So I just recently posted a thread about how many people think tunnelling is necessary in public matches. Posting a thread, of course, isn't scientific or anything like that but the majority of people (and by a significant margin) who responded said tunnelling was unnecessary overall. I disagree with the position that tunnelling is necessary due to my personal experience but I at least understan90 comments 1,813 views last activity

If so, what do you consider a satisfactory win rate? If you feel certain Killers need to but others don't at what tier do you think it's required or which Killers do you think need to and which don't? I've seen answers all over the place for this so I'm just asking who thinks it's necessary. Edit: Do you feel it's not necessary at certain MMRs and it is at certain levels?22 comments 402 views last activity

There are two aspects to the catch up mechanic as noted and both feel off. As it currently stands, A: Gen repair gets slower as each gen is completed B: Gen repair gets faster as each Survivor is hooked It's B that has the largest issues as this punishes Killers that spread hooks and rewards tunnelling. If, hypothetically, the Killers get in 16 hooks with double hooking all survivors then the0 comments 31 views last activity

I've found that the volume of survivor footsteps is so low now that it's extremely difficult now to track where they are when they're behind walls and I have to get much closer to generators to hear if they're being worked on. I first thought it was just my headphones, which badly need to be replaced, were broken but Scott Jund just released a video saying the same thing. Is this common? As background I recently did a comparative group of sessions on solo queue play between sessions that were close to two years apart. I summarized and showed all of the data on the two sessions and provided links to the videos of the games here. https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/425642/the-decline-of-survivor-game-quality-over-years There are a total of57 comments 941 views last activity

Here are the links to the data for those that just want to see the data and watch some mediocre Survivor play over the last couple years. DbD Survivor Game Data is from the current games. DbD Stats is from games that were about two years ago I think. The descriptions of all games show which video to look at if you want to see the video. Okay, the perk is garbage. We all know that. How about if it started with a repair speed penalty (not an oppressive penalty but moderate) until a survivor was killed and then the penalty disappeared? In my opinion it would be a healthier slowdown as, once a survivor is killed, the penalty disappears so that would discourage tunneling and would place it with Ruin for healthier slowdown options.1 comments 31 views last activity

Someone on the subreddit for DbD asked ChatGPT to roast us and this was the result I think that's one of the funniest posts I've ever read especially since an AI came up with it. If you want to find the OP it's on Reddit in the DbD subreddit8 comments 191 views last activity

What do you think it is when it's defined as 3E or 4E Survivor win, 2E draw, 0 to 1E Killer win? Do you think the win rate is equal to escape rate? Higher? Lower? 50% or more? 30% or less?26 comments 863 views last activity

Out of curiosity what percentage of games do you think tunneling occurs(defined as attempting to remove one survivor at the earliest opportunity) ?44 comments 692 views last activity

After I 2 hook everyone I let a survivor smack me with a pallet and then use Mage Hand to lift the pallet so they can smack me again. 10/10. Would recommend.2 comments 81 views last activity

I'm referring to the voice line where the character says 'We have a better chance of escaping if we all work together!' Ah Nic, give yourself a few rounds of solo queue and you'll see how that breath is better saved for running.0 comments 31 views last activity

I'll preface by saying I don't have an issue with NOED, I don't think NOED is overpowered and I think there are far more important balancing issues in the game than NOED. For the fun factor though I was thinking what would happen if survivors knew the Killer had NOED at the beginning of the game (eg first time a survivor lost a health state)? NOED was very frustrating for survivors because it f21 comments 341 views last activity

I'm referring to the new chapter of course. The design and artwork is top notch but the Unlnown and survivor perks aren't anything to rave about on first impressions. The Unknown's projectiles are pretty slow so I don't see getting that many health state hits unless the survivor just runs in a straight line. The teleport ability is cool but it's less effective than Dredge's as I can't hear thing1 comments 61 views last activity

Why do they happen? It's the MMR system combined with matchmaking. As an example, a 2300 MMR player in chess will statistically beat 99.6% of players if I remember correctly. A 2800 MMR player will statistically beat 99.8% of players but will also beat the 2300 MMR player over 99% of the time. For there to be a significant chance for the 2800 MMR player to lose they have to be matched with anot4 comments 131 views last activity

I just came back to survivor after a few months break and it seems pretty gruesome. I'm not talking about the escape rate; that's super low for me (5% so far) but I expected that after a lengthy break but rather the tactics. In 20 games, there were 12 Killers tunneling and 3 going for a 4 person slug. Prior to my break it was roughly 30 to 40% tunneling and I saw a 4 person slug attempt about o53 comments 1,404 views last activity

I'm happy DbD does not have in-game voice chat and don't ever want to see it added. I also play the other assym out right now and it's not good to have in-game voice chat. It's used more for racial slurs, swearing at and raging at other players than it is for in-game communication. There's even currently a thread on Reddit where somebody said that players shouldn't be subjected to racial slurs an79 comments 2,755 views last activity

Disclaimer: I'm discussing my own personal experience and how it affects my personal playstyles so it may or may not be relevant to anyone else. I would summarize myself as having two playstyles, Killers I Kill with and Killers I Meme with. I separated the two groups and only killed with certain Killers and only memed with others so that my MMR didn't go crazy. For the Killers I Kill with I wou9 comments 452 views last activity

A totally unexpected meme game happened yesterday. I was playing Demogorgon and on Hawkins and a Jonathan Byers was there. I downed a non-ST survivor and the Jonathan indicated he wanted to try a flashlight save. So, in honor of ST day, I just let get the save. The survivor ran off so I just caught another survivor and brought them back. Jonathan pointed at them so I ran off and caught the surviv1 comments 41 views last activity

It seems like it's going onto the scrap heap along with perks like Ruin (almost never seen either as it being a hex with only 100% regression and deactivation as well), CoB, etc I much prefer it when I have a buffet of good options to pick from and now it's really back to SB, Lithe or BL for exhaustion options. I know this sounds strange up front but I'm bored right now so here's my line of logic about this. The primary causes of toxicity in the DbD community (well, PvP gaming communities in general) comes down to not respecting your opponents and not accepting that your gameplay helped contribute to a loss (or, alternately, your opponent was just that much better). I got a few matches in playing against Singularity and I think EMPs are too plentiful. Since I now understand the Killer from playing a few matches playing the Killer, I found it too easy to disable the Killer's power as a Survivor. The power also synergizes well with Scavenger as I could use the 30 seconds to just grab an EMP, disable a pod by a gen, and restart with my new toolbox. That's not0 comments 11 views last activity

So, I tried put Singularity today and first impressions are positive. This is not an easy Killer to grasp at first but a lot of fun when you figure out its power. You do put biopods by gens to force survivors to waste time on EMPs so you don't Slipstream them and get great info but this isn't really good for three genning. An EMP disrupts the pod long enough you'll lose the gen if you wait; thi2 comments 151 views last activity

I think about 90% or more of slugging solely to bleed out survivors and not for tactical reasons would end if survivors stopped teabagging the Killer. What I find so odd about these complaints about incessant slugging is that I don't see it. I do get slugged but it's for tactical reasons such as another survivor is nearby, there's no hook around, I deliberately went to an area where there's no h31 comments 526 views last activity

Game Afoot, Nemesis, PWYF, Rancor. The add-ons are aura reading for survivors within an active zone, and either Haste for SM in an active zone or the Hinder Survivors in an active zone. Drop drones as soon as you hit a loop and at any large loops (eg Dead Dawg Saloon) and recall/reuse as needed. You're not going to be winning any competitions with it but you nearly always have Haste up and that3 comments 131 views last activity

BHVR, I need to discuss what happened. I was playing a match and I lost. This is completely unacceptable. This is why your game is dying and has been on the verge of death every day since June 14, 2016! It's obvious from my loss that (insert Killer/Survivor/Perk/Add-on) is completely OP and there are no counter strategies. The only reason why people say there are counter-strategies is because th19 comments 561 views last activity

Just curious what the logic is about this. If a Killer has a super low pick rate like Billy and the Twins why not spend the effort making them more fun? Doesn't that make more sense from both a gameplay and business perspective?5 comments 141 views last activity

Basically the question; how do you make playstyles other than 3 genning viable on Skull Merchant without forfeiting the game? I'm usually decent at figuring this out; as an example my Knight games have always been based off of map pressure, multiple uses for my guards, involve a lot of mobility and using my power a lot more than just plop at loop. It's fun and doesn't require 3 genning, camping o1 comments 51 views last activity

I thought a suggestion I read from @Forza was great. If Eruption is going to be removed from the gen regression category (which, realistically, at 6% of current progress that's too low to even make a difference) then have Eruption blind and/or stun survivors within a 5 or 10 metre radius from the gen and apply Blindness for thirty to sixty seconds sort of like a reverse Blast Mine and Residual7 comments 51 views last activity

For full disclosure I think Eruption has been over-nerfed if the changes listed in the patch notes go live. It'll change it from a mainly gen slowdown perk to a mainly information perk which is an interesting choice but that also further restricts Killers' perk choices. To illustrate the it was over nerfed point, there are very few Killers that could actually make use of that information. The o30 comments 571 views last activity

From playing solo queue I just realized the depressingly low amount of time many survivors do something productive. The SWFs I ended up with today were great loopers quite understandably since they spent most of the time messing with the Killer while I did the gens. I appreciated keeping the Killer distracted but I'm not sure three survivors were required to be in chase most of the match. The so3 comments 121 views last activity

I'm covering two topics here: (a) Getting feedback on my gameplay as Artist; and secondarily (b) Discussing and showing the delta between a strong and weak similar playstyle Killer (Artist and Knight) and discussing how it promotes tunneling and camping if anyone is interested (I don't camp or tunnel myself as I think it's overkill but can see how it can come out of frustration) The match res6 comments 121 views last activity

I'm just getting people's opinions here. My definitions here are: Pre 6.1 DH: An unbalanced perk that was used more at high MMRs as it was too powerful at all levels. Pre 6.1 NOED: A perk that was incredibly powerful at low levels but had usage and its power level drop off as MMR rose as it was much easier to combat with experience and, most importantly, coordination. Otz just recently did a video on a camping Knight build and, in my opinion, it helps illustrate my position that Reassurance needs a buff and survivors overall need more anti-camping tools. https://youtu.be/0ZGzF0jBh-0 The issue I've always had with camping is based on three factors: (a) The skill floor for camping is low (b) The skill floor to combat camping is high.1 comments 61 views last activity

https://youtu.be/T63nox7SQhc I agree with his take on the Knight overall. While the Knight is not going to be one of the strongest Killers he's not the weakest either. There is potential there with using the Guards to multi task as well as using then to chase and he's fun to play. If you're interested in looking at Knight gameplay I'd recommend taking a look .22 comments 1,581 views last activity
