Perhaps it is just this community and some people lying comes naturally?

I'm still shocked that they thought telling me they were solo and then finding they were not... different people in two games!

It's probably because 90 percent of the players that ask that question start talking trash, make every excuse, start calling names etc.... I'm not saying they should lie to you but theyre probably just ready to move on to the next match and be done with it and not have to hear any nonsense for playing the game because at the end of the day it really doesn't matter because if you lost the match then you lost it's just that simple and vice versa when you win handily it doesn't really matter at the end of the day if they were a swf or not

  • As a fellow flashlight monkey I agree but it's because we've played the game so long that it's not fun to be serious 100% of the time and sometimes even if you get smacked it's fun to go for big plays, when you hit them it's epic lol I pulled off a blastmine CJ tech on a killer the other day and he sent me a friend request with big respect and we've been Swf'ng

  • The only thing holding DBD above water is the licenses they have in the game, if another game dropped tomorrow that had all these licensed killers/survivors, DBD would probably die because variety is what's helping it draw in players and stay running, many people who weren't here from the start probably found the game because of a licensed character being in it

  • I've played with some in the past but they're no longer active on here, I wouldn't know if I played with anyone else because names are often different on the forums, like mine for example I don't go by this name in game

  • I wouldn't say that, you don't know what map he was on or anything and Myers sounds like he's breathing through a megaphone, it's very possible to outplay a scratched mirror Myers because of that and because he's so slow

  • MGLA can't be used anymore and people would just block everyone better than them like they did before, if you want a easy game the bots are dropping in like a week

Ah yes, the correction click. I presume that the increased time window is to "compensate" again its loss.

No not the correction click but in hard angles like that I'll click once as soon as the pick up animation starts to make sure I'm good and then get the save, this is still in the game right now I'm not sure what you're saying got removed? You mean like when you mess up and click after the fact and instablind?

  • @drsoontm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3261200#Comment_3261200

That's the thing. I always look up (and turn). As far as I was concerned it was dodged. And both times I was surprised to be pretty much insta-blinded. That's why the "tech" idea came to mind. I've killed, what, a bit more than 11k survivors? And these have been my first times seeing that.

I'll try to keep a video of it next time it happens, if only to deconstruct it.

They added it to the game about a year or two ago, also looking up doesn't do anything unless the survivor fails the save because you're locked in the animation, crouching for locker saves is another reason locker saves are getting removed, even if it's up against a wall if I have room to get beside it and crouch I can hit the save everytime on 80% of the lockers on maps , all you have to do is click once to confirm position before you go for the actual blind I mean I may as well put that out there since it's gonna be gone in a week lol

  • Actually you can play it without being banned as far as I'm aware but it's kind of annoying to do if I'm being honest, there are streamers like val who play on there occasionally or they'll boot it up whenever DBD is down because back then it was a client based system so there were no dedicated servers , it takes forever to find a match on there so be ready to wait a long time to play lol but it is fun to relive those days

exactly!!!!!!!!!! i just apologized and moved on although afterwards i started getting anxious that maybe the salty person reported me even though i didn't really do anything super super wrong and like half the swf literally gave up at like 2 gens so what else was i supposed to do lol

You shouldn't even have apologized people like this are the problem, it's a horror video game putting two sides against each other, why should either side care about how the other feels? People are way too sensitive these days

  • I disagree because I can have multiple snares but only one shock that I have to be in position to time correctly before a survivor is about to vault or drop a pallet to get use in chase , while with Freddy you could have a zone somewhat already there beforehand and the survivor get chased into it or also the ability to use it on the fly, but I'm not gonna say snares are super strong or anything because both of the killers are mid level on my tier list with Freddy being only slightly better because his teleport

  • Freddy is still better than him though and doc has a slowed movement while shocking where Freddy can use snares in multiple places at once , I don't think he should be able to use both at once but I do think Freddy needs looked at in other ways to help him out like having class photo built in and tweaking a few things to make the dream world more threatening without taking skill out of the equation like having snares and pallets both would do

  • Slugging is fine , what isn't fine is bleeding everyone out for BM purposes, I'll admit though I slug all the time I don't care if people like it or not, if I'm in a position to get multiple survivors down you're damn right I'm gonna take it lol but I'm not just gonna slug blindly with no real reason to do it I mean if other survivors aren't sticking around the area its a non issue really

This is really good information!! Any perk you would recommend in its place? Say for killers with lower mobility? Also I do like it because Gens get done so damn fast because of that

If you're playing a lower tier killer with no mobility a perk combo like eruption and dead lock are good simply because they buy you time, I will say though that BHVR has stated before that some killers are meant for beginners and the low MMR bracket , not saying they're impossible to win with but when you get to higher levels of play where gens are popping fast and chases are longer a mobility killer can make all the difference, with lower tier killers at the highest level you almost have to employ a hit and run strategy to be efficient

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

Damn these people on the internet know how old you are and what you watch online by just playing a match of DBD. Technology is scary 😰

Yea these salty DBD players know it all we have to watch out for them

  • It's a good perk don't get me wrong but against good survivors they'll know you have it after you go to them a couple times with no other indication they were there, and this will force survivors to split up on gens so discordance is always better with a mobility killer for that just for the situation that they find out and start trying to counter it , if you're a m1 killer with zero mobility this perk can actually hurt you more than help I guess is what I'm getting at

  • @OniWantsUrLocation said:

That change isn't nearly as bad as some killers expect it to be. First of all, we still don't know what the changed timing will actually look like. The devs mentioned a 0.25 second buffer after the animation to make it easier especially for "newer" players. But in the PTB you could blind the killer 0.01 seconds after the start of the pick up animation and still get the save in the end. But even if it is supposed to work that way: More flashlights also means potentially less survivors on gens. That's a possibility I'm very happy to accept.

With locker saves being removed most of those survivors will probably start genrushing and running a perk like flashbang for saves so they don't have to worry about franklins or the killer knowing they have one to look out for, also the new perks encourage genrushing so you'll probably be seeing a lot of that kind of stuff for at least a month after it drops on live servers

  • @neb said:

You're setting yourself up for failure. If people know you don't m1 at all, they'll easily camp windows and pallets. There'll be barely anything you can do about it, unless the loop is curvable.

This is true but if you're just learning the saw and not worried about all that then who cares? OP simply wants to get better with the saw it doesn't mean that he'll never m1 in a real match at some point, and going saw only alot of times is a lot of fun with survivors, they'll catch on and play around with you once they realize you're a saw only Billy practicing and if they don't you can always turn chat off I mean who cares everyone starts somewhere

  • The bots are gonna be different from real players anyway but me personally I use to have Billy as one of my mains he still isn't as bad as some people say but if you were good with Billy you used the saw alot and that grunt before the sprint is possibly one of the most annoying things they could've done for anyone playing him as a main it started giving me headaches eventually, but as for tips practice with a friend in the lobby with the bots and practice saw control in medium range loops like a truck or car loop , and once you get it down you'll be able to saw almost around the car and get them with some pretty insane shots it almost looks like you make a c without looping wide and get them on the opposite back corner that most survivors don't realize you can hit with precision, another one is to play meme builds and have a saw only rule in pubs and try to win while never m1 , you can turn the endgame chat off and just go wild , eventually you'll be hitting those cracked shots and winning without really sweating or at least that's how I learned Billy back in the day

  • I quit putting the p100 on because I was getting dodged, as for in game I noticed I'm left more if I run p100 , they'll initiate chase and try and play hit and run because even though prestige doesn't equal skill they see the 100 and respect the potential that I could loop them longer than they'd like

I have been accused a couple of times of tunneling when in reality the unhooker just immediately speed off to a very strong tileset or possibly shack, while the unhooked one tried to loop me at an unsafe loop.

As much as I don't wanna tunnel, I much less like to waste all my time and pressure by chasing some survivor futilely around shack.

When you go for a rescue attempt, either gimmy time to move a decent distance away or take off the heat and offer me a moving target that's not totally unattractive (sorry Jeff) ((I am just joking, Jeff is awesome)).

Oh and a word of advice for the unhooked: get the f out and I won't touch you, but if you want to be cute and tank a hit for your comrades that's the sign for me that you're OK to stay in the fight. It's pretty easy, you can get away and take your cake or stay, tank a hit and eat your cake right then and there. You can have your cake and eat it and then accuse me of your buttery fingers and the gnawing feeling of regret.

This could be something that OP maybe didn't realise, but that's just a stab at the dark.

My only argument to this is that if the killer wants to tunnel they will and it doesn't matter if the unhooked runs to the strongest tile in the game or two other survivors tank hits, if they want that survivor they'll keep going after them anyway and most of the time they're hanging around by the hook for the tunnel anyway, I'm not complaining about it because it is what it is but I'm just stating a fact that there is no set list to follow to make it not happen if someone wants it to happen it will and staying up is all you can try to do at that point and hope others are doing gens and not watching you loop for your life

  • You still see the aura with blast mine I did it today, maybe they hid in a locker or something?

  • @Johann84 said:

A lot of entitled survivors responding here wow

Dude you're probably just a bad killer , some of the people you're calling a survivor main are actually more killer sided , you didn't run any perks to help with slowdown or anything and you expect everyone to be bad at the game, you deserve the tbags and I hope they do it again with your attitude

Anyone noticed DS hack going about. Had someone use DS on first down with zero wiggle process and first time I picked them up. No DS at endgame in perk list.

Think it was a 2 man SWF & the other player was also a bit suspect. Fast vaulting back and forth over pallet with no run up. They did have resilience, but it looked way too fast for the resilience buff. Possibly using the perk to mask suspicion of a speed hack.

Sounds like the hackers found the old DS in the game and used it somehow, that's how DS originally worked you could use it first time you were downed with zero hooks

What makes you think there is dignity in playing with or against Survivors that screw around, sandbag, gamethrow, or engage in toxic behavior?

Funny thing is the bots are better than a lot of real people playing lol

  • MMR doesn't work that's the best part lol jk but it's never worked properly even though some people will point to it when they have troubles it really doesn't work because of the metrics they use to determine "skill"

  • BHVR should start giving the bloodpoints back for every unused offering considering it's almost never reusable and they claim "they'll be usable again next year" oh yea? Tell that to my summer bbq event offerings, my pustula petal offerings, and literally every other event except the red envelope which is the one time we reused them, I don't understand why we don't get bloodpoints back if they know they're gone forever, it's not like bloodpoints are real cash that they can't give back

Anytime somebody discusses why Nurse Needs nerfs (which I do think she needs), the Nurse mains come and cry about it because they want their free wins every match, pretty sad if you ask me.

Pretty sad people like you make this comment and never back it up with any evidence of them playing nurse good, she's got one of the lowest pick and kill rates for a reason, while she may be strong it's definitely not easy to get to the point where you're winning every game and if you think otherwise the door is always open for you to bring your nurse into a KYF and test it out

  • While I will say artist is good I don't think she needs any changes, but I do find it hilarious so many people who cry themselves to death about survivors on the forum have the nerve to come out and be rude to you, maybe they should take their own advice next time they want to cry about survivors because they sound the same if not worse majority of the time.

  • It's not bug abuse it's knowing that you can't break a pallet a survivor is vaulting, it's really on BHVR for tying those two actions to the same button when it should be different.

Cj techs looks like one to me, but i could be wrong... only BHVR can answer that.

If a killer gets CJ tech'd in 2022 it's a skill issue , it's so simple to counter there's no reason to remove it , you don't even have to run perks to counter it

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

Why would they be? CJ techs require a lot of effort to actually set up, and when they do they can be countered by just turning around and picking up the survivor

this isn’t like locker saves where you literally couldn’t do anything but leave the two survivors trying it and looking for the other two

Turning will just cause the survivor to vault once and get the save instead of having to vault back like a normal cj or at least that's what I do when that happens because there's no collision and I can get right in front, the counter I use is not to spam pallet break and just m1 them when they vault and start slugging if I can without throwing the game

Okay, first of all, DbD Mobile by BHVR is an entirely different entity from DbD Mobile by NetEase.

The NetEase version is rife with gacha transactions, doesn’t have all the content the BHVR version has, not to mention that the skins and mori’s look frankly bizarre most of the time.

The cosmetics are literally the only thing NetEase has over the BHVR version.

At least they get an option for different moris while we who pay for the game are stuck with what they give us and even that's about to go away

You can't be serious. Just play a different killer? This is a huge issue if you can't do anything against survivors just because you used a certain killer. This is the only community that excuses game states like this. And the jab at Tru3 as well, the only DBD streamer/creator who doesn't give awful takes.

You can do something about it though , and I don't take you seriously anymore because your entire existence is to cry about survivors and act like killers are all weak so you can tag someone else with your crybaby ######### instead of me, and I already stated they needed a hook down there but aside from that, nothing else really needs to change maybe besides one side door being already open so the killer doesn't have to drop and break it on the furnace side which is the side of the downstairs OP is complaining about because you can't carry a survivor out without breaking that door if they're on that side. BTW I was saying to play a different killer if you felt like you couldn't slug because they claimed it's impossible to slug even with 4 survivors crowded in the same area taking hits and trying to sabo

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Baby/Stock Claudettes and Dwights are the ones to avoid in my experience. Claudette will spend the entire match Self-Caring and Dwight will spend the entire match in a locker.

Lmao this right here, I always avoid baby Claudettes, they're the ones hiding not doing gens in a remote corner somewhere even when the killer is all the way across the map, if I see a claud with less than prestige 9 I'm always dipping out there's literally no point in clicking ready just to already be in a 3v1 from the start

  • If the time is right I always slug I don't care if there's 5 gens up or not, it's not my fault if they played bad enough to allow it

  • @Tostapane said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3247089#Comment_3247089

i doubt that people will stay idle to get slugged, not to mention that the survivors will literally recover faster than the killer slugging. Even running in a straight line the killer will need more than 22,5 seconds (if we put also bt into the equation or an exhaustion perk) in order to down someone, add also the fact that this building has 3/4 pallets and the window under the school and you'll get the idea why this isn't a good premise at all... as i said this imo will only worsened the situation. that building alone is already too much safe.

I'm sorry but if they're literally throwing in your face with sabo builds and everyone there taking hits for each other there's no reason why you can't get the slug unless you're playing a bottom tier killer and even then it begs the question why would you do that to yourself if you're at a level where your survivors are coordinating like that? Why not play a better killer? PH literally counters that entire strategy with his power alone, and that math is incorrect because there is no way to run in a straight line for that long inside the school, youre quoting what tru3 said in his experiment which is hogwash anyway because he sets it up with survivors far enough ahead from the start that no killer with half a brain will commit to a chase where the survivor has half a map length in distance already on you, in fact he makes them restart a few times in his "hold w" video because he was about to prove himself wrong

  • @Tostapane said:

title. it's one of the few maps when you can abuse of boil over without fearing of being hooked. it's sufficient bringing an offering for the basement (spawn in the killer shack) and you will be absolutely safe if you'll go under the school... this is extremely worsened when you are against a full premade, bring perks to add extra wiggle (the classic boil over/unbrekable/flip flop/tenacity/exponential), add eventual toolboxes and oak offerings to sabo hooks in the remote case that the killer will have some hook spawned near the school + map offering and you're pretty much screwed.

p.s: with the unbrekable basekit added in the future patches this will become FAR MORE worse

If they just put one hook in the preschool basement it would fix the problem, and if a whole squad is doing that once unbreakable goes live you can easily slug for the finishing Mori because they're more than likely all gonna be in the same area to take hits and sabo

So I have lag issues whenever I play this game (and PUBG). I'm giving the example of these two because this does not happen for me on any other games. Whenever I play DBD (or PUBG), I get huge lag spikes during the most crucial aspect of the game - getting hit by killer, or hitting a survivor. Pretty much the rest of the game runs smoothly but obviously this has caused me getting downed easily many times. It has also made me randomly disconnect from matches. This doesn't happen in other games, I can be in Wintergrasp in WoW Classic with 240 players and a lot are complaining about lag and I have barely any or none. I don't understand why it is just this game primarily. I am trying to figure out if it is my internet or something else. I did a speed test it ran at 41 mbps which seemed normal and it has a download speed of up to 200 and upload of up to 10. If it was truly my internet I'd think it'd be affecting other games too. It lags so bad on DBD to the point where I cannot have the internet open with a youtube video running or twitch (they must be paused). Especially twitch, that will make it lag like crazy. And attempting to stream makes the game barely even function since it lags so bad. I have been accused of being a lag switcher and someone even wrote on my steam profile that I purposely caused them to dc which I don't know how that's possible anymore since dedicated servers existed. I assumed they disconnected on their end. I have googled the issue and a common solution is the reinstall the game which I have done several times and it has not fixed the issue. Anyway I am just trying to figure out what the issue is here and if anyone could help me out since it is mostly this game that causes it. Thanks

If you're on PC go to your graphics settings in the DBD menu and turn it to low and turn auto adjust on, then in your PC go to your power settings and pick a power plan that prefers high performance over energy saving , also check if the graphics card needs a driver update for example if you use Nvidia pull up the gforce experience and search for a driver update outside of that the only thing I can think of is to clear up some hard drive space or make sure you don't have multiple programs running

  • You think reactive healing is bad? Well to each their own I guess , I love the perk lol

  • Lightborn counters the whole thing, iron maiden makes you faster as well, there are counters but nobody respects flashlight users enough because they're used to bots with a flashlight failing all the time, all this goes away when you respect your opponent having multiple flashlights, not only that but lightborn will show you the aura of someone who used blastmine on a gen even if they're far away it has more uses than just for flashlights, you would think with flashbangs stacking killers would be running lightborn anyway just to not put up with it

  • That Intel UHD graphics card is what it is, they're integrated and can't be upgraded on your laptop, you need a desktop where you have the option to upgrade or add a graphics card, on that laptop I'll guarantee you're on the lowest settings and out of full screen mode just to make it run properly, I would look into some cheaper gaming PCs they really aren't that bad and you could get one for the same as you paid for the laptop that you can upgrade over time

I dont think this can happen. It is about the delay you are granted now, if you were too early, the pickup animation will finish and then you get the save. If it was a save before, it will still be a safe after the change

Oh I see I misunderstood it at first but reading through I get it, so it's really no different than now in a way, people who are good are still gonna be good and people who need to learn now have an easier time, I don't see an issue with this considering lightborn, franklin's , fire up, and looking at walls are all viable counters to a flashlight as is and it's really not enough of a difference to consider it a buff

  • Actually it helps and hurts , sure it can be easier to some but it may cause a lot of people to be too early on their saves if the window to blind is increased because you cant blind while the animation is locked so something that may have been a save before may not be

I think people have a very loose definition of trolling, rules-wise I'd say you can consider refusing to participate to the normal gameplay as trolling, so offenses like teaming, holding others hostage, etc. which are considered griefing.

I feel like a lot of players see honest mistakes or lack of game knowledge as trolling, for example a teammate dropping a pallet on someone else's face, when maybe the person just did it without thinking.

So if I get a whole squad to head on and flashbanging the killer while t bagging the whole match it's not bannable as long as at some point we're touching gens to try and escape? That's the type of thing I feel like people are reporting even though I'm pretty sure it's not bannable

  • @Rizzo said:

It depends on the offense, you can find more information here:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

Keep in mind that most of these offenses require video evidence and a report on the Support website: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight

It seems there is a lot of confusion about what's bannable as far as trolling I've seen it pop up a lot lately, can you clarify what specifically is bannable when it comes to trolling? Ive heard a few different responses to this and from what I can gather , trolling to BHVR is something different than what people are reporting for

  • @itsquiet27 said:

I play in a region with 90 to 95% of troll players who ruin the match as survivor and I always get pissed off at them and report them for playing the way they do. I don't want to name the region I play on but I hope these reports actually mean something cuz these players are WAY to misbehaved and they love to throw games

Most of what you are probably reporting them for isn't what they consider bannable, you really have to go out of your way to get a ban in this game, unfortunately you can't decide how someone else plays the game they bought.

  • Just my opinion others may not agree , It's balanced at the very top with the best killers vs the best survivors but in the median range its more survivor sided and then at the very bottom it's more killer sided due to people just not being good at the game and it not taking a rocket scientist to play alot of killers, but in that median range where survivors are decent some killers will struggle a lot and not due to being bad with said killer but lack of gameplay knowledge like when to leave a chase and play hit and run or when to pressure an area you know they're trying to break up gens in, or just tile knowledge in general, but at the top level killers who are running strong characters and have said knowledge can hold their own and it can go either way really just depending on how fast survivors can get gens done while not three genning at the same time or throwing to try to make plays.
