  • You're right. I propose we nerf the pig. Infact, remove her entirely from the game. This is clearly the most balanced choice, traps will be re-added as a 10,000 auric cell cosmetic exclusive to the first 4 survivors.

  • The silent hill chapter and descend beyond was probably dbd's ultimate apex. We got a DLC from a title that had been effectively dead for over 10 years, and 2 great characters at that, even getting the esteemed Akira Yamaoka on board for the music. After that we got a DLC that was effectively the culmination of 4 years of the games lore, ending up in the release of our beloved blighty boy, and all the insanely skilled players he birthed. I don't think DBD will ever hit 2 high notes that rapidly ever again, but boy those were some amazing few months.

  • wait for it to be neither of them and then were all wrong again. I Try not to speculate, BHVR always has an ace up their sleeve. (Unless they leak an entire dev build, looking at you ghostie.)

  • Because the new animations are polished and fitting of the more regal aura BHVR wants DBD to give off. Hence all the graphical updates as well to bring it up towards mainstream appeal. Some people may have loved old animations, but they didn't appeal to the mainstream. They were very amateurish and janky.

  • Trapper is like jesus, he will eternally be the worst killer in the game so future killers can be useful and fun.

    Trapper died for our sins

  • I'd love to see more manlet representation in DBD.

  • I gotta be real with you. Why even bother playing the game if you find literally 12/24 killers always unfun, and 7 more of them "depend." The game would be way more fun if you complained less, i can assure you.

  • Tapp and jeff. Tapp seems like the type of guy who would do anything to protect the other survivors, and he's a determined and smart dude. After what the jigsaw case did to his mental health i feel like he'd need some friends. Jeff just seems like a good dude in general, hes portrayed as a kind artistic man with a penchant for more obscure interests like deathmetal.

  • Hes such a heavily desired killer at this point that its basically a meme. "This time it'll be candyman!!! Guys believe me!!!" and honestly after hearing it so much i kinda agree. I Hope it is candyman. I've never watched the movies and i know basically nothing about him, but it would be exciting to have another lisenced character in our roster. Free publicity for a game i love.

  • You effectively breed 2 birds and have no stone by doing this. SWF's will now struggle with significantly longer queue times by no fault of their own, even the SWF's that are just friends playing together instead of seal team death squads. More particularly duos, since a very large amount of SWF's are just 2 friends playing together. Same for killer, a large amount of the player base (i'd estimate maybe 30=40%?) are SWF. Mostly duos, which would MAJORLY alienate the lobbys you'd get, which would leave you with unbearable queue times. Im sorry to say but just tough up and accept you'll get bullied sometimes. You're only one person and theres 4 of them, sometimes the collective beats the individual. Ya can't win em all.

  • They're not "weak" per say, just super buggy. Say one of your zombies has a navmesh seizure and gets stuck on a rock, and decides not to move the whole game. Nemesis has to basically waddle over like trapper and kill it so he can have 2 functional zombies. They can also ocasionally screw you over, like sitting infront of hooks like idiots while you're carrying a survivor, or giving survivors speedboosts in the middle of a chase. They do provide pretty awesome passive gen pressure though when they do work, so they aren't weak. Just situational and buggy.

  • Legitimately seek medical attention for parkinsons if you find them to be difficult, they are not hard. You'd have to be actually geriatric to fail one.

  • While he is cloaked treat him as if he could instadown you at any moment, be exceptionally cautious and utilize the enviroment to your advantage. A cloaked wraith struggles at windows since he has to guess which way you're gonna go, but pallets are not the same case. Never use pallets against a cloaked wraith unless you are 100% sure you can safely manuever away after that. When wraith is cloaked, he can just break the pallet and instantly catch up, its a bad use of a pallet. If you can force him to uncloak at loops where his super lunge cannot help him get an injure, you can effectively force him to play like a normal m1 killer. Im not great with survivor advice since a lot of my experience is subconcious, but essentially force wraith into scenarios where he must act as an m1 killer. It wastes a ton of his time and gives your teamates the opportunity to do gens in the very rare situations where he is not omnipresent on the map.

  • No way out is fine as is. It synergizes well with other endgame perks and wastes a pretty admirable amount of time. I Don't think it needs any changes.

  • Meg is there to get rekt for our amusement

If you have a problem with the current, bugged Spirit for anything but the stand-still mindgame, you're predictable and are the problem.

Sure, the survivor is the probably for not equipping iron will ever single game just to counter the 1 possible spirit they encounter.

Come on dude. Its not fun to be deprived of all sensory information, while the spirit has every possible in game sound at her disposal. She stands still, and then you die in 10 seconds.

  • Hes a serial #########, serial killer, drug addict, morbidly obese hedonist.

He literally hates all humans, he sees life as a toy he can end and collect. Hes not racist, he just loves killing people.

  • This is intended. Its to force ghostface to be stealthier around hooked survivors to prevent him from camping, i think? Im not super sure why he can be revealed by survivors on the hook, but i can't complain since its a decent balance to him.

  • No??? Its there for balance dummy. Whole reason perks like iron will exist, the chase music obscures sound so it gives the survivor an opportunity to mindgame the killer.

  • I really wish props had a tangible benefit. Say if one player gets a ton of props from unique players (only 1 prop is counted from each player) they get a good sportsmanship bloodpoint bonus and a charm. It would massively incentivize being kinder and a better sport, which would be good for the community. I also always wanted killer emotes, being able to "BOO!" as ghostface would be an amazing emote, stuff like that would be a good addition to the game if it was managed well.

  • You're his boss, go fire that slacker

  • its HIGHLY likely we'll get it sometime this month. My bet is around the end of this month.

  • Your time is wasted either way. If the match will take longer than eating a 5 minute penalty, then DC and wait it out. If theres only like 2 minutes of the match left, just AFK so the least of your time is wasted.

  • Hes simply been made weaker in areas he already struggled. he can massacre out in the open, cuts down grouped up survivors comparable to bubba, and even facecamps almost as good as bubba. However undeniably he also sucks a LOT more at higher/longer loops where his blade decay becomes a huge detriment and he wastes tons of knives. Main event is also back to being about as useless as it was pre-buff, and his huge lack of blades leaves him wasting tons of time reloading. Hes not weaker, hes just become a much more Feast/Famine dependent killer.

  • This is the way it should be now? I'm hardly bothered by it because i haven't gotten any questionable hits. I'd rather the game be balanced than win via buggy means

    So many reasons.

Like Pulsar said, other players is a large factor. The two sides are not nice to each other. Rather than a friendly rivalry, this game has cultivated a hateful us vs them mentality that just doesn't abate.

Why do the two sides hate each other? Because the most efficient way to win is to deny the other side a chance to play. The more efficient you are, the more miserable the opposing side is. One side feels rushed to complete their objective, the opposing side responds in kind, and it's an endless cycle. One of the most effective ways for killers to slow down gen repair is to get the match down to a 1v3 as fast as possible. The survivor who gets tunneled out feels singled out, they feel cheated out of getting to participate in the match, and they feel like they waited in a queue for nothing. But if a killer doesn't do that they risk getting gen rushed and then they're the one who's miserable. It's rare that both sides walk away feeling good about a match.

The game doesn't reward much in terms of points. The grind is crazy, and when a player ends with very few Bloodpoints because the other side played efficiently, it's upsetting. If the game were more rewarding, that could help a lot. Instead, at the end of a bad match, it feels like you got nothing out of it.

Survivors get frustrated because they feel their teammates are potatoes or their teammates are sandbagging or farming them. Killers feel frustrated because it's a 1v4 situation and they can't be in 4 places at once; one mistake can cost them multiple gens.

Because of how frustrated players get, they have a habit of being both bad losers and bad winners. This increases the frustration of those around them, and it's all just an endless cycle.

This feels pretty accurate to the thought process i've been having around why the game is the way it is. This is a good way to put it.

  • We can assume hes likely somewhere in the realm, as he seemed to be on the path of finding out the eldritch secrets of the realm. Talbot, Vigo, And Benedict all shared the rare ability to live on the outskirts of the entities realm. Truthfully, because of how vast it is, Benedict really could be anywhere. What we can say for sure though is that he no longer participates in the trials, like vigo. Benedicts entries stopped around the release of the clown/spirit, so we can assume whatever truth of the realm he found occurred around then. While we may not have heard from him in a while, we can equally assume the overseer knows where he is and what hes doing. Hopefully he imparts some of that knowledge on us some day, i have a good feeling Benedict has been doing some pretty important stuff.

  • It sucks for them too though. Even if you learn the layout of the map, chaining loops together is incredibly difficulty because of the sheer size and confusing layout. Frankly nobody should be sent to that map, and you're a jerk for sending a killer, and your fellow survivors to that hellhole

  • Git gud and stop perk shaming. The only way to win is to not suck and have fun.

  • Trapper. He is and forever will be the undisputed king of bad killers

  • This is one of the lower points in the games recent history, i'll say. 2 underwhelming killers in a row, most of the new perks are pretty boring and unassuming, the entire console community suffered for almost 2 full months, the recent trickster buffs are frustrating and equally underwhelming, an incredibly boring event with rehashed cosmetcs, etc etc. We all have a right to be pretty bummed right now, DBD is just not in a healthy place. Were moving out of the proverbial silver age of content we had for the last year and a half and moving back into another dark age.

  • Isn't neighborville the worst in in the series? i always heard GW2 was the gilded gem of the 3 games

I'm pretty sure Almo said that Pig is getting an add-on pass soon. Maybe it's that?

  • This game has no QOL settings like FOV for a reason. It crosses the INCREDIBLY thin line this game treads between what is cheating and what is not. This game is balanced around its base settings and nothing else, to subvert that is ultimately cheating. Stretched res is cheating. Color correction is cheating. Sharpening visuals is cheating. I Am completely for the temp banning of any players that utilize external graphical enhancements to get an edge.

  • she is literally exactly the same with a 5 second cooldown between each 2 blink chain, relax.

  • I really hope they implement this elsewhere. THIS is a skillcheck. Pressing spacebar a single time on the worlds biggest margin is not very skillful, it just adds a small layer of entertainment to holding m1.

  • I don't really care that much about tunnelling unless its strictly malicious. If you stun a killer once, and he focuses you the entire game (including proxy camping the hook so he can instantly chase you once you're off it) then it becomes problematic. Killers unintentionally tunnel pretty often, sometimes survivors are just unlucky or out of position. But when a killer does it JUST because they hate you, and is trying to do whatever they can to make sure you don't have fun? Thats extremely problematic and unhealthy for the game. Same thing as facecamping your first down and things like that, stuff done strictly to ruin another players experience is not good for game health.

  • The big poignant issue with tricksters """""rework""""" is that it cripples him in areas he was already struggling. Less knives to down? Great! he was struggling with his lethality at loops. Less knives to work with? Not great! trickster already struggled with his knife count since it took so many to down people and it was easy to miss them. Main event can now be held for 30 seconds, and is effectively instant when triggered? Awesome! Trickster almost never got use out of main event due to how short the window was to use it. Bumping the needed knives to acquire it all the way to 30/44 of his carried knives? Not great! Trickster will VERY frequently be low on knives upon obtaining it, thus forcing him to choose between reloading for longevity or potentially getting a down with it but skipping on a time saving reload. The people changing him clearly understood in the manners in which he struggled, but are so damn clearly afraid of making a strong killer. They didn't change his movement speed, they made laceration tick down faster which in conjunction with his slow speed makes him agonizing to play on extended chases, his map pressure is literally non existent, etc etc. Im tired of them being so cowardly about making strong killers, the wraith rework was the most recent time we got a strong killer and they've instantly backed down into their crying corner when a small portion of the community were salty that he was a lot stronger. I weep for trickster, and i mourn what he could have been. and never will be.

  • Me who used to main them:

haha yeah guys, what a terrible killer am i right...?

  • Terry Akers from SOMA. Dude is scary as all hell and the aesthetic of SOMA is to die for. Alternatively one of the grunts from amnesia would also be pretty awesome.

  • Keys. Nothing else really bothers me, all the other items are tame additions to a match that make it more interesting.

Broken keys are the worst though, they piss me off. Stupid OP, they need a nerf badly.

Another option is to add a big red sign at the store:

"Warning: we reserve the rights to change all of the skin looks at any time. Buy at your own risk."

BHVR? Implying absoloutely any possible fault in their product? Impossible.

  • They mostly changed the lighting. The map is a lot prettier now, especially with each object having its own unique colored lighting. The tiling was also changed and the snow particle effects were scaled down. overall big performance and beauty upgrades.

  • Back onto the shelf, i guess. His buff hasn't really fixed his core issues, and in fact has escalated his existing frustrations to an unbearable degree. BHVR has done this several times, they'll buff a killer to state in which everybody hates them and leave them like that for a very long time without adressing them at all. See freddy.

  • The buff seriously missed the mark. They made him less fun to play by punishing him in areas where he already struggled, and overbuffing him in situations where he was already benefitting. The buff should've focused on reworking his kit to be more enjoyable and useful all around, not just a "instantly kill anybody in the open and nowhere else" buff.
