I've been accused of being sweaty for running the taxi build. Also been called a hacker/cheater for the same build.

Actually they do! Pig is add-on reliant whereas other killers like Myers isn't. This is why she "needs" Cate of Gears & Jigsaw Sketch and to a degree Tampered Timer, its because her chases are standard chases which as you know in DBD is bad. To compensate for this you need STBFL and Brutal Strength to make her viable. Her strong point is her Bear Traps with the *mentioned above perks*
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530255#Comment_2530255
Yeah or they could have just left her alone. I would have much preferred that over them touching her at all.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530316#Comment_2530316
They DID do something to her RNG..they nerfed her best add-ons which in combination makes her viable. Now shes not viable anymore not even as a mid tier. Therefore the nature of her RNG with traps in terms of giving her more time to find survivors is gone. So now she cant have 5 boxes on the map at once and 4 is the max (after the patch) and thats terrible because is really gonna hurt her.
Pig is actually one of my mains which is why im so upset over this bc i feel like it was unnecessary they could have just left her alone and it would have been fine. I know alot about her because i often do very well with Pig mostly in part to Crate of Gears and Jigsaw Sketch but at least i can admit that. Shes a mid tier killer and after the patch she's gonna be low tier 100%. She's gonna be in the same tier as Legion and Clown who are at the bottom i just know it. I keep saying it but if its not Jigsaw Sketch with Crate of Gears or Tampered Timer she's really hard to win with due to the amount of bad maps there are against her. She surprisingly does good on indoor maps because of her power (and assuming that everyone doesnt have Spine Chill)
Her upgrade with her Ambush attack isnt going to help her much and i already know whats gonna happen. Her Bear Traps are her equalizer and makes her viable not her ability. Why do ppl think that Pigs ability is her main kit. Its not, her Bear Traps are and her power is sub par at best. Buffing her power isnt gonna make her viable. They totally killed Pig..
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530320#Comment_2530320
Its not Tampered Timer and Crate of Gears, that combination is a gimmic, its not that good! Her best combo is Jigsaw Sketch and Crate of Gears. Tampered Timer is good too with Sketch but not as good as Crate of Gears with it.

If the Pig user tunnels the survivor with a bear trap on they're head then the Pig player is trash with her period. That person doesnt know how to play Pig, im talking about top Pigs like myself and that streamer (or he used to stream rather) who mains Pig. He runs no gen slowdown perks and has something like Brutal Strength/Enduring and something, i forget. Point is she shouldnt have gotten nerfed. Im not getting "bent up over a videogame" im expressing my dislike/disapprroval of the Pig changes/nerfs.
I dont just win with her i dominate the majority of my games with her or my win % is the highest with Pig right now (4ks/3ks and ruthless or merciless killer) now i really dont think im gonna win with her as much now, shes nerfed. They nerfed my base kit which is my Bear Trap setups. I'll still play her but i dont think nearly as much due to this.
"Actually they do!"
They do not IMO. Her bad add-ons still aren't worth using (with the potential exception of Amanda's Letter), and her good add-ons don't do enough to make up for her weaknesses. In my opinion, she still has roughly the same number of good add-ons as before.
-
So far, my initial impression is that the add-on pass doesn't really do much to help the Pig. She still suffers from the same problem she always does (namely that her anti-loop tool is ironically countered by a pallet loop).
-
I definitely care, though my attention is more toward the Pig add-on changes.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Why do you buff add-on that needs nerf or rework, I don't get it.
Note: Shape is no way OP, he needs some basic kit buffs but just his insta-kill add-ons are OP and total unfun and unfair to play againts.
Judith's Tombstone is one of the worst add-ons in the game, though. This makes it definitely less trash.
-
Video Tape seems stronk, Jigsaw's Sketch seems solid, Workshop Grease is just old Video Tape so nothing to comment on, and Interlocking Razor seems still bad.

This key change is literally in the same league as if they had made ebony moris only useable when there were exactly 11 hooks in a match. Yes, technically still possible to use, but, the tiny value is you get to maybe avoid a decisive strike on that last survivor. Still has value, killers be happy! Now keys are equally useless as that hypothetical mori.
Mori's in their current state are not useless, just way less usefull than they used to be. Avoiding decisive's and saving the hook travel time actually affect the outcome of matches.
Not really, as keys can be used to read auras with the right add-ons whereas an 11-hook mori does literal nothing until you have 11 hooks.
Also, I would argue that the travel time saved with the key is at best minimal and at worst actual time wasted. I think keys are generally not worth taking anymore, but I still think the aura reading makes them more useful than Mori offerings currently are.
-
I'd like to see the rest of her add-ons before casting judgement.

If a gun is buried underground, never used by anyone, can it still be triggered? No. If a gun is constantly being touched, but has a safety mechanism on it, can it still be triggered? Yes.
Is a gun that can be triggered, more likely to be triggered than a gun that cant be?
I have no idea what sort of comparison you're trying to make. Just speak in blunt terms, please.

Like Mori's have? Only you got another year of use out of yours.
I'm a killer main, yo. And yes, like Moris. As I mentioned in another thread, I find it strange that devs spent a whole year trying to figure out how to properly nerf Keys, only for them to go "eh, just run them into the ground like we did with Moris" anyways.
-
"How useless are her Add-ons currently?"
Good add-ons:
John's Medical File
Combat Straps
Video Tape
Last Will
Jigsaw's Annotated Plan
Jigsaw's Sketch
Crate of Gears
Not Good Add-Ons:
Rusty Attachments
Tampered Timer (if it doesn't kill, it does actual nothing; it's both weak and unhealthy design)
Rules Set No. 2
Amanda's Letter
Bag of Gears
Trash add-ons:
Workshop Grease
Broken Syringe
Razor Wire
Face Mask
Utility Blades
Interlocking Razor
Slow-Release Toxin
Amanda's Secret
In conclusion, quite useless.

What if we call it the Lament Device eh? eh?
I like that. The Deathslinger spawns the Lament Decive. The Survivors have to find the Lament Configuration to stop the Chain Hunt. The Lament Configuration still is not on the map because the Deathslinger gets the Lament Device instead. :P
-
Survivors have 60 seconds to find the Lament Configuration. Once the timer expires, the Chain Hunt begins. During the Chain Hunt clones of the Deathslinger start appearing and shooting Survivors and injuring them once he reels them in. The Chain Hunt ends when someone finds the Lament Configuration. The Lament Configuration is not on the map because that's Pinhead's schtick, stupid. :P

Make sure that adding the skin to the game doesn't cause the Oni to lose the ability to go into Ogredrive. :P

Jigsaw's sketch now adds a RBT instead of a Jigsaw Box, and got an added effect. It's a Purple Equivalent of Last Will.
Wonder if that means that they changed Last Will at all.
I am indifferent to the fact that Jigsaw's Sketch was changed completely, but I like the new Sketch effect in a vacuum.

Let's be real, this helped with the key issue.
But is also just boosted the slugging the 3rd and looking for the 4th strategy.
One obnoxious thing nerfed (Keys), one obnoxious thing buffed. (slugging for 4K)
People who don't slug for the 4k aren't going to be more incentivizes to do so. People who do slug already slug.

I also plan to being in Keys now, so yay.

It's hyperbolia, it's not 100x better either.
But if I am going add some logic: this addon has actually some reason to be grabbed from the bloodweb and thus has more reason to be selected as a filler addon to use if you dont know what you want to use.
Let alone that the effect applies instantly, where the other effect never really did anything useful at all. Even with Tampered timer, you could miss 40% of your skill checks and still get your trap off. While with the current effect, you would recieve a deepwound when injured. Not only giving you the indication where someone is, but also that they are deepwounded and cannot simply hide. Missing a skillcheck before was at best a small setback, missing a skillcheck with this addon is gamechanging.
Still not great unless there is another addon that actually makes it more likely for survivors to miss skillchecks. Like reverse skillchecks.
It's not hyperbole; as far as I can tell, it's just straight-up false. Unless I am mistaken about something, nothing about the new Interlocking Razors makes it more likely to trigger than the old Interlocking Razors. If anything, it's LESS likely to trigger because in addition to the failed Skill Check, the Suvivor also already needs to be injured.

Still 100x better than the current addon, and 10x more likely to be triggered than the current addon. Let alone that it's no longer a high rarity addon.
"10x more likely to be triggered than the current addon"
How? Am I missing something?

Guess we'll see if they're worth anything now. :P

Killers already slug to safeguard when the survivors have done less than 3 generators. The difference is that now that's every single match. I obviously can't speak for you but in like 90-95% of my survivor matches where we get 4ked, we aren't getting slugged because the killer can walk from the last hook to the hatch safely.
No, they'd also slug when the hatch has spawned to reduce the chances that a Survivor who may know where it is can reach it in time.
-
Killers already slug for the 4k to safeguard against the very scenario you describe.

Yea this is what I want to know on that iri one. Otherwise, survivors spend 1-2 mins searching boxes at the start of the trial and then you have no power the rest of the match? :/
I am just guessing here, but I would IMAGINE that if she did lose them, then it would say so in the add-on description.
-
If I had to wager a guess, the meta has shifted radically enough that old Vanity Mirror is no longer a problem.

We got good ######### commons too! Yeah, it requires them to fail a skillcheck. But this is way better than the ######### they had before.
Ehhhh, I wouldn't call this one any better than the current Interlocking Razor (except the rarity).
New video tape seems really strong, though.

I personally think it's kinda huge, for a common. Deep wound cannot pause if you are solving a box, so the survivor would be forced to mend for 12 seconds.
You are absolutely correct about Deep Wounds, but from my POV, you really don't fail Box search skill checks.
-
New Pig UR is legit as hell. New Pig common is cute but probably still just as crappy as all the other Jigsaw Box skill check add-ons. At least it isn't a freakin' rare.

THis isn't THE Key/Hatch Nerf. Seems like the band-aide to hold us off for our "treatment"
I don't understand how they can nerf Keys any harder than they did just now. Keys can no longer be used for multi-person escapes now.
-
I'm going to be honest, I'm surprised they spent so much time trying to figure out the proper key nerf compared to the Mori offering nerf, only for them to decide to to just nerf Keys into the ground like Moris anyways.

"Unfortunately, due to time constraints and the size of this mid-chapter, the change to The Spirit which would cause her to kick up dust while phasing needed to be pushed until further notice. The directional audio will be in the mid-chapter PTB as planned.
We’ve seen some mixed feedback to the dust change specifically, so we will monitor feedback closely from the PTB and subsequent release to see if this change is ultimately necessary."
It didn't even reach the PTB and they are already scrapping it. Yes, I know that's not what they said in the first paragraph, but the second one is pretty much "we heard killers didn't like a killer nerf so we are thinking about scraping it even before anyone got a chance to try it". Goes to show how scared they are of upsetting killer mains.
I'm curious how fast the Deathslinger nerf will be reverted and how fast the boon totems will get nerfed into oblivion.
"Yes, I know that's not what they said in the first paragraph."

More like that poster is saying that buyer's remorse is your fault if you have the means to do the necessary research to avoid it.

Killer Radius IMO.

I play to win as efficiently as I can. In terms of Survivor, that means hammering gens. So no.

I wouldn't say toxic, but I do think there should be a period of time in the countdown where Survivors are locked in before the Killer (maybe 15 seconds before timer runs out).

True, but at the same time a Survivor having zero chance at getting out of the trap on the first try is also needlessly punishing.
May I ask how?
-
@Zeidoktor said:

In that case the numbers are flexible as my intent was to standardize the percentages/ odds of a box working rather than have it a a natural consequence, similar to how escapes from the Trapper's bear traps were standardized to start low but increase each attempt and having that chance exist regardless of the box used. Do instead of one box as 100% and 3 boxes 0%, all four boxes would have a 1 in 4 chance [or whatever percentage you want to give it].
I can see how it makes things worse in one aspect, but also might help in others.
I happen to think the Trapper's traps should function more like Jigsaw Box searches, but that's just me.
The way I see it, if you want to fudge the numbers, just make the first box auto-fail and leave the rest as-is. I don"t see the necessity of changing the probability of the boxes beyond the first one (as I believe that a first box escape can be super punishing for the Pig).
