy playing her that way. One of them was streaming and had a "Skull Merchant Rage DC counter" on display and when I asked them what it was for they said something along the lines of, "For the ragequitting Survivor mains who throw a tantrum whenever a Killer is winning".
Yeah, just venting, not meant to be taken super seriously. I still think she needs to be completely re-designed. I really should stop playing Survivor as well lmao
Lol yea they throw a tantrum 40 minutes into the game after the killer has refused to chase anyone or leave a 3 gen since the beginning of the trial, they just stand around a 3 gen and let all the others pop and then camp the ones left, inb4 "survivors 3 genning is their fault" yea really not anymore since the devs put like 4 gens always within close proximity of each other, you just pick the area with the most gens to camp and you've created a stalemate with certain killers right off rip
-
No it's on PC also, it's a free game but I don't think it's as good as DBD in terms of gameplay but certain aspects are better

@saym said:
The answer is that it is becoming e-sports. I say it over and over again. Show me the player's skill rating. And make rank MMR work. it's not working now. Finally, separate Ranked Matches and Casual Matches. Now the population of DBD players is decreasing.
This game doesn't take skill you just hold a button and run in circles, or in the killers perspective you just follow someone you're already faster than and click a button, people wanting this game to be more than a party game need to understand this whole game has to change to make that work where actual "skill" can be accounted for, in this game you don't control your teammates and not everyone is team oracle all it takes is 1 survivor not doing anything against a good killer for the rest of the team to suffer regardless if they are playing well or not so how can we honestly say anyone has a skill rating when either side could be boosted higher by something that has no correlation to skill? The only way to make this skilled would be to add a solely ranked mode and change some of the core elements of the game which they wont do this late in because it would involve alot more than simply tweaking a few things.
-
The game peaked with the first resident evil chapter and ever since then the numbers are slowly fading back down to what they were a few years ago only jumping when a chapter drops, when this month is finished the count will probably drop below April of last year it's still averaging part of March right now with it , this time period is always the toughest for player numbers but if there isn't a big chapter release that people are excited for the game is going to continue downhill and really fast it's going to take alot to get some people back on here
-
Most casual players probably don't even come to the forums, I define a casual gamer as someone who only plays like once a week but either role can be casual this game is super simple for both sides, you just run in circles and press m1/2 depending on what you're doing

Well consider this.
If a youtuber/creator did a video on tips/tricks/guides/techs, etc. How many views do you think it'd get?
Now compare that to a clickbait drama/big topic you know a lot of people will click for, b/c it has to do with game balance & the future of the game the viewer is focused on (in this case, DBD).
There's a very big reason why they do what they do, its because its what works. Majority of players would click on the 'game is dying' video over the other.
Its the same thing that happens with other games, most recently its Diablo 4 since the release is coming up in less than 2 months.
Put yourself in the perspective of a content creator and it makes 100% sense. I'd do it too.
In that same perspective think about how many people also parrot the content creators and follow suit with what they do right down to playing the other games they're watching them play instead of this one

They hoped to keep it going for 5 more years because a 5 year lifespan is an optimistic but realistic view on how long they can keep a game going.
If, after those 5 years, the game is still successful, it is a rare example of a game with a longer-than-normal lifespan and they will re-evaluate how long they can keep the game going.
DBD has achieved that status. They're not going to drop support for the game any time soon, DBD is BHVR's biggest game. They don't have any other games they can pivot to. They literally just signed a movie deal, lol.
BHVR is apart of plenty of games not just DBD they may not be the main developers of some of those games but they still are involved with a lot of other things and keeping these licensed characters cost money, DBD has been slowly dying since the first resident evil chapter hype wore off, but the time will come where it ends and you'll still be able to play it because of dedicated servers but what I mean is no more updates and bots that join on a disconnection, that is how you know this game is officially dead and I'd say another year and some change with new chapters being added they will probably stop there and leave cosmetics in the store for sale and still have the events but with no new content, people are delusional if they think we're gonna be seeing over 50 killers and survivors on each side in this game and the game continuing on, they would drop a DBD 2 before they let it get to that this janky game couldn't handle it all
-
@Pulsar said:
I actually feel like it's fairly warranted.
If this patch goes live, it kills off a LOT of casual players.
It takes a lot of veterans who are already burned out from the last 6 years off it as well, people acting like this game will never end are delusional, BHVR said 4 years ago they "hoped" to keep it going at least five more years and we're coming to that deadline where eventually the higher power in that company will decide to no longer update it and keep it where it stands , the game will more than likely still be playable but I predict the 8th anniversary is gonna be the last where they announce it's ending, and by then they will have some real competition or announce a DBD 2 (which I doubt will happen)

This is the issue. Low mmr games and high mmr games already have a pretty clear split. Solo q and weak teams get rofl stomped by killers and high mmr swfs dominate because they genrush so effectively.
Nerfing healing makes low mmr surv so much weaker while not affecting high mmr much. And nerfing regression likewise won't affect low mmr because survs never get gens done anyway, but high mmr killers will suffer so hard because they'll have no viable way to keep up with gen speeds unless they run all the regression under the sun.
That split is just being made wider. So experience will just be miserable for mid/experienced killers and worse for brand new survs, who arguably are the most important group of players because they're extremely important for the growth/stability of the game.
" Low mmr and high mmr games already have a clear split" no I disagree there BHVR has never been good at matchmaking you could win twenty matches in a row and still get bad killers and the same goes for survivors I could get twenty 4ks in a row and still get paired with low mmr survivors with 40 hrs in the game that's just the way it's always been though, until they can fix that they're just making changes in the dark pretty much to just stir everyone up and have them distracted at the fact this game is boring in the current state

Sorry... I did bring that up...
Talking about skill... yes there isn't much that one player can do to express it... and reaching Iri 1 "isn't that hard"
Perks and Maps have something to do with it IMO
So what if they did make a Perkless mode... would it work or no???
I would rather see new game modes and new ways to kill and escape, not the same old hold m1 for the whole match, but something more interactive that brings life back into it , or even have the 2v8 people were asking for, forge mode to build maps and then have the community submit to be ranked by the rest of the community on a dev stream that the winner each month has their map added to the pub rotation and then once there's enough winners you could have a community choice rotation, etc.. there are plenty of ways they could revitalize this game and they're instead choosing to make it boring hoping we switch to get on their new game meet your maker

That sucks....
When did I bring up stacking?
You brought up how if you're not seeing how you stack up against rest then it's like running on a treadmill, and I was just pointing out this whole game is like running on a treadmill because there is very little skill involved in this game once you figured it out and when you play a real game that actually takes skill this one seems like a joke to have people acting like it's even up to par to be really competitive, and in that sense this whole game is just like repeating the same level over and over again once you're broke in and used to it
-
@RaSavage42 said:
I'm going to say burnout
Also the fact that this game is too grindy... which leads to burnout
Learning the new Killer and perks... but that wears off quickly (be it cause the Killer isn't fun or perks aren't what we expected)
Chasing and Hooking being the primary goals for Killer and Completing 5 Gens and opening the exit gates and escaping being the primary goals for Survivors and not changing it makes burnout even quicker for some
Seeing the same perks being used match after match... burnout
Not seeing where you stack up against the rest is like running on a treadmill... burnout
As someone experiencing this right now this is for the most part right but the game is just in a bad place in its current state and a lot needs to be done to fix that, the whole where you stack up part I disagree with because once you go to games that actually take skill this is a joke listening to people talk competitive, they think they're better at holding a button than someone else and running in circles, the skill is pretty much non existent unless you purposely stack the odds against yourself or meme and that's for both sides really, it's either genrush or die and as killer either run a mid to top tier killer and stomp everyone with an op build or run a low tier killer with a meme build and get rolled part of the time and I say part of the time because half the games survivors are bots and they do stuff to get themselves killed faster.

Both killers and survivors got buffs and nerfs, and both sides are complaining lol
What people like you fail to understand is that perks aren't necessarily the issue, all of the perks that were changed literally affect me in no way because I don't run them, but when you take the most boring aspect of the game which is holding m1 and you amplify that on top of promoting styles that force stalemates in the game it's killing the game , this game is already stale for people who have played a lot and you add nothing new to keep people entertained and increase holding m1 times to top it off, anyone who has played this game for years is fed up and switching it's a no brainer when better games are already out that offer a more engaging experience other than holding a button and calling it skill

People just like to hate on the devs (in general, not only BHVR) - and especially certain Content Creators like to rile up the community against them even when they supposedly give positive feedback they are throwing in some shade.
plenty of the things in this dev update have been asked for for a while - especially the hit-and-run playstyle to make a comeback. But now it’s genrush that will be a problem? This is a great example of lose-lose situation for BHVR.
also - it’s a PTB and some changes might not make it to live at all and some might be intentionally be too much to see the impact but are never meant to make it to live to begin with (hopefully basekit healing time is amongst these).
overall, them trying to bring more minor changes to various killers in midchapters is huge and doesn’t get enough praise! Sure Billy didn’t deserve the nerfs to his best addons without significant compensation - but again, maybe this doesn’t make it into live and he might get minor changes/buffs this midchapter or on the following.
I've always stuck up for the devs until now, how about if I put it like this so people in your mindset will understand, years ago we were given a survey about the game and it inquired about new game modes and new features like forge modes and 2v8 and all that jazz on top of the bot practice matches, the former devs that have all quit now acknowledged the community responded better than they expected and they DID plan on implementing them in the future but never would give a date on when it would happen ya know classic BHVR stuff, and now years later the game is completely watered down to a cut and dry playstyle where you're holding m1 the whole game as a survivor if you're trying to win and as a killer your sweating if you wanna win in a really boring playstyle though that gets old fast, I've wasted over 12,000 hours on this game and plenty of money for it to be in a worse state without the game modes we were told we would get years ago to help this game thrive with variety and they've somehow managed to make it not as fun due to killer designs and general gameplay mechanics that sometimes result in stalemates with 40 minute matches
-
People like me are immune to meta shifts we've all been here for thousands of hours and we're all getting tired of BHVR lying, what happened to new game modes that were supposed to be developed 4 years ago? You mean to tell me that you're still happy with this boring #########? It's too cut and dry now with the way everything is, you can't have a chill game and meme around because this braindead community thinks it's "toxic" BUT when you sweat and win you're a "toxic try hard who needs to touch grass" not only that but some people literally hide all game still even years later and then you have people who think face camping is fun when they just stand there wasting your time, and don't try playing any killer that takes skill because once you're good with them 1 survivor DCs out of every match due to entitlement refusal to play, these survivors nowadays dc unless you the worst killer in the game with a meme build it's honestly a joke how out of touch the devs are they take anything fun for either side out and it's slowly just gotten more and more stale to the point if you play any other game and I really mean ANY other game you will have more fun than you will on this joke of a game

Come back play for a few days take another break. Each time make your break longer and longer. Where you're playing less and less. It'll make those games more fun when you do come back to play. It works for me
Everyone has a different take on having fun.
I too find a killer standing at the hook doing nothing all match to be boring and un fun too, but to that killer its fun and their having a blast.
It is what it is.
There's nobody to blame but the devs in this situation, this game is boring these days because the forced play styles , you're either genrushing and surviving easily or meming and dying after a long match, and as killer you're either sweating on people playing casual or youre meming with a low tier killer and it's not fun anymore the devs have ruined this game , ive only played 1 time in the last week due to other games better than this being out and I have no desire to play this game like I was , after nearly 7 years and 12,000 hours this game for me is in the dying stage and unless some major things are done to shake the game up I don't see it having a eighth anniversary I see the servers being left on and this game no longer updating with bot matches on both sides and bots joining after a disconnect

I don't know how that would reduce tunneling, but I do think that DBD needs SOMETHING else in terms of an objective. Like jeez, the game is 5 years old and there have been NO changes to core gameplay.
The game will be 7 years old in June and I 100 percent agree with you they promised new game modes years ago and then swept them under the rug and pretended like they never said they would do it, if they would add new ways to survive and kill while adding new modes to play the game without having to hold m1 and run in circles the whole game would get a giant breath of fresh air and bring a lot of people back to the game that have left, this game is on course to die currently I predict this is the last year for DBD before they stop updating and just leave the servers on to play, whenever they finally add bots for both sides and then bots for when people disconnect you'll know the game is finished because they were against doing that before but when the game is over and no more updates that is the only option to keep it going a little longer

How would you/can you even get in touch with another player that's on console and not on steam? I know you can friend them in game, but they don't see the chat, so how do you go about getting in touch with them someplace else to VC and things like that. Is that even possible? Thanks.
Either have them get discord or find them on the console apps on your phone and start a party that way with a earpiece under your headset for talking I play with console users all the time so I know it works

I have had just about enough of this game - any similar ones where the devs actually give a #########?
Id rather go to work than play it lately.
Whens that texas chainsaw game meant to come out?
There are plenty of fun alternatives despite what people will tell you even if it's not the same gameplay, midnight ghost hunt is fun, and phasmophobia is a good game as well, evil dead is fun but it's starting to die, sons of the forest just dropped and in my opinion that's a better overall game than DBD because you aren't doing the same thing on a repeat cycle game after game I mean let's be real, anyone who's played DBD since it came out probably can only handle a few matches of killer and survivor before they're bored and playing a different game I've caught myself playing less and less lately but I've got 12,000 hours this ######### was bound to get old at some point with no real breaks

I was doing a tier list and knight came up.
Without map of the realm (a brown add on that increases guard detection ranges by 4) he is easily the worst killer in the game as it's mathematically impossible to use his ability to catch people. An addonless sadako would do better.
But with map of the realm he's relatively alright.
Would you classify a killer as being decent/good if they have an add on like this? (and when does it become disagreeable to consider certain add ons like MDR?)
I disagree, I don't think he's the best killer by any means but I feel like knight has a very situational power for example if the survivor is around mid map and it's a open map then he's at a disadvantage with his power but at the same time on any map if you have them in a corner area of the map or anywhere near edge map its pretty much a free down if the knight player doesn't mess up and they're injured already, I feel like he's about a high c tier killer or depending on the map b tier but he's not the worst

Once per match.
On your death hook.
After getting healed.
Sacrificing an entire health state for it.
Let's not pretend you can just reset Sprint Burst every 20 seconds forever, from the start of the match, with no trade off whatsoever.
Lol they must not have read further than the first sentence or so on the perk and just assume it's broken, the only people really crying are those who can't live without eruption in their build, nothing else really changed that made a difference, though I will admit the new killer is kinda boring and leaves something to be desired , 3 genning is strong but that's about it really tbh, the survivors have more fun against this killer than you will playing as them because the power is more interactive for them but until you get down to like 1-2 gens left this killer is just a basic Barry pretty much

I do understand what you're trying to say, but im not advocating to avoid change entirely. I just wish to avoid perk options being removed by over-nerfing and making the meta even more stagnant than before, since variety is what we should be looking to encourage for DBD.
I also understand that the Killer role has gotten much better over time than it was before, and I appreciate BHVR for pushing for that, but I dont think that "we have it way better than before" should be an excuse to over-nerf things. We should be striving for Balance after all, and not just putting perks down to the level of current Ruin. Jolt/Gift of Pain should be the middleground we strive for.
This is an evolving game you're not meant to run the same build over and over again that's boring and stale gameplay, if they weren't constantly changing things this game would've died years ago only boosted players are mad about eruption because they won't be able to bully solo players into not being able to do anything, like I said I don't care if they left it or took it but seeing people this upset screams that it absolutely deserved a nerf, personally my squad says a code word with eruption "Jello" when you're about to go down and everyone sits up off the gen but solo players can't defend against something they don't know is happening and have no way to give a warning out and then an injured survivor runs up and they can't heal or anything and the other person if not on a gen would have no idea why and think they're being trolled it's unhealthy for the solo players more than swf because swf can avoid it all together

As someone who consistently escapes with no exhaustion perks you're 100% wrong.
They make the game easier but they're no where near mandatory.
I'm glad someone else thinks this way, you don't need eruption or dead hard to play this game and win, if someone feels they have to have a perk to play then it's a skill issue not a game balance issue

Just went to YouTube and found this, Gonna leave this here for people who think killers have it hard now this was the old brand new part imagine if there was one more in the game THAT ######### was broken, not the DBD we have now I don't miss these days at all I don't see how anyone could think killer is harder now when we had to put up with this like all the time back in the day it was literally up to the survivors back then whether you win and nobody can say that now

Sure the basic mechanics of the game have been improved for killer but are you seriously going to make the claim that the survivor perk meta has been shaken up anywhere near as much as the killer perk meta over the years? Doesn't Hex:Ruin and Pop getting nerfed to the ground ring a bell? Eruption is the latest such victim. Can you recall any survivor meta perk getting nerfed that hard? Even decisive strike is still viable in the meta as a backup second chance perk.
Ds isn't near what it used to be don't pretend like it still deserves to be meta, also boil over was nerfed in no time when it became meta just like mettle of man, COH is a joke now but can be good on endgame situations which I'll give credit to but in the meta of slowdown people are wasting too much time healing and it's not worth a slot anymore, balanced landing got gutted which it's decent now but there are better perks you could choose if you wanted and it used to be hands down the best exhaustion perk, sprint burst was the best originally because exhaustion recoverd while in chase which I'm glad is gone, self care is ridiculously slow now so when you get those randoms it's a gg pretty much because they're spending five minutes in a corner, object isn't that good anymore, sabo has a cool down and the hooks respawn way faster and at one point didn't at all, adrenaline is about to be reworked soon and it's already a one time thing, also some of the basekit changes that have been made on both sides over the years have directly affected certain perks strength and not just survivors but also killers have been on the bad end of it all as well and I'll admit that but it's a constant back and forth of changes meanwhile the overall game mechanics are smoother and the game is easier to play for both sides, my evidence? All the ######### above is no longer a thing and nobody has to deal with that anymore

I also forgot to mention Circle of Healing for good measure. Either way the point is that the killer meta is constantly targeted by Behavior's nerfs while the meta survivor perks are barely touched. That's where the complaints come from.
That's not even true though that's a biased opinion I've been here since the start and I've saw way worse is all I was getting at this really is a chill game these days and I used to have to sweat for kills, I don't use COH either I've been on reactive healing and a medkit lately it's actually a lot better than people give it credit for, I love off the meta builds

Ppl are upset bc yet again a perk is over nerfed and not balanced. I'm personally upset not because eruption getting nerf(I didn't even use it all that often to begin with. I'm more of a pain res, jolt and deadlock fan) but BVHR once again choice the easy and safe route when nerfing a overused or op perk. Instead just fixing the main problem of the perk they decided just to take it out back and put two in its head. Eruption now joins pop, ruin, and thana as perks that are completely useless and never be used again. Killers again has one less thing to choice from and will just use the next meta build till they decide to nerf that to the ground also.
It doesn't matter what role you're playing if you have to have a perk and feel like you can't play without it then that's a skill issue not a balance issue, I'm constantly messing with builds I'm nowhere near the best at either role but I know I'm decent and if I can do it and still have positive win rates on both sides then anyone else could too it's really not like this game takes a great deal of brainpower or skill to begin with if we're being honest about it, it's quite laughable people want to be so competitive like it's a skilled game compared to the other great games in the world

Now we are talking DH.
Lol what's the deal with dead hard? I never run that perk and it's like I'm getting it thrown in my face like I use it every game, I stand by what I said if you feel like you cant play a match without having a certain perk it's a skill issue no matter which side you're on this isn't 2017 DBD people are overreacting as usual nothing new to see here
