For some stupid reason the devs wont add the option to play with mouse and keyboard on console, even tho they perfectly know there's people on PC playing with controller. What a ######### joke we are for them...

Even if they were to do that, they STILL need to consider those that prefer to use a controller in part of the design process and coding process.

  • @HellDescent said:

Be patient. Watch for pattern. When they are juking they are usually not looking in front of them, so wait until they bump into an obstacle and their movement is limited. Also a lot of us console players don't expect pounces from far back since it's a lot easier when you're up close and personal there with the Baby, so you can take a risk and try to go for a few of those long pounces while they are running away in a straight line

I seem to be ok with long shots, but they’re still risky. And on some maps they’re just not possible with the gen positioning.

U don't have to buy the next dlc...

But I’m not going to know that until I try the killer. There’s no test mode.

welcome to what blight, huntress, billy, oni, deathslinger, pyramid head, and nurse all feel on a daily basis, too much survivor agility in terms of spinning like a bayblade

This is already the exact reason I gave up on Deathslinger, Blight, and PH.

At least with Demo I don’t feel so punished missing a shred.

  • Because they’re hot headed and not thinking straight. It’s probably not till after they’ve DC’d that they realise how many points they lost, and that probably makes them fume even more.

I like this chase theme for Clown that Mr. Envy created.

I feel it fits him and his personality.

Some minor tweakage maybe, but overall it builds well and the intensity of the actual “chase” portion is horrific.

Makes survivors run even harder when they hear that menacing music just thinking of what Clown wants to do with their fingers😧

    https://youtu.be/0CJmKbzy9GQ

That was so damn super cool. Thematically sounds “right”. Manages to include circus like theme without cheese. It actually sounds sinister and threatening.

@TheClownIsKing To debunk you saying Moris are still useful ill go over your suggestions.

    1. Mitigate DS - No, by a late stage in the game a DS is usually already burned off or me keeping a mental note of it allows me sift through remaining survivors. Also rude of you to assume idd tunnel. 😘
    2. Mitigate FlipFlop, SoulGuard, Unbreakable - Bold of you to assume that you would have enough time use that perk against me. Im a fast hooker. and Unbreakable is only one use.
    3. Mitigate Flashligh Saves - No, a smart Killer always checks surroundings first or faces as wall or Lightborn.
    4. Mitigate Pallet Saves - No, a smart Killer always checks surroundings first or avoids walking through pallets or Hex: Blood Favour.

As you can see any Killer worth their salt, Having been trained by this game will find only niche use in the new Mori Offerings.

Yes. I didnt use Moris before, But why the hell would I even use them now?

BHVR made a quickfix, I sure hope they make it useful again at a later date.

None of those points change the fact that Mori’s, even with their new change, still mitigate those issues.

A player can play around them, or 100% not have to deal with those issues at all at endgame by using a mori.

Why do you think PH has been so popular? Keep them tormented till they’re in death hook. Now that survivor is 100% dead and nothing at all can be done by them, or their team mate.

  • @vixxiedust said:

mama killer should have a power that makes her crawl really fast when traveling from a distance but will be block by obstacles if there is an obstacle.

a perk "hide and seek" being able to see someone hiding inside the locker at 2 meter distance,

a perk "Hex: run but you can't hide" being able to see a survivor running while mama is using crawl at 24 meter distance.

a perk "life drain" triggers 1 special skill check when healing, and fixing a generator within mama's 8 meter radius. if the survivor fails this special skill check he or she will lose 1 state of life.

Why would an obstacle block her when in the movie she can pass through whatever she pleases?

it's the same reason why so many iridescent add-ons in the game have the number 12 in them

    there isn't one

I mean both of the Twins iridescent make sense, and emphasise the fact the the two should never be separated too far from each other in order to play optimally.

But the blindness add on doesn’t make sense. 30 seconds maybe, but not 15 seconds.

You can just jump into lockers against Victor now, especially if Charlotte isn't nearby.

What the heck does that have to do with Hexes?!

  • A smart Twins would do the reverse by parking Charlotte in front of a hex, and just always sending Victor out when he respawns, and only leaving the hex once everyone is slugged.

Franklins doesn't need this perk because i can see when an item is picked up by survivors, the item even has an aura, so why do i need explosions to happen?

By just standing, and staring at the item aura so you can know the exact moment a pick up occurs?!

Hoarder with Franklins means a killer can know exactly when an item is picked up, rather than simply notice the item is no longer there in passing by the area.

  • @Bjario said:

Maybe it works well with franklins. Survivors usually want their item back

It does work well with Franklins as I’ve done this quite a bit.

  • Flashlights aren’t toxic, but they are incredibly obnoxious.

  • @onemind said:

Yea we have the mori thing which is already bad they reverted changes to yellow flashlight but now the locker blocking makes the twins sorta bad I haven't tested the twins yet but with the wording up to 10s makes it seem like they can get out quicker than 10 s not to mention the 3s where you can't move so it's more like 7s or less

It’s to emphasise the fact that The Twins shouldn’t be used in a way where Victor is taken incredibly far from Charlotte.

A player shouldn’t be putting them on opposite sides of the map from each other.

exactly this, the new killer perk is actually a direct survivor buff lol. I'm actually more determined not to get the twins til this is fixed.

they're just trying to erase their obvious **** up from the release notes because people arent getting the twins.

I really liked the info Hoarder was already giving me. But this was Previn knowledge that the reduced item rarity function would be fixed.

Now i’m not so sure i’ll continue using it.

because these are two completely different conditions. One means you can camp first hook and mori, and the other means you cannot camp and mori.

It’s if the survivor reached the second hook phase.

If the stick with the two hook requirement, it would mean a survivor going to second hook phase on their first hook cannot be mori’d

+ Oblivious Survivors are most likely more aware of their sorroundings so that a cloaked Wraith sneaking up might even be spotted easier.

It’s just a redundant status effect on Wraith. No Wraith in their right mind out of chase will stay uncloaked in the hope of sneaking up on someone Oblivious without having to use the wailing bell so they don’t give themselves away.

  • @Awakey said:

    Why?

Let me preface by saying I'm not LGBT-phobic or spreading hate speech or anything, I'm just stating my opinion.

If a character is made ONLY to be LGBT and that's their WHOLE personality, then it wouldn't be a good addition, neither would cheesily integrating it into a character's current lore.

WHY does it matter if there's an LGBT character? Why do we need one? What's the point? "oH hEY gUys, wE aDdeD An LGBT cHaRIcTer." I don't care whether my character is a regular ass person or a goddamn gay tomato, I just want the gameplay to be good.

    There just isn't a reason.

Thank you for coming to my very short TED talk.

Because despite a monumental amount of progress on attitudes towards diversity and tolerance, there are still an uncountable amount of places where it is still a lonely, terrifying place to be LGBTIQ.

I guarantee you that right now there will be players in this community where within their own PHYSICAL community they’re isolated, and still too terrified to let anyone else who they really are on the inside. It’s a very lonely existence when you feel you need to hide every single day of your life. It’s also extremely exhausting. For these people, media is their only solace in finding connection, representation, and role models.

Everybody needs to have SOMETHING, somewhere, no matter who or what you are whereby they/we can find solidarity and common ground, otherwise we simply go crazy, or thoughts go even darker (I don’t think it’s necessary to explicitly state what I mean as I think the implication is obvious).

It’s easy to say something like this is unnecessary in DBD, and I understand why some people feel that way. It probably means life outside of gaming is good for you, and that’s great.

But whereas an LGBTIQ character in DBD might mean nothing to many, for some players, particularly younger ones, their favourite game might provide them enough of a sliver of hope to just keep holding on.

So if everyone is injured I just put a guy on a hook and death bound procs ik there's 2 survivors over there 1 just healed and the other is injured I can go for the down because ik where he's at and also pressure the healed guy at the same time how is it bad?

Oblivious on whoever is effected isn’t any good to Wraith. You’re never going to attempt sneaking up to anyone uncloaked, and anyone Oblivious will still hear the wailing bell when uncloaking anyway. If you want a reliable tracking info perk that works great on Wraith, either stick with Bloodhound, or use Spies from the Shadows. Wraith doesn’t disturb crows while he’s cloaked, meaning they’ll always be there if survivors move past them within Spies active radius.

Congrats, man. I enjoy unlocking the achievements, too. Then, I'll be back to just having the one unreachable achievement: Skilled Huntress.

    Well done.

Yeah I’ll probably never get that one with Huntress either. I don’t like her, and I’m no good with her either.

  • @Yords said:

We all can agree that this game is toxic, very toxic on both sides. For most people, this might not even affect you other than just upset you for a bit. Seriously, I know that we have all gotten upset over this game, especially this game because of the balance issues, but I am not going to go over that right now.

Toxicity doesn't do much to most players of this game, at most it just enrages them for a bit. However, there are people who play this game who are depressed, or very stressed and just want to play a game to relax and have fun. But then they get messages in the endgame chat such as "Go commit die" or "trash killer can only win by killing survivors as killer". I won't get too into it here but the messages get MUCH more 'explicit' if you know what I mean.

I guarantee you that everyone experiences toxicity in this game almost on a daily basis. I personally have received some messages that I am almost glad I got from sore losers. I say this because at least they didn't say these things to someone who really doesn't need this in their life right now.

The worst message I got was from someone who was probably having a bad day already. I was told to commit suicide, eat feces and die, and send the video to him after slicing my wrists; he literally sent me his snapchat... yeah so this is the kind of behavior I am talking about (I myself am fine btw, I laughed about this). Now, imagine some person who is depressed or just really stressed reading that. Ok, sure that might not push them over the edge, but it might.

Now why? Why the hell are you telling someone to off themselves over a game??? I am going to be honest with you, I rage when playing this game. But I have never told someone to go kill themselves. In fact, I still say "gg, gl on next" every game until the insults start rolling out.

I really hope that my reports for harassment actually does something. But the sad part is that it probably doesn't, even though I have evidence of it. This is why an update to the reporting system needs an update. You know, among tons of other things BHVR ignores.

There is another person on the other side of the screen btw. They are humans, people tend to forget that sometimes.

    Well said.

Most players would never bother to consider what else is going on in another players life before sending a harder, abusive message.

Some people could be so close to the edge, that that one message could be the nail in the coffin.

That sounds like it has potential to be really cool!

An example could be say Claudette. It could be that she either Empathy becomes roided up Blood Pact where any injured survivor can see her and know where to get healed. Or it could be that she has even more increased healing speed with both BK and Self Care. Something enticing enough, but not ridiculously strong either. We don’t want bonuses so strong that killers could easily predict what’s likely to be in the lobby, and adjust load out accordingly based on just how far too good the bonuses are that they can’t be passed up

  • @Rydog said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1802335#Comment_1802335

I theoretically like the idea of giving each survivor a specific innate perk that only they have. But I think they would need to couple it with not showing the killer any info (i.e. which survivors and items are being picked) before the match. They would also need to be the most benign perks (like Soul Survivor or Left Behind), otherwise no one would play anyone but Bill and Laurie.

I once proposed something much more risk reward focused, that would still leave the killer in the pregame lobby filled with enough doubt whether the survivors utilise this or not.

My old idea was if a survivor chose to use all 3 of their teachables, leaving them only freedom with their 4th slot, then they’re bestowed a unique character trait bonus of some sort. It would put more consideration into a load out for the survivor. Do they want the unique bonus? Or are they happy to forfeit that for build freedom?

  • @chieften333 said:

I know this would be controversial, but what if survivors only had 3 perk slots, but the fourth would be an innate perk for that survivor.

Like claudette having botany knowledge innately, so she's a better healer. This would give survivors more unique aspects about them, and make them more than just skins.

That’s too much pregame info for the killer though, and helps them too much to adjust their load out.

  • @Ghoste said:

I'll just be blunt about it, Survivors are all the same; therefore, they bring no new game mechanics with them.

The Killer is what we all really care about. Killers want to use their new mechanics, and Survivors want to play against those new mechanics.

So how about we just get rid of the fluff? Instead of adding yet another skin dispensary (let's be honest, that's all Survivors are), focus on just the Killer so its new gameplay is enjoyable for both sides, and also bug-free.

And you might say, well what about Survivor perks? We only get new ones with new Survivors! And to that I say, you're right! So with each new content update the devs would revamp existing Survivor perks so they feel new and fresh to use.

All in all, I'd like to see this game avoid DLC entirely and focus on game health instead. But since that isn't going to happen, BHVR could at least only focus on the important stuff (New Killers), and they could finally get around to rehashing the heaping pile of perks no one wants to play with.

    That won’t happen.

They still have tonnes of survivor perk ideas to implement, and they prefer to use a new character as a vehicle for that rather than “perk packs”, because they make a lot of additional income from survivor cosmetics.

  • @noctis129 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/211740/insidious-basement-bubba-urban-legend-or-real

The purpose of the exageration is to convince the devs to do something about camping. Entitled survivors have a loud voice. And they have made it clear, there should be some kind of barrier to block killers from camping.

Insidious Basement bubba camping is so rare. The only time I came across one was when I tried it myself.

    Yeah they’re very rare.

Even though when it does indeed work, the survivors are screwed, it’s still such a huge gamble for the killer. This is why it’s rare.

  • @Almo said:

This requirement will stay. There are things we don't want, like someone going into dying state due to a Bear Trap with Honing Stone triggering stuff like Surge. The alternative to the basic attack requirement is making exceptions. For example we could say Surge works for Demo Shred, but not Trapper BT/HS. Now every time we add a new Killer, we potentially have to through and update every perk with these exceptions. It's just not a maintainable design with the vast amount of perk/addon/power combinations available.

Since every Killer can basic attack, we can create the perk, and know exactly how it works with every Killer without having to check a ton of different interactions. If this means some perks don't work well given some Killers' powers, then that's just the way of it. Not every perk is exactly as useful on one Killer as it is on the others. Learning to choose your perks well to synergize with your chosen Killer is one of the important skills in DbD.

I have heard it said that this answer means we're "lazy"... that we're not willing to "do things that take work". Whole programming languages and paradigms have been based around preventing the same thing in code as we're trying to prevent in design with this strategy. You don't want a ball of yarn of a design where tugging on any little thing pulls a whole ton of others.

In a game as complex as DbD, there will necessarily be some of that. But minimizing it through smart design is still a worthwhile endeavor.

Thanks for some thorough insight on this.

I’ve also thought it was a fairness thing as well. For example, why should Billy have two ways to activate Surge, whereas Clown simply only has the one way? Why should Billy, Demo, Bubba, etc etc get additional advantage from such perks?

  • @Dabihwow said:

I love the Santa Clown, in fact I think many people said they would love a Santa Clown outfit, and here we are now. My only issues with the outfit is that, it isn't really a clown outfit, it still looks cool, I just wish the beard was more realistic, or have face paint. And to cover up his bulging belly and chest. It aught to be cold as hell outside and you dressing up like that doesn't seem entirely realistic to me, but hey what am I to complain

I really love how his outfit comes together. It tells the exact story I think the devs are trying to tell.

Clown, before being taken by the entity, broken and poverty stricken, takes what little employment he can. He does a shopping mall Santa job, but puts so little effort into it because he doesn’t give a crap, and rocks up to work drunk and disheveled.

  • I mean you have no credibility. You can’t claim it’s easy when you yourself admitted that you haven’t got the Adept yet because you don’t have all their perks.

They’ve been out almost a week now, and it takes next to no BP at all to get a killer to level 10 to equip all 3 teachables.

You are just a charlatan. That’s why I can’t take you seriously.

I never understood why this game brings out the worst in some people. I get the game is stressful, but saying all of this over a video game is just so mean and honestly kinda sad. Its probably just a bad day mixed with a bad situation, but there's no excuse for death threats and homophobic slurs. They said worse stuff but I'm not too sure what is or isn't allowed to be posted here so I just posted the tame stuff.

To sum the game up: I hooked someone in the first 15 seconds, I turn around and see someone trying to blend in with the corn thats 8 feet in front of me with the new froggie suit and downed them instantly, I look over at the hook while my chainsaw is finishing revving and the third survivor literally runs besides me to run to the hook, I down her and the last guy just sits on bones and lets her team die. Sure it sucks when games end fast over teammates not playing smart, but that's hardly the killers fault.

Is there anyway to report these guys directly to someone? Or is the in-game report the only way?

They can’t accept the fact that they were playing really badly by all being grouped up together. So they lash out like the vile waste of space that they are.

Exactly. I figured this when I first played her, learned of the stun when I accidently stood too close to the pallet (because you know the pallet hit box doesn't even have to reach the Killer to stun them 🙄.

The real trick to playing Charlotte is using Charlotte to block off a doorway, window/ledge, or generator.

I don’t know what possessed people to think Charlotte would suddenly become invincible to pallets just because she’s sleeping. Lol.

  • Yeah this is known. Charlotte standing dormant in a pallet is a really dumb thing for that player to do.

A 4k is not the same as getting adept. You may have 4k'd most of your matches but something tells me they were all brutal and not merciless. Anyone can 4k. Don't diminish the challenge of getting a merciless victory on a bugged out killer using perks that are also bugged while the emblem system itself is also buggy.

    Thank you

  • @Withered8 said:

His hotboxes rlly aren't that bad. If it was easy to hit as victor and impossible to dodge as survivor, then Victor would be broken as hell, there would legit be nothing stopping the 150% double demo range lunge gremlin.

Also remember that you have a 6 second cooldown on Victor. That's legit nothing. You kick him and he's back on you before 10 seconds has passed. Being kicked hardly punished you unless you've sent Victor to the other side of the map.

Yes, but if the survivors are easily dodging him all the time, then it doesn’t matter how quickly he respawns. There’s no point using him against those teams.
