Im not reading that crap. I rag on people a lot on this forum for being to lazy to read 4 sentence long paragraphs, but christ dude. Nobody wants to read a giant paragraph of straight up complaining.
-
Thank you for the donkeys, based donkey poster
-
You sure showed that billion dollar company by cancelling your subscription. Really giving the big man a run for his money!
Come on man. Licenses come and go. Netflix doesn't give a damn about who has what, they just care about what makes them money. DBD likely wasn't doing that anymore, so like any corporation they emotionlessly pull the plug. Thats business.
-
Were too deep into the problem to fix it now sadly. Nearly every killer is balanced around how they can effectively perform in the time it takes to complete 5 generators. Nearly every survivor perk is balanced around assuming each gen takes the natural amount of time they always have. The powercreep in this game is undeniably a huge issue, as over the years instead of fixing the time flow of the game we've banaid fixed it with incessantly useless perks.

That's what I was confused about. Who opened it & if it was the Entity or someone else, why is Pinhead going about torturing survivors?
Well we can answer those two things simply. The lore states that "somebody" opened it. it never specifies who, but it is assumed a survivor who stumbled upon it and solved the box in some vain hope it will help them survive. And pinhead is going around torturing survivors because he likes to, its kind of his whole deal. He is also very likely not under the entities employment, just performs sacrifices because it is pleasurable to him to see the survivors suffer.
-
Somebody opened the box. He came. Thats quite literally all the lore were given and likely all the lore were gonna get. Crossover characters aren't canon anyways, as they usually don't make much sense. Though frankly pinheads lore makes the least sense, because how the hell did the configuration even get into the entities realm? Was some dummy holding it when the entity snatched them up? So many questions.
-
The hitbox is janky as hell, it never bothered me too much since its very thin in general but i wouldn't call it a "tech." the hitbox does linger somewhat, but its so minuscule that you'll have to miss incredibly close to them to slide over and damage them. Plus its incredibly unreliable, which makes it less of a tech and more of an inconsistent bug.
-
Listen for the rustling of grass and footsteps. The best spirit players never even ran stridor, because there are more than enough environmental cues to indicate where a survivor is moving. Bad spirits ran stridor because they were overeliant on breathing and injured groans, which made her stupid easy to play. Shes a lot like any other high skill killer, you need to actually git gud at her to be OP against iron will teams.
-
can i pet her
-
I think a charm associated with said killers adept would be good. You could throw it on your hook as a message to the survivors that you're experienced with this killer.

Sole Survivor is absolutely not a good perk, my student. But worry not, there is hope for it yet, unlike these perks.
Laurie mains literally crying with joy right now
-
He is quite literally a worse huntress/slinger with it. You bonk a survivor from range, injure them, and then are forced to chase them like an m1 killer. Pinhead isn't the worst m1 killer at the very least, since hes pretty short and very quiet. Not even the chain hunt causes them to be stuck in place, the fang also effectively makes it so there is no downside to holding the cube hostage.
-
Myers is the basically the religious martyr of dbd. He may not be amazing, but he was truly the OG "fun killer." his entire gameplay loop is thematic and his chase theme is a bop. He walked so that future killers could run
-
I reccomend playing him whenever you just want to have fun, a lot of players will tell you hes one of the best killers in the game (which he is) but you should never play a killer just because they have a high potential to win. Blight is an insanely fun killer and he has a ton of wacky techs you can do to get downs, i reccomend learning some of his techs so you can maximize your options at every loop, i find it to be a ton of fun trying out techs with him whether or not they work. You'll feel like you gain 50 iq points every time you pull one off and thats incredibly fun.
-
Omg wow!!!! You sure showed them! How can i be just like you??? I want to be so cool i can't get camped either! Thats awesome man.
-
Hes pretty medicore. But hes very fun to play, i think with some decent buffs he'll be one of the more beloved killers. Thats assuming BHVR actually pulls through and properly buffs him, which we all know won't happen for a while.

If there is a god, then his greatest action of all was making ruin a hex. Ruin is an ungodly force to be reckoned with against any team with even the slightest ounce of miscommunication or lack of coordination. Not only does it destroy gens that are not actively being worked on, but it provides a secondary slowdown as survivors will literally trade downs just to get it. Ruin is fine as a hex and should stay as a hex.

What are these splinters? I’ve only played the game for just over a year so I guess they retired way before that.
Splinters were an INCREDIBLY old addon from back in the day that let you take the form of a killer you did not own, but only with their basekit. I used to have one for the cannibal before i prestiged. Essentially burning the splinter would spawn you as said killer, regardless of which killer you burned it on. Just with none of your perks and no addons. It basically let you demo DLC killers before you chose to buy them.

Been reading house of leaves. Kind of an insane book honestly, feels like my brain is gonna implode every time i read it. Recommend it for any avid readers in this forum. Or if you're just a fan of psychological horror.

Well yeah I completely understand the weapons not being there. He should have at least had the running. I mean that is one of if not the most iconic part of him. And his destruction of course and all that. I mean it could have easily been balanced around a bit. Plenty of killers already had it so he could have worked with it.
Certainly. it feels like a pretty huge loss that a character pretty iconic for introducing threatening mobility into RE as whole has literally 0 mobility abilities.
-
I want an anti-tunnel perk that is just an AI that automatically writes a hate comment to whoever tunnels me. It feels like a perk this community would adore.
-
Its likely because it would be very difficult to place a lot of his abilities contextually into dbd. He can use firearms, an ability of which would only be shared by a single other character whos firearm is a rickety harpoon gun. They couldn't get any sort of firearm to work realistically without it being a bit ridiculous. (Like seriously, imagine firing his RPG and it only puts a survivor in the dying state lol) But you can't deny he could've been more true to his character. He is known for his ability to sprint at super high speeds, and they only gave him that as an animation and nothing else. He can roar at deafening levels to incapacitate his foes and he only does that in, you guessed it, an animation. his ability is bih slapping survivors with his meager range tentacle and it certainly feels like what he should've been was lost in development. Not to mention the zombies AI being about as braindead as an actual zombie, it feels like justice was simply not done to his character.
-
Huntress. I absolutely suck balls at dodging hatchets, i can dodge slinger perfectly fine but huntress just does not compute with my brain. It certainly doesn't help that most huntress players are pretty experienced
-
i am so confused. What does this post even mean???

Dude if you played at least few multiplayer games you should have got it by now. I am sorry if that came as rude it wasn't meant to be.
It is just that people shame everything they have trouble with because they like to stomp. But even when they do they still trash others. It is just gaming in general with few exceptions.
I had a person recently apologising to me after the game because they didn't saved me. And after a little talk they said how people attack her in ps messages if she doesn't save everyone and leaves through the gate. She is probably really young and I felt so bad, trying to explain to her that she should play however she wants as long as she doesn't insult and bm.
I really feel sorry for younger people who try to please everyone and are scared to be themselves.
Everyone should use killers, perks, offerings and items that they want. Everyone should use strategies they want as long as they don't insult people on purpose. And people shaming and attacking others for their choices are making other peoples experience miserable.
Not mine because I am not a kid anymore but my heart goes to impresionable young folks like the poor girl I mentioned.
This is a great point, and i follow a lot of this advice. My problem is with the fact the issue is so wide spread and very clearly effects the community morale and balance of the game. Its no fun being surrounded by hostile jaded apathy everytime i talk about or read discussion regarding a game i hold very close to my heart. Perk shaming is just one of the most notable aspects of that apathy, and it bothers me because of the fact that its hard to enjoy this game when so many of its players are burnt-out and cruel.
-
@CornHub said:
People do this on any platform & the forums aren't an exception. I remember someone having a point saying "this loop on RPD is nearly an infinite" & most of the comments were just saying ruin+undying opinion discarded. Like the problem is still there guys
This is what bothers me the most frankly. It feels as though perk shaming is often used as a scapegoat to avoid confronting the very real issues this game has sometimes. We still do it after nearly 5 years.
-
Terry Akers or Jin Yoshida from frictional games SOMA. Very underrated i feel like doesn't get enough representation in horror crossovers. Amnesia had its spotlight in the crossovers and it saddens me SOMA never received that. I think they'd fit well into DBD's grimy aesthetic. Plus they have a pretty defined set of abilities that would make it easy to implement a power for them.
-
I absoloutely hated it every time i played killer, but it really made my survivor experience a lot better. As much as i hate admitting it i do kind of what MMR back. I hadn't had that much fun playing survivor in years.

not all of them. Iridescent stone, bloody coil, Claxcombed clapper, Tuft of hair, Iridescent king and queen, mint rag, mother daughter ring, black incense are all great addons
Weird that all of them are from much older killers. Its almost like behavior is incredibly afraid of making a strong killer with strong addons these days
-
Is this even a debate? At least nemesis doesn't eat an entire DS every time he downs somebody with his power.

Said guy with ruin/undying/corrupt on ptb yikes. Literally nobody wants to play ptb against sweaty killers. Also no new content for survivors so address your critics to bhvr
And who are you to perk shame me? I was testing a variety of builds, that game i was running the best slowdown i had to see if the chain hunt had synergy with ruin if i ran the iri lament config. Its a test ground you whiny baby, of course im going to run a variety of different builds. This includes ruin undying. It wasn't even tier 3 ruin either, because i didn't have him leveled enough.
-
Its acceptable if it means they are allocating their resources to more needy parts of the game.
-
Doesn't matter what they say our what the situation is. Hell, if you really want to tunnel the first guy you see out of the game. How you play is your prerogative, if you feel it just to be a moral killer then do so. if you do not care, nothing a survivor says should bother you.

I'm looking forward to Pinhead, though I will laugh out of sheer confused bemusement if it turns out to be FNAF. I mean this forum would come UNGLUED.
I wonder about the timing of these things. I wonder how much of a calculated move it was to slip in the Stranger Things news on the eve of something potentially very positive. Pretty shrewd, I have to admit. So I guess, while I'm still not feeling very happy about THAT development, I'll be just as curious as everyone else to log in tomorrow and see what's next. Gotta move on.
Yeah, we'd see a divide in this forum greater than when moses parted the red sea.
-
Considering hes an executioner style bounty hunter from a time in which death became an aesthetic for guns for hire like himself, a skin like that would not only be thematic but quite awesome.
-
Sadly it has been confirmed the devs will not be creating a replacement killer or a replacement map. Demogorgon will become an entirely unique and exclusive killer.
-
Hes horrifically ugly. Like, REALLY ugly. Like kid who sits in the back of the class ugly.
I'll still buy him during the ST sale for the sake of having every cosmetic though.
-
It would be cool, but its incredibly unlikely. The series has been quite dormant for a pretty long time.
-
The hatch, despite popular belief, is not balanced towards survivors. A killer is SIGNIFICANTLY more likely to find it first, which is entirely intended. And if they don't find it first, they'll probably get there before you anyways. If you manage to escape through the hatch, its a lucky escape and it makes you feel good. Thats its point, for rare but rewarding escapes. 9/10 times you will not get it anyways, so why does it matter?
-
this forum is over-saturated with these kind of threads
-
A moderator on the forum has confirmed we will not be receiving a map replacement.
-
I don't think ST could be made into a generic chapter. The characters have become too beloved in the community, entire memes have sprung up from them dedicated to the care for them. Scoops steve, demodog, the hype around demos buff, nancyheads, etc. You can't remake that lightning in a bottle without it always living in the shadow of its cousin.
-
No. I Feel as though maps should be up to random chance. I know this hurts some builds like scratched mirror myers, but overall i think the good it would do would be staggering. The maps in this game are too one sided for certain killers/survivors and its not particularly fair you can just send yourself to them for an ez win.

Is this a sluzzy alt account?

Fortnite is much bigger game then DBD.
DBD needs licenses to survive.
We have at least 500k+ players (at least thats what their marketing says....) DBD is also a pretty big game. Fortnite absolutely will be seeing the back end of netflixes hand, smite too.
-
I won't ever quit this game, but i'll become more and more empty playing it if we lose other beloved characters. Each character is an addition to the soul of DBD, to lose them or see them less often due to them no longer being purchasable is a very sad thing.

Demo is not even a contender for being the most iconic killer in the game. Myers, Ghostface, Bubba, Freddy are way more iconic in the horror genre.
Sorry, i meant iconic in a community sense. I Don't think any of the other killers we have has been memed as heavily as demo, nor recieved the same levels of praise as he has. You are correct though, he is on the bottom rungs of iconic if we consider only the franchises with no community context.
-
Never ever thought i'd say this but...
Yeah. I think i kinda want MMR back.
