Lol. 9/10 times the doors spawn on the same wall or side of the map, the killer just needs 3-5 s to patrol both. 9.9/10 times you die to a cheesy fix for hatch standoffs requiring absolutely no skill whatsoever from the killer.
Once again the dev team implemented a super cheesy fix without giving it some thought in terms of balance. If the code to spawn the doors would at least have been modified to spawn doors as far apart as possible to give the last survivor at least a glimpse of a chance to get out that would have been an idea. Or massively reduce the door opening sequence if the hatch was closed by the killer. But in its current strate EGC is just another reason to DC since survivors dont get to have a chance anyway so what is the point of staying in the game ?
Idc don't believe me. It doesn't make any difference for me and definetly not dying. ;P

Like by comparison the Hag is balance around her ability to juke and loop. Not how fast she win games.
Hillbilly like Leatherface is balance around his ability to insta down survivors not how good they can loop and juke.

You're right in one aspect, but no killer is intended to counter a perk. Killer's abilities are to counter survivor playstyles as you said, add-ons and perks are used to counter other add-ons and perks.
However, again, how you can say that Hillbilly's power is to "balance Dead Hard at higher ranks" completely baffles me.
1) Dead Hard isn't this God tier, uncounterable perk every killer main makes it out to be, it can screw survivors over and can easily be baited out.
2) Hillbilly was in the game for about a year before Dead Hard was even a thing so your claim that Hillbilly's entire power is to "balance Dead Hard at higher ranks" is a complete falsity.
I'm not saying it is specifically There for this jeez don't make me say things I didn't mean.
What I mean rather is that it is balance and work this way to help deal with that kind of perk and playstyle.
Which imo isn't bad. Which is why Freddy denying BT isn't the end of days.
-
Higher ups killers are;
Leatherface, bc he can insta down denying MoM and DH.
Cannibal, same reason has Leatherface.
Huntress, usually running with iridiscent axe to counter jukes, loops and lithe.
Hag, same reason has the Huntress.
Spirit, can easily catch Up to running survivors and find them has easily with add-ons.
The Nurse, I don't meet enough to Say but apparently there's some around ?

Okay, I'll choose a better one. Hillbilly has an instadown, is his whole ability dedicated to countering Dead Hard? No, it's intended purpose is to apply map pressure and end chases out in the open quickly.
Nope it is intended to balance DH at higher ranks. That's why we only have 2-3 reliable killers higher ups(red ranks).
They are all killers that counter certain perks or actions the survivor do.
Hag, can break loop and jukes.
Myers, can bypass DH and MoM(although it's a bad example).
Doctor, completly destroy immersive perks like UE.

@TheUnendingNightmare I was doing that to I think a swf group. They figured out what I was doing and eventually I just teleported to one, and there they all were healing.
Lol that's hilarious! XD

And you just took literally the worst killer in the entire game has an example...so ? Yeah Pig is bad...look at the thousands of threads about it.

No? Do you see what you mean? I dont mean to sound rude but only one of the things you said is true and even then it's situational.
• Dead Hard can go through a chainsaw
• Nurse has nothing to do with people healing, her teachable perks do, and even then it in no way correlates to empathy
•Spirit can only counter Sprint Burst if the survivor using it keeps running. If you use Sprint Burst then you will leave the Spirit's Terror Radius very quickly, you will be told that she is phasing and therefore a smart player will stop running and walk instead.
If you can't see it, what can I say except you don't have the will required to understand it. No offense.
-
I think often the idea is to then be able to save you without risking an unnecessary hook if the killer goes for the injured survivor(I definetly would).
-
Not just the Spirit.
Hillbilly
Leatherface
Hag
Will all cause at least a few survivors per day to dc instantly. Especially around purple/red ranks.
-
I was playing Freedy.
I fake teleported to the generator second floor of a house on Myers map and the last survivor came running outside looking behind him straight into my loving arms.
I killed him.
-
Honestly I made it to red ranks with an immersed non meta build.
As long as you are repairing gens, unhooking teammates, healing them and evading/escaping the killer. You will rank up and have great games to show.
Seriously what a lot of ppl forget is that just bc a perk is good for you doesn't mean it is for everyone.
For example I was stuck in bronze rank bc has a sensory perk I used "Spine chill" and kept missing the random skillchecks it pop and then would be found (I'm not good at chases). As soon as I switched for "Premonition" (a perk most ppl will say is trash) I made it to purple and then red with the help of SB.
So I guess my point is "You Do you". :)
-
Also we all know camping just mean the Killer is losing the game and will get only 1 or MAYBE 2 kills.
-
@indieeden7 said:
I personally think that oblivious shouldn't counter BT, if a killer is camping and someone has BT then the killer shouldn't be able to just go after the unhooked person again.
I kinda agree but at the same time some killers are designed to counter some perks.
Leatherface counter DH.
The Nurse counter empathy and selfcare.
The Spirit counter SB.
Etc.
See what I mean ?

They did it OK on badham but they messed up here, some areas are too strong with bl, around Haddonfield strong.
Some areas are too weak like the top floor, this map looks great but it's wrong in terms of balance and not doing anything Is not a solution
I like the third floor. So easy to loose killers with urban evasion!

The only time aura reading perks do not work on Myers is if he's in Tier 1. Once he hits tier 2 they work.
I'm talking about sensory reading perks. Although, I often use "Dark sense" and I never ever saw it work on Myers unless he stopped stalking.
-
Most if not all Killers have larger terror radius than 28m so it should be more if you want it to be useful. I mean what's the point in hearing voices when I can already hear the killer music and heartbeat.

True as that may be, there are very few rooms with things that actually hide your character, your breathing may be hidden, but that doesn't mean you are.
There's literally 3 out of 4 rooms with LoS breaker on the third floor.
There's tons of vaults and metal railing on the second floor.
And the first floor is FILLED with pallets.
So UE users and immersed players should stick to the third floor and staircase.
Balance landing and lithe users second floor.
And DH users and jukers should stick to the first floor.
-
Oblivious is fine.
Ppl just need to wait at least a month before saying it is impossible to deal with.
-
It's your controller. Mine was doing the same thing, it stopped when I bought a new one.
From what I understand your joysticks are dying and basically sometimes stop working properly.
-
Honestly guys sorry to break it down to you...but this is an immersed map.
Very easy to mind ######### the killers with the staircase and the many noises hide breathing and injured sounds.

You need to read the perk descriptions. It is plenty clear how the interaction works. Proximity has nothing to do with how borrowed time works. Never has. It is based on whether the player with borrowed time is in or out of the killer's terror radius. Oblivious makes it so a player is always outside the terror radius until the effect ends. That means any sleeping survivor with borrowed time will not trigger the borrowed time effect. Pretty simple really.
I think he is talking before the rework.
Pre rework BT perk would work when within the killer terror radius.
Edit: Nvm I misunderstood you guys arguments.

Might be a bit unreliable (considering how hard it apparently is to determine whether a survivor is looking at Ghostface), but it could be a nice effect similar to the Doctor's illusions.
How often does this effect occur, though?
Also, I'm not too sure about auras of structures, that might look a bit weird. Maybe keep it to things that can already have an aura?
I would have it happen every 10s/20s or so and has for the structures yeah maybe you're right.
-
@Yung_Slug said:
The perk that causes exhaustion doesn't work when the generator is at 50% or more completion. The only real balance here is that it wouldn't work if you have Adrenaline and are on the last gen. I am a bit concerned that this encourages rushing gens and the devs seem to be trying to move away from that.
How could this help gen rushing ? It doesn't make you repair faster. It would mainly help when being chased and spotting an almost completed gen.

Myers does not remove all aura reading except for in Tier 1. Myers does not stay in Tier 1 for long unless it's Scratched Mirror. Dead Hard is not a band aid fix to toxic behavior on the killer's end, Borrowed Time is. Oh and Freddy is strong btw.
DS still works on him and I'm a sensory perk user. Unless Myers stop stalking wtv the tier your perks won't trigger.
-
Fearful: Everytime your obsession see another survivor they get scared and scream. If the survivor is within a 12m radius they all scream. This reveal their location to the killer for 3s/4s/5s.
-
@Mew said:
I like it, i just really dislike how Freddy just becomes immune to borrowed time from them.
But you're fine with Leatherface and Hillbilly denying DH ? Myers denying all sensory/aura reading perks ?
I think it's nice a killer can deal with a meta perk. Also if this is really a problem to you DS still work and OoO shows his aura at all time no matter the distance when asleep.
-
Patrolling is completly fine imo but face camping is bullshit has you can't do anything about it since the Killer can grab you instantly.
-
Idk what you mean dead perk ? It's part of my main Hag build (red rank)
Ain't nobody touching my totems pervs!

Perks are supposed to be a general think. I mean a perk can work whatever the killer is. It looks good on paper and I don't want to discourage you. Don't missunderstand me, I'ld like to see a rework of wake up though.
Haha I found a work around I think!

Like I said I changed it a lot. I could probably also change the wording like "reduce status effect received from killer by x,x,x"
-
A regular game is around 10-15 minutes so 60 is impossible even if the survivors are extremly good.
-
@8obot1c said:
this seems good, but its only against freddy. keep the exit gate thing and when the exit gates are powered you go out of dream world.
@OMagic_ManO said:
This is even more useless, it only applies to Freddy, how about when the Killer is the Trapper for example?
I also made the door opening so it works only when awake since 1 the perk is kinda all about that and 2 this would apply to all other killers.
-
The cleansing effect would've still work but I changed it a bit now.
-
@MegsAreEvil said:
Cause BT is used to counter cheap killer plays, which deny your whole gamefun.
Lbh I'm red ranks on both sides.
Which means I know all about the cheap survivors play too. DS still works if I'm not mistaken so if anything that could be used.
Also, since you can now use OoO to spot Freddy at all time seems like there's an easy counter here even if a campy Freddy would add insidious to their build. But his fun isn't to camp, it's to use fake pallets or blood pool, which mean chases are fun not camping.
-
Since ppl suffer from it every like 30s and when you succesfully hit them...yeah not really useful...hemorrhage could be rework to cause mangled status BUT that'd be much too OP imo. Or maybe a 5s/10s broken status.
-
Nah really the perk is fine. If one killer can counter BT by denying unsafe Rescue...just learn to saferescue...
Seriously Leatherface and Hillbilly both denies DH and Myers deny any sensory/aura reading perks. Similar to those this is a killer that will require to be dealt with differently than most default killers.
This isn't bad or OP just different and I think this is good. It adds flavor to the vanilla gameplay we have.
-
I initially switch to the Hag (not complaining I made it all the way Up) bc Freddy was seriously weak. Now that his powers and dream transition are much better it's gotten really fun to play him.
Also, adding oblivious when survivors are asleep was a very good move in my opinion.
It allows him to deal better against BT(we all remember the old Freddy struggle I assume)but at the same time it allows survivors to counter him with OoO. Not only dealing with the killer main flaw but also bringing back a perk from the grave!
Imo similar to "Calm spirit" for the Doc. "Objet of obsession" might become synonymus to "deal with Freddy".
-
Today threads are "too many!" Yesterday was "not enough!" so idk...

@TheUnendingNightmare I just bought Ghostface about an hour ago due to the sale. Not a fan of the character in general, because even though he isn't the Scream version, I never liked Scream to begin with.
But I like to keep my collection up to date. I don't watch Stranger Things, either, so haven't bought that one yet. I will probably around November, because I want to get other Perks unlocked before I worry about Demogorgon's.
And I haven't even touched Survivors yet. My highest is Claudette at Level 11.
I got pretty much every perks I want on my Hag and Meg but tbh none of the others have great perks unlocked as I just did them for certain teachable perks. :P
I only recently starting to use exhaustion perks. I had a complet stealth build before, which was GREAT not being discovered until end game but sadly the game rewards more BP juking than mind tricking the killer and doing gens.
-
My killer rule book (Hag main, red rank);
1- Do not camp BUT you are allowed to patrol the hook within a 36m radius.
2- Do not conciouscly go for the unhook or already injured survivor. Go for the first trap triggered or first scratch marks you find.
3- Insidious is allowed but must remain at least 26m away. This is mainly in hope the rescuer doesn't crouch thinking you're away and triggers a trap.
4- If all but one survivors have been killed within the first 5-7 mins farm with the last one and let them escape if they complied.
5- You are allowed any trap placement even during chases but do not trap the hatcht.
6- If you receive hate mail after a succesful trial, you are allowed to tell them to "crouch u noob" or "GG easy" but do not send death threats or any wishes of mortal diseases.

@Kilmeran said:
@TheUnendingNightmare I need to play Freddy more. Haven't messed around with him yet since the rework, and didn't play him much before then so he's only level 17.
I've just been working on getting all Pig's teachables unlocked, along with Discordance on Legion and Thrilling Tremors on Ghostface (since I finally bought him). I'm just going to wait for the shrine for PGTW, because I am not pumping all that BP into Clown to get him to Level 40.
I've been playing the guys I have BBQ tier 3 on, and Freddy doesn't have it at all, yet.
Yeah my main is Hag but second main was Freddy even pre rework and although tbh before oblivious he wasn't much stronger his gameplay has gotten better and much more rewarding!
That's cool! I also just unlocked Ghostface but I haven't played with him a lot yet, been working on the Plague since I'm behind dlc wise. XD
-
Depends for example if they drop the pallet has you are picking up a survivor same thing happen. Maybe something similar occured here.
-
@Kilmeran said:
@TheUnendingNightmare Exactly. And you can tell when they're new because the tells are obvious.
But, oh my god, I wish I could have seen that match. I'm actually laughing just thinking about those Vets trying to bully you, and then wasting all the pallets and not realizing that they were doubly screwed due to no pallets plus your fake pallets.
Absolutely priceless!
Ty ty it was hilarious! Every pallet I was like *Nicky Minaj voice*: Einnnn! Nope try again.
I also love fake teleportation, I just love seing ppl run away from the gen right into Freddy's loving embrace. XD

@Kilmeran said:
@TheUnendingNightmare I've hovered around Rank 12 or so before. I don't play much due to very limited gaming time, and will be away for months on top of that, so you can imagine how often I am reset back to gray ranks.
Anyway, I'm rank 19 right now due to that (just came back right before the reset). The other night, I was running a killer I don't usually play and only slotted the one Perk on him because I only had one slot open. He was level 1.
I had a Rank 10 and the other three were all Rank 18-20. The rank 10 was really annoying with t-bagging and his flashlight on every loop. I finally caught him for a hook. On the second down, I slugged him and made sure to keep the other three busy so they could not revive him. I made him bleed out. I focused on him because I could tell he knew what he was doing, and the other three weren't hitting skill checks on gens to save their lives.
The other three, I quickly realized, were brand new based on how they played, so I finally got them to understand and we farmed around a little bit. Then I let them complete gens and escape. They all ended up with 25k+ BP.
Anyway, can you image that Rank 10's reaction on the after-match board when he saw me as Rank 19 with 1-Perk and no add-ons. I wonder if he thought he just got schooled by a newbie? 😂
I feel you.
I was playing Freddy (rank 5-6) and was queued with all red ranks except one rank 17.
They immediatly started using their flashlight and pallet me everytime they could...and butt dancing.
Little did they know I was only letting them pallet me so I could fill the area (Myers map) with fake pallets. I then destroyed them bc it took them forever to realize every pallet in the zone was fake.
There was only me and the newbie now. He literally came to me nooding yes in front of a hook.
We eventually came into an understanding and we farmed till we were both maxed out and I opened the exit gate for him.
Like I'm not going to be mean to the only player who wasn't trying to piss me off and was actually pretty stealthy has I never actually saw him until the end of the game.
-
Look survivors are #########...that's why we kill them! XD
-
Actually maybe not increasing time but if the killer could prevent acces or certain paths to the gens it would be a bit more fun.
Killers could have the ability to lock down certain areas in which gens are located allowing acces only to the killer. Survivors would need to activate a breaker or something and could even become trap until someone lift the lockdown or repair the gen inside.
-
You don't get it;
Killer rules first chapter:
1- Do not camp
2-Do not tunnel
3- Do not punish bad vaults or loops
4- NEVER EVER RUN INSIDIOUS
5- You can't win
6- In the case you do win, you must admit which rules you broke
