  • Clown lacks map pressure and is prone to gen rush.

Therefore Ruin to slow down the early game. Pop goes the weasel for later game.

On top of that either pallet perks or tracking perks. I take Enduring because with Clown you often slow them down on loops and get the hit as they drop the pallet. So reducing the stuns is good.

Last perk is optional. Spirit fury/brutal strength are good for getting through pallets faster. M&A to reduce their chances of stealth play. Save the best for last to speed up chases too.

I do pretty good with these builds. 2 perks to slow down gen rush, 2 perks to makr chases extremely fast. It's just bam, bam, bam with him this way.

Dont forget 115% ms and the instadown, almost no cooldown on the chainsaw no powergage like spirit/legion and running into an object is almost a joke with it, even bubba suffers more.

More people get hit by Billy's chainsaw than Leatherface's chainsaw. Meaning its easier to hit survivors with the chainsaw that does 1 swing rather than the one that does 7 swings.

    It makes no sense. #nerfbilly

  • The toxicity ruins it. Swf who tbag after every pallet and disconnect so their friend can get the hatch. People who have no interest in playing normally and only want to bring purple flashlight/decisive and run around annoying the killer.

Killers who have no interest in anything other than standing around the the hook of the first survivir they catch or just tunneling the first person to death as fast as possible.

  • Damn. Those look pretty good.

So, you want to remove one of the very few depth technique in this casual game from the overall most balanced killer, cuuuuuz....?? U don't like it?

Disgusting, really disgusting what some people want. Please quit playing if Q and E is such big deal for you.

Sorry, but this post literally is to much. And if I remember correctly you made some posts about how you destroy the fun on purpose of other players. I hope you will go against the most sweaty tryhard billy's who perfected curving for the rest of all your matches.

The most balanced killer is the one who can cross the map in 5 seconds.

    Sure.

  • The game sells on toxicity right now. This is why people buy it. Don't expect BHVR to change this anytime soon.

  • Trapper - The Game

    Wraith - Rotten Fields

    Hillbilly - Lerys

    Nurse - Rotten fields/Lerys

    Doctor - Rotten fields?

    Leatherface - Rotten fields

Hag - Azarovs/red forest (both huge)

Pig - autohaven (harder to sneak on, lots of pallets)

    Clown - Rotten fields

    Spirit - Rotten fields

    Freddy - ?

    Legion - Rotten fields

    Huntress - Lerys/Rotten fields

    Myers - Rotten fields

    I sense a pattern here.

  • Can't wait for the changes. No more dribbling or having to avoid the obsession as killer, and a free F-U to any tunneling killers as survivod.

  • NOED adjustment

    Tbagging disabled.

  • Well had 2 games as killer so far...

    1) Toxic swf tbagging after every pallet

    2) toxic swf, tbagging after every pallet, disconnecting so his friend could get the hatch

Of course this will never change because Behaviour sells the game on this stuff, evidence - some of their chosen fog whisperers promoting this style of play.

Well I guess from now on I'll d/c too whenever I feel like it because why not right? or is the killer not allowed to? is that only for toxic survivors?

  • I like Clown but some people don't. I prefer the chasing in the game that's why. Hag is good though and is a much stronger killer.

  • I agree completely. He needs a recharge on his chainsaw like spirit. It's BS he can just run from point to point. 2016 design.

  • This is why solo survivor isn't worth playing at low ranks. Gonna have to grind yet again just to find enjoyable games.

  • What I don't like about sabo is the awfully timed skillchecks. It's almost inpossible to 99% hooks because as you get close the skillcheck pops up, so you either sabo the hook fully alerting the killer, or you fail the skillcheck, losing progress and alerting the killer.

Feels like the best you can do is 80-85% a hook.

  • It's going to be harder than a lot of survivor mains give it credit for but your friend is probably facing people who have a lot more time on the game but are low rank somehow. It's quite common. There are many people with 1500+ hours at rank 15.

  • I actually don't mind him that much. I'd take him over Freddy or Billy.

  • You know what I've seen tonight? Killers who use bloodlust tier 3 to catch people. Rank 2 killers btw.

Bloodlust and NOED, seems that's all you need to get to red ranks.

  • " it has requirements that must be fulfilled in order for it to be used and those can be avoided, and/or circumvented."

    Basically "don't get caught".

If it were as simple as killer mains made it sound where all 4 survivors could avoid being caught all game then they would be here begging for buffs and complaining the game is too hard. Sometimes ######### happens.

If you at least had 60 seconds to get away from the hook, heal up and try to play cautiously it would be something but you know full well if you go on that hook the killer isn't going to go far, they're going to hang around the hook so they can mori as soon as you're pulled off.

It wouldn't be as bad if they were less common than they are. Sometimes you have a long day at work and you just want to chill out. You try to play a game of survivor and first game - mori. Finish that, next game - mori. This isn't an exagerration either its happened to me plenty of times. I either stick to killer then or turn the game off. There are just too many moris floating around out there.

  • Because NOED has turned around thousands of games in an instant. Rancor never has.

I often get the Rancor obsession (despite bring no obsession perks, thanks game) and I've never been killed to it. It's so easy to stealth if multiple survivors are left.

Plus the old DS users deserved it.

  • @PiiFree said:

Just imagine for a moment what would happen if the Survivors in the highest rank possible were actually good. Crazy!

If you lack the fantasy, let me tell you what would happen: People would realize how incredibly broken the balance in this game is. They would realize that the "crutch" perks of Killers all rely on the incompetence of Survivors and that those perks are effectively useless in high rank, against skilled Survivors.

Ruin, BBQ & Chili, Spirit Fury & Enduring, NOED to name a few.

That's reality. Most Killer perks rely on the incompetence of Survivors, they don't reward Killers for good plays but instead punish Survivors for bad plays. As a result, they allow Killers to snowball quickly against potatoes but make next to no difference against Survivors that make no mistakes.

Now the Survivor perks are designed completly differently, they mostly allow Survivors to make up for mistakes and avoid punishment: DS, DH, SC, Deliverance, Unbreakable, ...

This leads to a massive balance issue in high rank: Killer perks become less and less effective the better your opponents are. They make no mistakes, therefore won't give you advantages. Survivor perks, however, become more and more powerful the better the Survivors are because they can nullify most if not all of of their mistakes with help of those perks.

It's really simple. Give bad Survivors 4 perks that allow them to nullify a mistake. If they make 20 mistakes, they'll only be able to nullify 20% of their mistake. Those perks won't really do a big difference for bad survivors.

Give good Survivors 4 perks that allow them to nullify a mistake. If they make only 4 mistakes because they're good, they'll be able to nullify all of those mistakes. Those perks will make a huge difference, allowing them to get away with no punishment at all.

Every good Dead By Daylight player will realize that at one point. It's the main reason why:

low skill Killers >> low skill Survivors

    but

high skill Survivors >> high skill Killers

...and it's the reason why low skill Survivors think that Killers are OP while high skill Survivors recognize that they're way stronger than they should be.

    See here's that hypocrisy again.

Survivors are expected to play perfectly, but as doon as a killer comes across a team of exceptionally skilled survivors they're just going to beg for more buffs to overcome them.

Its like with all these responces at no point does the skill of the killer come into play. It's either survivors suck and need to get good and when they do get good killers complain that the game is too hard.

Some people need to reflect on their own ability.

Why should they be able to hit great skillchecks?

Because there are other players that can do that and rank 1 is the HIGHEST rank, only the BEST players should be there.

I consider myself a mediocre survivor, but even I can power through ruin if I am in practice

We're talking ALL great skillchecks, not some. The idea of needing to hit 100% of them to be rank 1 is ridiculous, especially when skillchecks is such a small part of the equation. There is evasion skills, game knowledge etc

Why should the entity block off windows? Why bloodlust? Shouldnt killers be able to work around this? Why bbq shouldnt killers be able to locate survivors easily enough? Why Ruin shouldnt killers be able to pressure survivors enough?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/361169#Comment_361169

Last I heard, 90% of all skill checks are successfully hit. Do you think that's acceptable for something that's supposed to be a skill check?

It's to keep survivors focused and offers no progression.

Do you think all skillchecks should be DS sized?

  • If all survivors at red ranks suddenly "got gud" and managed to hit every single great skill check all the time you know damn well the killer mains would come here crying for skillchecks to be made harder.

  • @Master said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/361116#Comment_361116

And thats what he was talkign about. The vast majority at rank 1 cant power through ruin since they cant hit the skillchecks, but on rank 1 they SHOULD be able to.

totally legit point imo and if the ranking system would work properly, then it would filter out the potato survivors that cant power though ruin

They should be able to hit every single great skillcheck?

That's a very small percentage of players who hit every single one. I like how as survivor you're expected to be perfect but stuggle to pressure gens or catch survivors as killer and its not the player that sucks no its that killers need 1000 more buffs.

  • @PiiFree said:

It's very ironic that you talk about boosted Killer mains and at the same time complain about a Killer perk that only affects bad and unskilled Survivors.

Every Survivor that is affected by Ruin in Rank 1 is effectively, as a matter of fact, a boosted Survivor. You're playing in the highest rank possible but you lack the skill to handle even the most basic thing in this whole game: You're unable to hit great skill checks.

Hex: Ruin is a perk that punishes bad Survivors and no one else.

    We weren't talking about Ruin.

Bur FYI Ruin still slows the game down even if survivors hit every great skillcheck, even though the vast majority of players wont hit every single great skillcheck. If it wasn't effective itnwouldn't be taken.

  • Probably not. The ptb only went up last wednesday. A lot of people are guessing next Thursday.

I hope it comes soon as the DS changes are long overdue - I say this from the perspective of a killer who hates free escapes and a survivor who hates tunneling.

  • Ruin is a weird one bur I agree with @Ryuhi . Some killers do benefit from the set up time. It is possible to win without but often requires a much larger snowball.

I think Nurse and Billy on decent maps don't need it but many take it anyway. However play a slow killer or a killer with no map pressure on something like red forest or azarov's and it can be vital for buying you enough time to get momentum going. Call it crutch if you want but those maps are so damn large you can lose so much generator progress early on.

I don't think it's on par with NOED. Ruin comes into play when the killer is at their weakest - at the start of the game with 0 pressure while survivors are at their strongest - all 4 healthy, full map of pallets, killer not in sight. Noed kicks in when survviors are at their weakest - only 2 areas they could be which are the exit gates rather than spread over 7 gens, they might not have a full team left alive, and there probably isn't many pallets left on the map. The speed boost takes all skill out of the chase too.

Then maybe the coldwind offering needs to show up less?

    There's no maybe about it.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Killers can use Map Offerings. And why should only Killers be able to remove a Map? Why not Survivors also? I am pretty sure that most of Survivors would like to vote before the Match that "The Game" will not come up.

Survivors can too and there are 4 survivors per game. This leads to coldwind being burnt every few games. It's too much.

  • NOED is a ######### perk that boosts bad killers far beyond where they should be. It allows them to play with their crappy playstyles.

  • Yeah I've just had trolls all night. One who was farming and bodyblocking everyone, the killer left them alone too despite seeing them. Not sure id they were friends or not.

Then the next one someone did a last second change to flashlight/ds. I knew I should have quit out but played on instead. They ended up farming everyone and didnt touch any gens.

Games just wasted to troll survivors.

  • @LegitAdventurer said:

Tunneling and camping general leads to being genrushed. If you are solely focusing on one person, you aren't playing very optimally. A good game imo is when I've hooked one person and by the time they got the save I already have another chase initiated, with damage and/or anothet hook. I generally try and ping pong survivors so that 2 are being hooked at all times, which means someone else/multiple people are going for saves, thus nobody is doing gens.

At lot of killers dont understand this though. They're used to ranks 10-15 where tunneling actually works.

Once you get to red you don't have time to do that. So all the crappy killers rely on noed then come to cry about genrush.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/51204/why-do-you-get-punished-for-playing-well-as-a-survivor

See what you're suppose to do is NOT complain on the forums and find a new game.

Youve played the game long enough to know this, come on .

No it's the catch-22 of playing survivor.

Complain about something and you're told to "git gud".

So then you play good and killers still throw a strop about it.

Its the entitled killer mentality. "Just roll over and die so I can win thx".

  • Could be salt.

Could be because it's easier for them to just quit than to spend 5 minutes running around the map trying to chase the survivors out because they won't leave, then waste even more time when the tryhard DS user decides they want the hatch instead and expects the killer to wait another few minutes while they find it.

Some will d/c regardless. I think it would happen less though if a majority of survivors weren't toxic at the end.

  • Every 8th game? Consider yourself lucky.

  • @Master said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/51204/why-do-you-get-punished-for-playing-well-as-a-survivor

What do you want the killer to do?

HE lost too much time chasing you, so he will secure that kill at least =)

Hitting people on the hook doesn't make then die any faster ya know.

If he wanted to camp fine but the hitting repeatedly combined with the verbal abuse post-game, it just highlights the entitled boosted killer mentality.

God forbid a survivor has the nerve to try and live. Perhaps we should have a stopwatch and when 40 seconds have gone by we just stop moving and let the killer catch us?

  • @Marvett said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/50212/thanatophobia-ptb-changes

    Extremely strong on legion though.

    not that strong tho.

I mean I don't waste time healing me against a Legion anyway.

But that's the point. If all 4 survivors dont heal against Legion then they have a 24% penalty applied to generator speed.

  • @Hoodied said:

How bout make it to where it affects all hooks and increases the amount it works on basement hook

I see this suggestion a lot but it would basically make it a campers dream.

  • @FoxWolfFrostFire said:

Okay. So the wording confuses me, Does this mean at tier 3 you only need two survivors hurt to get the full effect?

    6% for 1 survivor injured/dying/hooked

    12% for 2

    18% for 3

    24% for 4

  • She's easily looped though without corrupt. You'll be eating through pallets for a while.

  • Claudettes in a nutshell. If the killer chases me I normally try to lead him to them. That way you can force them to do something. They give the killer the run-around while you do gens.

  • Because 2 killers in the game were too effective at slugging and it made for incredibly boring games. Rather than fix these two killers they decided to nerf slugging instead.

  • Its even better when they crawl to a hook because they want the game over. I'll give them the mercy kill then. Otherwise I'm not pickin them up and taking the risk of having them run to the hatch.

  • 3 second stun on head on? Ouch. I assume like DS it's actually more than 3 seconds when you count the whole animation. I never got stunn

I tried it out on the ptb. Head On is really powerful. If the killer is coming from afar then you easily have time to enter a locker. At this point there is nothing the killer can do, there is no counter play other than trying to bait the stun - but we will see how effective that is against experienced survivors. Mostly they have to either leave you alone or take the stun.

Here's the thing, it looks like this perk would buy you more distance from the killer than any other exhaustion perk. I'm not 100% sure though, we would need an actual comparison but I'm confident that sprint burst won't buy you that kind of distance.

It's easy to see why exhaustion applies to it now.

  • That last one looks great.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 said:

Who the ######### cares about a damn recoloured cosmetic? Wooow, it's gold. And? Imo only idiots pay 10+$ for that cosmetic, absolutly nothing special.

I'm always suprised how much money people are burning for digital cosmetics. Insanity.

I feel this way about legacy. I mean I get that people enjoy it for the bragging rights but it just looks like the characters have golden scabs all over their face. Reminds me of that simpsons episode where homer and bart fake leprosy.

  • I think the problem becomes, "do survivors need information on the killer they face". To which everyone is going to say no, and I see why because otherwise that would lead to more lobby dodging.

It's getting to the point though where the killers are becoming so different that a loadout that is good for one might be bad for another, or you're best off with a specific loadout for a killer.

Legion injures a lot. As someone who runs self-care and botany it's not too bad for me. However with the Plague those two perks are a waste. Likewise an exhaustion perk and DS might work against some killers, but you'd want stealth perks against a nurse etc

  • iron maiden? really? nobody but huntress takes that perk, and while a lot use BBQ she's far too slow to really get you with that.
