  • He’s definitely far from OP. The only thing he can really ‘abuse’ is being able to camp and render BT useless. But if you’re a decent enough player, you’ll just rush the gens if a killer is playing that way. As other people have mentioned above me, he’s very add-on dependent. I do love going against good Wraith players as they do a lot of sneaky stuff, like running ahead of you to block a pallet etc, but unless you’re really good as him, he gets abused a lot.

Hag has a build that allows teleporting from all across the map without the traps triggering visually iirc... (i think such builds exist for all teleport killers) how is Deathslinger more camping than 'the whole map's my campground'?

In no way is Deathslinger used to camp more than Hag. The biggest campers in the game are Hag, Leatherface and Wraith. Especially on console in red ranks. I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen a Gunslinger camp but I rarely see him unless I’m the one playing as him. The example in the OP is not a good example. As he has two people hooked next to each other and an advantage point to find out where the last person is. I don’t think what he’s doing is camping. He’s actually being strategic.

  • I don’t have big issues with his current state as for me he’s one of the best killers to play as and against. One thing I have thought about for awhile would be him doing actions faster whilst in Tier 3. So an increase to vault speed, destroying pallets and kicking gens. It would definitely make him more intimidating to face. Especially because a lot of people will just waste pallets when you have Tier 3. I also agree with what you said about his stalking ability. I don’t get why Ghostface can expose as many people as he wants but Miguel gets a limit. It can be extremely annoying when the people you are required to stalk are playing in an immersive way as you become forced to down people with basic M1 attacks.

  • @Gylfie said:

I don't see the problem in this picture to be honest. Why should he leave the area of interest, where you are most likely going to be, to go on a wild goose chase in the middle of nowhere?

On a related note, as a Deathslinger main, I can tell you that often times I don't even get enough time to leave the area. I always turn around once or twice while leaving the hook area just in case I might catch someone going for the save. If you can't wait for me to be fully out of sight, you deserve to get harpooned.

I had also never heard the term 'proxy camping' until I got called a proxy camper in one of my games. Because it's totally my fault that there are gens being worked on in the near vicinity of the hook. Guess I should have disappeared to some far out corner of the map where exactly nothing is happening.

Did you not know? After you hook a survivor you’re supposed to go straight to the opposite side of the map. Face the corner and wait for somebody to get the save. Then and ONLY then are you allowed to resume normal gameplay.

  • That’s like me asking why would a survivor burn a map offering instead of a cake? Stop making these petty arguments one sided as they always work both ways. People are free to play how they choose. Nobody is obliged to burn a BP offering. I think a lot of people need to realise that you’re playing a game with real people and unfortunately not everybody thinks the way you do. Stop making up faux-rules and trying to enforce them.

  • @Rifraff89 said:

Exactly thelastgreatstar but you would be surprised how often it gets accused of being just that against some of the teams

Just ignore those people. I’ve been called a tunneller before because I happened to find somebody again. That’s not tunnelling as I didn’t actively go straight back to the hook to chase you down. I found you on a completely different side of the map. It’s not my fault you can’t hide well. Some people just let their egos get in the way and they have to come up with an excuse as to why they lost. Because you just outplaying them is out of the question. It’s just white noise to me now. If people want to talk that talk that’s up to them. I just pay it no mind.

  • @Rifraff89 said:

Of course not Everytime but when I'm left with no choice it becomes a must otherwise you'll end up with maybe 1 kill if your lucky. I just was implying to the teams that do that

But what you described in your original post isn’t camping. If you know another survivor is waiting around the hook, why would you leave? You’re not just going to give somebody a free unhook.

  • Mr. YeeHaw is one of my favourite killers to play as and I never camp. I wish people would stop putting killers into groups. Not everyone plays the same.

  • I’ve faced a lot of SWF and I’ve never felt the need to camp or tunnel. But you do you.

  • When I saw the title I had a feeling I shouldn’t bother coming to read what you wrote. I should have trusted my feeling.

  • When is @terumisan being banned? I’m all for differences of opinion, but somebody even having the audacity to think let alone openly post that paedophiles are a part of the LGBT need to get gone. Goodbye scum. 👋🏻

The sound makes the attack heavily telegraphed. The reason you mindgame with the ambush is that you have to since they hear it coming a mile away. All it's good for is hoping the Survivor screws up, which is not the hallmark of a good power IMO.

You’re right. I didn’t even think about the fact you wouldn’t need to mindgame if the ambush attack was silent in the first place lol. She could definitely do with some love. Considering Ghostface has no time penalty for crouching / standing back up, I think she should have the same. She’s so sluggish right now.

  • I’m surprised to see people want the sound removed from her ambush attack as that sounds like a huge nerf to me. The growl she makes is great for mind games and making people vault into you.

I don't think it worked like this in the past (which explains why you were confused), but somewhere along the way it got patched.

It’s annoying as I knew the killer had it, as it was an AFK Bubba who miraculously came back to life once the last gen popped. So I rightly predicted he was using NOED and BW. But my teammate was the one who opened. Oh well. I’ll be more careful in the future.

  • I agree that his unique perks are better suited on other killers but he is far from the worst killer. I use Monitor & Abuse, BBQ, Nurses and PGTW on him and he’s a beast. One of my favourite killers to play as.

And what is a NORMAL female character? You mean somebody who’s clearly been made by men for men like Kate? You don’t want NORMAL females. You want oversexualized ones. So say what you mean and mean what you say.

  • @LordGlint said:

If we DID get a survivor, it should be Joel since he kinda NEEDS a game that respects him.

You’re right. The Last of Us didn’t respect him by giving him a realistic death for the world he was in. I forgot he needed a big OTT heroic death so that the fan boys would be happy. Get a grip.

  • The Last of Us Part 1 & 2 are the best games ever made but I don’t see how they’d fit into this game.

  • Definitely not. Why would I want to play with or against a bunch of unskilled hackers?

  • I personally do great as Demilovatogorgon and I find him to be extremely underused.

  • In your opinion, but not to me. I have a lot of fun using that build and it makes getting gens done a lot easier in solo lobbies.

  • I’d be highly against this. I use No Mither paired with Resilience for faster actions, so I don’t want to have to get injured first for it to be activated. The only thing I personally want changed is constantly hearing the dying state music. I think it should only activate once you’re on the ground. Nothing else needs to be touched.

  • I used to want the same thing. I actually made a post last year saying that Small Game should come with a totem counter but I understand why that would be problematic. It would be like if a killer could see when somebody had DS or Unbreakable, it would just make those perks useless. This would be the same. Whenever I run Small Game, I always get the totems. No matter how big the map is. The range on level 3 is big enough that you can search the entire map without feeling like you’re wasting time. It’s definitely a great and extremely underrated perk.

  • @ironiron said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1429169#Comment_1429169

I agree, then it wouldn't render NOED useless like the guy above said

I mean, it still would. What’s the point of having a totem perk when all survivors know how many totems are standing? It’s already bad enough against people on mic, so this would just kill it completely. It’s not just NOED either, it would effect Devour Hope. Because more people would actively look for totems which would greatly decrease a killers chances of getting any use out of it.

  • @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1429146#Comment_1429146

Yeah I found that with nurse and billy, I can't flick or predict well... maybe one day. Also I really really want to like Myers but a slow build up always kills it for me. It's great once it starts rolling but sometimes it feels so sluggish. I like set up killers trapper and hag, it really satisfying to herd your prey into your traps.

I never played Billy or Nurse long enough to know whether I liked them or not, but I tend to favour the more stealth killers as that’s just a play style I enjoy. Michael is actually my favourite killer, but I have a great build on him so that helps. The start of the match is always the worst part, but once you get to Tier 2 things start getting better. Discordance is great with him as you can often find 2/3 survivors at the very start of the match which helps you to level up faster. I used to use that a lot before I got really comfortable with him.

I haven’t played a lot of Hag, but I love Trapper. Last year I went through a long period of only playing him. It’s so funny chasing survivors to your traps and just waiting for them to step in it. I think him and Michael are both similar in the way they can have slow starts but massive snowball effects in the late game.

  • That would render NOED virtually useless so I don’t think that change would be good in the slightest. NOED is perfectly balanced as it is. If you feel like you face it a lot, start running Small Game. It’s so easy to counter.

  • @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1429133#Comment_1429133

Cheers mate, it wasn't really a complaint I was just curious. Like most killers once you sus em out they tend to feel pretty balanced. Its more that the games had a predictable consistancy that I usually don't experience with other killers. Seems like there is an established counter to him that people try first in the event you aren't great at getting the shots.

No problem and no worries as I didn’t view your initial post as a complaint. The thing with killers is that they all have such different play styles and one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You might find that he just isn’t for you, but I would definitely still practise and see what happens.

  • @pseudechis said:

Ok these are all good points. I'll stick with him. 4.4 killers always feel a lil painful to me as the only one I play is hag and I main her. But then again if you are chasing someone as hag something has gone wrong. Hag hits should really be teleport hits.

It just felt like a well used counter as almost every survivor did the same thing every match, just run to the same loops without fail. It was almost like it was an understood counter to get him into that kind of play asap. It got predictable and resulted in some easy hits but really was odd. I'll stick with him, cheers for the replies.

Honestly it all just comes down to practise. I didn’t personally feel like I needed to ‘master’ him but that’s because like I said earlier, I play a lot of FPS, so to me, I have always felt at complete ease when playing him. All survivors have against killers are loops and pallets, when you get confident enough with him, he can take that all away. He can drag people back towards vaults and down them. Stop people reaching that corner of the wall, deny pallet drops and even drag people out of pallets who just wait under them. I’ve honestly had so many fun matches with him and most of it comes down to survivors not being able to predict me. A lot will run whilst looking behind as they think you’re going to shoot, which can give you easy downs when they run into a tree etc. I also pretend to shoot a lot to make survivors start trying to juke, as this can throw them off when you actually do shoot. Quick scoping is definitely the way to go with him. It doesn’t always pay off, but when it does, it feels so good.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1429068#Comment_1429068

Joining wasn't the right move but the jerks in this situation are the other survivors and people shouldn't blame him for joining they should blame the jerks for being jerks. If you drive by a area that is know for shooting and get shot you are stupid for driving by that area but the real problem is the people shooting and they should be blamed

I mean, that is a bit of an extreme example and I wouldn’t really compare being shot to willingly going into a party chat with people you know are about to be abusive. As I said, nobody is endorsing their behaviour. But this is just how some people are and the internet brings out the worst in humanity. If you can’t handle it, then either don’t play multiplayer games or don’t interact with people. I personally enjoy multiplayer games but can’t stand having to talk to others whilst I play. So I turn off my messages or mute people on mic etc. The abuse will always be there. You either find ways to deal with it or you play something else. You can get people banned but there will always be another toxic person waiting around the corner.

  • I find him incredibly strong and viable to play as in red ranks. But I play a lot of FPS so I’m great at getting quick scope shots with him. He’s just a killer you need to practise because the ones I face as survivor play him all wrong. They just walk around aiming his gun and that’s just not the way to play him. His ability to be able to deny vaults and loops is so good when you master it.

lmfao i like how thats your response not wow those guys are dicks. A decent chunk of dbds player base are annoying jizzmongers try to take them with a pinch of salt.

But everything you said just reiterates the question of why would you bother joining the party? You should know what to expect prior to entering. So find a new lobby and move on. Nobody is endorsing their behaviour, but the OP knowingly went into a situation they could have easily avoided. We know people are dicks online. That’ll never change. You take away their ‘power’ by ignoring them. Trolls love a response.

  • I go around breaking pallets (if I haven’t done that already) or I’ll just go and make a drink or something. If they want to waste their time by standing in the exit gate, that’s their choice.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

    Why even join the party?

A thousand times this. I’ve had people try to invite me to parties before on PS4 and I never join because I honestly couldn’t even care about what they had to say if I tried. It’s a game. If you can’t handle a loss, you shouldn’t be playing. Go and colour in a book or something.

  • SWF are easier to kill than solo lobbies in my opinion. I find a lot of solo players will hide and let their team die on hook, whereas SWF will waste time chasing you around whilst you chase their friends. I can honestly say that I win almost every match against a team of SWF. I think the only time they ‘win’ is when they find a key in a chest. I’ll never understand why so many killers have an issue with them. Do a lot of them like trying to make the killer have a bad time? Sure. But who gets the last laugh when they’re all sacrificed with 2-3 gens left standing.

I think a big part of the reason I got to rank 1 so fast was because I face SWF a lot. I swear 90% of them just hand the match over to you by trying to constantly flashlight save / body block.

Me and my Miguel love it and we can’t wait to see you and your friends in the fog sometime.

    3DC47170-C1FC-4DD6-8E25-EA770DF1435C.jpeg
  • I don’t get why this thread is just about Mr. YeeHaw. Aren’t a lot of killers ‘too good’ in solo lobbies? I feel like Ghostface, M&A Miguel etc can easily tear through a lot of solo lobbies because of their element of surprise. It doesn’t mean they have to be changed. I’ve gone against a lot of the killers mentioned above when I’m playing by myself and they can be easy to avoid. Spine Chill can pretty much take away all of their power and I feel like almost every lobby I get now has AT LEAST 2 survivors running it.

  • @malloymk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1428274#Comment_1428274

Exactly. He may be the weakest killer in the game. He has a lot of gimmick builds that are fun to play, but none of them are OP.

In what world is Miguel the weakest killer in the game? You’re either playing him wrong or going against players who play him wrong. I have no issues with him in red ranks.

  • First you need to find the right killer for you. One thing I love in any game I play is being able to be stealthy, so naturally I went for Michael Myers as he is deadly paired with Monitor & Abuse. I’d also recommend playing a lot of survivor so you can understand how most survivors operate this will help you in chases as you can sometimes predict what somebody will do before they do it, allowing you to get the down. Perks are also a major player. I never play a killer without PGTW as that’s one perk that can really slow down generator progression. BBQ is also great as it can let you know what the rest of the team are doing after you get a hook.

Once you’ve found a killer you really like, watch other people play as them on YouTube. As you’ll find some really useful tips. The biggest thing you need to do is practise. I was awful when I first started playing killer. But then I found my groove and what does and doesn’t work for me and I started making fast progression. I’m currently rank 1 and you’ll get there to if you just keep at it. Consistency is key.

  • The reason most people don’t like playing against Legion is the same reason as Doctor. It’s their ability to counter stealth. And unlike Doctor, hiding in a locker doesn’t work with Legion. They’ll still see you with frenzy. Plus it’s the constant having to mend over and over and almost every Legion (myself included) will run Thanataphobia to encourage healing which isn’t something people recommend whilst playing against them.

  • @Aneurysm said:

Killer is the more fun one for me, even if it's more liable to stress me out. As survivor you're much more dependent on all the other players for it to be a good experience.

Yeah that’s the thing that always sticks in my mind. I can sometimes get some really great and capable teammates. But it’s becoming a rarity. I’m also encountering a lot of selfish players who will do nothing all game except for getting in lockers waiting for the team to die. I just find that the survivors kill me more than the killer. I love being in control.

Majority of good killers, have played a tremendous amont of survivor too. Welcome to the darkside friend. I am by all accounts a killer "main" but I play surv everyday too.

I’ve always said this. You need to play both sides to understand both sides. When I’m playing as a killer I find it easy to mind game as I just assume the survivor is going to do what I would do in the same situation and more often than not, they do. Plus I love knowing that I’m making people jump as I use M&A on my Miguel and I know it catches almost everybody off guard. Haha

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/169805/i-m-starting-to-prefer-playing-as-killer

Yep, this is me too. :) I started playing in 2018 and was about 90% survivor/10% killer for a while. Now I’m a red rank Trapper main and have waaaay more fun playing killer than survivor these days and play it a lot more than survivor as a result. If I get bored of a certain killer I can switch it up, which keeps the game fresh. I get tons more bloodpoints. I don’t have to lose because my team sabotaged me, if I lose it’s usually because I didn’t play well enough. But that said I kill 3/4 survivors in most of my matches and rarely have balance complaints, to be honest. It’s definitely kept the game fun for me.

I agree with everything you said.

I also love Trapper, I went through a phase last year where I only played him as his ability to stop chases with his traps is amazing. I’m currently back playing as my #1 Miguel but I don’t stick to one killer, they are all fun to play as. I sometimes change my killer depending on the lobby. If it’s a lobby full of stealth characters, I’ll play as Legion etc. I just love that every killer makes you approach games and scenarios differently. You don’t find that with survivor because your perks don’t really alter the match that much.

  • @Clevite said:

I played a lot of killer when I started. Then recently played a lot of survivor to change it up after achieving all my goals as killer.

I have found myself lately a 50/50 player.

I went from survivor main to 50/50. But I’ve just noticed recently that I find myself clicking into killer lobbies more than survivor ones. I don’t like having to rely on having a decent team to get objectives done and since the new matchmaking I’m finding myself with a lot of teammates who are 10 ranks below me, and that’s just not fun because I can’t expect them to be at the same skill level as me but I also shouldn’t be expected to play in a lobby with them. 😂

  • I’ll never understand this argument. As a rank 1 killer I actually PREFER facing SWF as they are normally too altruistic and give you easy downs. They will spend half the game chasing after you whilst you chase their friends instead of doing generators. It’s great.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 17
