  • Its a strat yes, but if you don't enjoy depipping and losing every possible bloodpoint you could've earned, you might as well just let them 4k.

  • Survivors hate killers that prevent them from W+Shifting, simple as that. Its why theres so much hate for catchup killers.

On the one hand, I agree. Too many people just blame "the other side" for everything that's wrong with the game.

Here's the thing, though: some negative aspects of the game are the fault of people on one side or the other. Here are a couple examples:

    • Why don't we have anti-camping mechanics like slowing down sacrifice speed? Because survivors abused it.
    • Why can't killers see survivors' ranks? Because killers abused it.

If I were to mention either one on its own, I'd be accused of anti-[side] or pro-[other side] bias, because people think being "unbiased" means you have to either criticize everything or praise everything, no matter if you're criticizing/praising one side for something mild and another for something serious; gotta engage in false equivalences or you're not "unbiased".

Furthermore, some things are connected. Gen speed and sacrifice speed, for instance. Can't change one without at least thinking about how it affects the other. It's not "us vs. them" or "whataboutism" to consider the game as a whole.

This is an insightful comment, thank you for the input.

  • Im always looking for new survivors to play the game with. Red rank Yui main, but i've also p3'd leon and enjoy going for flashbang plays lul. i honestly just play to make sure my teamates get out, i like finding random SWF's like this who just wanna have fun and don't mind if i make a mistake or two. I Shot a friend RQ your way, feel free to invite me anytime im online, if im playing DBD i ain't got nothing better to do

  • My number 1 killer rule is that Jill and Chris must die *at all costs* when i am playing nemesis. S.T.A.R.S.!!!!!

  • This community is full of the most pathetic manchildren i have ever seen in any game ever. Even f-kin league doesn't have this many whiny disconnectors.

  • @CrimsonMothKing said:

The Devs have said that they will not be removing the speed boost from the infection hit as, during play testing without it, Nemesis felt way too oppressive in the 1v1 chase.

These are the same devs who seemingly have 0 plans of changing PTB trickster. Why do we have such imbeciles developing this game? Nemesis needs this QOL so badly.

  • The map balance of this game is truly agonizing. it should NOT be a facet of your game for players to load in on one of the maps and all collectively roll their eyes as they prepare for an unfun match.

I see that they at least tried to make Nemesis faithful to his Resident Evil origin.

The zombies, the T-Virus, tentacle strike, mutation mechanic and the soundtrack.

But he falls flat in his gameplay. He just feels like a weaker Pyramid Head.

The mutation mechanic had so much potential, instead it just increases the range of the tentacle strike and allows you to break pallets with it. It could have been something that made him stronger as the trial goes on.

The mutation mechanic is primarily where a lot of my sadness lies. This comment kinda nails it on the head, mutation had so much potential but ended up being boring statistical increases. Being able to break pallets is awesome, thats mutation! gaining one meter in range is not a mutation, its an addon at best.

  • Deliverance is already a pretty annoying perk as is when combined with DS, i would much prefer that a survivors second hook be a guranteed death without the help of their teamates.

    Don’t care, boring character

Thats kind of the point of the post, isn't it?

  • Perhaps its the fact i have over 2.5k hours in this game, but i'd say a good 80-90% of my games are 4k's or 3k's with hatch escapes. A lot of the games where i fail is because of very good survivors or im just being really stupid. I Play basically every killer (except nurse and spirit) and can perform quite well with them.

Never thought in my years of playing Silent Hill and being so afraid of Pyramid Head, would I see the day people are memeing around for his bum. Of all things.

Y’all are truly, truly something else.

  • For licensed? SInce it hasn't been said yet, the Keeper from evil within, or Anima from the evil within 2. Both are pretty cool characters i'd like seeing in DBD.

For unlicensed? A Prisoner or alchemist sorta killer would be cool. (Alchemist since blight just ended up being a mobility mutant)

  • For as much as i love nemesis, and especially love his power, yes he was wasted. Too much of his character is too powerful for him to fit into dbd, hes not gonna be able to bring his signature weapons like his RPG into this game, which neuters him a lot. Hes a wonderful pick to represent the franchise, but not very great when you realize how little his character specific quirks fit into dbd. Mr X or the other "Just punches/slashes people" characters would have been the smarter more adaptable choice.

Also on the subject of zombies, holy hell. How hard is it to program a 2 m/s walking hazard that doesn't constantly get stuck?

  • No clue? Maybe BHVR didn't like the amount of negative reception a lot of the reworks were getting and have pushed it back into development. I hope thats the case, i can't stand gorilla feng

  • @Phasmamain said:

Speaking of huntress menu why didn’t she get a new theme? Billy got one for his add on pass so what’s the deal?

Its a slow process. All of the OG killers have gotten a rework or addon pass as of late (trappers only being a visual rework), so they're all in the same boat of "why don't we have original music yet?" The likely reasoning being that music is hard to make, especially original music befitting of the tone of the game. The OG killers are going to be especially difficult, since the tonal design headspace they were made in ages ago has long since passed.

  • Maybe its just the RE fan in me, but i can't bring myself to hate the map. Theres so many intricate details and the atmosphere is so intoxicating that gameplay just goes out the window for me. I can get why people dislike playing the map, but i think its a marvel to explore.

I am begging you BHVR, please give nemesis an outfit for his battle shredded look

  • I also don't play plague that much, but i rotate between the killers enough that i feel like i have a good census on some of her stronger builds. Injury related perks are exceptional on here. Thana, blood echo, forced penance, yadda yadda. A dash of injury related perks here and there can make here exceptionally opressive, and using these perks actually pressures survivors to cleanse MUCH more often to lighten the burden, meaning your power is more avaliable more frequently. Like you said though, she does work excellently with stealth perks too, since shes very quiet and can surprise infected survs for ez downs. On the subject of puking on things? Its pretty inconsequential, yeah. Its great in the early game, but late game when survivors aren't really cleansing as much puking on things is just a minor deterrent for the last one or two non infected survivors. However infecting objects can be a great tool for detection in a three gen and exit gate situation.

  • Its really only because he is exceptionally ugly. Nobody really dunks on him for his mediocre perks

  • I usually do combinations of cosmetics for them, but holy ######### bunny legion is so funny. I Really wish i saw them more often these days, they basically never show up.

  • Honestly im very interested in knowing more about deathslinger and the twins. They have super interesting lore that hasn't really been expanded much in the tomes and that dissapoints me. Don't really care about whatever cosmetics they get, i just want them to receive some new lore.

  • If killers could see which survivors were hooked and which weren't, there would be an unruly increase in tunneling. Its a terrible idea.

  • Pyramid head, nemesis, and good huntresses. They're the only killers i go against where i actually feel tense, most other killers are just too goofy and i can easily tell its just another player. But those killers? [*shudder*] They just give off such an otherworldly and animalistic vibe that i just can't help but feel a bit tense.

Edit: oh and don't forget turning around and seeing a myers or ghostface literally just standing there. God damn terrifying.

  • You can outplay wraith. You cannot outplay spirit. Very very simple difference.

  • This minus the nerf. I Don't think she deserves a nerf, its simply unfair to the people who have mastered her and rightfully deserve the ez kills they get. Nurse is actually quite balanced in her low tier/mid tier brackets. Most players in that skill area can generally still be a threatening killer you have a chance to outplay without ever feeling unfair to fight. A good nurse though? Like a REALLY good nurse? The average/above average Survivor has absoloutely no hope of winning against that and the match becomes more about watching in awe as your team gets demolished by this very rare sight. A skilled nurse breaks every possible option in two, you can't even use nurse specific outplays because they've mastered the killer to a degree where they'll read you like a neon texted book.

TL:DR Top tier nurses are a hopeless depressing fight, but are so rare that i do not think nurse should ever be nerfed further. She is OP in capable hands, though.

  • Oh my god, not this post again.

  • "Sorry, the community doesn't really enjoy the killer you main. Hope you enjoy 50+ minute queue times"

This is the stupidest idea i have ever heard by far, and were on the dbd forums, home of stupid ideas. Are you drunk or just that daft?

  • Billy by far. Nothing beats some good mobility and an instadown, plus his ability to curve at loops can get you some super disgusting downs. Wraith has a lot of power in his kit too, but he can still be easily beaten by a team that intelligently gen spreads, he just can't keep up.

  • Minor difference being survivors can still see you and give you some nasty sunburns with their flashlights. PWYF also takes a lot of prep work if you don't have a perk that quickly rotates the obsession. Other issue with PWYF being that it has a super miniscule amount of tokens that wraith loses very quickly. Spirits suffers none of this but has literally all the benefits.

Ugh, no. The dc penalty was the worst thing they ever added to this game.

Why make fun and interactive killers or fair maps when you can half ass it and strongarm players into staying into matches they aren't enjoying.

This incredibly selfish mindset is why people hate our community

  • The issue is that you can't really "Nerf" SWF. Their strength is coordination, if it was just 4 people in a lobby who knew eachother and nothing else, their only strength would be enhanced altruism and knowledge of one anothers builds, a not particularly powerful ability in of itself. The issue with SWF comes from their external communcations. An ability that by far breaks the game in every possible capacity, especially when you consider that both the original vision of the game and current balancing for the game are centered around survivors lack of communication and knowledge between each other. You can't nerf SWF in any healthy-for-the-game ways because their strength lies in resources OUTSIDE of the game. A pity reward for the killer for being ######### on by something that cannot be balanced would be an insulting fix, i think.

  • The overheat isn't that bad. Unecessary and annoying, but nontheless easily manageable. the real issue is his sh-tier addons. He has basically nothing complimentary to his kit and that makes him very boring to play.

  • We cant. But the silent majority that play this game very casually and don't give 2 damns about anything deeper than that don't have to think about it. And BHVR caters to their silent majority.

  • I am truly proud of this community.

Joking aside, yes its repotable. Just report them. hopefully they recieve more than some half hearted slap on the wrist.

  • The idea that survivors are more toxic than killers is primarily based in a crowd bias. There is only killer every game, but 4 survivors for every game. Thats 4 possibly toxic survivors, and only 1 possibly toxic killer every match. By definition, it will always seem like there is a MUCH larger amount of toxic survivors because they are simply the more numerous aspect of the playerbase. There is very likely a similar amount of toxic survs and killers playing the game, the killers are just more spread out between matches.

  • Heres to hoping. Liscensed killers bring a lot of new faces to this community and are just hype in general.

  • Bad advice, but just play the game some more. I have around 2500 hours and rarely if ever fail to 3-4k with any killer. Its all about getting those hours of dedicated practice and experience in, giving up and becoming a slave to the meta will only infuriate you further with each mounting failure. One day you may shout "How could i possibly lose with spirit!?" at your monitor in a fit of blind rage, never realizing you failed to grow as a killer by refusing to face loss. Don't let your anger control you, its just a game. Have fun and the experience will come naturally.

  • The fact you're making a forum post is pretty clear evidence they won. They DC'ed just to spite you, because thats literally all they can possibly do to piss you off. By getting angry at it, you just fall into the trap they laid and end up looking dumb yourself.

  • wraith was a complete addon addict. He needed to go to rework rehab because it was basically impossible to utilize his basekit. Now hes addon complementary instead, making it so his gameplay can be enhanced with addons rather than necessitating them

  • Billy, Myers. and legion. All of them desperately need a pass since the majority of their addons are really terrible.

  • Wraith feasibly cannot be the new bubba because he lacks innate lethality, hes still a basic M1 killer. The problem comes in his extreme mobility and mega ez resource wasting. If wraith cloaks at a loop, you HAVE to pre drop the pallet, every, single, time. Hes not strong in basic chase, hes strong because he can rapdily move around the map and remove pallets quickly. Bubba on the other hand is widely hated because its exceptionally unfun to be chased by him, getting caught out in the open is a death sentence. I'd say wraith is more like pre-nerf freddy. Every ######### killer is lining up in droves for their ez 4k

  • Meta killers are the only ones you could really feasibly run without addons. Addons are a pretty essential part of the games balance, same with perks. You aren't gonna 4k against a competent team as myers or ghostface without addons and perks.

  • Better yet, make survivors invincible in safe rooms.

Kidding, obv. Its simply not a good idea to implement large mechanics like a minimap specifically to one map. It unbalances the experience by a large degree and results in the map feeling very disjointed from its counterparts.

  • No. There is no particular reason to play nice. Personally i play nice because i feel that its my duty to make sure everybody has fun, but you have no obligation to assure fun for the other side. Its just kind to do so.

  • We badly need a prison map. Its likely been said plenty of times before but i think its very fitting of the games theme.

  • Im much too worried behavior would massively mess up the representation and create a horrid mess of a character. I'd love to see more representation in the game, but i just don't trust BHVR's writing enough to generate a good sensible character out of the topic.

  • The issue is the price of copies of DBD on alternative accounts. and the ease of purchasing hacks. Alternative DBD accounts can cost only 2-3 USD if you know where to get them, and an external cheat client lasts for every possible copy of the game you get, meaning they don't need to bother spending money on consecutive purchases. spending 2-3 dollars every few weeks to cause havoc is hardly a punishment.
