Really. I was always under the impression that one specific box was the one to get and all others would fail, so life or death would darkens purely on a lucky guess.
If it's already%-based then nevermind that idea.
"I was always under the impression that one specific box was the one to get and all others would fail, so life or death would darkens purely on a lucky guess."
That is indeed how it works. The percentages I listed are just the natural probabilities of getting the Trap off with each attempt. :P

Two possible basekit changes I've pondered:
Make Ruleset Number 2 basekit: Survivors can not see the Jigsaw boxes until their traps activate. I don't know how commonly they get their traps off pre- activation but if it's an issue that should help.
Fix the odds of a Jigsaw Box freeing the Survivor. First box they try is 25% chance, and becomes 50%/75%/100% from there, with adjustments from box-changing addons. To be honest, I'm not sure if this would make the Pig's RNG issues better or worse but should at least lower times they get traps off the first try.
The odds of getting a Trap off are 25%/33.33%/50%/100% by default. So you're kinda just making it strictly worse for Pig. :P

Like I said, I would make Iron Will have Off The Record's effect. So what to do with Off The Record after Iron Will has stolen its effect? Well, I'll tell you.
Off The Record could be changed to "If you're unhooked or unhook yourself in the killer's terror radius, your grunts of pain are reduced by 50/75/100%. Your sounds return to normal once you're outside of the killer's terror radius for 10 seconds. (If the 10 second timer gets interrupted by you returning to the killer's terror radius, the timer gets reset.) If you unhook another survivor in the killer's terror radius, they get this same effect."
It works as an anti-tunnel perk, it's limited, and it affects teammates. I think this would see play.
Why not just make that Iron Will's effect, then?

Killers have had enough of Entity not giving out good job benefits and are revolting.

It would be identical to Trapper. Remove her distance related addons and replace them with time spent breaking her traps.
Trapper traps in a vacuum are substantially stronger than Hag traps. Not a good comparison IMO.

Change its effect to Off The Record's, and then change Off The Record's effect to something else.
Okay, how would you change Off the Record so that it captures the spirit of Iron Will without being too strong/weak?

That information is correct, technically the gate is only 60 seconds, the additional minute is based on whether someone is still on the hook or in a dying state.
No it's not. The default timer for EGC is 120 seconds. The dying state/hook thing slows the timer down further, up to a maximum of 240 seconds.
-
@Tactrix said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2514468#Comment_2514468
An extra 15 seconds would give you JUST 15 seconds to get out that's under the assumption that you got to the gate the second it activated, which most people don't. So it would pretty much guarantee a 4k at that point.
EGC is 2 minutes, not 90 seconds. Please make sure your information is accurate first.
-
Also, EGC timer is 2 minutes, not 90 seconds. The timer also only moves at half speed if someone is downed/hooked. The only way someone dies to Blood Warden + EGC is if they pretty much walk right into it.

Maybe you don't know how blood warden works, go read it, because saying "leave the match" doesn't actually make you magically be able to walk through the BLOCKED gates.
It blocks the Exit Gates only when they're open. 99%ing Gates basically destroys any use Blood Warden has.

She needs a basekit change, doesnt matter what add ons they buff on her. And I think its safe to assume timer and crate is getting nerfed
I didn't dispute the likelihood that TT + Crate are getting nerfed. I said it is safe to assume that it won't just be that.

She is not. Thats just a list of killers getting few add ons changes.
So crate of gears and tempered timer are gonna get rekt, and thats probably about it lmao

It does say this:
"These changes focus mostly on unused add-ons, or add-ons that are too weak/powerful."
So it is not unreasonable to assume that it won't just be "lawl nerf timer and crate gg"

Yeah but in the case of Evil Incarnate it is possible to do even without tombstone piece.
From what I understand, it is impossible to do the achievement without the Tombstone add-ons. If both Tombstone add-ons get changed to not let Myers insta-Mori, the achievement becomes impossible.
-
@vacaman said:
What Pig needs is not addon changes, it's base kit changes IMO. She has some very strong addons, and i hope that if they don't change her base kit at least they leave her strong addons intact.
She absolutely needs add-on changes. More than half her add-ons are garbage.

They can’t change his tombstone addons cause evil incarnate will be impossible to do without those addons
They're allowed to change the achievement if it's impossible to complete, I'm pretty sure.

The reason slugging is not reportable is because you are guaranteed to die in four minutes if you are unable to get back up. If everyone is slugged with no way up, that just means everyone will die in four minutes tops.

Pig with the drill bit.

The lead balance designer, in his words, believes that the community's consensus on Pig's strength being low is a misconception and that she is "not weak" as she performs very well statistically. You're not likely to see buffs come to her unless SBMM has negatively affected her kill rate statistics.
I personally disagree with the lead balance designer and think the perception of the Pig's strength is warranted.

@Orion said:
Come on, they literally said "for the most part", but everyone's acting like they said "we're 100% satisfied and have no intention of changing him in any way whatsoever".
This is why the devs don't communicate with us. They say X, people distort it to mean Y.
To be fair, if the nerfs to Billy really are as heavy as people allege, then "for the most part" isn't really accurate either, is it?
-
I already just use it as though it only had the aura-reading effect. Not my favorite perk, but I'd still run it. While I think Thrilling Tremors technically has a stronger tracking effect, I think the cooldown on it makes it significantly less appealing to me.

*gasp* PIZZA THE HUTT

Early on when I played, I mained Doctor. Eventually I switched to Pig.

Nay.
It feels wrong to let a Survivor go after doing it, and it feels unsatisfying to capitalize on someone doing it.

Tombstones are fine, but Tuft of Hair really makes it difficult to pull off without some big screwups b survivors.
Honestly, Devour Hope, a Mori, and an addon to increase stalk rate will help round out a tombstone better.
Is it possible to get the achievement using Fragrant Tuft plus Ebony Mori, or does it specifically have to be done with one of the Tombstone add-ons?

well his powers have to be entity given or else he's just a normal dude. He actually became an oni. And while nemesis is absurdly strong Onis would face up against gods which is something I don't even think Nemesis could do.
We have not seen anything that suggests that DBD's Oni is that powerful, so I wouldn't go that far.
-
I think Nemesis takes it, regardless of whether he's allowed to use his mutations. His tentacles very much give him a huge range advantage without compromising lethality.
-
For me personally, it's incredibly hard for me to be fazed by any Mori when Mortal Kombat exist. That's not me criticizing DBD at all; it's just that Mortal Kombat has set the bar insanely high as far as nasty kill animations.
-
This one is actually a hard one, but I think I lean toward Nurse? The Doc shocks can definitely slow her down, but she's already kinda crazy so I imagine the mental damage would be limited. From there, she just needs to close the distance with some blinks and seal the deal.

great. since you don't disagree on that, do you agree with
- If pig is being chased by trapper, some % of times, trapper will catch her
- If pig is hiding around trapper, some % of times, trapper will find her
because if you agree on both, then we go back to what you said "If Trapper starts with an RBT, Pig wins no question.". because now we clearly shown that there are scenarios that even with a rbt on, trapper still wins.
Maybe in the literal sense where "some % of times" means "more than actual zero" but not "a decent amount of time", to be honest. I won't say it will NEVER happen because that's just statistically super improbable, but it won't happen a meaningful amount of the time IMO. I'll say this: I think the % of times where both end up happening is miniscule enough that I would say that Pig is very highly favored if Trapper starts with a Reverse Bear Trap. Maybe "no question" is a bit of a stretch, but I do think that if the RBT is in play from the start, the situation is heavily in Pig's favor.

@Alice_pbg said:

so, not only is trapper with a RBT, but pig is also hiding and the place she's hiding leads to a very big chase?
if you wanna stack the chances in her favour that much go ahead... but don't forget that it can go both ways.
now trapper has traps set up everywhere, the place they are fighting has very small corridors where you can't dodge a bear trap and trapper is right in front of pig, plus the jigsaw boxes are very close.
see? it's just silly. no point in stacking stuff like that. they are just a bunch of what ifs. they don't matter. do you disagree with the statement that if trapper gets his hands on pig she has no chance?
Only one of those things can be argued to be stacking the odds in her favor (the head trap, obviously). The rest are just things that are prone to happen. You're assuming I'm going out of my way to skew things in Pig's favor. I'm assuming we're in one of the in-game maps. That's why I said Pig wins with head trap and Trapper probably wins with no head trap.
And no, I don't disagree that Trapper wins if he gets his hands on Pig.

On what planet does Plague stand even a remote chance?

Trickster. He can make the Entity swoon and distract it long enough to beat it up with a bat.

you cut corners. pig gets cornered. the world isn't an infinite straight line
The world isn't an infinite straight line, but Trapper doesn't have an infinite amount of time. Trapper has 2.5 minutes to not die. It is not hard to play keepaway for 2.5 minutes. Even if you go "Trapper can corner Pig," Pig is one of the hidey killers. When you factor in the time spent just looking for Pig and then the time spent trying to catch her, it's no question that Pig can stretch it out long enough to make sure the Trap kills.
-
@Alice_pbg said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2489025#Comment_2489025
Even then... I don't think it's no question. Trapper is just as fast as pig. He can catch up eventually, and amanda is dead the second he does. All that matters is how long that will take.
But without the rbt already in place, amanda has literally no chance. Evan can probably raise her from the ground with 1 hand.
Honestly, trapper vs hag would be a more interesting fight. And wouldn't require to give one of them that big of an advantage from the start
If Trapper is just as fast as Pig, then Trapper is not closing distance. Ergo, he is not catching up and dies in 2.5 minutes. Pig wins, no question.
-
If Trapper starts with an RBT, Pig wins no question. She just has to play keepaway. Without it, I'd say Trapper wins if he gets a bit of prep time.

No it definitely is part of the base game, it's impossible to buy Dead By Daylight without getting the exact amount of Hawkins as to any other map. Are you trying to tell me they could remove Macmillan estate and the huntress tomorrow because they're "free for everyone"? I bought the game in February, I spent real money on it, and included inseparably was Hawkins. It's not separate from the base game because its "free", and besides that it actually isn't free because I had to buy the base game to get access to it.
Are you trying to tell me they could remove Macmillan estate and the huntress tomorrow because they're "free for everyone"?
Yes, they can. If you disagree, you're welcome to try your luck with the legal system.

picking it up stops chain hunts, they can still see the box, if you down them with the box you automatically activate it disabling chainhunts... i dont understand how this is good.
You're very rarely in that situation to begin with, from my understanding. So that is rarely relevant. Instead of "almost never find the box yourself to start a Chain Hunt," it's now "always find the box to gain Undetectable." The latter is still better than the former IMO.

Why would I ever want to deactivate chain hunts for survivors
You don't. You grab the box well before the Chain Hunt starts. If the Chain Hunt is active, ambush someone who is trying to get to it.

your right, you no longer get chain hunts. its awful.
i believe its like 15 s of undetectable for going out of your way to find the box. forgot to add that
You still get Chain Hunts; it's just that manually picking up the box stops the Chain Hunt. Considering how rare finding the box actually happens for Pinhead under normal circumstances, I'd say you are getting a pretty decent deal out of it.
-
I'm of the opinion that it should be harder for Survivors to find the box and easier for Pinhead. Originally, I was thinking 32 meter aura reading for both Survivors and Pinhead (when the Chain Hunt starts, it would become mapwide for Survivors and 0 for Pinhead) but now I'm thinking 16 for Pinhead and 32 for Survivors, with the radius getting larger as the Chain Hunt is close to starting.

The issue here is that they added the "with the audio files" part. If they would've just said due to complications, then that wouldn't imply any bug. But because they said complications with the audio files, many people might think there is some kind of a bug with the audio files.
What if someone never heard of dbd, saw that pinhead is coming and waits for 12PM est to finally buy the game and the dlc. That person will of course not read the patch notes, they don't know anything about what was in the game in the past so changes from that won't matter to them. Or what if they read the patch notes, but they don't know that if it were due to a bug, it would've appeared in known issues?
Pinhead's voicelines were a clear huge part of what made him cool and interesting. To me, a main aspect of a character being removed is something worth a twitter post.
Also, please stop with the mentality of "because they don't have to do something, don't be angry they didn't". Yes, they aren't obligated to say why they removed it, they aren't obligated to say why the game will be disabled for 2 weeks, but there is more to having a company than being legal. When you offer a service, you want to build up trust. It's not needed legally, but without it you can't have success and happy customers.
If they would've just said due to complications, then that wouldn't imply any bug. But because they said complications with the audio files, many people might think there is some kind of a bug with the audio files.
I refer to my previous stance: If it were a technical issue, it would have been listed under "Known Issues," not "Changes from PTB."
-
Friendly reminder that the removal of the voice lines was listed in the patch notes as an intentional change from the PTB, not a Known Issue. That should be your clue that it's not a technical issue.
