So OBIOUSLY I love Legion--psyched for their update, yay--but I gotta say their skins are kind of a big fat BUMMER because really Legion is 4 characters in ONE, and it makes the odds of getting a cool skin even less for the one you like to play as. I love playing as Julie. I honestly can't stand the whole "uwu i didnt WEALLY wanna stab him..." Suzie story, and she gets ALL the cool skins and has way more stans than i can understand or tolerate. She gets the new year skin, the cyper punk skin, the killer kitty skin... and even Joey gets really cool skins with his hi-vis and mecha mask skin. JOEY AND SUZIE EVEN GET THE HOLIDAY SKINS!??! Frank gets THE ultimate blight skin and Julie gets.... nothing. Literally bottom of the barrel crap.
All the other characters have bunny suits, so that doesnt really count because one--its a gag bunny suit that they all get and the only differs in color and how the model stands--and the ONLY other skin she "only"(because frank also has it) gets is the party crasher skeleton skin--and honestly that one sucks for her, at least on Frank his whole body is painted(because no tetas).
It just sucks. Legion already is a pretty under-skinned killer, for being out so long, and getting a DECENT skin for the one member of Legion you play is even harder. Dead by daylight devs seem to favor sad little girls--I took a look at their killer roster and pretty much EVERY female killer is a tragic one(imo) save for like 2(Julie and Pig).
Apparently a female killer who LIKES to do it, just aint worth their time.
I know this comes off as super whiney--but this kinda is a sore topic for me because all my mains are just WILDLY under-skinned. I play Jeff and Bill as my survivors. Bill has ONE skin(unless you manage to unlock his secret one in the rift) and Jeff is arguably one of the least played survivors in game. (oH jUsT pLaY a NeW mAiN--Not all of us wanna be bunny-ear Feng Mins, ok.)
Anyone else feel like this? Damn, Twins got it bad too but at least they share all their skins....
Technically Frank's Blight skin is a Suzie skin as well...

Self-Care is used more than CoH, btw. So you are wrong.
I don't see that at all. I see self caring Claudettes who probably don't have access to CoH but in both my killer and survivor games I see CoH a lot more.

I call bs on the healer perks being underpowered compared to it, I only really ever used COH on a boon build other than that I used Inner healing or just a medkit works fine. I would rather be the medic that helps the team and make sure they get saved and healed than just let them waste more time by healing themselves at a totem
If you think that the other healing perks weren't underpowered in comparison to CoH you're not being objective. The fact that CoH was seen more frequently than all of the other healing perks combined show that.
-
It brings the equivalent of one perk to the entire survivor team and reduces altruistic healing time for some set-up cost. That's still pretty strong.
More importantly in my opinion, after the nerf it won't instantly invalidate every other perk in the same category (healing) by simply existing. The only practical reason to not bring CoH before over every other healing perk is if you didn't have it. That alone shows how overpowered it was.
-
Pineapple on pizza is really, really tasty.
-
If you did the gens and left through the exit gates you would get the 'Left For Dead' achievement which is arguably the hardest achievement to get.
No offense but I wish I ran into that killer.

Yes, thats why you will have iridescent 1 players in your match who are absolute potatoes.
That's a bit of an exaggeration. Given the requirements to pip up at Iri grades it's impossible to not contribute and still get there (generally, a pip requires 3 gens done, 2 safe unhooks, 2 health states healed 45 seconds of being chased and surviving 9 minutes). I agree completely there's a wide variation between skill but you can't just log in and pip up.

I stopped being nice after I got the same reactions from people even when I wasn't playing nice.
I understand, I still get BMed playing nice. I get BMed every couple of days though instead of BMed multiple times per day.
BHVR doesn't discourage toxicity, though, and sometimes seems to encourage forms such as tbagging, etc. Players react to encouragement which is part of the reason why I think DbD has so many toxic players.
-
When I get hit with Victor when I'm healthy I just run around around the outskirts of the map in circles for the funs. Charlotte just chases me in circles while my teammates do gens.
I expect a facecamp after, and kudos to those who are level headed enough not to, for being so bloody annoying but I find it funny to run around being chased by Charlotte with a shrieking Victor on my back.
I also sometimes run Starstruck, Agitation, Iron Grasp, and Mad Grit and play games where I meme around just trying to drop survivors while I'm carrying a struggling survivor on my back for laughs.
I think I have a demented sense of humour now to think of it...
-
I agree, playing for hooks gives a more enjoyable game experience than playing for kills.
Personally, I think one of the reasons MMR system downgraded the game experience is because, to get red ranks before, you had to pip up using the Emblem system which rewards more hooks.
Now, since kills equals skill, according to the MMR system players emphasize playing unfriendly to maximize kills since that's 'high MMR' (which nobody knows what they're at anyway unless they're BHVR staff with access to the data). However, only a few hooks would mean you depipped under the Emblem system.
Personally, unless I'm BM'ed, I don't kill anyone before the 5th hook, usually the 6th or 7th, I alternate hooks until I'm down to two survivors, I have more enjoyable games, get more BP, and see less toxicity. I also hit Iri 1 within the first week (the first couple days if it's a weekend and I'm not busy that weekend).
Players react to game mechanics, incentives and encouragement. Right now, this favours camping and tunneling. It's a design flaw with MMR that the devs, in my opinion, should correct with rebalancing the game. Either that, or change the MMR system.

@BadZilla said:
The pip emblems system is weird I had a lot of good games with a 4k or 3k I did chase and kick a lot of gens and played correctly but I end up getting 0 pip which doesn't make any sense ..
If you're camping you'll lose emblems after staying close to a hook. Also, hooks matter for emblem points. If you have 8 hooks but 0K you can make it to gold grade without ever having killed a survivor.
-
If a Killer is spending 3 minutes chasing a single survivor they're throwing the match to try to kill one survivor. It's a tactical mistake on their part but, if it happens to you, just wait on hook for a save or take one for the team and just buy time for the other survivors to get out.
-
I have an ex- that I could probably convince to go see Kpop if I can transfer the ticket.
-
There are only a small amount of killers that can compete against survivors without hitting a game mechanics ceiling. Doctor, unfortunately, is not one of them.
-
When I have one survivor left with only one or two gens left I let them do the achievement instead of doing hatch if they want to.
Other than that, no idea. In one game (but only one game) I almost got it. The last gen was at 95% when the second last survivor to die got sacrificed. I was literally about two seconds away from opening the exit gate when the killer found me. C'est la vie.
-
She's definitely good; she's the only one who can put pressure on a second survivor on gens while chasing another
-
The best way to motivate a Mikaela to find a boon totem early is to tell them in pre-game chat you have Small Game, Counterforce and Detective's Hunch equipped and are doing a totem cleansing challenge regardless of the actual truth. Then hope you don't need Mikaela to unhook you at any point in the match.
-
Have basekit BT include no collision detection for the base kit version while BT is active.
Make the 200% gen regression on kicking base kit for killers.
Keep the good skill check notifications for Call of Brine but change the colour to white and have Surveillance colour coding take priority.
-
Slugging is amazing for creating pressure and wasting survivor time.
-
I always try to pick up the slugged survivors as survivor. Worst case scenario, we all bleed out. Best case scenario, I succeed or the killer 'doesn't see me'. Most likely, the killer hooks everyone and the game ends faster.
Unless the entire team has been toxic, as killer I either hook as many as I can if I have a 3 person slug and let them be rescued or 'don't see' someone going for a save. My MMR would just go up even more than a regular win, which I view as a punishment, I would get crap BP (another punishment) and I would either not pip or possibly depip unless I'm already at Iri 1 (another punishment).
If someone hides and waits for their team to bleed out when I'm playing killer I'll usually pick up and drop the slug(s) right before they're about to die, kill the person who was hiding, and let the rest of the survivors go. The hiding survivor can be my proxy vengeance on the survivors who left me to bleed out when I've played solo queue.
-
Pressure and ability to hook. If I down someone and somebody is going for a save, then I know two survivors at least are not on gens. After I down the second (or third) nobody is on gens unless they're giving me a chance for a four person slug
Also, if someone has Breakout or a flashlight in the area they might deny me a hook if I hook immediately. If they bodyblock and I think my hook might be in jeopardy I'm perfectly fine with leaving a slug and hooking the would be body blocker. I've had games where, for each hook, I had to first down two or three survivors since if I pick then up the SWF will coordinate their flashlight angles so I can't avoid the flashlight.
-
Touch screen controls for killers vs keyboard and mouse. If it weren't for that, I would agree.

does this not suffice?
That's macro from all players. I'm interested in my individual kill rates. (eg. If one player 4Ks every match and another 0Ks every match, that's still 2K on the average)
-
If you already have Pop, I think both DMS and Retribution is better than Bamboozle by itself unless you mainly play M1 killers. In that case, it's a toss up in my opinion.
For gameplay, I think Clown is more fun but that's individual preference. Both killers are weak right now.
-
The hockey analogy is a terrible analogy for three reasons:
(1) It muddied the waters and confused a lot of what Patrick was trying to say.
(2) It's an entirely different industry with different needs and outcomes. It doesn’t matter if the hockey players enjoy the game in hockey; what matters in Dbd is if the people playing the video game enjoy the game (the hockey players are paid to play and we pay to play). Also, the fact hockey isn't asymmetric means it's a bad comparison on many points
(3) Matchmaking is supposed to make the game more fun for as many people as possible. If this is not acheived, it does not matter how it is balanced since the game will bleed players and eventually die.

This is something that I often wonder.
When I play killer, unless the enemy team is really cocky and BM, I generally feel bad 4king - especially if it's been a good game and they just got unlucky with a potato, a DCer or a single misplay that turns into 3 downs (seriously people, stop trying to sabo so much! It tends to lose you the game).
I'll often let the last survivor go, or sometimes even a duo. This has become even more common since I've started playing survivor more regularly.
Anyone else think like this?
My general rule is I give the last either exit gate or hatch. If someone asks for mercy, I let them go and generally stop killing the survivors at that point. Solo queue can be quite tiresome at times and I have no interest in pvping with someone who doesn't want to pvp anymore back. Also, if bps or anniversary cake is in play, I'll maximum two hook.
However, if someone is toxic I'll either one hook or slug camp the survivor. Then I'll let any remaining non toxic survivors farm points off of me. I prefer slug camping for survivors who tbag me at pallets because I totally avoid BT, DS, Power Struggle and any perks like that if I just let them bleed out on the ground.

His bottles should only give survivors a speed boost
To properly balance the OP monster that is Clown, they need to exchange his knife for a more lore appropriate foam hammer that needs about 5 strikes for a single health state. Full speed boost to the survivor for each hit of course.
-

People say this guy is weak but he’s just way to overpowered. He exposes the survivors so fast and can down them with ease. His movement speed too. there is also no counter play when he 99s his tier 3 and uses it on you. And let’s not forget his two busted addons. He needs a heavy nerf or reinstate haddonfield
Preach on. Myer's kill rate is over 50% and Nurse is below 50%. I demand a heavy nerf to Myers and a strong buff to Nurse to bring them back into line next patch.
-
A large issue I see is that, many times, a match can be decided at the killer selection screen. Most killers just can't compete against very skilled survivors. Then, once you lose, there is a fairly significant chance the survivors will rub your nose in it.
Once that happens, your only real choices are just blow it off (much easier said than done), switch to a more meta killer, or camp/tunnel until your MMR hits a point that's no longer effective and you're back to being BM'ed at the exit gate.
If weaker killers were buffed more then there would be greater killer variety. Unfortunately, balancing doesn't seem to take into account things like certain killers are newbie stompers but fall apart after or how killers like the Twins only have a decent kill rate at high MMR because their players are really dedicated to them.
-
If the person being tunneled is better at the chasing game than the killer and/or other survivors will take protection hits or hook trade it's very effective. If a potato has it, the killer is godly in chase or the team works as a 1v1 four times instead of as a 4 v1 it only delays the end outcome by 15 to 20 seconds.

Ditto.
I've tried to get quite a few people into this game, but when they start asking me about it, two things tend to be deal-breakers.
- The monstrous initial grind.
- Just how utterly nasty this community can be.
I remember watching Otz teach a new player how to survivor (a really endearing, wholesome series actually) and her running into an utterly foul person, which really shook her up.
You shouldn't need an elephant hide to enjoy a videogame in 2022.
100% true. Other games where the developers discourage smack talk have a much better new player experience for that very reason. I've read more negative comments about farming from a developer of Dbd than people trying to make the gaming experience miserable for other players.

From what I can tell it's one of the leading issues that is making it so hard to retain players.
It's directly the reason I can't get any of my friends to stick with DbD. They can handle the getting stomped while they learn the game; it's the people trying to make them miserable for being new they can't stand.

Ok so when I leave the hook and hook two other people (They were quick downs, no idea what they were doing) and the original person got off after one hook goes and clicks their flashlight at me and jumps in a locker when I chase them I was tunneling?
Leave them in the locker and hook the other two. They can't unhook, heal, or do gens without losing DS. If you're Trapper trap the front of the locker and walk away.

1.) Because you are sandbagging your teammate.
2.) Because you are quitting.
3.) Because you are screwing yourself out of bloodpoints.
It is so weird to me that if a Killer does ANYTHING but play the game by the Rulebook, they are screamed at to "just play normally!" but Survivors think that playing normally for themselves literally includes suicide on hook.
I'm unsure if you actually read my entire post. The killer isn't camping and, during the entire first hook stage, isn't at the hook yet nobody can come for a guaranteed safe unhook. In fact, I even stated that if I'm being camped I'll stick around as long as possible but I'm not going to stick around for wiggle checks anymore so I can most likely one hook. How is that sand bagging?

So i dont blame people and it honestly doesnt bother me as I understand its annoying but...
If I'm accidentally placed in your lobby as a survivor and you arent my skill and I loop you for ages dont take it personally?
I dont do any actions to BM, I just play to the best of my ability and I'm not being toxic because I know how to loop I'm just not gonna give free hooks till the end.
I dont know if others get this but if you're ever miss placed and you loop a killer too long you become their whole obsession. They will camp, tunnel and BM you as if you did something wrong lol
This is so true. Unfortunately, the killer is so focused on the chase (and possibly trying to camp you) their best option is to leave chase and find someone else. It's easier to commit time to the chase when everyone else is dead, slugged or on hook.
For the second point, unfortunately as well, the killer doesn't know if you're in agreement with the BMing survivor or not about BMing. There is literally no way to communicate that. Unless the player is really even headed they will, with reason, assume the survivors are fine with the BMing. Personally, if I see a killer slug camping a survivor I assume the survivor was particularly obnoxious, do my gens, and get out. If the team is really obnoxious I'll give the killer a hook or kill but there's nothing else that can really be done.

If you're creating dead zones it can be useful paired with the Nemesis perk ( get pallet stunned, break pallet, return to gen) but that's more of a fun combo than a very effective combo in my opinion. PWYF, Nemesis and Rancor can be entertaining for the early to mid game speed boost and the end game 'I just stunned the killer who has Rancor and now I'm the Obsession moments...'.
-
It depends. For Killer, I make builds centered around the character and the base perks so for some characters their perks are meta and others have terrible perks. I always run BBQ and Chili though to reduce the grind even if the info provided is of little to no use (eg territorial, low mobility like Trapper).
Solo survivor is a lot harder to pip up for me at Iri ranks so as soon as I hit Iri I start equipping DS at the very least. It's very frustrating to be one pip away from the next level in Iri and then run into four games where I'm either tunneled, the killer goes AFK or I'm chased for most of the game and not able to do gens and no unhooks (since the killer is focused entirely on me). I'm most likely depipping and end back at zero. The most common scenario of those three is tunneling so all the meta perks keep me around longer and I pip up. After I get Iri One and my sweet BP, I take a string of losses after I lose my meta perks. The problem, though, is that's it's really frustrating to pip up at higher grades without meta perks.
Meta perks are like drugs now though with MMR. They feel good in the moment but use them too long and you become dependent. Then, since they helped you get to a higher MMR, you're now stuck with sweatier games and you're looking at a painful string of losses if you change them out for non meta perks. It's one of the balancing issues that MMR helped illuminate; the gap between the meta and non meta perks is really wide.
-
No, I want my BP
-
I play both sides. DH is overpowered. The reason why I say that is because perks like Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, etc will save me once every two or three games (unless the killer still tries to camp and tunnel after finding out those are in play in which case that's the killer's fault for not adapting) but Dead Hard can save me multiple times per match. Dead Hard is also more useful than any other exhaustion perk.
DH is sometimes counterable, it does require some skill to use, but it's far more useful than any other survivor perk and, in my opinion, is as useful as a good killer perk. Survivor perks shouldn't have the same utility as a killer perk since this is an asymmetric game.
It either needs a nerf or the killer's ability to chase needs a buff.
-
It's an amazing intro. It's based off of the movie and is an Easter egg for the chapter.

What else does she need?
I agree with the Ring Drawing. I also think there should be a base kit passive increase to Condemnation if the survivors spend x seconds (20? 30? 40?) within so many meters of a powered TV. It's lore appropriate and would make survivors interact with TVs. Sit on a gen by a powered TV? Get two Condemn stacks and now it's a decision to make.
Right now, the best thing to do against her Condemned just seems to be ignore TVs unless you actually get forced to interact with one. Then just keep an eye on the TV. As soon as you see her emerge run like hell and just go back to the gen once she's out looped.
