Most perks backfire hard so not a tipping point for me. Hexes especially have this effect but still run them from time to time (apparently to piss myself off).

I'm talking "You end up losing two gens because Deadlock stopped you from popping them back to back" hard.

  • @chargernick85 said:

This perk has my interest. I know the post is about tourney play which I have taken a break from but The whole spread out on 3-4 gens from the start and 3 pop will change with this perk. Yes a survivor can wait it out, Yes a survivor can go to another gen, but the point of this perk is to stop the next gen from popping. 30 seconds is not much but I have has SO MANY instances where I am heading to a gen I knew was being worked on to POP it and the ######### pops before I get there. That is the part that interest me is holding it in place while I am hooking and coming to pop it. I actually want to try it with Thrilling to see how it goes (I run my own ideas not others) as Thrilling don't block the ones worked on (how you know where to go) so if they pop one thrilling told me to go to it will block any other Thrilling highlighted for me...Think I said that right.

Lethal pursuer is meta. It goes fantastic with corrupt so you get the most value from it. If you hit the lottery and survivors spawn together.....You win. That rarely happens though it more of spawn in 4 different places next to gens/hexes but still.

That is the part that interest me is holding it in place while I am hooking and coming to pop it.

This was my exact train of thought when I first saw Deadlock, and I can promise you from experience that when that plan backfires, it will backfire hard.

This perk will likely be paired with corrupt, blocking 4 gens after the 1st one is done. Basically, If you're playing a META killer and getting that first down FAST, you'll essentially be able to camp for that first kill.

    Consider this:

In high level play, the optimal Survivor strategy is to spread out and hit gens separately so the Killer struggled to defend gens. If one person is going on one gen at a time, it takes 80 seconds to finish the gen. Then you factor in the travel time it takes to find a gen not blocked by Corrupt. By the time Deadlock finally kicks in and blocks the first gen, the timer on Corrupt will already be close to expiring. So to say that "four gens will be blocked after the first gen is finished" seems to me like an exaggeration because the time that the two perks will be active simultaneously is very likely to be short enough that by the time the Survivor who finished the gen and the Survivor whose gen was blocked by Deadlock move on to the next gens, Corrupt will basically be finished and will have accomplished about the same as it normally does.

I agree with Remember Me,Gearhead and Coup De Grâce part. Those nerfs were beyond stupid and unnecessary.

The change to Hangman's Trick was fine though. It's supposed to counter sabotage plays and not provide that amount of map awareness

The nerf to Hangman's Trick was way too harsh, given how insignificant sabotaging is currently. I'd understand them not wanting to keep it at the numbers it had in the PTB, but 6 meters is nothing. I think it's weaker than old Hangman's Trick and one of the worst perks in the game atm.

And performance has literally gotten worse since this post was started.

I can vouch for this personally.

  • I won't speak to its power for any other playstyle, but as far as the taxi build, I'm wondering if I should go back to Surge. Feels like I am better off not giving Survivors a reason to immediately run from me the moment I pick someone up. Maybe when my game runs somewhat normally again, I'll test it some more.

    @Beaburd said:

    Strength depends on the killer.

Hard for me at all to care if a Meyers, Trapper, Trickster, Plague Ghost Face, or even a Hag has it; but give it to Deathslinger or Nurse and you couldn't lure me back into terror radius range for any number of Scooby Snacks.

Also, is anyone else being driven crazy by the discussion title? I keep thinking it's asking about Starbucks coffee, and I can't shake that feeling no matter how hard I try.

    How about THREE SCOOBY SNACKS?

  • @datm said:

@Pukenplag @Orion as i said u can say that so easy. There are many reasons why this punishment is not okay. As survivor you can just die on hook. As killer just go afk and u will probably get gen rushed anyways. But then for the people who has real problems is the punishment just dumb. If a killer for example is letting you bleed out you have to dc. For people with bad connection u get instantly kicked for no reason. In other games u just wait out the lag and you can go on with the game. Or when ur game crashes without a knowning reason. All these examples are poor people that now have a punishment. Because the mad Andys can't realise that there are people out there who also want to play this game but does not have all the perfect requierments.

I'm gonna have to echo other people here who say that if your suffer connections enough that you are continuously disconnecting, then playing actively risks ruining multiple games for teammates. Do so at your own risk.

  • I actually have somewhat mixed feelings about this, even though I suppose it is a net positive. It's great for the people who want them that they won't have to get lucky with the shrine and spens irishards or auric cells to get them. On the other hand, adding a bunch of perks that I personally do not want to all my Bloodwebs reaaaaaaally sucks for me considering that I avoid unlocking teachable perks I don't actively want specifically to avoid cluttering the Bloodweb perk pools.

  • @nancyt1428 said:

My thing is -- there is no punishment for missed chains. Like you can just almost spam it if you need to because it replenishes so quickly.

But then someone said that the fact that Pinhead is just standing there could be considered the "punishment" for missing with the power, because it allows the survivor to gain distance.

Isn't the punishment for missed chains lost distance?

  • I am desperate for optimization right now. I originally took a break from the game due to health-related issues, but as is, I feel like it might be better to continue to not play until I don't feel like I have to play through a slideshow every time I want to try and land a hit (and this is on Steam).

  • @[Deleted User] said:

They are not like hex perks they are simply perks that activate upon being unhooked from certain hooks.

I think what OP means is that this could be like Hex Perks in that they are all classified under a certain brand to denote what kind of effect it is. "Hex: " perks all involve Hex Totems, and "Scourge Hook: " could be the start of a trend involving perks that turn hooks into Scourge Hooks.

  • That is a very short description.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think a better question would be not what you should do in this situation, but how you could avoid this situation from occurring in the first place.

I personally don't use Myers anymore and I have him 3rd prestige max. He might be a fun Killer but he is just too weak IMO.

I disagree. If people want to play a certain playstyle, even if it is not a strong playstyle, they should be able to figure out how to handle certain situations that arise. The answer shouldn't be "don't bother" unless the person is a Spike actively looking to play for results at all costs.

Things change quickly. Stranger Things cosmetics were released in June, which should have been a sign of a good relationship for the license, yet it was announced to be leaving in August.

Was the Stranger Things license renewed in June? If not, then I don't think this is a valid comparison.

I am aware of that, I mean what about people that join the game after the 17th? Will they be able to play anything with the same power as Demo or will his entire kit be essentially unobtainable? I am more concerned about the idea that an entire power will be completely unobtainable for new players.

This is pretty much the biggest question for me. I can live with the map and even the Survivors going away. But the Killer going away means that certain players are losing access to an entire mechanically unique Killer. There has to be SOME remedy to that. We don't need another Savini Jason.

Oh Second Wind will still be a perk.

See, perks don't get locked out. They'll just be thrown in the pool of free perks

We already have confirmation that the affected perks will be put in the Shrine of Secrets as generic versions.

F.A.Q | Stranger Things Last Chance Sale

    By PeanitsLast Updated: 4:30 pm

Why will Stranger Things content not be available for purchase after November 17th at 2PM EST?

As with all live-service games, frequent updates, additions, and the occasional change are to be expected. With Stranger Things, our focus continues to be ensuring the legacy of these characters within our game for fans who have purchased them or plan to do so by November 17th at 2 PM EST. With the exception of the Hawkins National Laboratory, all Stranger Things content surrounding Nancy, Steve, and The Demogorgon will remain part of the Dead by Daylight experience.

What will be the last date to purchase the Stranger Things content and does it affect the download after the end date?

Fans of Stranger Things will be able to purchase the chapter until November 17th at 2 PM EST. So, we invite those who have yet to purchase Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon as well as their respective cosmetics to do so before November 17th at 2 PM EST and ensure themselves ongoing access to this content moving forward!

For Dead by Daylight Mobile, the Stranger Things content will also be available for purchase until October 17th at 2 PM EST.

If I own the Stranger Things Chapter or individual characters, will I still be able to play with the characters after the removal?

With the exception of the Hawkins National Laboratory Map, all Stranger Things content including characters, outfits, and perks will remain playable if purchased before November 17th at 2 PM EST. Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon will continue to be part of the Dead by Daylight experience for all players. We invite fans who have yet to purchase these characters and cosmetics to do so before November 17th at 2 PM EST and ensure themselves ongoing access to this content moving forward!

Will the map still be playable after November 17th at 2 PM EST?

With the exception of the Hawkins National Laboratory Map, all Stranger Things content including characters, outfits, and perks will remain playable if purchased before November 17th at 2 PM EST.

What will happen with the perks/shrine/add-ons?

All perks, teachable perks and add-ons related to the Stranger Things characters will continue to be earnable/unlockable in those characters’ Bloodwebs. The Daily Rituals will also still be available for players who own the Stranger Things characters. Info on teachable perks & shrine in below question.

    What about achievements?

You don’t lose your progress on the characters that you already own. The Achievements will be made generic (so not specific to Stranger Things), and if you already had completed the achievement, the achievement will be automatically unlocked for you.

What will happen to the teachable perks?

Teachable perks for Steve, Nancy, and The Demogorgon will remain available to earn on those characters for players who own them, with new versions of these teachables being made available in the Shrine of Secrets to all players. Any player who has already earned a teachable perk will continue to have it available to learn on their other characters.

Does this apply to all platforms, including mobile?

Yes, this applies to all platforms and mobile.

For Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, Nintendo Switch as well as Dead by Daylight Mobile: Stranger Things content won’t be available for purchase after November 17th at 2 PM EST.

Will I be able to stream /play with Stranger Things characters?

Stranger Things content downloaded before November 17th at 2 PM EST, with the exception of the Map, will remain available for players, streamers and influencers alike. So, we invite the Stranger Things fans who have yet to get the chapter to purchase it before that date in order to secure access to it and enjoy the series’ content.

Does this situation also apply to other licenses?

This only applies to the Stranger Things Chapter.

What happens if I bought the characters with Auric Cells?

You will be able to keep your characters even if you bought them with Auric Cells.

Will we have other cosmetics created for the Stranger Things characters even if the content has been removed?

No new content will be created after November 17th at 2 PM EST. However, with the exception of the Hawkins National Laboratory Map, all Stranger Things content including characters, outfits, and perks will remain playable if purchased before that date.

Can we purchase Stranger Things characters’ outfits after November 17th at 2 PM EST if we already purchased the characters before November 17th at 2 PM EST?

Fans of Stranger Things will be able to purchase the chapter and its related content until November 17th at 2 PM EST. So, we invite those who have yet to purchase Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon as well as their respective cosmetics to do so before November 17th at 2 PM EST and ensure themselves ongoing access to this content moving forward!

Can I be refunded if I bought the Stranger Things Chapter or Collection?

All characters, cosmetics, and perks associated with the Stranger Things Chapter will remain fully playable if purchased before November 17th at 2 PM EST. Players owning any of these will experience zero change in gameplay or appearance, therefore no refunds will be issued. While the Hawkins National Laboratory Map will be removed, it and all the rest of our maps are free and have no charges associated with them.

When is the Stranger Things sale starting?

DLC Sale - August 18th to September 1st

    • Steam: 60% off ST DLC + 50% ST Edition

    • Steve Harrington – All outfits
    • Nancy Wheeler – All outfits

Character Sale – August 18th to November 17th

    • Steve, Nancy and Demogorgon

That first question is arguably the most important one, and it is the only one thathas what is essentially a non-answer.

  • Wait, what? So moving forward, there will be mechanically unique content that is just no longer accessible to new players? That seems really screwed up IMO.

How has performance been for you console players lately?

Performance has been bad for me, and I'm on PC. I can only imagine how miserable it must be on console.

  • I personally think so, but that mainly stems from my personal opinion that the only item worth bringing Franklin's in against (on paper) is the Key, which also happens to be the item where Survivors can play around Franklin's the easiest.

Why are moris an unhealthy design you can't use them unless they are one death hook or the last survivor?

    Yes, pretty much.

  • It's pretty meme at best IMO. Definitely not a problem.

  • I have nothing against FNAF being put in the game. Everything about the lore and world it's a part of seems like it'd fit in DBD totally fine. If we can have a killer K-pop star, a cowboy, an otherworldly demon whose entire head is a mouth, a Babylonian priestess, and some guy wearing a mask of William Shatner all in the same horror game, I don't see what makes Springtrap or any of the other FNAF animatronics out of place.

  • Yeah, I'm gonna have to throw my hat in here as well, sadly. The game's performance has apparently dropped big time for me on PC in the period that I haven't been playing. I just want to play my game normally. :(

  • @Troman said:

Looking at all the replies, are these the same killers that complain that survivors are ToXiC? That's the best example that killer community is the most toxic one in this game, swarming over anyone who's opinion they don't agree with and troll him/her. That's disgusting.

OP is a well-known forum troll who only recently got unbanned, only to go right back to doing the exact same thing they are known to do (and likely the same thing that got them banned to begin with).

  • For the moris, the yellow one still sucks, and the other two don't seem like healthy design. For the keys, I can't tell if you're being serious or not with those numbers. How the hell is the game going to spawn 50 hatches?

While I 100% agree it's nothing. Probably someone going "put vhs stuff on the screen, you know...those letters and stuff on the corners. But sure to add 1987".

You can't deny that ignoring everything else that doesn't confirm hellraiser isn't a good thing to do.

Uh, I don't really agree necessarily? I would judge it on a case by case basis.

  • No, no, and absolutely not. You're basically asking to make it so the RBT always kills.

No? He was on a hook, he was screaming which I assume was the dbd part of the crossover because the crossover trailer was shared with Capcom for the RE anniversary showcase. Do you mean to Resident Evil specifically? If so, it gave no specific clue to which game they were gonna use but it was obvious from the clover key and umbrella charm - games 2 & 3 but I don't think the scream matters so much. It didn't give us anything about which game they were gonna use, it was just a scream from a dude with a hook through his shoulder which did have relevance. It related to its crossover game which was Dead by Daylight but nothing towards the new killer.

I don't know if I'm even making sense I'm running off like no sleep lol

I dunno, I don't see the VHS thing as anything other than a random tidbit.

  • @GenJockeyNance said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2430491#Comment_2430491

My only thing about that is that it's such a random detail though? I remember the Resident Evil teaser, nothing in there was random. There were clovers, the umbrella symbol, hell even the rain was a detail and of course the zombies but the relevance to the vhs player has no relevance to the hospital scene in Hellraiser. It could be an era aesthetic though. I know 80s were a big vhs era.

Wasn't Felix's scream in the teaser a random detail?

I get that but to be more specific I was doing the box behind the counter on gas heaven and she crouched over and blocked me in (window wasn't open either).

Sounds to me like that box should be moved a bit to prevent that from happening.

  • @KiraS said:

I actually explained that a bit earlier. Mods even deleted that message for no reason, since it was probably their goal to make everyone be sure it's hellraiser. Here it goes

If you take a moment and actually think about the teaser, you'll realise that 19.87 is the thing that not only does not confirm hellraiser, but points away from it. Hard. Let's look at 2 theories:

Theory №1: The tv is supposedly the same tv from the movie, showing the same scene Julia saw when first visited by cenobites. But then... Why the hell would it be a recording? It's clearly supposed to be something of an illusion translated into her mind, which was done through a tv that doesn't even have a cassette player. How was it recorded? Who watches it? Why would dbd devs go to the length of making it a recording instead of just showing the scene as it is? And why would the date shown be 1987, when it's not even mentioned when movie events take place, with Hellbound Heart(origin story) released in 1986? It's shocking that barely anyone asked themselves these questions, and when confronted with "Why the hell does it show 1987?" they just answer with "Couse that's the date movie aired in real life you stupid", while showing real word perspective is never done in this type of fiction if we would even try to consider that as a viable answer.

Theory №2: Yes, yes, the bite of '87. Being the cornerstone of FNaF lore's and mystery for... idk how many of the games, haven't played FNaF that much, it also has a huge advantage of being a part of the actual product universe. Which is pretty important for a product teaser, despite what some people might think. It also makes perfect sense somebody, perhaps a cop or William Afton, attempts to watch a camera recording of that fateful day, trying to piece together some evidence, only to be met with the chilling fact that the footage was interfered with, perhaps by something... paranormal? Like spirits of dead children? But there's another option. Why am I even so sure it's a camera recording? Recording mode is set to SLP, which we can see in the bottom left corner of the screen, and that's what it actually means.

"EP/SLP is short for extended play. Extended play is similar to LP, but actually provides you even more recording time. EP was primarily used to document long, continuous events without the need to change video tapes every 2 hours. Due to the fact that the video is not of optimal quality, many times this setting was not used in order to preserve the quality of your footage. Tapes recorded at EP usually are the most problematic after years of storage, displaying a wide variety of tape damage symptoms including color loss, audio loss, frame skipping, and tracking issues."

    What I also deduced after:

if we were to say trailer is supposed to show irl cassette with hellraiser being played, which is ridiculous in it's own right despite being silently agreed on by community without any conversation, then why did they specify record mode to be SLP, while I assume movies were mostly recorded in SP, or maybe LP in rare cases?

    https://vhscollector.com/movie/hellraiser

As you can see, Hellraiser vhs wasn't even released in 1987. That year was it's cinema run. Vhs was only out in 1988. And you can also find out the recording mode is indeed SP. Like... if we weren't talking about behaviour here, that would just be concrete proof that hellraiser has nothing to do with next chapter. The "flower", that doesn't even look like flower from the movie and is more akin to powder explosion, just wouldn't be able to fight all of that alone.

Answer: The specific recording mode probably isn't intended to be a hint and is just the devs slapping on whatever for their Hellraiser teaser. The only parts that matter are the 1987 and the actual picture being displayed on the screen (the latter being garbled since leaked video file name aside, this is still technically supposed to be a teaser).

Ahh I see they cant share it to to x company is it possible to have them bot directly reveal it but allow teases

They're allowed to reveal whatever they want as long as the other party gives the okay. If they both agree to reveal "I'm still here," that's fair game.

Going back to this whole thing, they have not revealed "I'm still here." If the intent was for the message to say "I'm still here," they'd just reveal more letters to make that happen. The fact that they haven't means that that isn't the message they are trying to convey.

Other parties isint sharing it to the public still sharing it to them even indirectly

My point is that using the phrase "I am still here" is not inherently breaking a nondisclosure agreement, especially if BHVR and the FNAF license holder agrees to it.

Has anyone else tried going on Bilibili, finding the video, and checking what the file is downloaded as? I have only ever seen the same picture myself, and I tried searching for the video, but could never find it. The sole reason I do not believe the Bilibili leak is because someone can easily doctor the photo for quick and easy clout.

I cannot read Chinese, Google Translate is not helping me with this, and I have no idea how to navigate Bilibili. The best I can do currently is provide the video in question:

    https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Eq4y1S7zp?from=search&seid=10518341895464172379

EDIT: Found this at the top of the comments section, courtesy of Google Translate:

Brothers, don't guess, the official video download is named Hellraiser_Teaser_FINAL_with_sound

Safe to say that at the very least, the file name DID have Hellraiser in it, even if I have no idea how to find it.

    Disagree

because if they spelled it out to us it would warrant a search for nda violation. so making it look like one thing while it's another would avoid that

All your missing form I am still here is an extra i,m,t and you could use the extra I form misspelled circus to make it m,t

If they showed a spring lock that would be a dead give away

And could violate a nd agreement

(Question dose anything irl use a spring lock) if several thing than forget that part

The ace in the cage: might be far fetch but it might not but if you wish I'll take a point away from both

    H13:f12

And if you dont trust leaks

Then it would be even 12:12

But on the odds that the leaks legit 13:12

    I'm slow to response

Unless those letters happen, it spells nothing from FNAF. Agree or disagree?

They did not show a springlock. So it indicates absolutely nothing about FNAF.

Also, leaks from an official source are very hard to deny.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2429175#Comment_2429175

I honestly hope it's FNaF solely out of spite. I genuinely get ticked off seeing you on this forum telling others are wrong, and Hellraiser (which I do think WILL be the Chapter we get) is ImMuTaBlE fAcT. They have NEVER stated it is Hellraiser, not officially at least. The whole chinese Hellraiser_Teaser leak has only been from one person, people just reposted the same image. Sure, the letters spell out 'Hell' and 'Raise', but those CAN tie into FNaF. As someone said earlier in this thread, the flower in the TV, while very similar to the one in the 1987 film, isn't exact. The TV is, sure, but the flower isn't. 1987 also ties into FNaF and Hellraiser.

You can say that you think it's Hellraiser, but unless you work at BHVR and know with the utmost certainty, stop trying to talk down others and say "You're wrong, it's fAcT that it's Hellraiser".

It's Hellraiser. There REALLY is no way to argue otherwise, short of a massive troll on BHVR's part.

Fine I took a count off the top of my head here's a more in depth example

Raise hell all of those letter is 1 each that's 9

all of those letters can fit into I am still here the quote for the reveal of spring trap

    9 for fnaf

The pin in the board is obvious for pin head so that's 10 for hell raiser

But a spring lock is a lock that can hold mechanic locks such as pins or bolts That's also 10 for fnaf

then we got ace in the cage I haven't seen much about hell raiser but apparently it supposed to represents someone trapped in a box.

    Hell raiser 11

But it could also signify that they are just trapped and afton is trapped inside that sute

    Fnaf 11

    Then the teaser

You got the 1987 the year hell raiser was released and the point of the incident at fnaf

    12:12

The tv is the same one for the hospital scene in the movie but there is also a verry similar one on the table in fnaf.

    13:13

The only thing that let's hell raiser have the lead right now is the leak that may not even be real but I'll put a point on it.

    Hell raiser 14

    Fnaf 13

    Anything I missed

Also sorry it took so long I was playing matches in between this

Letters - Until the quote is fully finished, this is not a point to FNAF. "I a sill here" isn't coherent whereas "Raise Hell" is fully coherent. To be fair, if the quote does become fully formed, this basically becomes 100% FNAF, but until then, this points 100% to Hellraiser and not FNAF.

Springlock - This means nothing unless the devs teased a springlock. Not a point to FNAF. I shouldn't have to explain why this is a point to Hellraiser.

Ace cage - I don't really know Hellraiser, so I don't know if the cage thing is specific to anything in Hellraiser. The Afton thing is a huge reach. I can't say I'd give the point to Hellraiser, but I would not give the point to FNAF for this.

1987 - This is the only thing that I would give to FNAF, but I would equally give it to Hellraiser as well.

TV - Way way way more of a point to Hellraiser than FNAF due to the image inside the tv being a reference to the scene from Hellraiser. "FNAF has tvs too" is weak.

Leak - Nothing needs to be said.

If we're going by your system, I'd set it at 5-1 in favor of Hellraiser (the only reason I'm not giving it 6-1 is because the Ace Cage thing is a bit generic for me).

But there is a small pocket for dispute if we used a number scale and each clue is worth a 1 point

Hell raiser would be 13 then fnaf would be 12

With only the leak being the difference. Which even then is still not entirely reliable.

Due to it being on only one language and not following their trend or dead chapter XVIIII teaser ect.

Instead it says dead by daylight hell raiser teaser. That is only my opinion though

Please show me the math that led you to those specific numbers.

    That is understandable.

But they have several time have said

It's not fnaf its hell raiser and there is no room for dispute.

They're not wrong in that regard.

Funny how you agree that people should be more accepting of fan bases

but then immediately Say no your wrong. when thing over lap related to fnaf

I'm not saying it's not hell raiser but fnaf has a possibilty but not likely

Telling someone they are wrong about a prediction does not mean you don't accept an entire fanbase.

  • I'd be glad that I at least didn't lose.

if you're talking about a supposed chinese youtube "leak", then... wow :D

    I'm talking about Ghostface.

Know what I'm going back in the spring trap theory.

Not only to "raise hell" but because it's still a possibility

If leaks aren't supposed to be talked about 1 they would of fixed the leak

And 2 they wouldn't of merged this post with another one

Theres still a lot of overlapping things if you were to put them on a scale hell raiser is deffently more solid but they are both still on that scale.

Sure I'm being a devil's advocate. But I'm keeping a level head about it

They've confirmed leaks before if it was one caused by their mistake. So that point doesn't hold up. :P
